Pokemon movie 12: Arceus and the Jewel of Life

Aired today on CN. Overall, I thought it was pretty good...well, as good as any of these "new" pokemon movies get. (Not even compitition to classics) The only thing that majorly bugged me was the voice of Arceus. What were they thinking? He sounded like some squeky old grandma yelling at her daughter. I think the voice of Damos would've fit much better. And they didn't even need Team Rocket in this one.

So, what do you guys think?

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni

That's right~ I started the thread about the pyscho horror anime that we all love ;D

It's seems to be the highlight of anime talk between the people I know in real life, so I decided to let that discussion be a part of the YCM life.

If you don't know what Higurashi is, please look it up and explain your thoughts on the images and description it gives. Sounds pleasent, doesn't it?

And although it's not as gore as Elfen Lied, it is much more creepy.

Let's discuss the wonders of Higurashi~

This series is wonderful~

I'm feeling a bit lazy, so I'm just gonna steal the plot summary from Wikipedia.

Summary Wrote:Genshiken follows the lives of a group of college students drawn together by their shared hobbies, and the trials and adventures associated with being otaku. The story begins with the introduction of Kanji Sasahara, a shy, confidence-lacking freshman who on club day at university, decides to join a club he would actually enjoy, Genshiken. Over his four years at Shiiou University, Sasahara comes to accept himself for who he is and loses the inhibitions and guilt he once felt and associated with otaku culture, becoming an enthusiastic clubmember, and for a time, a capable club president. As the story of Genshiken progresses, focus is also placed on Saki Kasukabe, a determined non-otaku who initially struggles to drag her boyfriend out of the club, and Chika Ogiue, a self-professed otaku-hater who feels a deep-seated shame and self-loathing toward her own interests and hobbies.

The manga feels so realistic and natural that reading or watching it is almost like you're at one of the club meetings, blabbing away about some anime you've just watched, or talking about the preparations for the next Com-fest. There's no magical flying girls, no special transformations, no giant robots, just normal, everyday otaku meeting up and discussing anime, reading Doujinshi, and playing video games.

There isn't exactly a plot to it, but it's not episodic, either.

There is a bit of romance, since Saki loves Kosahka enough to join an otaku club, but no way could Genshiken be confused for a Romance manga. Genshiken screams Slice of Life from every page. Generally, you'd think a story about a bunch of nerds buying porn and playing video games would be boring and dull, but Genshiken actually pulls it off, and then some. All the characters are pretty interesting and unique, and chances are, you'll easily relate to at least one of them.

So yeah, has anyone else seen it? *Crosses fingers*

Currently watching these subbed, up to 32 like they are in Japan. But i got to ask, is it better than the original, about the same, or worse?

Personally i think its better, because there is a lot more going on than BS that they had in the original. Its also a lot more darker.

I am serious wondering about this.
You can find people who like or hate action-paced stuff like DBZ and such.
You can find people who like or hate symbolic, religious and/or social commentary stuff like Evangelion or so.
But can you really find anybody that hates Cowboy Bebop? I can't.

This anime in my opinion is one of the best.Violence, murder,and an extremely thought out plot.It was put together very nicely.Thought it was a lot better before L croaked.Any opinions?

Gawd, this is a great manga. <3

A friend suggested this to me Friday, after reading the first chapter, I instantly became hooked and started watching the anime. Both of which were amazing~

There's a bit of shōnen-ai (<3), but if you're not into that, then it's really not enough to ruin the series for you. Well, maybe. But still, you should keep watching. Besides, they pull it off really well.

Oh, and for all you neko fans, everyone in the series is a catboy/girl~ (At least, until they lose their virginity. Then the ears go away with it xD)

So, am I the only one who has read/watched this~?

Who would play "Science Soldier" or "Cyber Soldier of Darkworld" just to play this card?

2) Machine Emperor Infinities suck!

This card gains ATK equal to the ATK of the monster(s) equipped to this card. This card gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all other "Wisel", "Skiel", and "?" monsters you control. When this card is destroyed, destroy all other monsters you control.

Machine Emperor Skiel Infinity
Other monsters you control cannot attack. Once per turn, you can equip 1 Synchro Monster your opponent controls to this card. This card gains ATK equal to the ATK of the equipped monster(s). This card gains ATK equal to the total ATK of all other "Wisel", "Skiel", and "???" monsters you control. When this card is destroyed, destroy all other monsters you control.

Notice glaring similarities effect-wise? Worst God-ish cards ever! These are just 5D's version of the Armor series from the original!!

3) While the GX comic book is pretty good in terms of art and story, I'm not so sure about the 5d's comic book. Maybe because the 5d's cartoon is way better than it's predecessors.

Big Beefy Guys playing Children's Card game!

Okay, heres how it works. Find a picture of a big beefy muscular guy who's playing Duel Monsters in the anime or manga. NOT ANUBIS. I swear, whenever i see him i remember that part where he was naked and i almost puked... Who does that? Where is the 4kid's censor?
