My first tutorial, but a good one, so hopefully I might get some Rep!
Start off by saving this holo sheet:
Then open Paint.Net.
Now paste the card you want to holo-ify into the black canvas. I'll be using my "Giga Mech Cannon".
Next create a new layer (Layers > Add New Layer).
Paste the holo sheet that you saved earlier into the new layer, and carefully line it up on the card image.
Now the fun part! Go to Layers > Layer Properties and change the blending mode of the layer to Color Dodge. Mess with the opacity if you like, but fo best results leave it at 255.
You're almost done! Now simply go to Layers > Merge Layer Down, and voila! A simple, yet holo!
Don't forget to + Rep!

Um, it's a good tut but it's not a secret rare. A secret is where there is a sort of "pixel parrtern" in a checkerboard over the image.

Then what's with all the other Photoshop tuts saying "This is a secret rare"?

Well then they're wrong, simple as that.

Then how come the cards you get in collector's tins are "Secret Rare"?

'Cause they are Secret Rare and they have a "pixel checkerboard" holo pattern!

I see you've changed the title to holo's instead of secret rares. Good, now i've tried it and it works but it can be done easier.

Nice tutorial, even though most people knew how to do it already. Still, the only Paint.Net tutorial I've seen in ages!

Can I use this same steps with Gimp?

I'm not sure, as I don't have Gimp...
I suppose you could, as long as you can create layers and change the layer blending modes...

Yes you can adapt it to GIMP.

Is paralel rare real? I tought they were just rumors!

Jonas, what about Rainbow Dragon? First Parallel I've got...

And this can easily be adapted to any program. Heck, even Microsoft Paint, with a customized modification ofcourse

Yeah, they are real. I've had a bunch of them, cuz they used to come with all of the older games.
