But wait, when the 2nd opening showed a part where 1000 eyes dragon was summoned, the non-DT used was apparently level 0...according to the wiki

we'd need a lv 11 dark tuner + a level 1
or we start getting 0's or negative levels on normal monsters ><

I think that the Level 0 monster is also a Dark Synchro.
What might happen:
Level 0 Dark Synchro + Level 10 Dark Tuner (Most likely a Nomi) = This

One-Hundred Eyes Dragon/Buster. Awesome.
Also, Kiryu's (The blue-haired Dark Signer) uses this not Rudger (Spiderman).
Learn the actual names before assigning nicknames.

I got confused at Conclusion 2.
Conclusion 2: A Dark Synchro Monster is summoned by Subtracting the Dark Tuner monster's Level from the non-Tuner monster. A Synchro Monster is Summoned by adding the Tuner monster's level to the non-Tuner monster.
Dark Tuner's Level is 8, going by what we have now. To DSS a -2 monster, you would need a Level 6 non-Tuner monster. A Synchro Summon with the above monsters would be a Level 8 + Level 6 = Level 14.
Same with Conclusion 3.
EDIT: While I'm at it:
Thousand-Eyes Restrict's relation to this card: 1000 / -10 = -100

Use Jet-Black Zumwald ( Level -4 ) and Dark Tuner Chaosrogue/Catastrogue ( Level 8 ) equipped with Demotion.
Demotion is an Equip Spell which decreases the Level of the equipped monster by 2. The one where Ha Des pwns King of the Abyss.
Jet-Black Zumwald's Level - (Dark Tuner Chaosrogue's/Catastrogue's Level - 2)
-4 - (8 - 2)
-4 - 6
-4 + -6
-10
