"CLICK!" was the sound the door made when the 14 year old boy picked the lock to enter "The Johnson's Duel Shop." He crept in with ease closing the door behind him. He then walked over to a nearby counter and jumped over it.
"CLICK" was the sound made by the lights turning on. The boy froze knowing that he was caught. An old man walked in from the back door. He looked as if he had exepected this to happen.
The Old Man: What is your name son?
At the sound of the old man's voice, the boy ran to the door he entered. But before he could touch the handle of the door, he felt a yank on his collar.
Boy's thoughts: This old man is fast!
The boy's heart dropped. He knew the consequences for stealing Duel Monster Cards.
The Old Man: What is your name son.
Noris: My name is Noris sir.
Noris noticed that the old man's face didn't show any anger, which made it easier to tell him his name. The old man loosened his iron grip on Noris's collar.
Tenjii: Well my name is Tenjii. May I ask why you are in my shop at this time? Don't you know that my shop opens at 1pm and closes at 9pm?
Noris: Yes sir. I just........... wanted to get some cards for my friends.
Tenjii turned around and folded his arms.
Tenjii Well I could juist send you off to the PPM (Perunga Punishment Center)
Noris fell down to his knees. His heart fell and he felt cold. He could see it now. Inmates taking food of his lunch tray that wasn't even worth eating, and some guy named Bobby asking him to read uncensored letters sent by his girlfriend.
Noris: NO, PLEASE! DON'T SEND ME THERE. I'LL DO ANYTHING.
The old man was shaking up with laughter.
Tenjii: Don't be so dull boy. I was just being sarcastic.
The 2 symptoms came quickly. First, Noris was confused then he was angry.
Noris: You old bag! How dare you scare me like that. you could have given me a heart attack at my young age.
Tenjii's laugh became an uproar.
Noris: WHAT IN THE HELL IS SO FUNNY!
Tenjii's laugh faded away.He wiped the tears away from his eyes for laughing too hard.
Tenjii: Oh, you should have seen the your face. You looked liked a liile wining baby.
Noris's face flushed with embarrasment.
Tenjii; Look here Sonny. I won't send you to the PPC on one condition. You have to duel me and win.
Noris smirked
Noris; I accept.

That's when Tenjii noticed something very unique about Noris's Drawing skills. Then he realized it.
Tenjii: HEY! You Draw like the former Duelist Champion, Hazzen Tyawa!
Noris cracked a smile.
Noris: Yeah.............. He was my dad. He constructed this deck for me. He used to always tell me to stay strong and never give up. I live by this moto so that one day I can Become........ THE DUELIST CHAMPION!
Tenjii: HHHHHHHHHHUUUUUHHHHHHSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH..............
Noris looked at Tenjii to see that he had fallen asleep on his life goal story. Noris picked picked a nearby rock and threw it at the sleeping Tenjii. Tenjii awoke with a booming yell.
Tenjii: OOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!! WHO THROUGH THAT ROCK AT ME!!
Noris was pissed off now.
Noris: Well it's your falt for falling asleep on my life goal story!
Tenjii: No one asked to hear it! And besides, It was to long.
Noris clutched his fist.
Noris: IT WAS ONLY 1 MINUTE LONG YOU OLD BAG!
Tenjii folded his arms.
Tenjii: Well it must not have been much of a life goal story to only last 1 minute.
Noris was boiling with anger. Tenjii could see how mad Noris was and was satisfied. He wanted revenge since he threw a rock at him. Noris tried to calm down and finish the duel.
Noris: Lets just finish this duel. First I'll summon "Ancient Gear" from my hand in face-up defense position. And then I'll activate the effect of the "Ancient Gear" in my hand: If there is a face-up "Ancient Gear" on my side of the field, I can special summon it in attack position.

At his last word, a mini-tornado appeared on Tenjii's side of the and sped towards one of Noris's face downs. The face down flipped up and shattered into a million pieces.

Tenjii: Stop being so dramatic.
Noris started to shake his fist in the air.
Noris: Listen hear old man!! Just finish your turn!
Tenjii: Stop wining! Ok, "Junk Warrior" attack his attack positioned "Ancient Gear".
At his word "Junk Warrior" bolted towards "Ancient Gear" and destroyed it.

Noris: I'll activate the trap card known as "Turbo Space".
At his word, his faced down card flipped up.
Tenjii: Well....... what does it do?
Noris: You just wait and see!

Noris smiled. His hand was so good, that he could finish Tenjii off in this one turn.

Noris: Now I'll activate the ability the ability of my "Bolt Warrior": I can double his card level.
"Bolt Warrior" started to glow green.
Noris: Are you impressed yet?
Tenjii: Uhmmm..... Nope not really.
Noris: Well if you're not impressed yet, you just watch this. I'll tune my "Ancient Gear" with my "Bolt Warrior" to summon "Velocity Robo Warrior".

Noris: And when he's summoned, I can place 4 "Turbo Counters" on him. And for every "Turbo Counter" on him, he gains 300 Atk points. Then I'll activate the effect of my "Turbo Space": I can remove "Turbo Counters" available on "Turbo Space" and place them on an appropiate card on the field. So I'll place the 2 "Turbo Counters" from my "Turbo Space" on my "Velocity Robo Warrior" so he can gain 600 extra attack points.

The aurora around "Velocity Robo Warrior" swayed side-to-side uncontrollably.

Noris: Now destroy his "Junk Warrior".

Noris folded his arms. Tenjii walked towards Noris.
Tenjii: You're pretty good youngster. I haven't participated in a duel like that in many years. You're almost as good as your father.
Noris smiled. He flushed.
Tenjii: Alright, don't get all mushy on me. Here, give your friend this.
Tenjii passed Noris a Duel Monsters deck. Noris took it and placed in his pocket. Tenjii looked at Noris like he expected something.
Tenjii: Well.............
Noris: Well, what?
Tenjii: Nevermind. Hey that reminds me. The Golden Tournament starts 2 days from now. You and your friend should enter it.
The Golden Tournament took place every 3 years. The Best duelists from all over the world participated in this tournamentl after the qualifying rounds. Noris's father entered this tournament to become the Duelist Champion.
Noris: REALLY!!!
Noris jumped with joy.
Tenjii: Sure, I'll register you for the qualifying rounds, as long you as you never do that again.
Noris: Sure! Whatever it takes!
Tenjii: Okay, just bring your friend here later on today.

Noris: Reagan, aren't you excited.
Reagan: You bet!
Noris opened the door to the shop and they both entered. When Tenjii saw Noris, he walked over to him.
Tenjii: This must be your friend. What is your name son?
Reagan: My name is Reagan sir.
Tenjii: Well.... you definetly have more respect than your friend here.
Noris: I have an idea..... HOW ABOUT YOU SHUT UP AND REGISTER US ALREADY!
Reagan and Tenjii laughed.
Noris: What in the hell is so funny this time!
Tenjii walked towards the registration counter and Reagan followed him. Noris followed as well.
Tenjii: All I need is your names and your age.
Reagan: Reagan Sho and I'm 14.
Noris: Noris Tyawa and I'm 14.
Tenjii wrote the information down and placed it in a file named "Registration".
Tenjii: The qualifying rounds will begin 2 days. So........ Reagan do you lilke the "Dark Magician" deck I constructed for you.
Reagan: YEAH! IT'S GREAT!! My favorite monster is "Kuriboh"!
Reagan's reply was so loud that it left every one who was in the shop deaf for moment.
Customer: Hey! How about you keep it down you idiot!
Reagan's face flushed with embarrasment.
Tenjii chuckled. This annoyed Noris.
Noris: Hey! Stop laughing!
Tenjii: I'll laugh all I want! See! HAHAHA!
Reagan flushed even more. Tenjii noticed this and felt guilty.

The 2 days past by quickly. During those 2 days Reagan and Noris prepared their decks by taking out cards that didn't help them much and adding cards that did.

A man who had a Johnny Bravo haircut hosted the qualifying rounds.
Host: WELLLLLLLLLCOMMMME DUEL FANS! ARE YOU READY FOR SOME NECK BREAKING, HEART STOPPING, DREAM CRUSHING DUELS!
Crowd: YEAH!!!
The crowds reply boomed all through the stadium.
Meanwhile, in the contestant room:
Contestant1: Wow, these duels sure do sound dangerous.
Contestant2: He was being sarcastic.
Contestant1: Oh,.............. What does "sarcastic" mean?.............
Reagan: I wonder who our opponents will be.
At his final word, the host popped up on the screen for the contestants.
Host: ALRIGHT, IT'S TIME FOR THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS TO BEGIN!
Behind the host, a huge screen that would tell who would duel who appeared.
Crowd: YYEEEEEEAAAAAHHH!!
The host pointed at the screen.
Host: Each contestant will be paired randomly. NOW WE'LL START THIS TOURNAMENT OFF WITH REAGAN SHO VS. IDALIA CYDEN!
On the screen both of the names appeared.
Crowd: YYYEEEAAAHHH!!!
Noris: Well that's you Reagan.
Reagan: Ok, wish me good luck!
