The world.....a mess created by the humans that live on it. The Sun is about to burn the earth as it expands, so most of the human population did what they could......they created a dimesional transporter, teleporting most of the humans to Dimesion 8, the dimesion where cards are real. Gradually, humans learned to live with their cards, but the Sacred Beasts have come together, and created City of Flames, the City of Thunder, and the City of Phantasms. Only the combined power of the Millenium Items and the humans and their monsters could save the rest of Dimesion 8.
Right now, the Millenium Items is completely unknown to the public, who has settled around Dimension 8.

Millennium Puzzle
Grants a single, simple wish to the holder as well as grants them the power of greater skill while playing games. It also holds the soul of The Pharaoh.
Millennium Eye
Replacing one of the eyes of the holder, the holder gains the ability to see through the opponent's eyes during a duel.
Millennium Ring
Points the holder to the location they most desire to go to, as well as holds inside of it the soul of the Thief King. If lost, but not stolen, the Millennium Ring will return to its owner by coincidence.
Millennium Scale
Allows the holder to tell if someone is lying, as well as allows them to fuse monsters requiring "Polymerization" without the card during a duel.
Millennium Key
Allows the holder to become invisible for a short period of time, as well as tell when a Millennium Item is removed from its owner's hands. The holder is also able to communicate with others through telepathy and tell the true nature of a person's soul by entering their mind and searching through it.
Millennium Rod
Allows the holder to temporarily take control of weak-minded opponent after defeating them in a duel, as well as speak with them on a telepathic level.
Millennium Necklace
Allows the holder to see a small amount into the future. This may fail if the opponent is using another Millennium Item during a duel.
