I believe that it is the most stupid thing you could do to your life, second to committing suicide. If you smoke, you kill yourself. People also say that smoking will make them feel better. It is lies, as they are just simply saying "Well, my life sucks and it will end, so why not kill myself faster to make me feel better?"

Smoking = Horrible
Smoking is a pathetic thing to do or start. It starts because you want to fit in with the cool kids and spirals out of control. The fact that people say it makes them feel better is a lie they want to tell themselves that it makes them happy when on the contrary it is making them miserable they just don't know it.
Yeah, starting to smoke isn't a very wise decision to make. Neutral

It is also proven to reduce a person's weight.
Umph people lose family members due to smoking.

People would smoke as they believed that it would help them to relax,which is what many wanted in this modern society where anyone can be rendered stressed easily. However, it could be fatal in the long run. Besides, there are many other ways to reduce stress.

Nicotine forces your brain to release more pleasure endorphins. If you smoke too much, therefore becoming addicted, your brain actually becomes accustomed to these larger amounts of endorphins, and you feel as normal. When the number of endorphins released while smoking becomes normal, the number of endorphins present while not smoking becomes below normal. Therefore, all smoking does is keep you from feeling crappy.

Okay, you just smoked a LOT. You lost 50 pounds. Good right? WRONG. You have died by then. Smoking damages EVERYTHING. You smell gross, your breath stinks, your voice wears out, you have a hard time breathing, so, yeah, Smoking is an Epic Failure.

Prolonged usage has long term effects.
I can't even express how non-deadly smoking happens to be.
Self-control=Real killer.

I think you should never smoke unless it's for a religious reason, like Indians & there Peace Pipe.
I'm very anti smoking I believe it played a part in my grandma's death of Lung Cancer, so its on my list of things to never touch or try, I can't really stand second hand smoke because of the damage does, plus its at trigger for my asthma (smoke, aerosols, etc...)

Native Americans don't smoke tobacco either, unless the occasion is special.
They normally smoke a weird Red-Stone that they mine themselves.

I lol'ed hard at this. Smoking is certainly NOT fine in any amount. Obviously, you have no idea what's in cigarettes if you think that. Seriously, the amount of tar that goes into your body with every cigarette you smoke is huge. Clogged arteries is a serious condition. There are actually SEVERAL different radioactive materials in cigarettes. If you think that radiation is somehow good for you, than you're not even worth the time it took to read your post. You think cancer is good? You think that having to have a hole poked in your throat is good? No, not everyone who smokes dies from it, that doesn't mean that it doesn't end up affecting their lives in a strongly negative way.

Oh, and newsflash, Nicotine is ADDICTIVE. That's the whole point, self-control isn't really an issue, it's a physical addiction. You suffer withdrawal if you don't get what you want.

If I cut your arm off, and you bleed to death, it's obviously not my fault for cutting your arm off, it must be your fault for bleeding.
Smoking has proven, due to the chemicals found in the cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc., to cause numerous effects. Some of them relaxing, some of them addicting.

The health side-effects of smoking are bad, and the side effects to second-hand smoke aren't any better.

What you have to realize is why people start smoking. Its not just because they feel bad or they want to fit in, and to try and stereotype someone like that doesn't make you any better just because you don't smoke.

If you really want to point fingers, maybe you should ask yourself what have you done to get to know why they smoke and what you can do to help them quit (if they want to - because you can't make someone quit if they don't want to).

Smoking is bad for you, yes, but sitting here complaining about how bad it is doesn't fix anything. Go out and do something about it in a non-confrontational, stereotypical way. You'll get more people to listen and less people contradicting you that way.

BTW to the post above me. Do you have any idea what the ingredients are in cigarettes? Let me just tell you some of them.
Nicotine
Cadmium - used in car batteries
Tar - yup, used on roads
Ammonia - Toxic
Arsenic - Toxic
Benzene - Toxic
Carbon Monoxide - Silent Killer
Formaldehyde - Used in the preparation of dead bodies
Hydrogen Cyanide - Toxic

So before you say cigarettes aren't deadly, and that "Murder She Wrote" said that its all a self-control problem. Maybe you should do some research before believing A TELEVISION PROGRAM. There are well over 15 different toxic ingredients in Cigarettes and non-smoke tobacco products, and that doesn't include all the chemical compounds created once these are combined and burned, which are also very toxic.

and you have to remember that 40 percent of all smokers got addicted by second hand smoke

what about when your older? You won't care when its your children, grandchildren, nephews, neices?
That's a very selfish outlook on this growing problem.
