RE: Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU (Ch 9 UP)
Alright, I've been busy so far and had little free time left for this. But I will still continue this till the very end. And we head to a new arc...where we traverse to the Western Hemisphere itself.
Ch 10-Restless (Click to View) 22:17, 11 May 2092 Presidential Suite 58, Earth Sphere Federation HQ, New York Metropolitan Zone, New English Republic While it was already 3 a.m. long ago in Paris, the Revolution took off on autopilot towards the Atlantic Ocean and the New World beyond. To be more specific, it was heading for New York City of New English Republic. Since the beginning of the Occidental Union, it was decided that its 2 main states (Super-Union and Commonwealth) would reform all their territories. Thus, the regions in former North-eastern America would become the New English Republic, a generally rural and conservative community compared to her neighbours, the Economical Union of the Great Plains. However, there are large urban areas called Metropolitan Zones like New York or the capital, Boston. Within the Headquarters of the Earth Sphere Federation in New York, there is a series of suites reserved solely for high-level officials and head of states resting over. Among them, No. 58 is always reserved for the Overmind of Arcadius, Clair Kinet…or referred by her title of Overmind Millennial. Her High Knight Marin Defleto, Secretary-General Kim and a Spaniard officer of the Federation were standing at attention behind the sovereign. They were all observing a holoscreen showing radar of an incoming object towards New York. “So something is heading our way…eh?” the Overmind said, “why must you alert me of this matter, Mr. Kim?” “That thing could be heading for us…maybe from Neo al-Qaeda perhaps,” said the Spaniard officer, “I need to account this to the Chief Minister of New England right away!” “Just tell them not to worry, Colonel Alejandro,” said Kim, “look at its aptitude; it is rapidly decreasing so it won’t hit even the harbour or their famous Statue of Liberty.” “True, but…” Alejandro said, “…but we have no idea who they really could be & it is within our best interests to send someone out there.” “We will inform the local government to send…” said Kim. “NO, this is serious! We can’t just send in anyone,” Alejandro proclaimed, “if they are truly dangerous, we must send our best. Sir Marin, I’m sure you can fit in the criteria.” “I am honoured that you look up to me…” said Marin as he stared at a wall, “…but I know someone who is ready for it.” Suddenly, parts of a wall nearby changed colours. It became a Caucasian Knight of Arcadius in their common brown cloak. “Born ready!” proclaimed the Knight, “Knight-in-Training Blaine Tucker, I will uncover the truth and report back ASAP!” “Not what I wanted…but hope it can do…” thought Alejandro. 0000000000000000000000
What an irony, NAPEU got misperceived by the previous heroes & those who assigned them! But this is sadly how the ball rolls for organisations like them. In the streets of the “City that Never Sleeps”, a high-speed Riding Duel is set & the opponent is none than our young Knight of Arcadius…Riding Duel, Acceleration!!! 00000000000000000000
22:24, 11 May 2092 New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone, New English Republic True to the nickname as the “City that Never Sleeps”, even the night had endless plans of events occurring. The New York Harbour hosted a wide variety of ships ranging from military to foreign commercial ones there. Along the seaside streets closest to the Harbour, an unmanned D-Wheel was parked there. It was coloured mainly white & with a horse-like head in its design & a light frame for high mobility purposes. From a distance, 2 punks were admiring the D-Wheel before them. “Wow…cool wheels there,” one of them exclaimed. “Clyde, let’s say we take this thing apart and sell the scraps on the black market,” suggested the other guy. However, he was punched right in the gut by an unknown force and fell down. The first guy was frightened and picked up his partner before dashing off scared. Suddenly, the Knight appeared from his camouflage again, wearing a horse-like helmet. “Should’ve brought my camera along,” wondered the Knight as he turned sights to the sea, “now for that suspicious craft…” He then looked out towards the sea, where he saw only a streak of light heading towards the Harbour. That light; it was all that could be possibly seen from the speedy Revolution that traversed the lands and seas with so much ease, it slowly submerged its lower half into the sea below. He only continued observation until the Revolution halted by the Harbour waters. Inside the control brig of the Revolution, Victoria, Elise, Roger and Ali were there readying all preparations for their landing. “Alright, we have arrived at New York Harbour at last. Thanks for flying with the Revolution,” claimed Roger. “Ok Vicky, I’ll be out in the city for now,” said Elise as she left the brig. “Fine by me, you need some exercise,” said Victoria. A hatch of the upper regions of the Revolution opened up & the Ouroborus with Elise on it slowly moved outside. A ramp slid from the Revolution and the Ouroborus leaped off to the streets & took off. “Suspicious target located. D-Wheel Hercules, Blaine Tucker…pursuing the target!” Chris declared as his D-Wheel also zoomed off for a chase. As Elise rode around the corner of the streets, she quickly noticed Tucker’s Hercules chasing her in her dashboard. “Hey there, you looking for some trouble?” Elise called out. “No, it is you who is guilty of such,” said Blaine, “and I will bring you in!” “And you represent which force, the NYPD?” Elise inquired. “Not those pathetic fools, I belong with the Holy Empire of Arcadius,” replied Blaine as his eyes glowed. “A Psychic too, this can get very interesting…and so we play Speed World to commence,” said Elise. “Field Spell Speed World Set On. Duel Mode – Autopilot Standby.” With a simple press of a button, the energy of an invoked Speed World engulfed the whole streets of New York City. The busy locals of New York were mostly preoccupied with their routines to even bother with the Riding Duel under way. Meanwhile, on both the Revolution control brig & Suite 58 of the Federative Congress, both Overmind Millennial & Victoria were watching the duel with strong interest. “So we have some trouble…Elise could use some exercise anyway, I will let her be,” said Victoria. “It appears that there is quite a misunderstanding we have here,” Marin concluded, “Your Majesty, shall I call off the duel before any substantial damage were to occur?” “Don’t be such a spoilsport. This could be good,” said Alejandro. “Now I asked Her Majesty, not you…” Marin exclaimed. “Indeed, this will be quite entertaining for the night,” replied the Overmind, “but do inform my old friends and his parents about this first actual mission of his, Matthew & Candice Tucker.” “Of course, your word is my command,” replied the High Knight. Blaine (LP: 4000) Elise (LP: 4000)
“The persecutor shall commence his judgment first!” said Blaine as he drew, “I Summon the Gate Blocker in Defence Mode!” (100/2000) A portal opened up next to Hercules & it shot out a blast right in front of Elise’s way. A wall with an eye pattern appeared in front of Elise, trying to block her way & forcing her to pull back her speed. “I know that one; it stops me from getting any Speed Counters,” said Elise, “but it’s nothing I couldn’t get around.” “Oh really? Then we ought to see how long you could last,” said Blaine, “I’ll let you continue things from here.” After Blaine’s turn, it came to Elise’s first move. After she drew, the Speeds showed an increase, but only for Blaine. (1-0) Because of Gate Blocker, Elise was unable to get Speed Counters. “Damn, I can’t do much…but I can always Summon this gal out,” said Elise. Suddenly, a brunette female warrior appeared. She wore tattered green and brown clothes with a fedora hat. She pulled out her sword & wielded it well. (1100/1200) “Say hi to the Warrior Lady of the Wasteland,” said Elise, “too bad your Gate Blocker’s Defence is too high for me, but I can take that wall down another turn. I put a face-down & end turn.” “Draw,” said Blaine as he drew, (2-0) “and I Summon the Monster, Blizzard Dragon!” (1800/1000) A portal accompanied by a sudden cold breeze opened up on the track, causing random passer-bys to sneeze due to the cold. Out of it, a dragon appeared. It was medium-sized & was covered in ice-blue scales. “Blizzard Dragon, blast the Warrior Lady back to the Ice Age with your Blizzard Breath!” Blaine declared. Blizzard Dragon let out a roar & it unleashed a blast of icy wind & snow at Warrior Lady. She tried fending the cold winds off with the warmth of her cape, but eventually froze up & broke off in ice pieces. Blaine (LP: 4000) Elise (LP: 3300) Suddenly, in her place, a portal opened up. From it, a band of unruly mercenaries appeared. They looked at the opposing dragon & struck a look of cowardice. (1000/1000) “Thanks to my Warrior Lady, she leaves behind the Exiled Force to finish you off,” said Elise, “and I hope you know that its effect can destroy your Gate Blocker like a knife cutting butter.” “I’ll keep that in mind,” said Blaine, “I Set 2 face-down cards & end my turn.” 22:28, 11 May 2092 Presidential Suite 58, Earth Sphere Federation HQ, New York Metropolitan Zone It is not allowed for civilians to come up to any part of the Headquarters of the ESF, but exceptions had been allowed on request. In this case, it was the old friends of the Overmind, Matt Tucker & Candice Pryce, a couple happily married at last after an unhappy past in their youths. Currently, they were watching the Riding Duel between Blaine & Elise along with Marin, Kim and Overmind Millennial. “It seems that he is handling things very well here,” remarked Matt, “Candice, if our son’s so good at this, I still can’t see why you refuse to let him join.” “Because Blaine stands a better chance going to university than this,” Candice said, “once you become a Knight for real, it will be for life.” “Yah, no way we could reverse that,” Marin agreed, “it is a sole swore rule made in a most solemn vow of law during the First Holy Empire period which existed before Babylon, Rome, Egypt or even Atlantis.” “But Blaine is so interested in the affairs of Arcadius…and he’s like one of you…” Matt cried. “If I did have a choice in what I want to produce, I would rather have a non-Psychic!” Candice cried, “If I must, I would turn that ingrate into popsicle!” “Shush now, you two! I’m trying to watch the show,” said Kim, looking intensively at the holoscreen. 22:24, 11 May 2092 New York Streets, New York Metropolitan Zone, New English Republic Zooming in the New York streets, Elise made her next draw of a card & Blaine’s Speed increased again (3-0) “Now to tear down Berlin Wall, I activate the Exiled Force’s effect,” Elise declared, “by sending it to the Graveyard; I can destroy your monster…your Gate Blocker to be specific.” Suddenly, the Exiled Force held onto their various weapons & made a final charge towards the Gate Blocker up front. However, they were suddenly struck by lightning from the sky. “I activate the Trap Card called Divine Wrath,” said Blaine, discarding Blizzard Warrior, “by discarding a card, I can negate an Effect Monster’s powers and also destroy it.” “Don’t forget I still haven’t Normal Summoned yet this turn,” reminded Elise, “thus I can Summon Rahz the Field Commander.” (1600/1200) Suddenly, another Warrior appeared before Elise; a brunette & held a pair of swords in his hands. “I’m not scared of him, he’s not a match to my Blizzard Dragon,” noted Blaine, “Surely you don’t want to be left without monsters to defend yourself.” “By Summoning him, I can add a Warrior monster to the top of my deck,” said Elise. Her deck then slid out the card she apparently needed and she set it on top of her deck. “Instead, I declare the attack upon your Gate Blocker now!” Elise declared. “Is the gal mad or something?” exclaimed Alejandro. Suddenly, Elise’s face-down card opened up and Rahz’s attack suddenly became more forceful as it impacted with Gate Blocker. (2300/1600) To nearly everyone’s surprise, the Gate Blocker was slowly cracking apart & broke into rocks pieces. Without it anymore, her Ouroborus tried to move off sideways. Blaine (LP: 3700) Elise (LP: 3300) “But how is that possible…” exclaimed Kim, “that Defence was too high in the first place.” “But activating Strike Slash gives him 500 more Attack Points for this round and he can deal through defences too,” said Elise, “at least I managed to get rid of your Gate Blocker.” “…Not really…activate Trap Card, Broken Blocker,” said Blaine as his own face-down opened, “it was triggered by you destroying Gate Blocker and it can Summon 2 more copies of the same monster you destroyed.” Suddenly, the remaining debris of the original Gate Blocker reformed into 2 Gate Blockers. Both of them stood ominously in front and by the side of Elise and her Ouroborus, sealing off her path once again. “Can’t get rid of these things, I end my turn with 2 face-downs,” concluded Elise. Two face-down cards appeared beside the Ouroborus & vanished within the space of a few seconds while Rahz returned to its original values. (1600/1200) Blaine saw this & just drew his card as they turned by a traffic junction at a red light. (4-0) “Alright, I Summon the Ice Knight in Attack Position,” declared Blaine. Suddenly, a humanoid form appeared beside the ice dragon. It was covered thoroughly with ice-blue armour with a similarly-coloured cloak. He carried a lance seemingly made of ice. (1300/1200) “And as for his effect, he gains 400 Attack Points for every Aqua Monster on the field…including himself,” said Blaine, (1700/1200) “Ice Knight, attack her Field Commander Rahz!” “Activate Trap Card, Dark Mirror Force!” Elise exclaimed. Ice Knight suddenly leaped and pierced onto Rahz’s plated armour & easily destroyed him. However, that impact caused a sudden rebound strike that vapourised the 2 Gate Blockers as well. Blaine (LP: 3700) Elise (LP: 3200) “The Dark Mirror Force, it is a special type of Mirror Force that can removes all your Defence Position monsters,” explained Elise, “thanks for taking the bait like a good fish.” “Not that it did anything to stop my attack. Blizzard Dragon, attack her directly!” Blaine commanded. Blizzard Dragon roared again as it flew over Elise & unleashed a blast of its cold winds upon her. However, Elise simply discarded her Quillbolt Hedgehog and she was guarded by a barb-wire type barrier. “I activated Card Defence, which can negate Battle Damage by discarding a card and then allows me to replace it,” said Elise as she drew another one. “Alright, I end my turn now!” said Blaine impatiently. This time, Elise drew…and her Speed Counter finally increased, but she was still far behind her opponent’s. (5-1) “At least I’m catching up to you,” said Elise, “and time to turn things around. I Summon the Turbo Synchron in Attack Mode!” (100/500) Suddenly, a small green motor-like machine appeared. It had 2 cartoonish eyes looking seriously forward. “A toy…you gotta be kidding me!” Blaine cried. “Since I got a Tuner Monster on the field, I can Special Summon the Quillbolt Hedgehog in Defence Mode,” said Elise as the quill-plated hedgehog appeared, (800/800) “and now…Turbo Synchron, show that Blizzard Dragon what you are made of!” “Say what?!” exclaimed Alejandro. Suddenly, the Turbo Synchron turned around and its jets launched it off towards the Blizzard Dragon. The tiny machine extended out its tiny fist, ready to punch into the Dragon. “Huh? You looking to be defeated here?” wondered Blaine. However, the Blizzard Dragon covered its body with its wings for the attack. The impact of Turbo Synchron was decisively deflected back to Elise due to the stronger defence of Blizzard Dragon. Blaine (LP: 3700) Elise (LP: 2300) “When my Turbo Synchron destroys a monster, it is shifted to Defence Mode for one thing,” said Elise, “and for another thing, it allows me to Special Summon a monster whose Attack is equal to the Damage I just took…like this here Shield Warrior.” Suddenly, a new Warrior appeared. It was somewhat scrawny and carried a wooden spear and wooden shield. (800/1600) “With enough monsters on the field now, I can Tune Turbo Synchron, Quillbolt Hedgehog and Shield Warrior together,” said Elise, “though I hate to say it, but let’s rev it up!” Suddenly, Turbo Synchron charged far forward & dissolved into a single ring. It quickly passed through the other 2 monsters, which also dissolved into 5 stars. “Gathering stars move on to lead now to a new road. A road where there is freedom and soar the greatest heights. Synchro Summon!” chanted Elise as a beam of light erupted, “Roar engines, Turbo Warrior!” (2500/1500) Suddenly, an odd crimson red warrior appeared. Unlike a regular Warrior, it boded the image of a Machine at the same time. What that could be described as the monster’s “hair” was actually a metal plate styled in a Japanese punk hairstyle. It’s only seen weapons were apparently its 2 claws. “And since this is no longer the Battle Phase, count yourself lucky that I can’t attack now,” said Elise, “I end my turn here and now.” “And it’s my turn now,” said Blaine, (6-2) “I use my Blizzard Dragon’s effect and seal off your monster’s attack! Go, Blizzard Wing!” Suddenly, the Blizzard Dragon flapped its 2 wings for a gust of cold icy winds at Turbo Warrior. However, it seemed to hold no effect on it. “Why it’s not working?” Blaine exclaimed. Suddenly, Candice’s voice rang up inside his helmet’s earpiece. The sound symbol popped up there too. “Blaine, you fool,” said Candice’s voice, “Turbo Warrior’s effect allows it to be immune to the effects of your monster.” “Mom, is that you?” asked Blaine. “Yes, and you are in big trouble if anything happens to you…” said Candice’s voice, “…so please be safe.” “Yes, Madam!” cried Blaine loudly, “since I cannot attack a stronger monster, I put my 2 monsters into Defence Mode.” With that, the Ice Knight knelt with his cape covering his whole body. Blizzard Dragon also covered itself with its wingspan. “And I end my turn,” said Blaine and Elise wasted no time to draw her card. (7-3) She looked at the drawn card and glimpsed at the other one she got; it was Speed Spell – Silver Contrails. “Just great…two cards…and no monsters,” thought Elise, “to make things worse, those cards can only be used next turn…” “Turbo Warrior, attack the Ice Knight with Accel Slash now!” Elise declared. Turbo Warrior turned back to face the 2 Ice monsters again and its 2 jets fired off towards them again. It reached out its claw as it glowed red-hot and cut Ice Knight like butter. “And with a face-down; my turn is ended,” finished Elise. “Now’s my turn,” said Blaine as he drew a certain Tuner, (8-4) “Yes! I Summon Ice Blast User Rice in Attack Mode now.” Suddenly, a humanoid figure appeared. It was somewhat female-like and wore blue armour. (800/800) “And oh yeah, it’s a Tuner,” said Blaine, “Guess what happens next?” “Synchro Summon…” Victoria spoke. Suddenly, Rice was frozen in an ice block and shattered into shards. Suddenly, 2 rings of light were formed and surrounded Blizzard Dragon; it dissolved into 4 stars too. The new formation appeared directly in front of the Ouroborus. “Blowing blizzard, become the majesty of the glamorous Aurora!” chanted Blaine, “Synchro Summon! Roar, Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier!” Suddenly, the whirlwind dispersed altogether & revealed a new creature. It was a serpentine dragon crafted completely out of ice. It spanned its 2 ice wings widely with shining aurora as it roared and blew out the cold air. (2300/1400) “And by discarding my cards on hand, I can send that same number back to yours,” said Blaine, “go, Blizzard Gust!” He held his 2 cards (Skill Successor and Driving Show) and quickly discarded them. With that, Brionac’s 2 icy wings flapped and unleashed a wave of cold air at the fending Turbo Warrior. However, the intense cold gust seemed to hold no effect on it while the face-down Synchro Destructor returned to her hand. “What just happened? It should’ve also been gone packing!” Blaine fretted. “You know, that effect is applicable to any monster of Level 6 or below,” spoke Candice’s voice. “Just great!” cried Blaine, “but at least I know what you have. I end my turn now.” Elise wasted no time and quickly drew her next card. With that done, their Speeds increased yet again. She looked at the Monster Card drawn and smiled. (9-5) “Just what I needed…” she thought. “With a total of 5 Speed Counters, I play the Speed Spell – Silver Contrails!” said Elise, “and this will let my Turbo Warrior some more wind under those jets…1000 more Attack Points.” Suddenly, a gust of silver wind stirred up and Turbo Warrior glowed in that same silver shade. (3500/1500) “Turbo Warrior attacks your Dragon of the Ice Barrier now!” Elise declared as Turbo Warrior’s jets fired off towards Brionac. “Don’t be too hasty, I got a Plan A for this,” said Blaine, “by removing the Skill Successor that I sent to the Graveyard on my previous turn, my monster gains 800 Attack Points.” The phantom form of Skill Successor card appeared and was absorbed into the ice dragon. Suddenly, it roared and gained more power in it. (3100/1400) “And here comes the bad news, when my Turbo Warrior attacks a Level 6 or higher Synchro Monster, its Attack will be halved!” Elise revealed, “High-Rate Power!” Suddenly, Turbo Warrior launched a purple toxic cloud of toxic at Brionac and it was weakened by it. (1550/1400) Suddenly, Turbo Warrior flew straight towards Brionac and crushed it into ice shards. (8-5) Blaine (LP: 1750) Elise (LP: 2300) Elise then slowed down her Ouroborus so that she would be next to Blaine. She held out the very card she drew out this turn, a Monster Card. “This is my Trap Tinker, a unique Tuner Monster that I can discard like so,” said Elsie as she discarded it away, “and then, I may play a Trap Card in my hand…and there’s only one card left.” “Synchro Destructor…” Blaine said, “bring it on, I can still live through it.” “Son, you’ll lose…” said Candice, “if Synchro Destructor was activated upon the destruction of another Synchro, the damage dealt would be doubled.” Suddenly, the Trap Card appeared and it projected 2 energy images of Brionac. They then flew towards Blaine and his Hercules and engulfed him in it. Blaine (LP: 0) Elise (LP: 2300)
Since Blaine lost the duel, his Hercules came to a sudden halt and it slid off road. Their duel overall indirectly forced the entire traffic of New York to a mass congestion. Elise stopped by to assist him. “Why are you…helping me?” wondered Blaine, “we are merely strangers, after all.” “That was before we connected our souls with a man’s duel,” said Elise. 22:46, 11 May 2092 Presidential Suite 58, Earth Sphere Federation HQ, New York Metropolitan Zone Although the duel was finished long ago, the receiver was still active. Everyone heard the afterword spoken after the duel. “Guess Sutherland chose his men right,” said Millennial, “and Candice, pardon me for saying this, but your son has a lot potential and it would be a shame to let it slip.” “I don’t know…I just don’t know,” said Candice. “Worry not, Miss Candice,” Marin reassured, “I will ensure that young Blaine lives on. I am way past my prime and it’s time for the young to take over; we no longer have any rights to hold them back.” “Alright…” said Candice as she started crying and dug into Matt for a shoulder. “Strangely, the Chief Ministers claimed they never even noticed the incoming object at all,” Kim pointed out, “Alejandro, you said they already knew…” However, during all this time, Colonel Alejandro had long left the suite already. 22:46, 11 May 2092 New York Streets, New York Metropolitan Zone, New English Republic Meanwhile, in the New York streets, while Elise helped out with Blaine, the other drivers were obviously mad and the mess they stirred up. Thus, both of them decided to help out in clearing the mess with the help of the New York Police Department. While Elise pulled out a jammed car door, she suddenly received a call from Victoria on the holoscreen. “Elise, about that duel you were involved in,” said Victoria, “turns out there was a problem of misunderstanding and now, New York suffers a traffic jam.” “I know, I’m clearing it up too,” said Elise, “it’s only just for me to clean up the mess I had made, I will be back by midnight…if everything goes right. Elsewhere, the two same cloaked men who were seemingly behind the kidnap of General Tianan were lounging in their shadowed hidden base. A small holoscreen with sound waves was projected to them, saying a pure audio message. “Master Geis, NAPEU is confirmed to have landed in New England,” spoke the contorted voice, “further actions required, Master?” “No need to act so harsh, you may be offline,” spoke the trench-coated man, called Gies. Suddenly, the small holoscreen disappeared and the 2 men focused their attention towards another one. It featured a certain news broadcast from abroad. “The shoer against the then-High Minister of the Advanced Eurasian Union, Alberto van Stenberg, had been undergone a retrial and re-detainment, charged with terrorism in addition to original charges of insulting the Union Ministry. In addition, his twin brother, Antonio van Stenberg, was charged of conspiracy against justice and would be sentenced to prison. The Benelux Parliament also declared the complete strip of the Stenberg Family’s status and rights as nobility.” “You heard that, Arep,” said Geis as he turned to the other blue-black cloaked man, “I want to take you to take that man to us.” NAPEU Archive (Click to View)

After that night rush in New York, we take our eyes away from our heroes for a while. In Europe, the trial for Alberto had concluded and his sentence was set. Arep, a disciple of the mysterious Master Geis, was called on informed on this. Next on Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU-Ch 11-Jailbreak! Siberia will be set ablaze… |

Ch 11-Jailbreak (Click to View)
08:42, 12 May 2092 AEU Supreme Court, Athens, Republic of Hellas, AEU Upon the cradle of Western civilization and also known as Greece, it was merely morning at that time. However, a serious judgment was underway in its capital. The terrorist secretly bombing all over the AEU was identified as Alberto van Stenberg and he was under trial again for his crimes. This matter was rather serious for it even affected the Benelux itself. Alberto was standing over behind bars of the defendant’s stand, well-handcuffed and guarded by two Bulgarian securities. The Hellenic judge and AEU High Minster of Justice, Theodore Papaticus, sat upon his chair and looked over the entire courtroom. “By the power invested in me, I hereby officially declare Alberto van Stenberg is guilty of the said charges accused upon him and therefore sentenced for life in Siberian Facility for State-Offensive Elements,” declared Papaticus, “guards, please escort van Stenberg to the copter taking him to his confinement!” With that, the 2 Bulgarians opened up the caged defendant’s stand and dragged Alberto out. However, Alberto was not the least bit cooperative at all. “You tyrants! One day, you’ll fall!” cried Alberto, “We are not your slaves! We don’t serve you! I will break out that hellhole and destroy you AEU!!!” 00000000000000000000
Well, Alberto was sentenced live to Siberia this time, but the additional charges are just too much. But if you think he would be locked up forever, then you are quite mistaken. For some possibly malicious reasons, Master Geis has some use for him and sent Alberto to retrieve him. As a diligent prison guard, Natasha Zabigov can’t just let the prisoner run amok, so she too must gear up for a duel.

05:26, 12 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone Morning in East Europe, then midnight would be upon New York. The Revolution was allowed to be docked there and it casted a shadow over the dark waters of New York. While most people should be asleep, the common New Yorkers were always active. However, one of those active peoples is not a New Yorker. Vladimir stood over the edge of the Revolution, overlooking into the waters below. He grabbed onto a bottle of beer and simply gulped it down his throat. Elise suddenly came up and saw him. “Oh Elise, how is it?” asked Vladimir. “I’m alright, but the real question is whether you’re okay,” said Elise, “I know what happened back then…in Moscow with van Stenberg and Zabigov.” “You don’t know anything!” Vladimir snapped, crushing the bottle with his bare hands, “…Zabigov, she was quite a talent in the ranks. She was about to be promoted to a higher post as Chief of Security in Helsinki Parliament…until that incident. Her hand was cut off and the Military Ministry decided to let her work elsewhere.” “A prison warden in Siberia,” said Elise, “they are those military outcasts due to several disabilities; now’s that quite a drop from working in Finland, where it can work closely with Scandinavia.” “AEU military system is quite elitist; they will almost always weed out the weak by all means to strengthen their power,” Vladimir explained, “and I caused her to this point. It’s all my fault for her misfortune; I have no guts to see her again.” “Just look at your hand,” Elise said, “you better go to the infirmary.” It was only until then that Vladimir actually noticed that his hand was bleeding due to him crushing the glass. 17:26, 12 May 2092 Siberian Facility for State-Offensive Elements, Independent Republic of Siberia, AEU Within the cold iron walls of the Facility, Natasha Zabigov’s every step was akin to intense pounding on the floor. The door slid as she came in a hallway of cells. Those cells were all filled with its inmates, all charged for disrespect towards the AEU or AEU citizens insulting allied nations. As they saw the warden’s arrival, their reaction was a constant stream of jeers, boos and curses in their various languages. “Those fools, I never did understand them, but I can guess,” Natasha murmured, “too bad that I was too slow back in Moscow.” Despite the inmates’ uproar, she continued walking on her way. Until she reached the cell for their most recent inmate, she looked up and saw Alberto van Stenberg. “It’s been quite a while already,” said Natasha, “can’t believe you use your own twin brother as a scapegoat.” However, Alberto was completely silent towards her comments and turned away from her. “Oh, the silent treatment you’re giving me,” said Natasha, “well, I got just…” Suddenly, the red warning lights were on and Natasha’s holo-phone beeped. She picked it up and received a message. “What’s this? An intruder!” Natasha exclaimed, “What kind of intruder breaks in a jailhouse? He must be a complete nutcase!” Meanwhile, the protective dome the Facility was set in had been breached by outside forces and now left open for anyone to come and go as they please. The supposed intruder was seen in the artificial snowstorm, but only vaguely and shadowed. The surrounding 4 guards all stood with their laser rifles to shoot down the threat. Suddenly, the intruder held something in his hand; a rectangular object similar to a Duel Monsters Card. He hurled it towards the guards and grazed all their hands and disabled their weapons. Without any major threats, the intruder walked inside. The intruder donned black robes that extended into a hood. His robes were mainly black, but had deep blue accents. On his left arm, he wielded quite a unique Duel Disk. It was pure black, just like his robes; beared resemblance to a dragon with the deck holder looking like a dragon’s jaws. “This is too easy,” said Arep, walking within the chambers, “now…where is he?” The hallway door slid open as Arep made his entrance there. The prisoners there all saw him and growled at him. Despite this, Arep continued walking along and glancing to his sides. “Hello there, you intruder,” Natasha greeted, “mind I guide you on your way here.” Natasha walked out over the other side of the hallway and she carried her own Duel Disk; a variation coloured aquamarine similar to the AEU design. “You know, I just can’t let you run amok,” Natasha said, “the higher-ups would be pissed off.” “Zip it woman!” Arep snapped as he threw another card like a shuriken at the warden. However, Natasha easily brushed the card off with a sweep of her hand. Suddenly, her right hand glove loosened up into shreds and revealed her metallic hand. “A metal hand…quite interesting,” said Arep, “I am Arep, disciple of the Master Geis. Through him, we shall lead the world to a wondrous revolution from this deplorable state. But to accomplish that, I must take Alberto van Stenberg with me.” “No way in my life will I just give you a prisoner?” Natasha exclaimed. “Perhaps my Master can do you a favour…like a brand new hand,” said Arep. “I’m not some greedy b**** here; I’m a proud soldier of the Advanced Eurasian Union!” Natasha stressed, “And I won’t let anyone buy me out. So prepare yourself for a duel!” “Ha, but I must warn you…I’m quite ruthless,” Arep cautioned. He showed his entire Disk and the entire Card Zones extended out in full. Both players quickly drew out their 5 cards each. Arep (LP: 4000) Natasha (LP: 4000) “And to begin, I draw,” Arep claimed as he drew his card, Chain of the Underworld. He first looked at his hand and then, he discarded his Dark Creator card. “By discarding a Level 5 or higher DARK Monster, I Summon the Dark Grepher in Attack Mode!” said Arep. (1700/1600) Suddenly, a shadowy form appeared. It looked like an exact copy of Dai Grpher, but it seemed more evil with those glowing red eyes. “By his effect, I can send a Dark Monster from my Deck to the Graveyard by discarding another such card,” said Arep. He then discarded Spirit Reaper from his hand and then, his Jinzo card slid out of his Deck and it was sent to the Graveyard slot. “And I Normal Summon Dark Blade in Attack Mode,” said Arep. Suddenly, a gaunt armoured warrior appeared. He was decked in black spiky armour with a flowing blood red cape. He was armed with two swords and only his eyes were seen. (1800/1500) “Lastly I Set 1 face-down and end my turn,” said Arep. “And then, I draw,” said Natasha, “I Summon the Cyber Tutu in Attack Mode!” (1000/1000) In a flash of sparkling light, a human-like form appeared and spun around gracefully. It was clad in a red and green bodysuit and wore ballet shoes and frills on the waistline. She wore a transparent visor over her eyes. “Nice monster…for my own to crush most mercilessly,” Arep remarked. “We’ll see about that,” Natasha said, “Cyber Tutu, attack now!” Cyber Tutu leaped up and spun rapidly like a proper ballerina, heading towards her opponent’s side. “You have lost it, both monsters can easily crush you dear Cyber Tutu on their own,” said Arep, “if you wished your defeat, I could grant you so. No need to bring it upon yourself.” However, Cyber Tutu was not going for the 2 monsters. Instead, she was aiming for Arep with a swift kick at his ribs. Arep (LP: 3000) Natasha (LP: 4000)
“My Cyber Tutu can attack you directly when you control only monsters with an Attack score higher than Cyber Tutu’s,” Natasha explained, “and I Set a face-down and end my turn." “And I draw,” said Arep as he got Spear Cretin in his hand and then looked at another Monster Card in his hand. “Everything’s set…” thought Arep. “I Release both Dark Grepher and Dark Blade in order to Advance Summon Dark Tuner – Nightmare Hand!” Arep proclaimed. Suddenly, both monsters were enveloped into one portal, and a tall grim-looking entity appeared. It was purple in colour and had a marking similar to an eye. (0/0) “A high-Level Monster with zero Attack and Defence…I don’t like it…” Natasha remarked. “Now that it is Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 2 or below DARK Monster…like this Spear Cretin here,” said Arep. (500/500) Suddenly, a tiny goblin with a horn and wings appeared. It looked sly and carried a tiny spear. “Level 10 Dark Tuner – Nightmare Hand…Level 2 Spear Cretin…commence Dark Tuning!” Arep cried. Nightmare Hand spread out its arms and it dissolved into darkness with 10 stars within it. The darkness went over towards Spear Cretin and engulfed it, forming into a sphere of darkness. Inside the sphere of blackness, Spear Cretin looked terrified as it was surrounded by the ten stars that bulged their way into it. Then, it grew transparent and four of the stars shattered. Its remnant form was one in pain as it shattered and the resulting eight stars turned black. “What’s going on? What’s this Dark Tuning?” Natasha exclaimed. However, she was only met with a snicker from Arep as he made off a chant. “When the curtain of darkness descends down, the eyes of the Underworld will open,” Arep chanted, “…Swoop down…Darkness!” Suddenly, the dark sphere expanded and sparked off trances of dark lightning. Multiple eyes were opening up throughout the dark sphere. “What in Hell is that?” Natasha exclaimed. “Dark Synchro…” Arep spoke, “Show yourself, One-Hundred Eye Dragon!” (30000/2500) With that last cry, the sphere bursted open and showed a large black dragon. Unlike common dragons, this one had eyes throughout its entire body, giving it a rather grotesque appearance. “What in Hell’s name is that infernal beast?” Natasha demanded. “I already say it! It is a Dark Synchro, a monster of the Level Negative Eight,” Arep said. “Negative Levels?! Is that even possible?” Natasha exclaimed again. “As you can plainly see, this is very possible…due to the powers of the Underworld,” said Arep, “but you shall first witness the might of its roar. Attack her Cyber Tutu with Infinity Sight Stream!” Suddenly, One-Hundred Eye Dragon roared and gapped its mouth. A pinkish energy ray was formed inside it and it fired its ray off towards Cyber Tutu. “Activate Trap Card, Revolution – Trick Battle!” Natasha declared as the card opened, “This will alter this battle and destroy your dragon instead.” “Fool, you must be looking down upon the powers of the Underworld. I activate One-Hundred Eye Dragon’s effect…or rather Jinzo’s!” Arep said, “Since it is alone on the field, it can mimic the effects of any other DARK Monster in my Graveyard and I choose Jinzo’s effect to negate Traps.” Suddenly, the huge eye on the dragon’s chest opened up and cast the image of Jinzo. It then fired a blast at Revolution – Trick Battle and it returned to face-down position. “And now, where was I…oh yeah, I was gonna destroy your pitiful excuse for a monster!” Arep recalled, “Infinity Sight Stream!” With that, One-Hundred Eye Dragon fired off its blast straight at Cyber Tutu and easily destroyed her with that single blow. The attack was so intense that Natasha herself was struck too and forced back. Arep (LP: 3000) Natasha (LP: 2000) “So how do you like the power of the Dark Synchro first-hand?” Arep asked. Natasha took some time to recover from the fall, but she realised that the attack ripped off her right sleeve and revealed her bare white skin. “Hmm…your skin’s rather smooth,” Arep remarked, “and it looks like it could need some warmth.” “Just carry on your our fight here!” Natasha barked. “Ok, here I end my turn already,” Arep concluded. “And I draw,” said Natasha, “I Summon thee Cyber Gymnast in Attack Mode!” (800/1800) Suddenly, another female form appeared. It was more muscular than Cyber Tutu and had her hair tied to a single long ponytail at the back. “This monster can destroy a face-up Attack Position Monster by discarding 1 card from my hand,” said Natasha as she discarded Fusion Recovery from her hand and the Gymnast leaped for her attack. “Activate Counter Trap, Phantom of Darkness,” Arep declared, “this Trap Card negates an effect targeting a DARK Monster and destroys that card.” As Cyber Gymnast made her attack, One-Hundred Eye Dragon’s eyes glowed and blasted her back with its deadly rays. “Then, I sip my Battle Phase and move on to my second Main Phase,” Natasha declared, “where I may play Emergency Assistance, and revive a Level 4 Monster destroyed this turn.” Suddenly, Cyber Gymnast reappeared and she knelt down in front of Natasha. (800/1800) “And I Set 2 face-down cards…” said Natasha, “…and end my turn.” “Draw,” said Arep, “I activate One-Hundred Eye Dragon’s effect again, mimicking my Dark Grepher instead!” Suddenly, the dragon’s eye projected the image of Dark Grepher. He then discarded his Shadowpriestess of Ohm and a card slid out of his Deck and he showed it. It was Darkness Destroyer and he slid it into his Graveyard slot. “One-Hundred Eye Dragon, activate the powers of Darkness Destroyer!” Arep cried. Suddenly, One-Hundred Eye Dragon opened its chest eye again and cast a reflection of Darkness Destroyer. “Darkness Destroyer’s effect allows him to attack twice per turn and each blow can damage through any defences your monsters can build up,” said Arep, “One-Hundred Eye Dragon, Infinity Sight Stream!” Suddenly, One-Hundred Eye Dragon unleashed a powerful death ray towards Cyber Gymnast. She was easily engulfed by the blast and she was gone. The blast then hit Natasha again, inflicting her much damage. Arep (LP: 3000) Natasha (LP: 800)
“Too easy, it is all over now,” said Arep, “One-Hundred Eye Dragon, put her out of her misery! Infinity Sight Stream!” One-Hundred Eye Dragon then fired another blast from its mouth and it went directly for Natasha herself. Her only hope was a certain card she placed. “Activate Dark Wall of Wind!” Natasha declared, “This card can prevent you from attacking me directly this turn.” True to her words, the attack was stopped halfway by a tornado-like gust of black winds. “And it works as it is a Spell Card,” said Natasha. “Think you’re so clever, well you’re not the least bit such!” said Arep, “Activate Trap Card, Chain of the Underworld!” Suddenly, an iron chain bursted out and reached out into Natasha’s Graveyard slot. Suddenly, Cyber Gymnast appeared in upright position and bound by the chains. (100/1800) “This card can Special Summon your recently destroyed monsters back to you, but it will be in Attack Mode and 700 points weaker,” said Arep, “you can draw a card in exchange for this gift though. Natasha drew another card, but realised it was Polymerisation only; a dead draw to her. “But you already attacked me twice, so you have to end your turn or what,” Natasha claimed. “I activate the effect of my One-Hundred Eye Dragon again, let us see what we got,” said Arep. Suddenly, One-Hundred Eye Dragon casted off a new monster on its eye. It was a pitch-black giant creature with a pair of red wings. “The Dark Creator! I’m in trouble now…” Natasha exclaimed. “Indeed you are,” Arep agreed as his Dark Grepher slid out of his Graveyard, “by removing Dark Grepher, I can Special Summon another DARK Monster like my Dark Blade.” Suddenly, a phantom of Dark Grepher appeared and One-Hundred Eye Dragon crunched it with its mouth. Suddenly, its hundred eyes glowed intensively and the dark armoured knight reappeared. (1800/1500) “I’ve lost the fight…” Natasha muttered. “I believe it to be my Battle Phase still,” said Arep, “Dark Blade attacks the Cyber Gymnast with Dark Blade Slash!” Dark Blade charged towards Cyber Gymnast, and defeated her with one slash of his cold blade. The strike caused a backlash right at Natasha bluntly at her chest and she collapsed. Arep (LP: 3000) Natasha (LP: 0)
After that, Arep looked on to her as he approached her. He kept a sinister look on him with a malicious intent. He then bent down, ready to grab something. “Couldn’t pass up the chance, it’s such a dream,” Arep claimed. However, he only dug into her pockets. After a while, he took out a small key card. “But sadly, you are too weak for my tastes,” said Arep, “now back to business…” Inside Alberto’s cell, he laid quietly in there. To him, it was obvious that his outcry was over and could only wallow in his own ultimate defeat. However, the bared door opened up and Arep looked at the Dutch national. “Hello there, I am only referred to as Arep,” he said, “and you must be van Stenberg. I represent a powerful figure who sympathises with you and wish to accept you into our society, where you may fulfil your mandate.” Alberto was silent to his words and looked up at him, staring into him intensively. Arep was perfectly calm throughout all this. After moments of silence, Alberto stood up and grinned at Arep. 08:32, 12 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone Back in the Revolution, Vladimir and Elise were at the infirmary. Vladimir had wrapped his hand in bandages to contain his wound. Suddenly, his holo-phone rang and Chiming’s face was seen. “What’s up, Chiming?” asked Vladimir. “Well…it’s about Natasha…” Chiming spoke. “What about her? Speak Up!” he demanded. “Ok! She’s found injured and now sent for treatment,” Chiming confessed. “Send me the coordinates to that place…now;” said Vladimir, “and Elise, please inform your sister of my temporary leave.” He turned off his phone and dashed out of the infirmary. Along his way out, he just crossed paths with Victoria, but continued on his way. “What’s up with him?” wondered Victoria. “Let’s just say that Vladimir has some personal issues to settle first,” said Elise, “may I follow him before he does something stupid.” “Alright, but you should know that we are putting forward the plan to infiltrate the Dixies,” Victoria noted, “Once he is done, join us in the Dixies.” “Yes of course,” said Elise as she walked off, following Vladimir out. While in the AEU Army, Natasha Zabigov had made a good name out of herself. Thus, she was prided as a great member of the cohort and gained the respect of many veterans and comrades, both in the AEU Army and other Special Autonomous Forces related to Eurasia, such as the French Foreign Legion. She was about to be posted to Finland’s capital, however fate dealt her a bad hand. During one of her last missions in Moscow, her hand was severed during an escort and that rendered her future prospects to be terminated. In the end, her good relations with superiors allowed them to not expel her from their forces, but allowed her to stay on as a Prison Official in Siberia. Despite her downfall, she was known to be an optimist in all this and kept positive in her ways, becoming an ideal model for the AEU. Next Chapter (Click to View)
As Vladimir and Elise take off for Europe, Victoria prepares for the journey towards the Dixie South. However things never go according to their way as she faced a problem. But what could it be? Next on Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU-Ch 11-Recall! Though lost on the surface, it is merely sunken deep within the memory banks. |

Ch 12-Recall (Click to View)
09:53, 12 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone Bright morning was upon New York and as the new day began, Victoria was quick to get her plan set to the next level. Inside the meeting room, all were present, other than Vladimir and Elise. “Alright, Vladimir’s away on his private matters and I got my sister to tag along with him,” said Victoria, “and now, on with our meeting. Is anyone here clear with our objective in this continent?” Suddenly, the whole room was completely silent with her question. “Ok, guess I have to choose someone…” Victoria noted, “So Ali, do you know?” “That we are here to investigate the claim of the Confederation of the Dixie,” said Ali. “Precisely! But now, our major problem is getting there,” said Victoria as she pressed a handheld device and a map appeared on the round table they were centered around. “That’s…America…” muttered Rahoul. “Its Northern half, Anglo-Franco America,” said Victoria, “now as we can all so plainly seefrom the map below, the Dixie-American Occidental border nearest to our current position in New York is the Ohio-United Virginia border.” “Excuse me, but from what I heard, there are a number of secret paths built by Occidentals to allow lucky Dixies to leave,” said Rahoul. “Yes, and I believe that we can locate one such path in the southern parts of Ohio,” said Victoria, “Roger, I believe you are one of those who fled from Dixie. So, where did you escape to?” “Now, this question is…uh…let me see here…” answered Roger as he got stumped in silence, “…I just couldn’t remember back then…I was in this hospital in Ohio. The doctor said I might have suffered some head injuries back then.” 00000000000000000000
So the Plan was ready, but there seem to be a slight complication is all this drama. Roger, a Dixie who fled his homeland and only one easily available who knows of a passage to the isolated region, had seemingly lost track of his Great Escape. Now, Victoria seeks to find a way through this rather vexing complication. 00000000000000000000
10:04, 12 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone The meeting had long been dismissed in light of minimal data of the operation and was forced to be halted for now. Victoria was quite vexed with this and continued to consider her options on the matter, thus engaging in a call with her grandfather, Joseph Sutherland. “So you are going out to the Dixie, but your only source has amnesia on what happened,” Sutherland evaluated, “that should be all.” “And I want to know of an alternative to this,” said Victoria, “folks in the Great Plains and New England are very quiet about this issue here.” “Since it is a memory loss, it can be regained,” Sutherland claimed, “you ever heard of Eisenstein’s Duel Theory of Relativity?” “You mean the physics theories done up by the late Dr. Eisenstein regarding the uses of Duel Energy,” said Victoria, “and one of those theoretical uses are memory regaining!” “Indeed, but best if you let an expert in the field work with you on this,” said Sutherland, “and don’t you worry, I will get only the best here.” “And by best, you mean Dr. Siegfried,” said Victoria. “Too bad that I couldn’t get him on the line since 3 years ago,” Sutherland lamented, “but I will get an equally qualified Duel Physicist for the job. But where’s Elise? I wish to speak with her.” “Sorry, but she’s away on another task,” said Victoria. 21:21, 11 May 2092 St. John Medi-Camp Providence, Siberian Plains This was only one out of the multiple medical camps based in the desolated northern frontiers of Siberia. Funded by St John Brigade and the AEU Ministry of Welfare, these helped against any emergencies going on in those parts. A native Siberian man in his eighties and covered with a low-quality tattered fur coat was resting near an empty spot of the Camp, fast asleep in his serene state. However, he heard a sudden noise unlike any other and fled inwards the camp in his cowardice. That so-called noise actually came from the Brunnhilde as the small aircraft proceeded with landing upon the grounds of the medical camp, frightening away more of the refugees there. A small company of AEU soldiers marched out to greet the landing craft as its occupants walked out. “May we know your purpose here?” a soldier inquired, while holding his rifle. “Sergeant Major Vladimir Bulowski of Eurasian Special Corps Division, I am here to see a patient here,” said Vladimir, “and I believe she’s a Baltic called Natasha Zabigov.” “You must be meaning the Warden Major admitted earlier today,” said the soldier as they all went on stand-by, “you can find her in Tent No. 543; it’ll be numbered.” “Thank you for your cooperation,” thanked Vladimir as they went off to Tent No. 543. Fortunately for them, the journey was rather short for a spacious area used for the campsite. When they reached inside the small tent, they realised that the various tents was quite small. Inside, there was only a simple bed with bed sheets. A table lamp was placed by the side of the bed and so was a chair. While they were there, Chiming was already seated there, beside the sleeping form of Natasha. “Chiming, how’s Natasha?” Vladimir exclaimed. “Shush, she needs her rest still,” said Chiming, “let her rest…she needs it after working so hard for all these years.” 16:28, 12 May 2092 University of Einstein, Ulm, Federal Republic of Germany, AEU The University of Einstein was situated in the German city of Ulm, the famed birthplace of the Great Physicist Albert Einstein. That University had awakened many talents from Germany who continued to support the state and the Eurasian Union itself. Amongst those high achievers, there was Dr. Gertrud Eisenstein. She alone held the entire estate and fortune of the Eisenstein Family as its main heiress due to a direct family line with the late Dr. Eisenstein’s brother. Similar to the famed Duel Physicist, she too was a powerful proponent of physics and duelling. She worked under multiple contracts, one of them involving nuclear systems all over continental Europe. Likewise, she also does the role of a university lecturer in her own University of Einstein. She was finishing up on her lesson at that point. “Do note that your assignments will be due next week and professional scientists will be inspecting them, so do your best in all your projects,” Gertrud reminded, “class dismissed!” With that, her class all left the study room. After the tiring session with the lectures, Gertrud took a lean back on her chair and gasped for breath. Suddenly, her holo-phone rang and Joseph Sutherland appeared. “Mr. Sutherland! Is this about the Yggdrasil Nuclear Plant?” Gertrud asked. “Ha, Ms Eisenstein, Yggdrasil is going just fine and all thanks to your fine tuning that we could avoid a nuclear disaster,” said Sutherland, “but I have a favour to ask of you, an expert of Eisenstein’s Duel Theory of Relativity.” “You need Grand-uncle’s formulas…but what for?” wondered Gertrud, “perhaps I can do with a trip.” “Glad to hear, I have already sent a ride for you; it will take you to New England,” said Sutherland. 11:17, 12 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone Outside the Revolution, there was a wide space made for flight capable machines for sortie. Due to this feature, it could be seen as a flight carrier bearing Odin’s Cross Flag. Right now, Victoria was waiting out there for some important guest that her grandfather was acquainted with and somehow persuaded her to come forth. “Wonder who this friend of Grandfather is at all?” wondered Victoria. Suddenly, the winds around her swept around violently. A mini jet with the Flag of Scandinavia began the careful descent on the platform. After landing, the door opened and Gertrud left the aircraft with a suitcase. “Trudie, nice to see you again after so long,” Victoria said. “Vicky, you’re the one Mr. Sutherland wanted me to help!” Gertrud exclaimed, “what a pleasant surprise.” Meanwhile, Roger and Rahoul were lounging in the control brig while Ali was adjusting the engines and Taici was resting on the floor. “Say, you claimed you couldn’t remember just now…” said Rahoul, but his voice became softer after which, “…so did you say that only to weasel your way out?” “Hey I’m so shocked that you would think that I’m some sort of slacker here!” Roger exclaimed. “Behold the power of Eurasian propaganda,” Ali spoke then, “Volgograd, Berlin and Versailles do have the best universities on political sciences after all.” “Anyways, I’m starving and I think we should have some good old New York food,” Roger suggested. “Not just yet,” Victoria’s voice rang in the room, “paging for Roger to come to the starboard as soon as possible…and please bring your Duel Disk along.” “Hey, what gives?” Roger cried. Soon after, Roger along with the others all walked out into the open starboard and they noticed an unfamiliar craft with Odin’s Cross settled there. Roger’s Liberty Wings was one of a Hybrid Type and his regular Duel Disk was merely a single long blade as card zones. Also, they found Victoria and Gertrude talking together. “Victoria, what gives?” Roger demanded, “I need my lunch!” “Of course you need, but I am pushing forward my plans and you are wanted,” said Victoria, “and she would be the one to help us with that.” “Hey, now I thought I saw you somewhere before…” Ali realised, “you must be Gertrud Eisenstein, one of the most esteemed physicists in the current world.” “I couldn’t just take all that credit, many geniuses did lived before me and did much more,” Gertrud humbly brushed off the comment. “But what does this gotta do with me?” Roger cried. “You are going to duel her and put your memory on the treadmill,” said Victoria, “Trudie, if you may.” Gertrud opened her suitcase and took out a Duel Disk similar to the outdated Battle City I Duel Disks used many years ago. “So you’re also some kind of antique collector or something?” asked Roger with an insulting tone. “Very funny,” said Gertrud, “this Duel Disk is modified from the outdated Disks to suit the needs for this duel. So let’s go!” Her blades of her Disk automatically moved in to form the platform for the cards. After that, she stretched out her left arm and four probes ejected off to the 4 corners of the area around them. Roger also activated his own Duel Disk too. “Let’s go!” both of them declared. Gertrud (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 4000) “Draw,” said Roger as he drew, “I Summon the Flag Fighter – Sky Bastion in Defence Mode.” (200/2000) As he placed the card, a large bulky fighter appeared. It was apparently designed more for defence and steadiness than actual flight itself. However, something also appeared on Gertrud’s side. It was a small cute ball of blackness with weeds sprouting from it. (1000/700) “But she has nothing, so how…” Taici exclaimed. “Now let me explain,” Gertrud verified, “this is my Naturia Cosmos Beet, a monster that I reacts of its Special Summon against your action of Normal Summon.” “The Naturia monsters…how lovely,” Victoria claimed. “Too bad I couldn’t attack yet…” said Roger. “Or your monster can’t,” noted Rahoul. “Anyways, I end my turn still,” Roger said, while gotten quite annoyed. “I draw,” said Gertrud, “and I begin with this card, the Naturia Antjaw!” (400/200) Suddenly, another tiny creature appeared. It was a small black ant with leaves for wings. It was holding a seed of some kind with all its might. “Is that deck of yours infested with a bunch of kawaii monsters?” Roger demanded. “That will be none of your business,” said Gertrud, “I Set 2 face-down cards and end my turn.” “I draw again,” Roger declared, “and I should turn this game to the offensive end. So I Summon the Flag Fighter – Drafter!” (1600/1200) Suddenly, another fighter jet appeared. Compared to Sky Bastion, it was far sleeker and built more for the sake of mobility. “Drafter shall attack your Naturia Antjaw now!” Roger declared. “Not quite as you planned, I activate the Trap Card, Widespread Ruin,” Gertrud declared. “It can only be played when the opponent attacks,” Rahoul recalled, “destroys the opponent’s monster with the highest Attack…Drafter in this case.” Drafter sped towards Antjaw for its attack, but it suddenly imploded in midair. With his monster’s destruction, he suddenly felt something in him. Roger was riding a D-Wheel along a cavern-like tunnel. It was not the current Liberty Wings, but instead the Lee High Mobility-Type, named after Robert E. Lee. He was being pursued by a Confederate Guard on his D-Wheel, Lee Hunter-Type. Suddenly, Speed World appeared on his dashboard… “And when my Drafter’s scraped metal, its effect activates!” Roger proclaimed, “Now I can Special Summon a Level 4 or below Flag Fighter with less 1500 Attack to the field from my Deck, like my Flag Fighter – Photon Blaster.” Suddenly, another jet appeared from the burning remains of Drafter. It was similar to Drafter in terms of size and had a laser weapon attached to the unit. (1300/800) “And I will now attack your…” Roger said, but was interrupted. “Wait just a second, when you act with a Special Summon, I can react to it,” said Gertrud, “first one is my Naturia Antjaw. Against your action of Special Summon, it reacts with my own Special Summon, a Level 3 or below Naturia Monster from my Deck like my Naturia Rosewhip.” (400/1700) Suddenly, a growth sprouted from the soilless ground. It was more or less a simple rose flower with a cartoonish face on it. “And not just one, but two reactions await you,” said Gertrud, “I activate my other face-down card, Demise of the Land! This reacts to your Special Summon and allows me to play a Field Spell Card from my Deck itself. And so, I bring you to somewhere near my homeland’s famous Black Forest.” Suddenly, the seaside view was concealed by a forest around them. The urban jungle landscape of New York was quickly converted into that of an actual jungle. “The Deep Forest, what a card,” said Ali. “I don’t care what you throw at me; I’ll just crush you apart!” Roger barked, “Photon Blaster, snipe down her little Antjaw now!” Photon Blaster aimed carefully at the Antjaw and fired off its laser beam. However, the Antjaw quickly fled into the surrounding trees for cover and missed the attack. “The effect of my Deep Forest allows a Level 4 or below Beast, Insect, Plant or Beast Warrior Monster to evade an attack by ducking within nature for this turn,” Gertrud explained, “a perfectly natural reaction of gentle creatures towards violence.” “But since this is a Field Spell, Roger’s also entitled to using this effect himself,” Taici noted. “Too bad my Deck is a Machine one,” Roger claimed. “And since the attack was already declared, Photon Blaster’s effect is declared void,” Victoria noted, “Gertrud’s the Western European Duel Champion for nothing.” “I’m facing an actual champion!” Roger exclaimed, “I better pull out my best in this. I Set 2 face-down cards and that’s all for the turn.” With Roger finally ending his turn, the Naturia Antjaw finally returned out to the open field and made a noise of its triumph. “And my reaction is my draw,” Gertrud proclaimed, “Before I make any further actions, I must confess that my Cosmos Beet and Rosewhip are both Tuners.” “Two Tuners?! Don’t like where this is going off from here,” Ali gulped. “Let’s start with these 2 monsters,” said Gertrud, “I Tune my Level 2 Naturia Antjaw with my Level 3 Naturia Rosewhip.” Suddenly, Rosewhip broke up into 3 rings that cascaded the Antjaw. It then broke up into 2 stars and then, a beam of light shone across the alignment. The new creature was another Naturia Monster, though not following the cute theme of the regular monsters. It was a tiger with grass green fur and its legs were like tree bark. It landed on the ground and growled fiercely at Roger. (2200/1700) "Synchro Summon, my Naturia Beast!” Gertrud proclaimed, “But there’s more to come. I Summon the Naturia Cliff in Attack Mode.” (1500/1000) Suddenly, a new monster appeared. It kept in line of a cute face, but the overall appearance was that of a stone slab. There were several fungi grown over its top and 2 cute eyes glared intensely at Roger. “And I also Tune the Level 4 Naturia Cliff with my Level 2 Naturia Cosmos Beet,” Gertrud announced. Cosmos Beet crumbled into dust and 2 rings appeared from its remnants. They then flew towards Cliff and it became 4 stars. Suddenly, a vertical beam of light erupted upon the field. The beast that was to appear from it was a serpentine dragon similar to the Oriental ones. It was as white as ivory, its hide was like tree bark and had 2 fore claws. (2500/1800) “Take a good look at my Naturia Balkion,” said Gertrud, “but I still got my Naturia Cliff to account for. When it is sent from the Field to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or below Naturia Monster and I Summon the Naturia Dragonfly in Attack Mode!” Suddenly, a red dragonfly appeared on the field. Suddenly, four globes of light flew out of Gertrud’s Graveyard slot and entered into the dragonfly. (2000/400) “Hey, what kind of Level 4 monster gets so much Attack power?” Roger complained. “It originally has only 1200 Attack Points, but gains 200 more for every Naturia Monster in the Graveyard and that’ll be four,” Gertrud explained, “Naturia Beast attack your Sky Bastion now!” Naturia Beast roared and pounced on Sky Bastion. Despite its fortified defences, it was easily crushed by Naturia Beast’s raw power. “Montage Dragon, attack him with Power Collage!” And then, the mosaic dragon fired a combined beam of light that completely destroyed Roger’s Sky Bastion. “And now, Naturia Dragonfly attacks Photon Blaster right now with Sonic Buzz!” Gertrud cried as the Dragonfly’s wings emitted a high-pitch buzzing sound. “Activate Trap Card, Martyr Impact!” Roger declared. His face-down card opened up, showing a Flag Fighter colliding with a Giant Bomber AIRRAID to cause an explosion. “By Releasing my Flag Fighter, I’m gonna destroy your monster and inflict Damage equal to its Attack,” said Roger, “so…I’m gonna destroy your Naturia Balkion and leave your Dragonfly to attack thin air.” Gertrud was snickering at his speech and merely removed the Widespread Ruin and Demise of the Land lying in her Graveyard. Suddenly, the Martyr Impact card shattered. “Now what’s the meaning of this?” Roger exclaimed. “Perhaps I should go through the effect of my Naturia Balkion with you,” said Gertrud, “by removing 2 cards in my Graveyard, I can negate any Trap Card in its entirety.” “That’s quite a lockdown effect, but the Graveyard must be loaded with enough cards,” Rahoul noted. “Moving on…Naturia Dragonfly’s attack is still underway,” said Gertrud. Photon Blaster was indeed struck by the sonic wave, but was protected by pieces of scrap metal that suddenly came out of nowhere. Gertrud (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 3300) “By removing my Sky Bastion from play, I can prevent a Flag Fighter from getting shot,” said Roger, “though I’m taking all the pain to come.” “Good for you, but I still have Naturia Balkion left and he’s all fired up,” said Gertrud, “Attack Photon Blaster with Leaf Storm Blast!” Suddenly, Naturia Balkion opened its mouth and a swirl of flying leaves flew out and struck Photon Blaster. Since he couldn’t be destroyed, the attack was instead deflected towards Roger and it hit him really hard. Gertrud (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 2100) “I activate Synchro Strike! Now Dark Strike Fighter, destroy his monsters!” Suddenly Dark Strike Fighter fired an endless barrage of missiles at Montage Dragon and destroyed it. Then, the Confederate Guard’s Lee halted and Roger continued onward… “She took no damage throughout the whole duel…and yet her strikes are deadly,” said Taici, “cute is obviously just a cover for her true colours.” “Bring it on, I still got tricks left up here,” Roger dared, “end your turn quick.” “Ok, don’t be so eager about it,” said Gertrud, “I just need to Set 2 cards face-down. And I shall warn you that my Naturia Beast’s effect allows me to negate your Spells by sending 2 cards from my Deck to Graveyard.” “Then…she can use the effects of both monsters indefinitely…or as long the deck is there,” Ali realised. “Draw,” said Roger, getting Flag Fighter – Grappler. He then looked at his other cards on hand, including Turbo Booster and Twister. “I Summon the Flag Fighter – Grappler in Attack Mode!” Roger declared as the pincer-equipped fighter appeared. (1000/1000) “And if I’m not wrong, that should be a Tuner,” Gertrud deduced, “you’re planning a Synchro Summon, aren’t you?” “And since I’ve just Normal Summoned this turn, I can Special Summon the Turbo Booster too!” Roger said as a small machine appeared too. (0/0) “So you can now Summon a Synchro Monster of Level 7,” said Gertrud, “then, bring it on.” “I will show you my Synchro shortly, just after I show you my Grappler’s effect,” said Roger as he discarded Full Salvo, “now I can commandeer one of your monsters and I choose your Naturia Balkion.” Suddenly, Grappler unleashed a chain of hooks that clung onto the wood dragon and dragged it over to Roger’s side of the field. “Since this monster is now mine, I can choose which Traps I want to shut down,” Roger realised. “But that means I couldn’t play my Level Retuner and lower my Beast’s Level if he were to attack it,” Gertrud realised, “he actually thought of what I have…my Naturia Monsters’ power is based on reacting with the opponent, but to think I’m up against my own play…” “And here comes the Tuning!” Roger declared as Grappler dissolved into 2 rings and flew into Turbo Booster and Photon Blaster. “He’s not using Photon Blaster’s effect, so his other cards must be of good use,” wondered Rahoul. “Stars & stripes strangled the darkest skies. Let us take infinite flight towards freedom,” Roger chanted as 5 stars aligned with 2 rings, “Synchro Summon! Roar, Dark Strike Fighter!” Suddenly, a crimson red and black warplane type robot appeared. (2600/1800) “Payback time is now, and Balkion will attack your Naturia Beast with Leaf Storm Blast!” Roger declared. Balkion unleashed a burst of leaves at Naturia Beast, falling to the attack almost immediately. Gertrud (LP: 3700) Roger (LP: 2100)
“But adding another Naturia Monster in my Graveyard, my Dragonfly grows stronger,” said Gertrud. (2200/400) “And without your Naturia Beast, I am free to play this card,” said Roger as another card showed up, “I play Twister and by paying 500 Life Points, I can destroy a Spell or Trap Card on the field.” Suddenly, a wild gust of wind stirred up and blew the Deep Forest away, sending them back into the seaside. Gertrud (LP: 3700) Roger (LP: 1600)
“Aw, I missed the Forest…it reminds me of the Temple,” Taici claimed. “Dark Strike Fight, attack her Naturia Dragonfly too!” Roger followed up. Dark Strike Fighter fried its barrage of missiles straight at the Dragonfly. The attack did hit, but it seemed that Dragonfly was still there. Gertrud (LP: 3300) Roger (LP: 1600) “I don’t get it! Without your Deep Forest, it should be blown sky-high by now!” Roger cried. “I must have forgotten to mention that my Naturia Dragonfly cannot be destroyed by monsters with over 2000 Attack Points,” Gertrud revealed. “No fair! That pest has over 2000 Attack Points to begin with!” Rahoul said. “Not really, I anticipated that move and Set that card last turn,” said Roger, pointing out to his face-down, “and I activate it. Synchro Halo! When my Synchro Monster fails to destroy an opposing monster, it can attack again and with double the attack too.” (5200/1800) “I won’t let you. I activate Battle by 2!” Gertrud called, “this card can only work in a battle where in my monster is against a creature with more than twice my monster’s Attack; elevating my monster to double its Attack.” (4400/400) Dark Strike Fighter glowed and fried another assault wave at the Dragonfly. Although they hit, it still remained the same overall. Roger was riding along the tunnel…but parts of it began to crumble away and a cave-in… Gertrud (LP: 2500) Roger (LP: 1600) “Then, I activate my Fighter’s effect,” Roger declared, “by Releasing another Monster, I can inflict damage equal to the Released monster’s Level x200.” Naturia Balkion roared as it grinded into dust, absorbed into Dark Strike Fighter. After which, it fired another missile barrage at Gertrud herself. Due to Naturia Balkion also sent to the Graveyard, Naturia Dragonfly gained more itself. (2400/400) Gertrud (LP: 1300) Roger (LP: 1600) “And I end my turn then,” said Roger as Dark Strike Fighter returned to its original stats. (2600/1800) “Draw,” said Gertrud, “I Summon Naturia Beetle in Attack Mode!” (400/1800) Suddenly, another cute beast of Nature appeared. It was merely a brown shelled Hercules Beetle with big buggy eyes and its horn was wooden. “And I equip my Dragonfly with Unstable Evolution,” said Gertrud, “and since I have lower Life Points, my Dragonfly’s original Attack becomes 2400…and adding all those boosts it got…” Suddenly, the Dragonfly’s eyes grew intense with all that power in it. (3600/400) “So what, even if you attacked my Dark Strike Fighter, I still have Life Points and your Beetle’s too weak to take me out,” said Roger. “I beg to differ on this, for whenever a Spell Card is activated, my Beetle undergoes a little change…a change too fatal for you,” said Gertrud. (1800/400) “Now he’s really doomed…and by bugs to boot,” Rahoul claimed. “Attack now,” said Gertrud. Naturia Dragonfly unleashed a buzz of its transparent wings and sent Dark Strike Fighter into self-destruction. With the path cleared, Naturia Beetle rammed into Roger with its horn. Dong…dong…dong Roger was lying on the entrance of the cavern…the other side of it…in Ohio…then a bell struck! Gertrud (LP: 1300) Roger (LP: 0) “That’s it. I’m going out for lunch now,” said Rahoul. “I must say, I haven’t felt this much energy since the finals of that Championship,” Gertrud admitted, “why not we go out to eat some of New York’s finest. It’s on my tab.” “And so Roger, anything rings bells to you?” asked Victoria. “Bells…church bells…it’s all coming back to me,” said Roger. “It will take some time for one to gather back all his memories, but chances say by tonight,” said Gertrud, “and until then, I’m on vacation here.” “Since we will be leaving the Revolution alone here, I would like it if you and Ali stayed behind to watch it and receive Elise and Vladimir when they returned,” asked Victoria. “What are old friends for? Of course I will,” said Gertrud. 01:07, 12 May 2092 Tent No. 534, St. John Medi-Camp Providence, Siberian Plains Back at Tent No. 534, it was late in the night and Elise was lying her head by the bed. Chiming was taking his nap on the floor with a blanket. However, Vladimir was still awake, unable to sleep just yet. Suddenly, Natasha stirred in her sleep and wakened up at last. The other sleeping occupants also followed suit with Vladimir’s cries. “Natasha, you ok?” Vladimir asked. “At least I’m still living, Vlad,” said Natasha, “what time is it now?” “1 a.m. of 12 May of this year, you Sleeping Beauty,” said Chiming, “good to have you back.” “And the girl’s?” asked Natasha. “My friend, Elise Sutherland,” answered Vladimir. “So you are related to Victoria,” said Natasha, “how horrible…that person whom I duelled. And especially that card he used, I saw nothing like it before.” “What do you mean?” asked Elise. “He called it a Dark Synchro…a Monster with a Negative Level,” Natasha said, shocking everyone. “Just like that time in Sinhala…could these 2 events be related?” wondered Elise. Now that Roger got a clue as to his journey, they now travel to Ohio’s southern parts to find the spot. However, that place was near a site that many locals would only be too dumb to tread upon. Next on Yu-Gi-oh NAPEU – CH 13 – Cursed! On hallowed grounds, she remained bound, seeking for justice as she passed without such. |

23:53, 5 May 2092 Crimson Cathedral of St. Benjamin, Benjaminshire, Ohio Province, New England Benjaminshire is a small town in Ohio near the region’s border with the Dixie United Virginia, so named after its founder, the Protestant Reverend St. Benjamin. That particular cathedral was built not merely for worship, but persecution of witches and hearsays. His cathedral was dubbed “The Crimson Cathedral”, due to the murders and tortures that took place within its walls. His tyrannic religious regime over the ignorant townspeople was a dark era to them. During the colonial era as the Thirteen Colonies, this town escaped detection by both sides…until the Americans won the revolution and began their expansion, ending the tyranny when the former federal government took charge and closed down the church. Normally, Benjaminshire was a sleepy town, let alone its night time. However, near the deathly abandoned church, some shadows were moving under the cover of darkness. They were a small group of 2 male teenagers, holding torchlight and shining them over the door of the old church. One of them was short and bespectacled, while the other was tall and punk-like, but they shared the same looks as twins. “Hey Zack,” said the bespectacled boy, “I don’t think it’s such a swell thing to do…I mean going in there and all…” “Cody! Don’t be such a scaredy cat!” scoffed Zack, “you and your cowardliness, we didn’t go all the way here just to turn tail! Go inside now.” “But you heard about the legends, didn’t you?” Cody claimed, “They say there’s a witch that still haunts within these very halls.” But it seems that his twin didn’t see eye to eye at all. Zack simply kicked opened the door apart. Inside, there was only a void of darkness left untouched by light or wind for centuries. The window glass was all broken; their shards spread all over the ground and the wooden furniture was rotting away in decay. “Your camera now?” Zack demanded, “Riches, fame, power and hot blondes and Asians await us once we bust the myths here.” With little choice, Cody took out his camera. It was a Canon Crystal 9000, the third-latest model of video cameras to hit American shores. He then shot it at Zack, who was tidying himself. “Hello people, my name is Zack Mosby and I dare you into a journey into the…Eclipse Zone!” he introduced with an overly dramatic pose. “The Eclipse Zone, talk about a Twilight Zone rip-off,” said Cody, “I bet you get sued before you got your cash and women.” “Just shut up and keep that thing at me! And you better edit that part out too,” said Zack, “now I am inside the Crimson Cathedral of St. Benjamin, where brutal persecutions occur and locals say that the spirits of the accused continue to haunt…” “Ding…dong…ding…dong…” And the church bells sounded, it broke the silence of the serene grounds and Cody suddenly felt frightened. “Ok, the bells shouldn’t be ringing! It’s after all abandoned!” Cody exclaimed. “You heard that; that was the sound of spirits’ rising over from beyond;” said Zack, “let us venture deeper into…” “Eh…Zack…” Cody stuttered, “…be…behind…yo…you…” “You really should grow some backbone and stop your childishness someday,” said Zack as he faced back, “and cut that part…” And then, he saw it – a female in her late 30s and in age-old clothes from the 1600s era was hovering in front of them. Her face was covered up by her hair; only her smile was seen and that cruel sadistic grin on it…

In case you are wondering, how does this link with our chapter here? If you would recall, Roger had just recalled the full extend of his journey to his freedom and the clue was church bells. Well, those church bells were really from the Crimson Cathedral of Benjaminshire and he escaped through a cavern pass there. Now NAPEU must return to that same passage and cross it… However, nothing is that simple and what was it that those 2 kids saw? Our opponent today…well, that would be a secret. But prepare for it, Turbo Duel Acceleration!!! 00000000000000000000
20:32, 12 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone Over the top ramp of the Revolution, the whole gang, save Ali, Elise and Vladimir, had gathered there in New York’s night. Due to night time, the ramp was lighted up. “Alright…if I’m not wrong…” Roger said as he looked over a map, “…it should be…here!” He pointed his finger at a small town at the edge of Ohio and near United Virginia. It was the town of Benjaminshire. “So there should be a church in its outskirts too,” Victoria deduced, “and here’s the plan now. Ali and Gertrud will stay with the Revolution here, while Roger, Rahoul, Taici and I myself will go to the Dixie. We will set out for Benjaminshire at 0700 hours the next day, and dismissed!” “I wonder where’s Ali now?” wondered Rahoul. With that, everyone left the ramp and retreated to the bottom levels. Gertrud, however, took a slight detour and made it to the hangar below the ramp. There, she saw Ali inside. He was in the process of welding a shape covered behind a sheet and lifted high by hydraulics device. “Hmm…what are you doing here?” asked Gertrud. “Oh, Ms Eisenstein,” Ali responded, “I was just putting the finishing touches to this bad baby here.” “This so-called bad baby, I can tell it’s something good in here,” said Gertrud, “can I see it? Just a peek will do.” “Ok, I can always do with some help,” Ali claimed, “You can hand me the wretch…and close the door. We don’t want people to disturb us…I made that mistake already.” 07:53, 12 May 2092 St. John Medi-Camp Providence, Siberian Plains While it was night fall in New York, it was bright early dawn in Siberia. A rooster belonging to the camp officials saw the rising sun and crowed loudly for all to hear. Inside Tent No. 543, the resident doctor was making her final inspection on Natasha Zabigov, who returned to her regular clothes. The doctor placed her stethoscope on her chest for a short moment and jotted down some notes. “Ok, you are fully healthy and may be discharged,” said the doctor, “as per AEU regulations, if a government worker were injured in line of duty, he or she is entitled to rest and you should.” With that, the doctor packed her equipment and walked out of the tent. Vladimir then carried her on her way out. “Vlad, I can walk by myself,” said Natasha, “you have a duty yourself and yet you came here and dragged your friend with you for me, how wasteful is that?” “C’mon, Baltland’s not that far,” said Vladimir, “I’ll just take you to the Brunnhilde right away and…” “Chiming, do something!” Natasha called. “Don’t put me into the equation like that; I’m just heading out to Corsica for details of a transfer I am due for,” Chiming claimed. Suddenly, Natasha struggled to let Vladimir go and stood up on her own. “Look here, since Chiming’s going to France and I will be off to Baltland, he can drop me off midway,” Natasha suggested, “and besides, if you bother detouring, you could fail your duties and that’ll be my fault.” “But…” Vladimir argued. “Do you even trust your friend-in-arms, Chiming de Baptiste?” Natasha said, “he’ll keep me safe, if that was what you were saying.” “Don’t worry, she will be on my watch,” Chiming reassured himself. “Then let us be on our way then…” said Natasha. “Uh…Natasha,” Elise said, “you mentioned the Dark Synchro…can you describe your situation…little more?” “”What else is there to say, that thing was so hideous and had one of the most gruesome Monster Effects known to Man,” said Natasha, “I can copy the effects of monsters in the Graveyard.” “And you saw who was using it?” asked Elise. “He was cloaked, so can’t say I did,” said Natasha, “wait…I think he calls himself Arep…or something…he claimed to be taking Alberto van Stenberg away.” “And based on my info, he is missing now and Europe is on high alert for him,” said Chiming. “So we now have a mad raving terrorist on the loose and a new potential enemy,” Elise thought. 07:00, 13 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone Up in the morning of New York Harbour, the entire NAPEU were all up, overlooking the city beyond them at the outer ramp. Victoria looked around for Ali, but he wasn’t there. In the end, she quickly took out an incom stick. “Where could that guy be?” she wondered, “don’t tell me he’s injured while working on it…” In the hangar below the platform, the sheeted machinery was uncovered, but still held up and both Ali and Gertrud were lying on the floor asleep with all manner of tools lying around them. A sudden beeping from Ali’s incom just happened to awaken them both and Ali received the message. “Ali, is it ready?” Victoria’s voice said. “Yah, just touching up on it,” Ali said, “will be prepared for operation very soon.” After those last words, he turned towards Gertrud, who was yawning about. “So now?” she asked. “It’s show time of course,” he replied as he pressed another button… Suddenly, part of the floor of the ramp slid open. It was a large bulky land vehicle with 2 large ports placed by its sides; the centre seemed to be its window shield. “What in God’s name is that?” Roger exclaimed. Suddenly, Ali’s face appeared in a holo-screen, along with Gertrud in the background. “A true masterpiece of my brilliance, I give you the Road-Kaiser,” Ali proclaimed, “it can hold a capacity of up to 6 passengers and 2 D-Wheels. Also, this machine also sports a unique Turbo Duel system based on early Bamides models.” “Bravo to your work indeed,” Gertrud said, “this must be some long hard work you spent on this.” “And both Liberty Wings Mk. VII and the Nagini are set into the Road-Kaiser for your convenience,” Ali added, “Gertrud and I will stay behind and wait for Elise and Vladimir to return.” “Alright then, everything’s set and everyone to your places and let’s go!” Victoria cried. 08:14, 13 May 2092 Benjaminshire, Ohio Province, New England Due to the speed of the Road-Kaiser, they managed to make it to border town in Ohio in quite a short time. Benjaminshire was unique for being in the urbanised Occidental Union, and yet it is considerably even more rural than the Amerindian Native States. It was filled with small roads with older car models driving around and its buildings were merely 3-4 storey buildings. All its occupants were out of the Road-Kaiser for a taste of fresh air. “Wow, this place is more rural than I expected,” Victoria said, “and the nearest major hospital from here is the same one you were admitted to. There’s no mistaking on it, we are here.” And then, a D-Wheel drove towards the front of them and pulled over. Its rider was a burly man with sideburns and brown hair. He donned a helmet with the words ‘Sheriff’ on it (also found on his ride) and a brown police suit with a star badge on it. “Greetings travellers, what may I do for you?” asked the sheriff. “And you are…?” Victoria pondered. “Sheriff Jeremy Mosby at your service,” said Jeremy, “and you can’t be tourists, are you?” “Well, we are actually…”Roger was trying to say, but was kicked in the shin by Victoria instead. “Why yes, have you heard of the Crimson Cathedral?” she asked. “That place…why of course, who in this town hasn’t?” Jeremy claimed, “St. Benjamin wasn’t even a real saint; that was merely a self-proclaimed title due to that so-called justice. He’s just a jerk who doesn’t know real justice even if it hit him on his backside! And what of that Cathedral you want to know of?” “Just out of our interest,” said Victoria, “you should know that we are interested foreigners.” “Well, you have looked for the best guy for the job, I also happen to be on a job related to the Cathedral myself,” Jeremy said, “my twin sons were the first to report of this, to say the truth. It was about a week ago, and a series of weird and undefined happenings going on at night.” “Couldn’t it be vandals doing all this?” Rahoul claimed. “That was my deputy’s theory, but we crossed that out when the local pastor was almost knocked down,” said Jeremy, “but maybe the Catholics? No, this is a full Protestant community here.” “That means a proper investigation should be put forward,” said Victoria. “Something that ye tourists need not to bother with, I will get things straight before the Ohio First Minister comes in for a state visit,” Jeremy reassured. “No need, I must admit to you the truth on us,” Victoria confessed, “we are the Non-Aggressive Peace Enforcement Unit, or NAPEU in short. It is a team under the Federation to secure peace without the use of mass destruction weaponry.” “Heavens bless me! After all these years surrounded by incompetence, I finally meet someone who could do things right,” Jeremy cried, “my sons had apparently recorded the whole thing on tape, but there’s some problems involved…” “Let’s look at that recording then,” Victoria said. 14:42, 13 May 2092 Town Jail, Benjaminshire, Ohio Province, New England The Headquarters of Benjaminshire’s sheriff was similar to the surroundings, as a simple 4 storey-high building with the star symbol of the Sheriff there. Like other sheriff HQ, they were commonly referred as a jailhouse since it also doubled as keeping prisoners until trial or transported to other prisons. Sheriff Jeremy was in a special meeting between him and NAPEU in the board room. The much younger Deputy Sheriff was attaching some wires into a laptop, and then a holographic image was seen on a screen before them. “So this is it,” said Victoria. Suddenly, the screen showed something strange – a nude woman in a beach. Fortunately, it was quickly cut out. “Wow…you never get this kind of stuff in Asia…” Taici said, but Rahoul acted quickly, “hey, my eyes! I can’t see!” “Sorry, but little kids shouldn’t see this kind of stuff,” Rahoul said, “but what’s the big idea?” “Sorry, but my sons like to shoot all types of things,” Jeremy claimed, “that should be from our vacation in Hellas last year; we went to a nude beach there.” “Go figure those Helenians, so free in their modesty,” Rahoul remarked. “My bad on that one, I was just curious about it,” the Deputy apologised, “but I think I got the right one this time.” The video clip showed the condemned remnants of the Crimson Cathedral and Zack was standing at the scene. “You heard that; that was the sound of spirits’ rising over from beyond;” said Zack, “let us venture deeper into…” “Eh…Zack…” Cody stuttered, “…be…behind…yo…you…” “You really should grow some backbone and stop your childishness someday,” said Zack as he faced back, “and cut that part…” And then, he saw it…and the screen went panned to see Zack being frightened by thin air. With that, the screen paused. “You see, I cannot get what this means at this part,” Jeremy said. “Clearly they saw something, but what?” Rahoul wondered. “Maybe your kids have officially lost it,” the Deputy suggested. “Zip it, Ron!” Jeremy barked, “Don’t you say that about my kids again!” “It is obvious they saw something, but maybe it was unseen by cameras,” said Victoria, “maybe we should go to the Cathedral tonight and see this for ourselves.” “And the scheduled time will be 2330 hours and it will be called Operation Eclipse Zone,” said Jeremy, “and Ron, stay in the station; you will be in charge of the station for now.” “Yes Chief,” Ron said. 15:32, 12 May 2092 Le Gallia, Western Russia Air Space Over the skies of the Russia-Finland border at over 10,000 kilometres above ground, the French Foreign Legion flagship, Le Gallia, was in due course to fly over the European Russia region and in due course to the Baltic region. To most people, it would unusual to see the Frenchmen interested in the northern reaches of Europe. However, it was a promise to a friend that Chiming de Baptiste made. Inside the Le Gallia, various members of the Legion were tolling around with their daily duties on hand. Chiming and Natasha were touring the place, under Chiming’s guidance and now, they were locked in an argument. “See here, I didn’t just arrange this meeting so that you two can take a glimpse at each other!” Chiming cried, “That thing was over so long ago, and yet you two are still grudging over it!” “Listen up here, I’m not grudging over it,” Natasha snapped, “Vlad never forgave himself for that thing and both our military careers crashed down the pipe. I really wanted him to get over this quick. In case you know, he’s the one afraid to strike down others now.” “Then by leaving him like that, what could that possibly achieve?” Chiming cried, “I may only know you two only after that Moscow Incident, but as your friend…” “I hope that he may forget me soon and just move on,” Natasha said, “and where are we now?” “We are currently flying over Saint Petersburg and the Russian-Finnish-Baltic border,” said a profound British voice. Suddenly, a new figure appeared. He wore the similar white clothes of the Legionnaires, but his was more elaborate and had flaps of clothing tucking out with medals on his chest. He also wore a red and black shako on his head, bearing the symbol for the Legion itself. Most of the surrounding Legionnaires quickly saw him and all stood at attention. “Good afternoon Lieutenant-Colonel Godwin!” the soldiers, Chiming included, called while in a salute. “Greetings, I am Margarf Godwin of the French 1st Foreigner Aerial Striker Legion,” he introduced, “I am a Lieutenant-Colonel in rank, and a Non-Commissioned Officer in practice. I believe that from my sources, you had come in contact with a unique type of Duel Monster.” “You mean the Dark Synchro Monsters?” Natasha claimed, “yeah, that did happen and that monster…it was like nothing seen on Earth.” “So it is true then,” Margarf said, “…well it was nice to meet you. I had heard of your early exploits in the military and pleased to have met you in person. We shall descend upon Tallinn Airport in about 20 minutes, and hope you enjoy the rest of your honoured flight with Le Gallia.” “Thanks for the info Lt. Colonel Godwin,” Natasha said. “The rest of you, we shall depart Baltland at 1620 hours and set course towards HQ in Corsica pronto! I believe that is understood to all!” Margarf hollered. “Crystal-clear, my Lt. Colonel!” the soldiers responded. “So the Lady-Priestess was not mistaken, the Dark Synchros are rising again…” thought Margarf. 20:23, 13 May 2092 Brunnhilde, New England Air Space Over the skies of New England’s New York-Pennsylvania border, the Brunnhilde was in due course of a flight. “Vladimir, you really are tensed up with Natasha here,” Elise remarked, “she’s quite nice, but she has to avoid you somehow.” “She probably still hasn’t forgiven me for ending her future like that,” Vladimir said, “I don’t deserve forgiveness from her; I will just bear this pain in mind.” “Maybe she is also thinking the same thing too, only that you should let go of the matter,” said Elise. “Before you butt into other’s business, you should think of your own first,” Vladimir replied, “I assume you running away from home as strange. You must have something against the Sutherlands, or your own grandfather…” “That’s my business here!” Elise cried. “My point exactly, we all have our own darkness and that’s what we prefer to keep in ourselves,” said Vladimir. Suddenly, the dark sky unleashed a blast of darkness at the Brunnhilde. Fortunately, it only struck the wing, but it still continued falling at a fast rate. At this moment, Elise’s eyes glowed and gazed out into the dark sky. There, she saw something, a black draconic monster with eyes all over its body. “One-Hundred Eye Dragon?” thought Elise, before she lost conscious… 23:30, 13 May 2092 Crimson Cathedral of St. Benjamin, Benjaminshire, Ohio Province, New England The Crimson Cathedral was placed over the borders of the town towards United Virginia by a simple road, but it was long sealed since the formation of the Dixies. Despite the almost zero-chance of ever crossing that path, there were only 2 vehicles along that deserted road; Sheriff Jeremy’s D-Wheel and the Road-Kaiser. They stopped just directly in front of the abandoned church and everyone got out. “Alright, Operation Eclipse Zone is go!” Jeremy cried, “Proceed with Procedure Enter and Plan A1.” Suddenly, Roger made a punch in the air and forced a pulse of vacuum to impact the door. After which, Rahoul and Jeremy tried to ram the door down with their arm strength, but to no avail. “Plans A1 to A2 have failed in Procedure Enter,” Jeremy relented. “Now for Plan A3,” said Taici. He drew out his staff and plunged it into the centre of the door and the other guys also grabbed the staff, ready to begin pulling too. “Grr…heave…ho…” they all grunted. However, the door suddenly opened up all by itself and pushed the guys out of the way. It was shown that Victoria was already inside in the first place. “How did you get in so fast?” Roger wondered. “While you boys are going crazy with your hyperbolism, I took the chance and opened the door myself,” she explained, “now c’mon! The day only ends in…less than half-hour from now.” As such, they quit the flashy acts and followed Victoria inside the Cathedral. The Cathedral was just as quiet and eerie as usual and described in the video clip. To see more inside, Jeremy flashed his torchlight into the Cathedral’s wall in front…and saw something over there. On hallowed grounds, they remained bound, seeking for justice as they passed without such. By the Grace of God, may they be forgiven of their sins and rage and may the Lord guide them to Paradise and away from the Devil’s claws. “Weird ominous writing,” Roger brushed off the words. “After the town was retaken by the Federal Government, this old church had a series of odd wild accidents that killed the pastor,” Jeremy said, “and so, this church was shut down ad the words were put there to prevent further incidents in the future.” Ding…dong…ding…dong… “Weird, church bells aren’t supposed to be ringing at this time,” said Rahoul. “Not to mention that this one is abandoned too,” Roger added. Suddenly, another eerie creaking sound at the wall and a wind blast erupted from it. Roger quickly fought off the blast with his vacuum wave, and managed to break off the wind. By then, a lady in ancient clothing was seen in front of them. “Hey, who are you?” Jeremy cried, “and you know Halloween’s over!” However, the lady made no response and vanished without a trace. A glowing ball of light was all remaining of her and the winds went up an uproar, expelling them from the Cathedral itself. “It’s…it’s…a ghost,” Rahoul realised, “I never thought that before.” “But why it’s so familiar?” wondered Victoria. “Arg…my back…” said Jeremy, “ok, you guys go now, I will stay behind to fend off the phantom. Quickly, there are others who need you more beyond that mountain pass.” “You mean you already knew what we came here for,” Roger said. “You were my first clue, I was the one who found you lying around this area back then,” said Jeremy, “and then, that lady here gave me her explanation…” “Did I just hear wrong!” Jeremy exclaimed. “Nope, we are really attempting to infiltrate the Dixie Confederation from the Ohio-United Virginia border,” said Victoria. “Well…there’s no law in New England…Ohio…or the Union itself regarding this…” Jeremy mentioned, “…I once saw a way through a mountain, the same one I believe your friend once took…and I will just pretend I know nothing of this.” “So go now! I’ve seen many who need your help there!” Jeremy cried, “Don’t deny them this last hope when the Union had forsaken it!” “Best of luck Sheriff,” said Roger as the rest got inside the Road-Kaiser, “…and thanks for the help back then.” “Just the duty of a Sheriff, there’s no need to thank me,” said Jeremy as he took out a pistol. The Road-Kaiser then took off towards the mountain pass nearby, while Jeremy braved the winds and held out his only weapon. “Come out, you phantom! I’ve seen far more frightening folks before!” Jeremy yelled. A flash of light suddenly flashed upon him; that coming from his own D-Wheel as wires flew out of it. “Damnit, not my Eastwood,” he said as he directed his fire at it, but it kept charging onward. 23:46, 13 May 2092 Mountain Pass Cavern, New England-Dixie Land Border Under the hills that formed the rough barriers between New England and the Dixies, there was a secret tunnel crafted by Nature linking the 2 countries. Although it was not commonly known, it was treaded by many who migrated from the Dixies to what they perceive as freedom. While most people would cross the hidden border to go to Ohio, the only current vehicle in motion was the Road-Kaiser. Since the passage was rather wide, the Road-Kaiser could at least fit in without crushing the cave itself. “Hope Sheriff Mosby can be safe through all this,” said Rahoul, who was steering the wheel. “Warning. Incoming high-mobility vehicle. Estimation…One Eastwood-Class Ohio Variant D-Wheel detected.” “The Eastwood D-Wheels are quite common for law peoples among Texas, California, the Great Plains and New England,” said Victoria, “we are being pursued yes, but by who is the question here? Get the monitor online.” With a press of a button, a monitor screen opened up from the top. It showed an Eastwood indeed, and Jeremy was riding on it. However, he was completely bounded by wires all over him and had a contorted look on his face. Suddenly, the screen fuzzed…and the image of the ghost lady appeared for a second before resuming to its original image. “Victoria, I’m going out and save that guy,” said Roger as he dashed out. “Hey, but a Turbo Duel could be forced out if you go…” Taici said. “No, leave him be,” said Victoria, “Rahoul, prepare to open Dock A for Liberty Wings Mk VII and launch out the catapult when all is readied.” Rahoul looked uncertain at first, but eventually pressed a button. With that, the back hatch on the left and marked ‘A’ opened up and Roger was all set in his D-Wheel. A holo-screen with a countdown appeared on it. “Ten, nine, eight…” “Alright there, Roger Archeson,” he cried, “off to save some hides!” “…Three, two, one…Take-off!” And then, the catapult fired off and propelled his D-Wheel out midair. Quickly, the wings of his unit extended out to gain some control over the speed and went towards the Eastwood. “Jeremy, this isn’t you! Snap out of it!” he cried. However, Jeremy said nothing to him and continued driving onwards. “Overriding Suspect D-Wheel…” “Oh crap, you can’t be serious…” Roger cursed. Suddenly, on the Liberty Wings’ dashboard, a similar virtual card appeared and the whole cavern was warped in a wave of energy. “As a D-Wheel variant used exclusively by security personnel, it’s not natural to expect this type of thing to happen,” said Victoria, “Rahoul, monitor the duel and continue driving along.” Suddenly, the screen changed to a simple outlook of their duel, showing Life Points, Speed Counters and whatever there would be on the field. “Jeremy” (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 4000)
“If it’s a fight you want, then it’s one you get,” said Roger as he drew, “I Summon the Flag Fighter – Sky Bomber in Attack Mode!” (1400/800) A portal appeared in front of the Liberty Wings & a sleek-looking blue fighter jet appeared. It had 4 jet propellers on its wings & the red shades served as its eyes. “And I throw in 2 face-downs and you may go now,” he said. After that, the possessed Jeremy quickly drew his card and looked at it. (1-1) “I Summon Twin Gun Fighter in Attack Mode!” a female voice howled, from seemingly nowhere. And similarly, the said monster also popped out of nowhere too. It was indeed a Warrior, and one that fits in all the common stereotyping of a cowboy. He had long flowing red hair and a cowboy hat to boot. The Warrior silently gazed at his opponent as his hands were around his waist. (1600/1000) “Attack now!” the voice cried. Upon that command, Twin Gun Fighter took immediate action and drew out his two guns, as his name would have suggested. He fired a shot from one of them, and it pierced through the hull of Sky Bomber, thus destroying in one big explosion. “Jeremy” (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 3800)
“Now is that all you got?” Roger taunted. “No…I got some more where that came from,” the voice claimed, “Effect of Twin Gun Fighter activates; it can inflict Damage equal to its Attack if it destroyed a Monster just now. Fire away!” Twin Gun Fighter then raised his other gun and fired his second shot at the wing of the Liberty Wings directly, thus driving it towards the wall of the cave. “Jeremy” (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 2200)
“Damn, just his first turn and almost half of Roger’s Life Points are gone!” exclaimed Taici. “But for some reason, I couldn’t help wonder…that ghost…did I saw it before…” Victoria thought. “Grrr…it takes more than mere guns to shoot this man’s hope down,” Roger claimed, “Don’t worry Sheriff, you helped me once and I’ll help you…back!” Suddenly, he pressed a button and a grappling hook came out to hold onto a nearby stalagmite. With a forceful vacuum push, he managed to get his D-Wheel back on course, albeit grounded and unable to fly. Previously on Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU, “Warning. Incoming high-mobility vehicle. 00000000000000000000
From where we last left off, a fierce duel was at its beginning stages. Roger Archeson was head-to-head with a possibly malicious entity. Whatever it could be is unknown, but we may find that out soon. Without further angering you with stalling the plot, let us move on…to midnight… 00000000000000000000
23:50, 13 May 2092 Mountain Pass Cavern, New England-Dixie Land Border The duel between NAPEU Meister Roger and the unknown force possessing Sheriff Jeremy raged on as they travelled deeper into the tunnel. Twin Gun Fighter had just attacked and dealt heavy damage via his effect. “Jeremy” (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 2200)
“I won’t be beaten that easily,” said Roger, “I activate the Trap Card, Revival Ticket. Since my monster was destroyed this turn, I can revive it by destroying another one of my cards…like that face-down card I placed.” Suddenly, the face-down card appeared for a small moment and bursted into shards of light, and a portal appeared. From it, the Sky Bomber returned to flight with its owner. (1400/800) “And to make things better…for me, I can gain back the Life Points I’ve lost from that battle,” Roger continued. “Jeremy” (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 2400) “But it is little…but Twin Gun Fighter can wipe that Fighter out next turn,” said Taici. “Got any more tricks left, because I’m gonna draw now,” said Roger. “Set 2 Cards…end turn!” the voice cried. “And I draw,” said Roger, (2-2) “Alright, I discard a card and destroy your Twin Gun Fighter and exhaust you of 500 Life Points meanwhile.” He then discarded a Level 5 Monster Card and Sky Bomber launched a barrage of missiles to destroy the cowboy monster. “Activate Trap Card, Interdimensional Matter Transport!” the voice declared, “Twin Gun Fighter will be removed from play for the rest of the turn.” Suddenly, a weird portal of null blank darkness with an array of colourful rainbow lights opened up behind the Twin Gun Fighter. Taking this chance, he ducked inside it and narrowly avoided the missile attack. “I Summon the Flag Fighter - Drafter while I’m at it,” said Roger. With another portal, another flying machine took its flight; it was designed as a high-mobility type jet. (1600/1200) “And you should be careful too before making reckless moves,” said the voice as another face-down card opened and Jeremy discarded a card. (Torapart) “Hallowed Life Barrier, so now all damage to the…thing for this turn is negated,” said Rahoul, “a clever plan seeing as how there is no monster left to protect it.” “This sucks, the thing about attacking and no damage,” said Roger, “guess I can only Set this here card and end my turn from here.” As the turn had already ended, Twin Gun Fighter returned to the field in all its glory. (1600/1000) Jeremy then drew his card, and increasing their Speed Counters again. (3-3) “I Summon the Grenader in Attack Mode!” the voice said. In a flash of fire, a new monster appeared. It was a man in old-fashioned black Confederate Army clothing with a top hat included, armed with a similarly old-fashioned hand mortar. (1500/1100) “I don’t like the looks of those 2 monsters there,” Roger said. “And you should be wary of them! They have powerful effects, for your information!” the voice said, “Grenader attacks Sky Bomber with Grenade Boom.” “Huh?” everyone exclaimed. Grenader laughed like a maniac while he operated his hand mortar and fired off a grenade towards Sky Bomber. The very second the attack hit, it exploded in a huge inferno. “Jeremy” (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 2300) “But if you attacked with Twin Gun Fighter, then you inflict more damage,” Roger realised. “Effect of Grenader; after his attack, it can lower Attack of Opponent’s Monsters by 500,” the voice explained. True to her words, the Grenader fired another blast from his hand mortar upon Drafter. It survived the attack as it was not even a real attack, but fulfilled the purpose of weakening it. (1100/1200) “Twin Gun Fighter attacks Drafter with Double Revolver!” the voice boomed. As such, Twin Gun Fighter raised his Colt and shot through the metal hull of the Mechanicalchaser, causing it into its explosion. “Arg…that pain…it hurts!” he cried in pain. “Jeremy” (LP: 4000) Roger (LP: 1800)
“Roger, what’s going on?” Victoria’s voice rang through his incom. “That blast…it really hurts…that attack…” he replied. “A real-life hit…this is no normal duel…” thought Victoria, “Psychic…that’s it!” She then took out her incom stick and went to Google webpage, typing something out… “Effect of Twin Gun Fighter activates,” the voice hollered again. Upon that cry, Twin Gun Fighter was ready to pull the trigger for his second strike and the bullet flew across the air. “That’s what I’m waiting for! Activate Trap Card, Bomb Trap,” Roger declared. A small group of bombs appeared around Roger’s Liberty Wings and some of them flew towards the gun bullet, exploding it. Meanwhile another lot flew straight towards Twin Gun Fighter and clung onto him. Suddenly, all those bombs exploded at once and took the gunner monster with them. “Jeremy” (LP: 2400) Roger (LP: 1800)
“Got surprised by that move,” said Roger, “my Bomb Trap activates when I am under a damaging effect from a Monster. As you could see earlier, the damage would be negated and that monster who tried inflicting the damage will be destroyed and his Attack will be taken from your score.” “Set 1 Card…end turn,” the voice declared. “I draw!!!” he cried, (4-4) “I begin with this card from my Grave, the Flag Fighter – Blitz Strike.” A portal appeared and a new monster appeared. It was another fighter jet, but this one was mounted with much more turret cannons and looked very offensive-intended. (2100/1300) “But that wasn’t sent to the Graveyard,” said Taici. “And for the benefit of noobs who don’t read rule books, Blitz Strike can be Special Summoned from my Graveyard during my Standby Phase if I have no monster while you have two at least,” Roger explained, “and I did send him…when I used Sky Bomber’s effect.” He then discarded a Level 5 Monster Card and Sky Bomber launched a barrage of missiles… “Oh yeah, I thought it was a desperate discard at first,” said Taici, “Maybe you’re smarter than we had first expected.” “And I’m far from over yet. I Summon the Flag Fighter – Interceptor,” Roger said. Suddenly, a portal opened up and a new aircraft-type machine appeared. It was a sleek model with laser turrets by its wings. (1800/1400) “Interceptor, attack Grenader now!” Roger declared, “And I should say that when it attacks a monster, it gains some head wind.” As the Interceptor closed in onto the Grenader, the wind around it allowed it to gain more speed. (2200/1400) Within seconds, it was destroyed from turret gunfire from it. After that attack, it returned to its original stats. (1800/1400) “Jeremy” (LP: 1700) Roger (LP: 1800) “And the fate of this match is all but sealed from here,” Roger said, “Blitz Strike, attack him directly!” All the gun turrets of Blitz Strike were aimed at the moving Eastwood and they were fired all at once. “Activate Trap Card, Spirit Force,” the voice bellowed, “Negates Battle Damage dealt in this Attack and Allows Warrior-Type Tuner Monster with less than 1500 Defence to be returned to Hand.” A card slid out of Jeremy’s Graveyard and he grabbed rather immediately. The gunfire was completely blocked out by a barrier. “But I put none of them in the Graveyard so far,” Roger cried, “in fact, I saw no Tuner of any type in you here!” “I beg to differ, it did send a Tuner…when it used Hallowed Life Barrier a round ago,” Rahoul said via the incom, “it is called Torapart and yes, it is a Warrior-Type. And again yes, it does have 600 Defence, and that’s less than 1500 in my book.” “You fool, the damage taken in this entire duel is real damage to your body,” the voice revealed, “as I have none and this fool serves as my hand and tool, I have the upper hand. If you win, he shall perish! Are you able to live with that…especially to your benefactor?” “Talk about unfair!” Taici exclaimed. “Well, I may not know…” Roger admitted, “but as a free lawman, I can be certain he would die a free man than live as a slave to another!” Those last words struck something within Jeremy, a past memory of sorts… Jeremy was riding his Eastwood along the road near Crimson Cathedral in the middle of the night, along with his Deputy Ron in a Bush ILIII. There, he saw smoke rising from an area and went over on foot. They saw the unconscious form of Roger and a broken Lee High-Mobility-Type near him; the site was not far from the mountain pass across the 2 nations. “Check out that Lee, this fella should be an illegal immigrant from the Dixies,” Ron said, “let’s book him and have him deported.” “No need for that, there are no laws in our little town, Ohio, New England or the Union itself against this,” Jeremy justified, “but take a look at the poor man.” He bent down and unrolled Roger’s sleeves, revealing that his arm was bleeding. “We should be sending him to a hospital right away,” he said as he carried Roger in his arms. “Yes, I can’t let this…go on!” Jeremy cried as he tried to pull off the wires binding him, but got an electrical shock instead. “You shall do as I command and do them like it or not!” the voice cried. “Eureka, I got it!” Victoria exclaimed. “You got what?” Taici wondered. “The identity of our phenomenal creature,” she said, “it is you, Lady Sabrina, half-sister of the High Knight, Sir Hector.” Upon her words, the screen in the Road-Kaiser fuzzed out again and showed the ghost’s face again. The same thing was done on the dashboards of both Roger’s and Jeremy’s D-Wheels. “How do you know?” she asked. “I was researching up on that during your duel,” said Victoria, “we are all of the same kind. You were around during the regime of the 574th Great Overmind Salemus.” “Yes, at that time, we moved the Headquarters to Plymouth, New World,” she admitted. “But the witch-hunts in America were frequent in some parts, such as Benjaminshire,” Victoria said, “and the records say that you were arrested by the Inquisition here while on a diplomacy to the Amerindians.” “And declared me a heretic and burnt me and many others alive,” Sabrina said, “and I must say that I was the only real Psychic amongst them; the rest were merely non-Protestants who were prosecuted merely of believing differently. I grew disgusted at this, eventually became blind to the Reaper when She came as I cannot let go.” “And you remained bound here till this day,” said Victoria, “but what set you freed?” “…was it…my sons…they freed you…” Jeremy struggled to ask. “After my passing, they sealed this church and even got the Archbishop of Canterbury to impose a holy seal upon it,” Sabrina said, “the spirits inside were immobilised altogether; all we could do was sound the church bells as a cry for help. However, it was a cloaked man who came the hour before. He unsealed us and we went wild.” “A cloaked man, now that’s strange,” Victoria said, “there is not many nowadays who are able to lift an enchantment like that.” “I should warn you…” Sabrina said, “You must unbind me from this man by midnight…or I could permanently possess this man.” “What?! Then it seems I must…” Roger gritted. “And you should too, it’s only less than 3 minutes till midnight,” Victoria said as she checked her watch. “…yes…hurry…” Jeremy struggled to speak out. Sabrina (LP: 1700) Roger (LP: 1800)
“Okey-dokey, I end my turn with a face-down so that you can go,” Roger said and Jeremy made his draw for his spirit host. (5-5) Even though Jeremy was in no control over his own body, he was able to see his own cards on hand. He just drew out the Speed Spell – Summon Speeder, and he held on with his 2 other cards. They were Pierce Musketeer and the Torapart that he got last turn. “So she’s about to Summon it…isn’t she…” Jeremy thought. “Summon the Pierce Musketeer in Attack Position,” Sabrina’s voice declared. And in another flash of fire, another Warrior appeared. She was a lady dressed in Victorian-Era clothing, and it seemed that during those so-called “prosperous” times of the Empire, the women were armed with deadly rifles, as such in her case. (1700/1000) “Gun wielding gals are never my type,” Roger casually remarked. “At least they be independent,” the voice said, “and she will be leaving soon…but first, I activate a Speed Spell – Summon Speeder! This allows another Summon of a Level 4 or below Monster from my hand." The Spell Card appeared and then, a certainly strange creature appeared. Its exact form could be phrased as undefined, but it looked to be two scarecrow-like torsos conjoined together at the end of their “upper bodies”. (600/600) “The Torapart…a peculiar Tuner Monster that can only be Tuned to Summon Warrior-Type Synchros,” Victoria said, “and given who Roger’s duelling, it’s clear as to what we are dealing with at the point.” “I take it that’s the Torapart, it’s kinda creepy-looking to me,” Roger, “but you did say it was a Tuner?” “Indeed, and I conduct Tuning,” she proclaimed with a final holler that echoed throughout the cavern. Taking the cry as a cue of sorts, the two torsos of Torapart forced their way apart each other, splitting into 2 rings of light. They flew in contact with the Pierce Musketeer, that converted into 4 stars. And then, a light shone amidst the darkness of the cave. As the light dissipated away, a new humanoid form appeared. It was something similar to a kabuki actor with white makeup. He donned an elaborate red and black outfit with Japanese undertones, complete with a long lariat with a prong at its end. (2800/2000) “Behold, the Goyo Guardian!” she cried. “The Goyo Guardian, why I am not surprised at this monster here,” Taici said. “Maybe because nearly every Duel Chaser of almost every single nation uses him in their Pursuit Decks somehow,” Rahoul said, annoyed. “Goyo Guardian, attack the Flag Fighter – Interceptor now!” she declared, “Goyo Lariat!” “Oh no, I activate the Trap Card…,” Roger declared. With that, his Trap Card did open slightly at first. However, it suddenly spun back to face-down position and vanished from sight. Without any obstacles in the way, Goyo Guardian thrust away his lariat towards the unprotected Interceptor and pierced through it. (1400/1400)
Sabrina (LP: 1700) Roger (LP: 400)
As a consequence of all this, the damage was more than 1000. Thus, a Speed Counter was naturally taken off from Roger’s scoreboard. (5-4) “Eh…Roger…” Rahoul’s voice spoke, “hate to break this to you…but Torapart allows the Warrior-Type Synchro that it Summons to be immune to Traps during Goyo Guardian’s attacks.” “And there’s more to this monster than that abnormal strength of his,” Victoria said, “to make thing worse, his effect is much more potent.” “Activate Effect of Goyo Guardian; Special Summons the destroyed Interceptor in Defence Mode,” Sabrina said. Goyo Guardian spun his lariat again and it hit into Roger’s Graveyard slot. A shining light bursted from it and the Interceptor was pulled of it. However, it was completely entangled in the Guardian’s lariat and dragged off by his side. (1800/1400) “Big deal, I have my ways to get over your monsters,” said Roger, “just end the turn and I’ll show ya.” “Turn ended,” Sabrina said. “Finally,” Roger said as he drew, (6-5) “I start off with the Speed Spell – Angel Baton. This lets me draw 2 cards, in exchange for one.” He then drew out 2 cards to his hand, and quickly discarded Flag Fighter – Sky Bastion. “Next I shift my Blitz Strike to Defence Mode,” he continued, “and then further fortify my defences with a face-down and then, I end my turn.” Blitz Strike showed no obvious change in it, but it was clearly in Defence Mode by then. A face-down card appeared momentarily next to his Liberty Wings. After his turn, Jeremy made his next draw of a card. (7-6) It was a Trap Card, with the image of a Goyo Guardian with a captured Big Shield Gardna, and he was fending off an attack. “Attack Blitz Strike with Goyo Lariat!” Sabrina said. Then, Goyo Guardian freed Interceptor from his lariat and hurled it at the huge Blitz Strike. However, a metal piece deflected the attack off. “By removing this card from play, I can prevent my Flag Fighter from being destroyed in battle,” Roger said. “Yeah, that’s the way!”Taici rejoiced, “Goyo Guardian can’t drag Blitz Strike with him if it can’t be destroyed.” “Set 1 Card and End Turn,” she concluded as Jeremy Set the Trap Card. “Thus, I draw,” said Roger, (8-7) “I move my Blitz Strike to Attack Mode and play the Speed Spell – Speed Energy! This will give my monster here a little boost of 200 per Speed Counter.” Suddenly, his Liberty Wings zoomed faster upon the land and Blitz Strike soon followed his speed. (3500/1300) “Attack his Goyo Guardian now!" he commanded. “Activate Continuous Trap Card, Monster Shield Wall,” Sabrina declared as the face-down card opened, “this card can only be played if I have a Goyo Guardian on the Field and by Releasing a Monster in Defence Mode that I control, my Guardian is saved from destruction via battle.” Blitz Strike did fire the bullets away, but they hit onto the Interceptor instead. It then broke up into metal pieces that crashed onto the cave walls. “Countdown report, we are 1 minute before midnight and counting,” Rahoul reported, “hurry up with the duel.” “Ok! My turn’s ended!” he cried. Jeremy then drew his next card, Power Bind. (9- “You know, I can simply prolong this turn until midnight…I always wanted to get out more often,” Sabrina said, “therefore, I don’t attack you with Goyo Guardian.” “Countdown report, less than 30 seconds left on the dot!” Rahoul cried. “Sorry, but I have won…” Roger said, “…I activate my face-down card, Martyr Impact. By Releasing my Flag Fighter – Blitz Strike, I can destroy your Goyo Guardian and inflict Damage equal to his Attack. See, you should’ve attacked.” Blitz Strike suddenly charged towards Goyo Guardian and crashed into him in one big explosion, blowing it into particles. The final blow sent even more debris flying around. The wires tying Jeremy suddenly loosened up…and his right hand grabbed a section of wire binding his other arm. Sabrina (LP: 0) Roger (LP: 400)
“A wise man once said,” Victoria said, “The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Good job there, now return…” However, there was a sudden rumble in the earth itself. The whole cavern linking New England and the Dixies, it was collapsing altogether. “Damn, the duel must have taken a huge toll on the natural barriers!” Victoria cried, “Rahoul, maximum speed pronto! Roger, return also pronto too! We can’t afford to lose this chance!” The Road-Kaiser was tuned to its maximum speed and sped off, deeper into the cavern. However, the Liberty Wings was not so lucky at all, lagging behind amongst the debris due to the natural slowdown when D-Wheels entered Speed World. “Damn, can’t get this thing moving any faster,” he cursed. “Then I give you a hand!” Jeremy cried…and his Eastwood forcefully bumped into the Liberty Wings for a quick boost out of the debris. However, this cost the Eastwood its operation and it and Jeremy fell behind the falling rumble of the cavern. 00:12, 14 May 2092 Virginian Hilly Regions, State of United Virginia, Confederate States of Dixieland It was midnight in the northern hills of Virginia, a relatively peaceful region only with various small free villages, which were the only sanctuary received by non-Americans. Along the silent road track, the Road-Kaiser continued moving off until it stopped with a steer off-road. “So we had reached here, the Dixies,” Taici said, “seems relatively peaceful here.” “But it is only night, when we venture deeper into their society…” Victoria said, “That is when we judge them.” “Wonder how Jeremy’s doing on the other side,” Roger wondered as he gripped his bandaged right arm, “hope he’s safe there…” 00:12, 14 May 2092 Mountain Pass Cavern, New England-Dixie Land Border Meanwhile, on the other side of the cavern, the earthquake had stopped too. However, a huge pile of rubble laid the cavern and sealed it off. Fortunately, Jeremy was out of range and laid tiredly by the rubble. Using the last of his strength, he crawled up to his Eastwood and pressed a button. An antenna sprung up and it began beeping. With that, he finally fainted flat on the ground. Also, the broken remnants of a flying drone were found on the ground too. Somewhere near the Crimson Cathedral, Master Geis stood in the darkness with a holo-screen full of static in front of him. He was not alone; there was another cloaked man beside him. He was draped in cloak similar to Arep’s, only that his had a yellow accent to it. “Those damned ghosts failed us,” the partner claimed. “Patience is important; Ruin,” Geis said, “and I have a multitude of plans left. Arep had reported back that he has successfully subdued Elise and Vladimir over this area.” Suddenly, the holo-screen changed and showed a map of America. A section of it was circled out; the former western New York State or what was now the Iroquois Six Nations League. NAPEU Archive (Click to View)

So wait... The villain can awaken spirits? That doesn't bode well... AT ALL!
And despite the failure, whatever plan they are up to is still going well, with some captures... Anyway, neat chapter. |

Ch 15-Guidance (Click to View)
20:36, 13 May 2092 Brunnhilde Crash Site, Forest Regions, Seneca Nation, Iroquois Six Nations League Seneca Nation was only one of the Iroquois Six Nations League, or what the Amerindians referred as the League of Peace and Power. Iroquois was reinstated as a semi-sovereign nation after the formation of the Occidental Union as a Native State and given territory of Western New York. In the wild regions of Western Iroquois forests, the ruins of the Burnnhilde laid over the crash site. The smoke was still rising over its scorching remnants. Over the distance, the sound of engines roared through the serene forests. The bushes rustled as a D-Wheel bursted its way out and stopped by the crash site. The D-Wheel in question was brown and had antler-like protrusions placed in front of it, being the unique Prongs model, being able to use radar to scan its surroundings. Its rider was an Amerindian in a khaki police uniform. It was followed by a small contingent of the Adams, Jefferson and Hillary model D-Wheels, piloted by a mixed group of Caucasians, Negroes and fellow Amerindians in the same uniform. While seated to his Prongs, the Amerindian took off his helmet and pressed a button on his Prongs. “At our nine-o-clock, gentlemen,” he said, “my Prongs is telling us of 2 life forms.” The constable contingent left their D-Wheels, and discovered the crash site. Over the seats, Elise and Vladimir were there unconscious. A small beacon on the console was beeping to no end. A Caucasian officer approached the two bodies and held their hands for their pulses. “Inspector José, we have found two peoples and they are still alive,” the officer reported. “Take them back for custody,” Inspector José said.

And while in the Six Nations, Elise and Vladimir made an unexpected landing there. Fortunately, they were rescued by this unique faction, the Iroquois Rangers. However, they remained to be missing and only one man would get them back to New York…the mysterious Mr. Shikyo. Here, we perhaps could learn of his goals. 00000000000000000000
02:48, 14 May 2092 Sutherland Corporation HQ, Stockholm, Scandinavia While Elise and Vladimir were being carried off by those officers, the distress beacon was left to transmit a signal for help. However, the signal was not only directed towards the Revolution, but also to Scandinavia, where Sutherland Corp. is based. In the COE Office, Joseph Sutherland stood out into the rainy scenery of midnight Stockholm. As a Psychic, his powers were somewhat dependent on his current state of mind. His sadness was so intense that even a seasoned Psychic like him couldn’t control…and thus the rain. On his desk, there was a static holo-screen…where a message he did not favour too much came up… “Mr. Sutherland, we just received a distress signal from the Brunnhilde,” said Ali, “and Elise and Vladimir should be on board at that time too.” “What?!” he exclaimed. “Sorry, their last known location was the western forests of Iroquois League,” Ali said, “shall I go there and locate her?” “…No need to, I will find a way out,” he said. Suddenly, the holo-screen broke off its static state. A new face formed up on it; a man in black with a oni mask; Mr. Shikyo. Sutherland took quick notice of this, and turned back. “My Lordship,” Shikyo said. “Ah yes, I shall get to the point,” Sutherland spoke, “Elise…she’s missing. Last known location: Seneca Nation of Iroquois.” With that spoken, a lightning bolt struck from the heavens and all electronic devices were shut down, including the holo-screen. Fortunately, Shikyo got all needed information. His mind now beared a single thought. “Elizabeth, I will fulfil the duty of a servant…that I swear…” he thought. 01:24, 14 May 2092 Brunnhilde Crash Site, Forest Regions, Seneca Nation, Iroquois Six Nations League The midnight of the wild Seneca Nation was peaceful and calm in all of nature’s wonders. However, the roaring engines of D-Wheels once again disturbed the serenity of the wilderness. The bushes rustled as another D-Wheel rushed out at high-speed. It was completely yellow with a black line pattern around it, and it was based on a chopper-type design. Its rider was wearing a crimson oni helmet with horns curved backwards, but the two katana still strapped to his back proved him to be Mr. Shikyo. He stared into the crash site of the Brunnhilde and noticed something – a police line saying ‘Iroquois Rangers’. “So it seems that someone has beaten me to the punch,” Shikyo said as he pulled out his katana, “guess I will have to pave my way around this neck of the woods. Let’s go, my Aka-Oni!” His Aka-Oni drove off towards a group of trees and with a slash, those trees fell. Without obstacles in the way, his journey continued uninterrupted. However, he had been secretly observed by Arep on a rock structure above ground level. Next to him, there was a D-Wheel too. It was black with blue stripes that formed up an ancient pattern, and its design took roots from the famous German VW Panzer-Hummel, which is renowned for great defences. “Tsk, I still failed to get them, but only stalled for time,” Arep lamented, “but it appears that I may be in for a good show. Let’s ride, my Eros!” He tore off his cloak and revealed the face of a Dane, putting on a similarly coloured helmet in the design of the Eros. The engines of the custom Panzer-Hummel called Eros roared into life and rode Arep off towards the forest. 01:29, 14 May 2092 Iroquois Rangers HQ, Buffalo, Iroquois Six Nations League Down at the capital of Iroquois and the governmental district Unity, it is where the Six Nations Council convenes over meetings between the appointed First Minister, Attorney-Consultant with the six traditional Chiefs of the Six Nations. Also located there was the Cattaraugus Palace, the official residence of the Chief of Seneca Nation. Other than the government buildings there, one of the most prestigious civil defence organisations in the Occidental Union was centred in this region, the Iroquois Rangers. Formed along with Iroquois government itself, it gained strong prestige on the world stage, producing many great officers. Among them, it would be Sr. Inspector Josehawa or “José” (due to a slight Hispanic heritage) and he was overseeing a holo-screen displaying the natural background of the Seneca forests in a large room occupied by various monitors and cameras of the natural grounds of the Six Nations. “Wilson, so the destruction in the Outskirts Forest Regions, it has been going for how long again?” the Sr. Inspector asked, turning to a Negro operator seated beside him. “Inspector, it has been so for five minutes straight,” Wilson replied, “actually six minutes by now. Also, due to the rate of deforestation, I suspect the culprit to be on something like a D-Wheel.” “This matter is would be of serious concern once the Chieftains hear of this; the Nature is always the highest treasure granted to our peoples,” José proclaimed, “this threat needs to be investigated quickly.” “I bet it is the Industrial Movement trying to force the Iroquois government to give up its lands,” a Caucasian man opposite of Wilson suggested, “but I must point out that most of our officers are off-duty now.” “If so, then I shall personally investigate this now,” José said, “I’ll be in my Prongs. And before I go off, I wish to know of our guests’ status.” “I last checked on them a few minutes ago, and they are quite stable, but they still need rest,” the Caucasian replied. 01:32, 14 May 2092 Hangar Room, Iroquois Rangers HQ, Buffalo, Iroquois Six Nations League The Hangar Room was quite dark due to the scarcity of people there at midnight, but that didn’t stop Josehawa from going there to get his D-Wheel. He looked around for a certain pad, and saw his Prongs there, quickly settling himself down on it. “Alright, Senior Inspector Josehawa reporting,” he cried, “Prongs is ready to go!” Suddenly, the silence of the room was utterly broken with the roaring of engines. The hangar door slid upwards and the Prongs sped its way out into the streets. 01:42, 14 May 2092 Forest Regions, Seneca Nation, Iroquois Six Nations League With the forests of the Seneca Nation, Shikyo spent the time in Seneca forests finding his way around the unspoiled region by cutting his way around. Unknown to him, Arep had been following him around from above and that the Prongs was hot on their trails. José pressed a button on his dashboard and it turned on a radar screen. On it, it showed the Prongs itself as a source, along with 2 other unidentified sources. “Momentum, the power that empowers D-Wheels,” José said, “any appropriate radar system can exploit this to track down any D-Wheel in the area. And I see two of you here…on my left!” Suddenly, his Prongs turned to the left rather abruptly, but it soon regained its stability. A few miles away, Shikyo was busy chopping his way through the trees-filled forests. However, the Prongs had finally caught up with his Aka-Oni and went up beside it. “Who are you?” Shikyo demanded. “Sr. Inspector Josehawa of the Iroquois Rangers,” he replied, “and I must inform you that you are committing a serious offense of destroying natural area, which is considered as vandalism of state property.” “Sorry, I need to find somebody and I believe you Josehawa would know,” Shikyo said. “Now do you suspect me? I am the law in these parts and I ask the questions here,” José said, “and for the record, just call me José. I now activate the Speed World Field Spell Card.” “Overriding Suspect D-Wheel…” And then, the whole forest region west of Buffalo was absorbed into Speed World territory. Arep looked over to the upcoming duel with a wicked smile on his face. José (LP: 4000) Shikyo (LP: 4000)
“Get ready to duel now,” José said as he drew his full hand of six cards, “and I Set a monster face-down along with a face-down card for my turn alone.” Suddenly, a horizontal card appeared before it vanished. It was followed by another vertically set face-down card that also vanished along. “And I draw,” Shikyo declared as he got Speed Spell – Angel Baton, (1-1) “and I Summon the Oxhead Demon, Gozuki in Attack Mode!” Suddenly, a portal opened up and a monster appeared. True to its name, it did have the head of an ox and a humanoid body shape. The demonic creature was holding onto a wooden hammer. (1700/800) “Gozuki attacks your face-down monster with Underworld Hammer!” he declared his monster’s attack. Gozuki roared out loud as it raised its hammer to crush the opposing monster. Suddenly, it opened up to reveal to be a green-skinned giant similar to the Hulk. He wore only a simple loincloth and fur boots with his right side being made out of wood. (1000/2000) José (LP: 4000) Shikyo (LP: 3700)
“Looks like my Elemental Hero Woodsman’s hide prove too rough for your demon,” José said. “An Elemental Hero monster, they don’t really work so well in Turbo Duels,” Shikyo remarked. “I use Gozuki’s effect now, which allows me to send a Zombie-Type monster from Deck to the Graveyard,” Shikyo said as he slid a card (called the Crow Tengu) in, “and I end my turn.” “Draw,” José said, (2-2) “I Summon the Elemental Hero Knospe in Attack Mode.” (600/1000) Suddenly, a tiny shape formed up in the forests. It was vaguely a humanoid bud that had not yet bloomed. However, its face was one of burning determination. “When alone, Knospe’s pretty much harmless. But with a comrade Elemental Hero, it can attack you directly,” José said, “Take him down with Seed Bud Barrage!” Knospe leapt up and its two buddy hands opened. They fired off a series of seeds at the Aka-Oni, trailing it off track for a second. José (LP: 4000) Shikyo (LP: 3100)
“And your point for doing this is?” Shikyo questioned. “When Knospe inflicts you Battle Damage like just now, it gains 100 Attack Points in exchange for 100 Defence Points,” José said, (700/900) “and I must warn you that with Woodsman around, you can’t even hit my Knospe. I end my turn with 2 more face-downs.” “Let’s go then,” Shikyo cried as he drew, (3-3) “I activate my Gozuki’s effect again and send another Zombie Monster to the Grave…and in my benevolence, I show it to you.” A card slid out of his deck and Shikyo showed it out to his opponent. The card was an Effect Monster, that bode the image of a horsehead demon. Shikyo quickly slid it into his Graveyard slot. “This card is called the Mezuki, and by removing it from the Graveyard like so,” Shikyo said as he took the card out, “I can Special Summon a Zombie Monster in my Graveyard.” “But I sent no Zombies to your Graveyard!” José exclaimed, “…unless…that card Gozuki sent…” “Yup, I Special Summon the dreaded Crow Tengu from the Graveyard in Attack Mode!” he cried. The horsehead demon Mezuki appeared as a spirit form as it glowed brightly. The next thing that appeared was a strange Zombie. It was a large humanoid crow that flew by Shikyo’s side. (1400/1200) “And when Special Summoned from the Other Side, I can destroy one of your monsters,” Shikyo said, “and I choose your Elemental Hero Woodsman!” “Before that, I activate Trap Card Elemental Recharge,” José declared, “this card will increase my Life Points, 1000 for every Elemental Hero.” José was showered with a green glow from his monsters. Crow Tengu flapped its demonic crow wings to conjure up a great wind blast and blew Woodsman away. José (LP: 6000) Shikyo (LP: 3100)
“I’ll just smash my way through you,” Shikyo said, “I play Speed Spell – Angel Baton, so that I can draw 2 and ditch one.” He then drew 2 cards, and after some choosing, he discarded Skill Successor. “And I Summon the Wine-Devouring Demon, Shutendoji,” he continued. And as he placed the card down, another demon appeared. It was a ferocious red oni with a mane of golden hair, wearing a traditional Japanese clothing with knots all over. It was holding on to a large jug of wine. (1500/800) “Crow Tengu attacks his Knospe now!” Shikyo cried as the crow demon went in for a skydive at it. “Activate Trap Card, Soul Union!” José said, “Now I choose 2 Elemental Heroes, one on the field and the other in my Grave. Now, my Knospe gains Attack equal to that of Woodsman to defeat your Tengu.” The shadow of Woodsman appeared behind Knospe as it was absorbed into the tiny bud. (1700/900) “Then let me play a trick of my own, I remove a card in my Graveyard from play too,” Shikyo said, “it is Skill Successor and now, my Crow Tengu gains 800 Attack Points.” (2200/1200) With that, Crow Tengu impacted upon Knospe with its skydive attack and it was quickly destroyed easily. (1400/1200) José (LP: 5500) Shikyo (LP: 3100) “And I have 2 other monsters waiting for their turns, so go get him too!” Shikyo, “and Shutendoji takes the lead.” The drunken demon opened up his ancient jug and gulped down the wine. It turned to the Prongs and sprayed a blast of stinging-hot putrid wine at him, scalding him badly. José (LP: 4000) Shikyo (LP: 3100)
“Back at square one now,” Shikyo said, “and since you lost over 1000 Life Points at one go, you lose one Speed Counter.” “Activate Trap Card, Doom Acceleration,” José cried, “thanks to this card; I not only lose no Speed Counter from this battle, but gain one for every 500 points of Damage received.” With that, the Prongs’ Speed Counter quickly rose. (6-3) “Hey now, I still got my final monster here,” said Shikyo, “Attack him directly with Underworld Hammer.” Gozuki went on and hoisted its mighty hammer down at the ground, causing a minor shockwave that shook the Prongs. (5-3) José (LP: 2300) Shikyo (LP: 3100)
“And I Set 1 face-down card and end my turn,” he said. José made his next draw and their Speeds increased again. (6-4) He looked at the card he just drew, and then saw his 2 other cards on hand. “And I Summon the Elemental Hero Ocean in Attack Mode,” José said. A new hero monster appeared on the field. He was in a tight blue wetsuit with a distinctive shark fin sticking out of his headpiece. His only weapon was apparently a harpoon in his hands. (1500/1200) “Attack his Crow Tengu now!” he ordered. Ocean raised his harpoon staff and fired a blue laser beam at the crow-like demon, destroying it within an instance. José (LP: 2300) Shikyo (LP: 3000)
“And I Set just 1 face-down and end my turn,” José said as he Set his card. 01:45, 14 May 2092 Iroquois Rangers HQ, Buffalo, Iroquois Six Nations League In an emergency guest room of the Iroquois Rangers HQ, it was the place where in Elise and Vladimir rested since their discovery by the Rangers themselves. The Caucasian officer had come inside the room again for his rounds. This time, Elise was recently awakened. “Oh, where am I?” she asked, “but more importantly, who are you?” “I am Officer Cal of the Iroquois Rangers and we have found you some hours ago in the forests,” he said, “we found an aircraft in the crash site, so care to explain what happened?” “All I remembered was that we were flying and…and…” Elsie said, “…we crashed down somehow.” “When your friends wakes up and both of you gave oyur official statements, we then hopefully close this case here,” Cal said. “Doubt he’d believe of a monster dragon blasting us out of the sky…” Elise thought. 01:45, 14 May 2092 Forest Regions, Seneca Nation, Iroquois Six Nations League “I draw,” said Shikyo, (7-5) “Attack Ocean now, my Gozuki!” “Activate Trap Card, Hero’s Guard,” José declared, “this card will prevent my Hero monsters from getting destroyed for one, and by removing a Hero Monster from play, I can halve Battle Damage and draw a card.” As Gozuki tried to clobber the aquatic hero, Knospe suddenly appeared and blocked the attack. During all this, José took this chance to draw his card, the Speed Spell – Speed Fusion. José (LP: 2200) Shikyo (LP: 3000)
“Then I activate Fiend Cannon for backup,” Shikyo announced, “since your monster was still attacked by mine and not destroyed by it, you take 500 points worth damage.” Suddenly, a demonic dragon head appeared from the card and shot out a fireball at José, scorching him. José (LP: 1700) Shikyo (LP: 3000)
“Then, I end my turn,” said Shikyo. “Draw,” said José, (8-6) “and during my Standby Phase, my Ocean’s effect now activates. I can return a Hero Monster either on the field or in the graveyard back to its owner’s hand.” “And after removing Knospe from play…” Shikyo said, “It has to be Woodsman!” True enough, the Elemental Hero Woodsman card did went back to José’s hand. “And now, I play my own Speed Spell, the deadly Speed Fusion!” he declared, “Since I actually have double the requirement for it, I can use its power to Fusion Summon.” “The core of any Elemental Hero Deck indeed,” Shikyo said. “By fusing both Woodsman and Ocean, I Summon the living spirit of the Earth itself!” José said, “Show yourself now!” Woodsman appeared beside Ocean as both of them were trapped in a swirling vortex. Suddenly, a great light shone out. Another Warrior appeared onto the field; it was almost completely white with blue crystals on his shoulders and head. A single red crystal was affixed on his chest. (2500/2000) “No…the Legendary Planet Cards!” Shikyo exclaimed. “Behold, the Elemental Hero Terra Firma,” José said, “I Normal Summon Elemental Hero Flash in Attack Mode.” Suddenly, a new Warrior appeared. He wore a yellow lightning-themed suit with a cloth tied behind him. (1100/1600) “I activate my Terra Firma’s effect,” José said, “all I need to do now is to Release an Elemental Hero that I control and Terra Firma gains Attack equal to the Released monster.” Suddenly, the Flash vanished into light grains and entered into Terra Firma via his crystals. He then glowed with additional power. (3600/2000) “Also, when Flash is sent to the Graveyard, I can add 1 Spell or Trap card there back to my hand,” José said, getting back Hero’s Guard, “and now, he’ll attack your Gozuki now with Terra Firma Impact!” Suddenly, Terra Firma flew towards the oxhead demon and with a single punch, destroyed it. The impact was so strong that the ground around there shattered. (8-5) José (LP: 1700) Shikyo (LP: 1100)
“You could’ve attacked my Shutendoji instead, then I’ll lose 2 Speed Counters and more Life Points,” Shikyo said. “True, but it would seem that your monsters are benefitting from the Graveyard and I can’t allow you to simply overload your Graveyard like that,” José justified his action, “and your Gozuki only contributes to the effort of Deck thinning.” “Yah, my Youkai Monsters are creatures of Japanese myths of evil spirits and ghosts,” Shikyo explained, “these beings are quite restless, and their real powers work only when brought back from the Other Side. Thus, a duty of certain members of my people sought to resist these Youkai. But what’s with your Elemental Heroes? I’ve never seen anything like them.” “These guys, not much people have heard of them, most would be obsessed with the Urban Elemental Heroes,” said José, “these guys are the Nature Elemental Heroes, the mentors of the Urban Heroes. It was they who taught the original Elemental Heroes on using their powers and the morals behind it. These unique heroes don’t really appear on the scene that much, mostly by the sidelines and for Nature’s sake.” “That makes sense,” Shikyo said, “well, got any more moves to spare.” “Just two face-downs and I’m through,” José said, “and Terra Firma returns to his original Attack.” (2500/2000) 01:48, 14 May 2092 Iroquois Rangers HQ, Buffalo, Iroquois Six Nations League Meanwhile, Wilson, the monitor of the station was viewing the heated duel between Shikyo and their top officer in action. The door slid open as his Caucasian friend Cal returned from a check with the patients. “So how has it been so far?” asked Cal. “He just Summoned Terra Firma; once José Summons his Fusion Monsters, there’s rarely anything to stop him,” Wilson commented, “isn’t that right, Cal?” “Well I say that Shikyo have what it takes to beat our top inspector,” said the Caucasian partner Cal. “Now I get it,” said Wilson, “still sore about him beating that lame Toolbox Warrior Deck of yours?” Wilson suggested. Wilson was clearly not so pleased with his friend’s comment and took out something from his pockets. Then, he showed it to his friend to see. “Honest Abe says José wins,” said Wilson, “and you know he never lies.” “Oh, you wanna bet this through,” said Cal. “And what may this commotion be?” said a third voice. The 2 operators turned around and saw two high figures of the local hierarchy. One of them was an elderly Amerindian male donned in native robes with a headdress of multi-coloured feathers, while he was accompanied by a White man in a suit. “Attorney-Consultant Sir,” exclaimed Cal. “Grand Sachem of the Seneca Nation!” exclaimed Wilson, “what are you tow doing here?” “I was guided here by the spirits at first,” wondered the Grand Sachem, but he then saw the holo-screen projected, “but is that a duel with my nephew? Let’s us watch this to while away time.” 01:49, 14 May 2092 Forest Regions, Seneca Nation, Iroquois Six Nations League And then, Shikyo drew out his next card. (9-6) “What could he have there?” Shikyo thought, “Elemental Recharge? Doom Acceleration? Soul Union?” “With 6 Speed Counters, I activate the Speed Spell – Power Baton,” he said, “by sending a monster in my Deck to the Graveyard, I can allow my monster to gain that Monster’s Attack. Therefore, I sent the Pyre of Malice for Shutendoji to gain 2200 Points.” Shikyo quickly discarded the monster and Shutendoji growled loudly in gean. (3700/800) “Attack Terra Firma now!” he cried. “Activate Trap Card, Hero’s Guard!” José declared, “Terra Firma can’t be destroyed and I remove Ocean from play.” Shutendoji consumed his jug of wine and spat it at Terra Firma. However, he was guarded from the poisonous winery. Also, José drew a card as per his Trap Card, the Speed Spell – Shift Down. José (LP: 1100) Shikyo (LP: 1100)
“At least we are now evened,” Shikyo said, “I Set 3 face-downs and end my turn.” With Shikyo’s turn ending, his Shutendoji returned to its original stats. (1500/800) José began to draw his card as they veered rightwards from the trees. (10-7) He looked at his newly-drawn card, Elemental Hero Wildheart. “I could Release this monster for Terra Firma to crush him in one blow…but I must account that face-down too,” he thought. “Firstly, I Summon the Elemental Hero Wildheart in Attack Mode,” José said. In a burst of energy, a tanned figure appeared. His appearance was seemingly Native American or Aboriginal design, with a large sabre strapped to his back. (1500/1600) “This time…I choose not to use Terra Firma’s effect and go straight for the battle,” José said, “Attack the Shutendoji with Terra Firma Impact!” “Just what I’m waiting for,” Shikyo cried, “I activate Trap Card, Enemy Attack Alert – Yellow Alert. When you attack my monster, I can Special Summon another one from my hand that will take the attack…and I choose the Woollen Blanket Spirit, Ittan Momen.” Suddenly, Terra Firma’s attack was blocked off by a new monster. This one was like a piece of living cloth. (1200/1500) In place, it was destroyed instead and Wildheart was bound by the remnants of the youkai. (1000/1600) “And for your information, Ittan Momen is a demon that wraps itself around victims and this nature is reflected in its effect,” Shikyo explained, “the wrapping has lowered your Ace Monster by 500.” “Then thank goodness I still have Wildheart left,” José said, “He’ll do the job for me instead.” The primitive-looking warrior unsheathed his huge sabre and readied himself to attack. “A kamikaze attack!” exclaimed Shikyo. “I wanted to play it during my first attack, but it’s never too late,” said José as his Trap Card opened. “But Wildheart’s immune to Traps, so there’s no point in making him stronger,” Shikyo said. “Who needs to strengthen my monster when I can weaken your monster instead,” José said, “My Swamp of the Fallen Trap Card will do just that, halving its Attack.” Suddenly, a shot of swamp slime splattered all over the Shutendoji. (750/800) Wildhear proceeded to slash it in half, with success at that. José (LP: 1100) Shikyo (LP: 850)
“Perhaps I should be thanking you because without any monster now, I can play this,” Shikyo said. His face-down Trap opened up the door of a dark gloomy Shinto shrine appeared. “The Shinto shrines house undead spirits from the Other Side, and this card is used to bring them to this plane,” Shikyo said, “so let me call forth Goka, the Pyre of Malice!” Suddenly, a solemn ring of a Buddhist bell struck and echoed throughout the Iroquois forest. The shrine doors ominously creaked open and a giant bronze Buddhist bell came into view. “A bell?” wondered José. Suddenly, the bell rang again…and a hellish roar was heard instead. The entire bronze bell was lit aflame and the flames later took the form of a demonic pyre. (2200/1900) “Not just any bell, but Goka, the Pyre of Malice,” Shikyo said, “I believe I mentioned it as the monster that I banished earlier for Power Baton’s effect.” “I play Shift Down then, which decreases my Speed Counters by…6,” José said. True to what he said, his Prongs really did slow down drastically until it was far behind his opponent’s. (4-7) He looked at his cards drawn and grinned. “And listen closely, because I Set 2 face-downs as my final move,” he said. Although José had already ended, Shikyo didn’t even draw his card. Yet, their Standby Phases began with the increase of Speed Counters. (5- “Since I used Power Baton on my previous turn, I cannot draw now,” said Shikyo, “but I still got my other tricks left here. Take for example, during my Standby Phase; I can Special Summon a Fireball Token in Defence Mode.” Suddenly, the infernal flames within Goka flared up again and a small fireball with a demonic face appeared. (100/100) “As I expected, a weak monster was Summoned and I could use Terra Firma Gravity to attack,” José thought as he stared at his face-down card, “but there’s still Goka, but I got him covered against Wildheart.” “Now I activate my Pyre of Malice’s effect,” Shikyo, “by Releasing a FIRE Monster like the Fireball Token, it gains 500 Attack Points.” Suddenly, the Fireball Token retreated into its source and the flaming bell burnt even greater. (2700/1900) In his response, José gulped in his possible distress. “Goka, the Pyre of Malice attacks Wildheart with Hellfire,” he declared. “Fallen for it, my Trap Card Covering Fire activates,” José declared, “this will…” “Here comes my own Counter Trap,” Shikyo returned, with his last card played, “this is called Dark Bribe and it negates your Spell and Trap Card, but you can draw a card in all this.” Covering Fire was shattered into pieces, as was all hopes for Josehawa to win the duel. He looked at his drawn-card, Elemental Stratos. “Oh the irony of life sometimes,” he said, “do the right thing and finish me off.” Goka wasted no time in this, and it spewed its hellish flare at Wildheart. The resulting fire even hit the Prongs and it veered off course to a crash. José (LP: 0) Shikyo (LP: 850) “Now, perhaps you want to talk things out like gentlemen,” Shikyo said as he stopped his own Aka-Oni. However, the Iroquois Ranger responded by taking something out of his pocket; it was a pistol aimed at him. “Start with what you’re doing here and what is your connection with the two people we had found?” he asked. Shikyo was completely calm in all this, dropping a small marble onto the ground and smoke covered the surrounding area. Coughing a few times before the smoke cleared away, he found all that remained was his oni helmet and a katana was pointed at his neck. Without his mask or helmet, Shikyo’s face was quite handsome, if not for the cross-shaped scarring around his eyes. “Ho ho, if it isn’t that Jap,” Arep remarked, “I’ve seen enough for now. Master would be fuming.” He restarted his Eros for a final journey out, but his roaring engines were heard by Josehawa. He ducked at the katana and fired a few shots from his gun at the rock formations above, but they only hit the rocks. “We were seen by someone else, we don’t have that much time,” José said, “so who you are really?” “Let’s just say that I’m a close friend of Elisabeth Sutherland…” Shikyo said, keeping his katana and hopping on his D-Wheel, “and I owe her a lot. Just send them a ride to New York will do.” 05:17, 14 May 2092 Buffalo, Iroquois Six Nations League, Occidental Union Hours since that duel, it was still early dawn in Buffalo and thus dark. However, a large bus with the bold words ‘To New York’ on it was about to leave town. At its main door, Josehawa and the Great Sachem were escorting Elise and Vladimir to the bus. Overhead, Shikyo spied upon them from a building’s skyline. “This bus will take you guys to New York by noon latest without any road jam,” said José, “thanks for all your cooperation with us. We welcome you for any future journeys here.” After they boarded the bus and it left for the road ahead, Josehawa was left alone with his uncle the Great Sachem of his tribe. “Uncle, are you certain she’s the one?” José asked. “There is no doubt; the spirits don’t lie when I sensed a strong presence here,” said the Great Sachem, “Nephew, there will be a time where in you are needed to help her and she’ll receive the blessings of the spirits themselves.” “If that is the case, then I’ll do what I must then,” said José. It should be noted that other similar organisations include the Sequoya Rangers of Sequoya Five Nations State (former Oklahoma) or the Dual National Guardians of the Lakota-Cheyenne Alliance. (former Montana) Most of these recruits were Amerindians, while Caucasians, Negroes and other races (such as Latinos or Asians) do participate. Their jobs ranged from protection of natural boundaries to common police officers or even anti-terrorist units. The Iroquois Rangers are frequently praised as an elite force in the Union, equal to the esteemed Royal Order of His Britannic Majesty. Next Chapter (Click to View)
As Elise and Vladimir returned to New York, Ali and Gertrud spent the free time in New York and in a certain convention between two scientists’ common interests. And they met someone hot in spirits and a businessman to the core. Next on Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU – Ch 16 – Garage Sale! Come one; come all for our next duel! |

Ch 16-Garage Sale (Click to View)
07:13, 14 May 2092 Iroquois-New York Land Border, New England, Occidental Union Across the border between Iroquois League and New York Area, the traffic was busy and almost jammed with ongoing cars and vehicles of all kinds. Among them was a bus heading for New York from the Iroquois; the same one that Elise and Vladimir took off earlier that day. Inside that bus, most of its passengers were already sleeping away due to boredom. In fact, Elise and Vladimir were barely awake by then. Elise took a look at a holo-screen fixed in the bus, at this time the morning news would be on and a newscaster in an outdoor location by a cavern and the familiar church nearby. “Good morning, people over across New England, “Gabby here, on the location of a landslide. And where may this place be you ask? We are currently at the Ohio-Virginia border, near the town of Benjaminshire and its famous landmark, the Crimson Cathedral. Let’s ask an officer in the vicinity on the details.” The camera then turned towards a few Sheriffs of the town; one of them had his arm bandaged by a paramedic. “This here is Sheriff Jeremy Mosby, allegedly present on the site itself,” the newscaster said, “Mr. Mosby, would you be so kind as to describe the events that transpired here?” “Well, I was patrolling the region that time...when I saw…saw this…” he described, “…this suspicious character lurking…around the Crimson Cathedral. I gave chase to him…and ended up into this tunnel. But, then it collapsed…but I fled in time…no sure for that guy though…” Then, another Sheriff with a more decorative uniform grabbed the newscaster’s mic from her. “Superintendent Jonathan MacRichardson here and I would like to make a further statement on this tunnel discovered,” he said, “We have found out that it is a secret passageway between here and Dixieland. Under orders from the Union Congress, we are now shutting it down.” “So in regards to this issue of these secret tunnels, what is the legislation behind it now?” she asked. “I am in no position to say it, but several officials have met up in Philadelphia Federal District to discuss on the matter,” he said, “I am told that legislation would be released to the press by nightfall.” “Ok, and until tonight for perhaps a new law made,” she said, “back to you, Hank.” The holo-screen then phased out to a man sitting in the station. “And on the local news, the World Trade Centre will be organising the Multi-Science Convention for the first time in our American continent,” he said, “among them would be the Relativity Physics Convention, Engineering Convention, Biochemistry Convention…” Also, Gertrud was watching the same news broadcast as well in another holo-screen kept on the Revolution. She dug into her pockets, and took out two tickets from it. “Damn it, that I have no one to go with,” she whined, “it would be so sad to go there alone…or do I?”

On the way back to New York, we had heard this news. And this could be bad news for Elise, who needs to get to Dixieland. But she’ll have to worry about them later. We take you back to New York, where scientist idlers await. In a convention hall of many things in a place most infamous for attacks, a new duel was set and it may decide… 00000000000000000000
09:17, 14 May 2092 Revolution, New York Harbour, New York Metropolitan Zone Up in the morning on New York Harbour, the scene of the Revolution was no surprise to the locals, who were told that it was a military ship allied to them. The sole inhabitants of the craft were only two however; these two being Ali and Gertrud. Gertrud entered into the control brig, and found Ali sleeping on his chair again. “Poor guy, he must still be worked up over last night,” she said, “perhaps it wouldn’t such a good idea that…” Suddenly, a beeping sounded and woke Ali from his rest rather abruptly. Gertrud went up to the control and pressed a button to receive it, and Joseph Sutherland was on the line via hologram. “Finally, I had been calling you for hours already. Don’t tell me you’re slept the whole night,” said Sutherland. “Sorry sir, but how Elise is now?” he asked. “Ha ha, that was what I was calling the whole night for,” laughed Sutherland, “she’s safe and sound and on her way back to New York. If I’m not right, she will be back sometime today.” “Well that’s a good relief,” Ali said. “Indeed, but you have a job to do,” Sutherland resumed to his usual serious tone, “you need to rebuild the Brunnhilde or a similar craft as the original one was badly damaged during the crash onto Iroquois.” “Then I must need supplies for it,” Ali said, “I mean, there are some spare parts I can salvage from the ship here…but I need a lot more important parts that I can’t just anyhow take from here.” “Don’t worry, we have a solution here,” Gertrud butted in, “there is a convention in the World Trade Centre on the sciences…and there’s even a place there for some spare parts under Engineering.” “Wonderful jolly good idea, you go do that,” said Sutherland, “I’m out and best of luck.” His hologram disappeared from the machine, leaving both scientists alone. “Now what you’re saying about here?” he asked. Gertrud simply showed him the ticket to the convention. “They say seeing is believing, so believe now,” Gertrud said, “let us go and get those parts.” 11:07, 14 May 2092 Multi-Science Convention, World Trade Centre, Lower Manhattan District Manhattan District was the centre of New York itself, where the Federation Building and World Trade Centre resided. As usual, the World Trade Centre would be ever-busy with the ongoing Multi-Science Convention, the first of its kind in America. (The rest were conducted so far in London, Berlin, Greater Tokyo, Dai Hong Kong, Paris, Prague, Helsinki, Copenhagen, etc) The Multi-Science Convention could be perceived as heaven for science fanatics. It had many display works on famous works, and even some dangerous demonstrations at that. Ali and Gertrud (with a headscarf and sunglasses incognito) were touring around the crowded area. Ali took notice of the many security cameras and the many NYPD officers stationed in the vicinity. “Security’s sure tight in here,” Ali mentioned. “This place had been the hotspot for terrorists for years, and it took a lot of decision-making just for the International Scientist Council to take this place,” Gertrud said, “and look, there’s another good place over there.” The German scientist pointed towards a stall selling various electronic parts called ‘Big Dick’s Cheap Parts’. While they were browsing around, a short Texan man in his mid-40s and wearing a white Western outfit crept up from behind. “Howdy, y’all welcome to Big Dick’s Cheap Parts and I’m Big Dick!” he introduced with a yell of vigour. “You don’t look so big from my point of view,” Ali joked, measuring the Texan salesman (without his large hat) up to his stomach area. “Ok big guy, I know you come here on this almighty fine day looking for cheap goods from me,” Big Dick said. “And you would charge for saying your height,” Ali continued. “No no, that would be unsporting of me as a businessman and I lose out in the end too,” Big Dick claimed, “instead of endless browsing, how about you say your needs and I get them for ye.” “Bet a second-hand place like yours don’t keep a hydrogen combustor,” said Ali. “My, that is quite a challenge you set for me…not!” Big Dick laughed, “I can remember all my dealings so clearly that I need no notebook. Just a month…I got myself a working hydrogen combustor from the Russian Army in Moscow. A most generous lot those Russies…with the correct payment.” “But I need the cartridge type, not the Russian ballistic missile type!” Ali demanded. “You should’ve said that earlier!” Big Dick cried, “I got that…just fresh from my last trip to Greater Tokyo yesterday.” “You must the resourceful type of guy,” Gertrud said. “Of course, of course, I am only a loyal member of the Dealers’ League,” he proclaimed, “we set the rule of merchants everywhere and this stabilises the society altogether.” “I trust you now,” Ali said, “so I also need…a holo-screen projector, surround sound system, the Turbo Duel system for the Bamides D-Wheels…” 11:32, 14 May 2092 Big Dick’s Cheap Parts, Multi-Science Convention, World Trade Centre, Lower Manhattan District After some time, Big Dick returned to his stall to meet Ali and Gertrud. With him, he had two boxes full of equipment on a trolley. Due to his height, he was aided by a NYPD officer, pushing the trolley. After he reached the destination, the officer walked off. “Good help we got here, not like back in Singapore with all those busy-like-hell ingrates,” he praised, “their government has received my complaint and hope that’ll improve their attitude.” “You’re quite well-travelled too,” Gertrud noted. “To all four corners of the world, I can assure you,” Big Dick boasted, “wherever there be business to be made, I’ll be there! And all these stuff cost you 1,000 New English pounds, but before you make an outcry…I offer ye a special offer.” “What offer?” Gertrud asked. “That is if we duel, and the costs are cut by 50% if the buyer wins,” he explained. “And what if the buyer loses,” Ali said. “Then he’ll merely pay in full as simple as that,” Big Dick said, “I won’t be cheating my customers here, no sir. But I must warn you that a traveller like me has come across a great deal of things.” He scurried through another stack of boxes and pulled out his Duel Disk. Then, he took out a set of cards from his pockets and fitted it in. “So who be my opponent in this bout?” he asked, with the enthusiasm of a child. “I will be your opponent, Big Dick,” Gertrud said as she took off her disguise, “and I take it you would know me now.” “Miss Gertrud Eisenstein, you’re much more beautiful in person,” Big Dick said, “I got a spare Duel Disk too for guests’ use.” Taking another Duel Disk from the box, she fitted it around her arm and fitted in her deck as well. “It fits good, must be the one-size-fits-all type,” said Gertrud, “and let’s duel!” As the duel was about to start, some people in the vicinity all heard the call and soon crowded around to see the spectacle. Big Dick (LP: 4000) Gertrud (LP: 4000)
“Alright, Merchant’s Law says that the customers always take the first step,” Big Dick said, with a friendly gesture. “Why thank you,” she replied, drawing a card, “I Summon the Naturia Guardian in Attack Mode.” Suddenly, a large growth sprouted from the ground. It grew to become a tree with the vague craving of a bearded old man’s face on it. Part of this ‘tree’ was overgrown with wild vine. (1600/400) She then stared at Big Dick, who took the hint quickly. “Done already, I expected more from the Western European Champion,” he said, “well…here I go!” He slowly held onto his next card and dramatically drew it out with great force. He looked at it and the rest of his hand and laughed in joy. “Can you believe it? Just first turn alone and I got in me hands a combo that always shook the folks up!” he proclaimed, “reminds me of that time in Las Vegas…” “Can you then show us this so-called great combo of yours?” someone from the audience cried. “Ok ok, don’t get all worked up now,” he said as he played a card, “I reckon a Champ like yourself would’ve seen a Foolish Burial Spell Card. Folks in Hollywood link Texans with premature burials, and this card does just that.” He broke off his speech and carefully searched through his deck for a card. After getting it, he showed it for all to see; some card called Quantity. He then discarded it to the Graveyard slot. “And now, I play the Flute of Hamelin,” he continued, “you heard of the Pied Piper story? This card does the trick of sending all copies of a monster that I sent to the Graveyard this turn. And guess what, I got 2 more Quantities.” He searched for his whole deck for the 2 said cards, and discarded them off. “Enough with numbers, I Summon some Quality to the field in Attack Mode,” he said. In a burst of light, a Machine appeared. It was roughly humanoid, and his head was spherical. (1200/500) Just then, a few of vines from Naturia Guardian wrapped around Quality. (1900/400) “When you Normal Summon a Monster, my Naturia Guardian can exploit its life force by 300 points,” Gertrud explained, “but I don’t think you would be attacking in the first place.” “I got loads of time for it,” Big Dick reassured, “all is left is for these 3 cards to place their places below.” Three cards were seen Set upon the field. Naturia Guardian let go of Quality, resuming its regular stats. (1600/400) “Did he just use up all cards in his hand…on his first turn?” Ali noted, “really like a cowboy.” “And I draw,” Gertrud called, “I Summon the Naturia Beetle in Attack Mode!” Suddenly, a cute Hercules beetle appeared. Despite being called as an Insect, it looked more of an acorn design. (400/1800) “And I top it off with the Pot of Greed Spell Card,” she said, while drawing 2 cards and her Beetle glowed. (1800/400) “What in San Hill…” Big Dick exclaimed. “My Naturia Beetle will have its stats swapped once a Spell Card is played,” she said, “and now…my Naturia Guardian attacks your Quantity.” Vines sprouted out from the tree-like guardian and whipped fiercely at the humanoid Machine. It was badly broken, and exploded. Big Dick (LP: 3600) Gertrud (LP: 4000) “Ha, when you destroyed my Quality, you have fallen for its effect,” Big Dick gloated, “this lets me Summon all the Quantities I can amass in the Graveyard, three…” Three cards slid out of Big Dick’s Graveyard slot and he played all of them. They were a group of similar spherical humanoid drone-like Machines. (500/400 x3) “And I activate the Cyber Summon Blaster,” he continued as a cannon-tank appeared, “reminds me of this World War II military parade I saw in St. Petersburg once. Anyway, it deals you 300 points of Damage for every Machine Monster Special Summoned.” The cannon-tank charged up with energy and fired off three electrical blasts at Gertrud. However, she discarded her top card (Naturia Sunflower) and a cute rock with eyes appeared. (1200/1200) “By playing a Trap Card, you have allowed me to Summon the Naturia Rock to the field as long I discard the top card of my deck,” Gertrud said. Big Dick (LP: 3600) Gertrud (LP: 3100)
“And sorry, but quantity is not most certainly not quality, and this does not stop my Naturia Beetle from attacking you,” Gertrud said, “Attack the middle one.” “Hey now, I activate the Trap Card called Alert,” he said, “and through this card, I can activate a face-down Continuous Spell Card…like my Special Coating Body.” Another card opened up, it showed a picture of a Quantity glowing with a golden metallic coat. Due to a new Spell Card, Naturia Beetle’s stats fell. (400/1800) The middle Quality spotted the incoming threat and fired a series of gunfire at it, destroying it. Big Dick (LP: 3600) Gertrud (LP: 3000)
“Naturia Rock, you take the lead now,” she continued as the small boulder hurled itself towards the same Quality, but it rolled back instead. Big Dick (LP: 2900) Gertrud (LP: 3000)
“This is my Special Coating Body and it reinforces all my Quantities that are Special Summoned with a new and improved paintjob, one that prevents their destruction,” Big Dick said. “But is it worth it to risk your Life Points just to Summon…eh…a bunch of junk,” Gertrud wondered. “Don’t look down upon my Quantities for they are very versatile beings,” Big Dick cautioned. “Fine then, I end my turn,” she said. Big Dick grew anxious as to his draw, and his anxiety went sky high as he saw what he got, Gamble. “Ok, I move all my Quantities to Defence and Set this card and then you can go on,” he said. All his Quantities all crouched down and a Set card at the back. Then, Gertrud made her draw, adding her hand size to six again. “Bingo! I play the Trap Card called Gamble!” Big Dick declared and the card opened, “with a flip of coin, I make a guess of its result. If I’m right, then it’s five cards for me.” “But if otherwise, I can go for another round and I may get a card to destroy your defence line,” Gertrud mentioned, “this card is always too risky and luck-based for my tastes.” “But isn’t the world of duelling and business all about luck and getting the right cards,” he said, “I once spent a day scouring all corners of Europe hounding a wealthy collector over the rare Caesar-Type D-Wheel to be sold, and I succeeded when we finally duelled on some private Mediterranean island.” He took out a coin from his pocket and showed both sides to everyone around. (It was a normal coin indeed) He then flipped it up across the air, turning endlessly midair. “…Heads!” he cried. The coin fell down and flipped some more, then a face was seen on it in its final position. Big Dick and everyone saw this; Big Dick laughing out loud as he drew 5 cards at once. “Luckily for you, I still have no way to break through your defences,” Gertrud said, “so I Set 2 face-down cards and end my turn.” “Draw,” Big Dick said with another draw, “If your Beetle were still here, then it would be jumping for joy by now.” He took another card, and played it right away. It was a Speed Card, showing a sniper gun, with a targeting range. “This is Sniper Mode, which allows all Level 3 and below Machines to attack its opponents,” Big Dick said, “and to let you know, all my Quantities are ready to shoot you head-on as soon as I put them all into Attack Mode. Let’s go, boys!” Gatling guns opened from openings as all three Quantities stood up. All of them fired a near endless barrage of bullets at Gertrud herself. Big Dick (LP: 2900) Gertrud (LP: 1500)
“That was…quite impressive actually,” Gertrud admitted. “Thought you would say that; they always say that when I shower them with bullets,” Big Dick laughed, “I throw one-two cards down and you can go next.” “Good enough,” Gertrud said, drawing a card, “I play Twister! By paying 500 Life Points, I can destroy a face-up Spell or Trap Card.” “No goodie…” Big Dick frowned. A twister swept up and blew off Special Coating Body. Due to this, all the Quantities lost their shiny coating, and resumed their regular dull colouring. Big Dick (LP: 2900) Gertrud (LP: 1000)
“And I Summon the Naturia Triumph to the field,” she continued. She set the card down, and a creature appeared. It was Plant-like, and looked more like a strawberry with the usual cute appearance of the archetype. (600/1500) “And this guy is a Tuner for your info,” Gertrud said, “and I Tune Triumph with my Rock now!” Naturia Triumph squealed with joy and disappeared into 2 rings, that flew into Naturia Rock. The Rock dissolved into three stars. “Synchro Summon! Come forth, the Naturia Beast!” Gertrud cried. Suddenly, a beam of light struck on the field. The Naturia Beast, a tiger with green grass-like fur and bark-like limbs appeared and let out a roar. (2200/1700) “Reminds me of this trip to a safari in India once,” Big Dick mentioned, while trying to keep his positivity. “You’re so much of an optimist here. But what I’m about to do won’t be so optimistic for you,” Gertrud said, “Naturia Guardian, attack the Quantity now!” The Naturia Guardian let out a moan as it let out vines to attack Quantity and it went into an explosion. Big Dick (LP: 1800) Gertrud (LP: 1000)
“And my Naturia Beast will have a go at you to finish you off,” Gertrud declared. Naturia Beast roared again and leapt at another Quantity. However, a face-down card was opened; Defence Draw. Despite the Quantity destroyed by a crushing claw, Big Dick was spared from early defeat and drew a new card. “You really got lucky now,” Gertrud said, “guess it comes in with the trade. I just end my turn with 2 face-downs. ” Big Dick wasted no time and quickly drew out his next card. “I use Sniper Mode’s effect to attack you directly with both Quantities,” he declared quickly. Both the Quantities readied their Gatling guns and fired them at Gertrud again. However, Naturia Beast took the blunt of the attacks and bursted into shards. “I activate Synchro Barrier, which involves me to Release a Synchro and reduce all Battle Damage dealt this turn to zero,” Gertrud explained, “I Summoned Naturia Beast not just for the fun of it.” “I got your point, now get mine,” the short trader said as he played another card, “I play Magic Planter and by ridding myself of a Continuous Trap Card, I can draw 2 cards.” Suddenly, the Cyber Summon Blaster vanished into light grains and the Texan dealer drew 2 cards. (Ruklamba the Spirit King and Fiendish Engine Ω) “And now, I got another point to make out,” he said. A new card opened up, showing a demonic face burning in searing flames. “This is Basara, and by Releasing a monster, I can destroy a monster of a higher Level,” he said, “so I Release the Level 1 Quantity and use it on your Level 4 Naturia Guardian.” “That’s what you think,” Gertrud said, “Activate Trap Card, Shining Silver Force!” The second Quantity disappeared into the Trap Card, and a fireball with a vague image of Quantity flew out. However, the fire was reflected back by a silver barrier formed around Naturia Guardian and destroyed both Basara, and Sniper Mode. “It activates with your Trap Card that damages me, and then it will instead destroy all your face-up Spells and Trap Cards at one go,” she explained, “hence your face-down was spared.” “I just Set this face-down and that will be all,” he said as he put the card down. “I draw,” Gertrud said, “I Summon the Naturia Dragonfly in Attack Mode.” Suddenly, a red dragonfly with big buggy eyes appeared. (1200/400) “And its effect allows it to gain 200 additional Attack Points for every Naturia Monster in the Graveyard, and I got five o them including the Naturia Sunflower discarded for Naturia Rock,” she said, (2200/400) “Attack the last Quantity, Naturia Guardian!” The Naturia Guardian unleashed another assault of vines and lashed at Quantity, destroying it in an instance. Big Dick (LP: 700) Gertrud (LP: 1000)
“And now my Naturia Dragonfly will…” Gertrud said. “Don’t just jump the gun yet, milady,” Big Dick said, “I believe I had taken over 1000 points of damage, is that not right?” “Yeah, and what’s your point here?” asked someone from the audience. “Great, that means I get to stay in the game after all,” he laughed, “after taking the Damage, I am allowed to Special Summon this particular monster…I call upon thee, Ruklamba the Spirit King and he’s my shield.” Suddenly, a new creature appeared. It was alligator on hind legs with a flowing mane of hair and watery eyes. (1000/2000) “Naturia Dragonfly attacks Ruklamba then,” she said. The sonic buzz from Naturia Dragonfly began to overwhelm the Spirit King and it shattered into pixels soon afterwards. “I Set a card and end turn,” Gertrud said, “and try some more.” “And try I shall,” Big Dick responded, “I activate my Backup Soldier Trap Card, which lets me take up to 3 Normal Monsters with less than 1500 Attack each back on hand.” Suddenly, all three Quantities all returned to his hand. “And now, I play the simple Monster Reborn Spell Card,” he said. Suddenly, Ruklamba rose from the ground and growled with its gapping mouth. (1000/2000) “But he won’t be here for long,” Big Dick said, “his effect requires me to Release it, but I am able to Summon as many monsters from my hand as possible, given that they add up to no more than 2000.” “And all three Quantities are 500 apiece,” Ali mentioned, “good thing Cyber Summon Blaster was destroyed.” However, only 2 Quantities were Summoned instead. (500/400 x2) “2 of them! You’re planning something now,” Gertrud suspected. “Yup, I Release these two Quantities for something with quality,” Big Dick said as he revealed his Monster Card, “the Fiendish Engine Ω!” He slid the 2 Quantities into his Graveyard slot and they melded into a single globe of light. Suddenly, a gigantic form loamed over the field. It was a Machine designed like a monster truck with red overtones and a demonic appearance. (2800/2000) “But by Normal Summoning, you have made my Guardian stronger,” Gertrud noted. Vines from the Naturia Guardian went up and wrapped around the demonic machine. (1900/400) “And it can gain 1000 Attack Points with only one small catch,” the salesman said. Suddenly, the Fiendish Engine roared and power literally overloaded throughout its circuitry. (3800/2000) “Attack her Naturia Guardian now and bash it good with Motor Rampage!” he declared. The glaring eyes of the Fiendish Engine glowed and it roared in pure rage, charging towards the Naturia Guardian at full speed. “Activate Trap Card, Naturia Disaster!” Gertrud declared. Her face-down card opened up, showing a giant hurricane in a jungle region blowing everything. “I take it that you had journeyed to Eastern South America or West Africa in your lifetime and seen how the hurricanes from the Atlantic ravage the region,” Gertrud said, “this card activates when you threaten my Naturia Monster with an attack, and it stirs up the wrath of Nature itself; destroying your monster instead and you lose Life Points equal to half that monster’s Attack.” “Double no-good,” Big Dick said as his last words. Suddenly, the winds stirred up within the building itself, becoming faster and faster till the rate of a standard storm. It concentrated into a single tornado blast and shot out to blow Fiendish Engine Ω into scrap metal and they were hoisted up in the sky. As the winds stopped, the metal remnants were actually overhead of Big Dick and fell upon him. Big Dick (LP: 0) Gertrud (LP: 1000)
As the duel was over, all the Solid Vision effects were shut down and Big Dick lied on the floor. Soon, he realised the system off and stood up. With that wondrous outcome, the crowd gathered about up to over 200 were all roaring in cheers and the NYPD officers were dispatching the crowd. (not after cheering along with the crowd) “So…its 500 New English pounds for all those parts,” he said, “please pay up now.” “I could pay for 1000 actually, but 500 it is then,” Ali said as he took out the notes and gave them to the dealer. “Enjoy and hope we may meet in the future,” Big Dick said, waving out to them. After the ordeal, it was almost a few minutes before noon as they left the World Trade Centre with their newly-bought items and into Manhattan streets, a similarly busy society like the rest of New York would be. “And in the end, there’s no terrorists lurking around,” Ali claimed. “Hey look!” Gertrud cried. “Huh, Neo Al-Qaeda?” he wondered. A bus moved towards a bus stop near them, and its passengers left it. Among them were Elise and Vladimir they left the bus. Gertrud and Ali went over to greet them. “Hey, you’re back,” Ali, “and for how long?” “Just recently and what are you two doing out here?” Elise asked. “Rebuilding a good machine that we all shall remember forever,” said Ali, “but perhaps you should know where your sister and the rest go off to…” “The Crimson Cathedral in Ohio Province, the Sheriffs got to it and shut it down,” Elise said, “any other ways out now?” “And this could be worse indeed,” Vladimir added, “till now, only Texas, New Orleans, Rio Grande and Cuba actually reinforces laws against Dixieland immigration, but now this conference they hold will also involve New England, Sequoya and Great Plains.” NAPEU Archive (Click to View)

Due to this, it had caused the Revolution of New Orleans which had the support of France of the AEU and Quebec of the Occidental Union. After rebellion, New Orleans was founded as an independent nation. However, due to its proximity to Dixieland’s State of Louisiana, it was eventually called under French protection and the local government was abolished in favour of a French military protectorate. Currently, problems faced in New Orleans include illegal immigration from Louisiana and the occasional attacks from Dixieland, who claimed to be “liberating” New Orleans from French rule. *=Population is uncertain due to illegal immigration from Louisiana. For now, we divert our attention from the American crisis and go on to Corsica, a Mediterranean island dependency of France and home of the French Foreign Legion there. There, we are further introduced with this legendary legion and their tasks ahead and who is appointed to New Orleans? Next on Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU – Ch 17 – Honour! Riding Duel, Acceleration! |

Ch 17-Honour (Click to View)
19:06, 14 May 2092 Occidental Union Congress Building, Philadelphia Federal District, Occidental Union With the abandonment of Washington DC as the capital city, the historical Philadelphia was chosen as the new capital city for the former Super-Union and the current Occidental Union with power as a federal district like Washington used to be. It would be the seat of government of the superstate ruling Anglo-Franco America and the Anglo-Saxon Motherland of the British Isle, and the Congress Building served as a diplomatic ground for the Union and its neighbouring states (such as Cuba and South America). Outside the Congress Building that night, reporters from across the world swarmed towards the Building as the door opened up. A small team of Secret Service agents first marched out, heralding the coming of the Speaker of Congress, Jennifer O’Brian, an ethnic Irish of Britannian nationality. She walked towards a stand and took out a mic for her speech. “Fellow citizens of the Union, foreign brethren from both Cuba and Nouvelle-Orleans, and people from the 4 corners of the free world, our Union has realised of a tragic flaw in our administration of the Immigration Issue at hand,” she said, “however, we have come together to discuss on this issue and have come to a conclusion. As of now, the Republic of New England, Economic Union of the Great Plains and Sequoya Five Nations State has declared to render all immigrations to and from Dixieland illegal.” Her last statement would startled an uproar from the press surrounding, who were all shouting their queries across. “Then what will be the case for those who already immigrated here from Dixieland illegally?” asked a reporter. “They will be safe, since the new law would be only in effect from the minute it is declared to the public,” she said. In New York, Elise and the others (except for Ali) were also watching this news development as well. “This would’ve happened someday,” Vladimir said as he turned to Elise, “if only we also go to Ohio then…I’m sorry for dragging you with me.” “Not your fault, and I wanted to drag myself along in the first place,” Elise verified. “But the problem remains that how to get there?” Gertrud said. Suddenly, Vladimir’s holo-phone rang out an Ochi Chernye tune (an Old Russian Romance) and he quickly took the call. Chiming’s face appeared on it, and he looked quite unusually worried-stricken. “Vladimir…” he said, “…I believe you had seen the news…” “Yeah, they say there’re laws barring goings to Dixieland and what about it?” Vladimir said. “…Eh…come to Nouvelle-Orleans…by tomorrow night perhaps…” he said, before cutting off. “Weird, he’s rarely like that,” Vladimir said, “what happened to him?” On the other side of the call, Chiming kept away his holo-phone and looked out to his surroundings. It was a swampy region, with dozens of French Legionnaires guarding a cavern that was blocked off. An Egyptian man of his late teens stood next to him, and looked at Chiming. “You sure on doing this?” the Egyptian asked. “Yeah, that’s the only way,” Chiming said. 00000000000000000000
The law has decreed illegality over going to Dixieland and all available paths are being sealed off as we speak. However, a greater mystery resides over the fact regarding Chiming? The questions of where and what are upon us, but the question of why is the underlying detail. For us to see how things had occurred, the past must be seen first…back in Corsica 2 days ago… 00000000000000000000
18:24, 12 May 2092 French Foreign Legion HQ, Corsica Dependency, French Fifth Republic After dropping Natasha off to Baltland, the Le Gallia returned to its HQ in Corsica by evening. The HQ consisted of a main flat-level building with several towers and this was surrounded by a stadium-type platform for Turbo Duel purposes. In that timeframe, Chiming was due in the cafeteria with most of the lower Legionnaires (as the higher-ups from Lt. Colonel onwards are allowed a special spot of their choosing to dine). Chiming grabbed the night’s dinner (Italian spaghetti) and sat down in the benches with his fellow Legionnaires. Opposite him was a young Egyptian male, looking at him with interest. “Hello there,” the Egyptian greeted, “never saw you in these parts before. Are you a newbie?” “No, I’m been here for quite some time,” Chiming said, “I am Warrant Officer Chiming de Baptiste, to let you know. And you’re…” “Ramut Ishtar, Major of the Legion Pacific Branch,” he introduced, “so it appears that I’m your superior. It’s nice to see you, especially after all those years working out in French Polynesia.” “Explains how we rarely see each other,” Chiming said, chewing his food, “I am mostly posted off to Western Europe frontier.” “Ok, I bet we will be seeing more of each other in the near future,” Ramut said, carrying his tray away, “good day, Mr. de Baptiste.” Later on, after everyone had mostly finished their given dinner, it was cleaning duty for the lower-ranking officers. And the Warrant Officer rank was low enough to earn Chiming cleaning the dishes and it also happened to be his turn. Suddenly, an announcement broke through the PA system of the whole building. “May the following officers please head to General Mugabe’s office – Lt. Colonel Margarf Godwin, Major Ramut Ishtar, Warrant Officer Chiming de Baptiste, Captain…” “Guess I’m excused from kitchen duty now,” Chiming said. He took off the kitchen gloves and disposed of them into a chute, leaving the cafeteria. 18:47, 12 May 2092 General Mugabe’s Office, French Foreign Legion HQ, Corsica Dependency, French Fifth Republic The General’s Office was among the higher storeys of the building, and as a high-ranking general, General Mugabe was allowed the third highest tower as his workplace. The General’s Office was circular like the other offices of the various Generals of the Legion (and even the official Army). A group of a little over a dozen men were gathered there, with the Algerian General Mugabe seated in front. “Gentlemen, perhaps all of you are wondering why I have called you here in my office today,” Mugabe said, “well, it is in regards from the Nouvelle-Orleans situation.” “General sir, I believe that I heard that the previous Sub-Lord Protector had been assassinated,” Ramut mentioned. “And now, the French military command there wants the Legion to provide the Sub-Lord Protector,” he said, “and I put Lt. Colonel Godwin in charge of this specially forged unit and him to be the Sub-Lord Protector of Nouvelle-Orleans.” “And what about us…” Chiming asked. “All of you will leave your current posts and head out to Nouvelle-Orleans to backup the French Navy dispatched there,” the General said, “Sr. Gen. la François had chosen to close down borders with Louisiana and there’s been a crackdown on those pathways found. All of you will be set to leave for America by 1000 hours of the next day.” “Roger, General Sir!” the group of Legionnaires shouted united. “Good, if there’s no more questions, you may leave,” Gen. Mugabe said. “General Sir, I wish to speak with you…in private…” said Margarf. With that cue taken, the other officers left the room to the 2 higher-ups to be alone. “Margarf, this task…it’s a deadly one ahead…and I can tell that no one will truly willing to take it up,” said the General, “but bear with it while you can.” “Do not worry, I will be alright,” Margarf replied, “All I ask of you is the logistics of the operation and other information.” Meanwhile, in an elevator going down, only Chiming and Ramut were alone in it. “So we happen to be working together in the near future,” said Ramut, “good times we’ll be having.” However, Chiming was silent; his mind brooding over something else…back in Siberia… “So you are supposed to go to Dixieland, but came here to see Natasha,” Chiming said, “I can see your good intentions…but the thing about Dixieland is that it is very difficult to get through, at least from Texas, Nouvelle-Orleans, Cuba and Rio Grande. I can only say that there have been pressures over the issue to render it illegal for all surrounding states.” “…Oh…nothing…” Chiming answered. Apparently, Ramut was not pleased with the answer and pressed the ‘Stop’ button on the lift. Suddenly, the elevator stopped in its entirety and its lights were off. “Don’t lie to me, I know you’re fibbing here,” Ramut said, “Now spill it!” But then, his eyes glowed and he was silent for a moment. “Dixieland has quite a number of secret pathways that civilian refugees used to travel to what they call a Promised Land,” Ramut said, “However, this also gave the Confederate Army an easy access for siege tactics, thus the Council for the Protection of the State decided to seal off those paths. You’re planning to infiltrate one…” “Don’t just anyhow incriminate me,” Chiming implored, “…damn it…I’ll tell you…I have a friend who works in a low-profile organisation and they plan to enter the Dixieland, but he missed his trip there…due to personal reasons…” “You’re not thinking of using the one found in Nouvelle-Orleans to help him,” Ramut added. “Well…that did come across my mind,” Chiming admitted. “If they found, the higher-ups, you could be charged with high treason to the Legion,” Ramut warned, “although they couldn’t put you to death, they are very able to deport you back to Vietnam and that’s the last place you’d rather be.” “If you wanna know what I’m supposed to do for here…then let’s duel,” Chiming challenged. Ramut smiled at the Vietnamese comrade and pressed the ‘Stop’ button again, and the lights turned back on and it continued moving downward. “The duel in question would be a Turbo Duel, in the stadium platform around HQ at 1910,” Ramut said, “will be looking forward to it.” 19:08, 12 May 2092 Turbo Duel Track, French Foreign Legion HQ, Corsica Dependency, French Fifth Republic Outside, it was already night time in Corsica and the lights lit up the darkness of the building. Chiming was waiting by his Rouge Bourdon; a D-Wheel that would personally favoured and reviewed his whole deck. “Wonder if he would be using another Le Esprit…I heard the Pacific variation uses the Sky Blue colour scheme over the traditional Royal Blue,” he mused. Suddenly, he heard a loud deafening roar of engines that disrupted the silence of the night. Another D-Wheel flew into midair and it was not the standard Le Esprit at all. It was pitch-black in colour, and comparably larger than most D-Wheels. Its head was tipped with a miniature statue of Horus’s head, the Ancient Egyptian God of the Sky; while its rear end was marked with 2 fixed protrusions shaped like eagle wings. Its 2 wheels were connected by something similar to claws. Its rider wore a helmet designed with similarity to the Sky God also, and he was indeed Ramut. “Wow…you actually got a customised,” Chiming exclaimed. “It’s called the Khemwar, meaning Great Black One,” he said, “and yours?” “A 3-way mix-up of D-Wheels that I pride as the Rouge Bourdon,” Chiming said, “so let’s get this going before it gets too dark.” “Alright, let’s get going!” Ramut yelled. Both D-Wheels quickly took off and rode on the Turbo Duel Track for their destined duel. Both Chiming and Ramut quickly pressed a button on their dashboards to play a certain card. “Field Spell Speed World Set On. Autopilot Standby.” Ramut (LP: 4000) Chiming (LP: 4000)
“Sorry for yelling at you back then,” said Ramut, “to make up for it, why not you take the first turn?” “Fine then,” Chiming agreed as he drew, “I Summon the Fiend Roar Deity Urstos in Attack Mode1” (1500/200) Suddenly, a shadowy creature appeared. It was essentially a Grim Reaper of sorts with wings of blackened feathers and a mass of grey hair. “And I Set 2 face-down cards and end my turn,” he said. “I draw,” Ramut declared and their Speed Counters rose. (1-1) He then looked at his card; it was a Monster Card called Flamvell Baby. “I Summon Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 4 in Attack Mode!” Ramut declared. A portal opened and a burst of flames shot out. It formed into a plump black eagle, seemingly made of metal. (1600/1000) “Horus. Why am I not surprised?” Chiming remarked sarcastically. “I got that a lot already,” Ramut said, “and Horus will attack your Urstos.” Horus screeched as black fire formed in its mouth. “Activate Trap Card, Depth Amulet,” Chiming declared, “by discarding a card; I can negate an attack upon my monster.” He then discarded a card, and Urstos was saved from the fire blast. “Won’t let you just level up Horus to Level 8 that easily,” Chiming said, “and furthermore, my Urstos gains 400 Attack Points if I have only 2 cards or fewer.” (1900/200) “You got lucky, I Set 2 face-downs and that’s that,” Ramut said. Chiming rode towards the edge of the track and over his opponent’s Khemwar as he began to draw. (2-2) “Now I Summon another one of its comrades, the Fiend Roar Deity Grimlo!” Chiming declared. He played the card, and a new portal opened. It was a young-looking woman, in a black dress with black feathered wings. Her expression was anything but joy. (1700/1000) “And my Urstos’ effect extends to every member of his kind,” Chiming said, (2100/1000) “Urstos, attack Horus the Black Flame Dragon!” However, Ramut was perfectly calm as the cloaked monster approached the plump eagle, holding out a card. “By discarding my Flamvell Baby, I am able to permanently increase my FIRE monster’s Attack by 400,” he explained. He quickly discarded it, and a small creature of flames appeared in front of Horus and was absorbed into it. Horus then gained much invigoration and screeched louder. (2000/1000) In retaliation, it shot a burst of fire and the cloaked Urstos was ignited in it. The attack was so noticeable that even General Mugabe and Lt. Colonel Godwin turned their attention to the duel itself. “Hm…interesting match-up we’re having tonight…” Mugabe remarked. Ramut (LP: 4000) Chiming (LP: 3600)
“Since it still destroyed a monster, I can Special Summon its stronger LV 6 form in your End Phase,” Ramut said. “Something…that I won’t let you,” Chiming cried, “I still got Grimlo and she’s strong enough to tackle your Horus while it’s still weakened.” Grimlo then flew towards Horus and prepared to attack it. “Activate Trap Card, Scale Mail,” Ramut declared, “this Trap will save my dragon indeed, but it loses 1000 Attack Points.” Grimlo let out a deafening sonic screech upon Horus, but the attack did little to it. (1000/1000) However, that attack did make him lose a Speed Counter. (1-2) Ramut (LP: 2900) Chiming (LP: 3600) “Ok, I end my turn,” Chiming said. “And about time too, now I can evolve my dragon,” Ramut said, “from Level 4…to Level 6!” Suddenly, Horus glowed and it was engulfed in black flames. Soon the flames died down and the Dragon changed. It was larger for one, and looked far more draconic with an eagle beak. (2300/1600) After that, Ramut quickly drew, but his Khemwar was still lagging behind the Rouge Bourdon. (2-3) “And now, Horus attacks your Deity now!” Ramut declared. “Huh? Have you forgotten about Depth Amulet?” Chiming wondered, picking up a card in his hand. “Oh no, I have something to freeze your Traps,” Ramut said, pressing a button, “I activate my own Trap Card, Trap Stun. This will negate all Traps for this turn.” The card opened up and shot out a blast at Depth Amulet, freezing it in motion. There was then nothing more to stop the attack, and Horus burnt Grimlo without mercy. Ramut (LP: 2900) Chiming (LP: 3400)
“I Set a face-down and end my turn from here,” he said, “and then…he’ll evolve to his final Level 8, the strongest of them.” A pillar of black fire erupted and engulfed Horus again. This time, Horus grew to become a mix between dragon and eagle. It roared loudly as it was formed to its current stage. (3000/1800) “Wow…the Sky God of Horus…not many can stand to it,” Margarf mentioned. “Now that I have achieved the nurturing of this powerful beast, you will have a hard time defeating him,” said Ramut. “Draw,” Chiming said. (3-4) “Horus LV 8…a powerful monster indeed…but in Turbo Duels, more emphasis is placed over Trap Cards…” Chiming thought. “I Summon the Fiend Roar Deity Kushano in Defence Mode,” Chiming said as another fallen angelic figure appeared and covered itself, (1100/800) “…and end turn.” “Already at your wit’s ends,” Ramut claimed as he drew. (4-5) “Although it seemed almost too easy, but Depth Amulet’s still there to safeguard 2 more attacks,” Ramut thought, “…but I also know that once I end my turn, it is destroyed.” “I Summon the Max Warrior in Attack Mode!” Ramut declared. Suddenly, a Warrior appeared. It held a forked staff as his weapon, and had armour similar to cattle. (1800/800) “Also, by removing the Flamvell Baby in my Graveyard from play, I can Special Summon the Inferno,” he continued. The Flamvell Baby appeared again, as it vanished again. Soon, an even stronger flame was set ablaze and a demonic face appeared in this bonfire. Inside the ‘mouth’, there were several skulls seen inside. (1100/1900) “If I attack like this, I’ll bound to strike him down…” he thought. “Max Warrior, attack Kushano now!” Ramut declared, “And when this happens, he gains 400 Attack Points.” The Max Warrior rushed out towards the defending Kushano, ready to pierce him with the spear. (2200/800) “Activate Trap Card, Desperate Treasure!” Chiming cried, “I can only play this card should the total Attack of my monsters are inferior to that of all 3 of your monsters, which is the case here. So, I am able to draw 2 cards from my hand.” He then drew 2 cards (Amorphous Tuner and Necro Gardna) and then discarded a card to use Depth Amulet. Max Warrior’s assault was completely sealed off. “Since it didn’t destroy a monster, its Attack is still maintained,” Ramut said, (1800/800) “we’ll see how far you’re willing to go on protecting your monsters…Horus attacks Kushano now!” This time round, Chiming didn’t discard a card. Instead, he removed one – Necro Gardna. The armoured guarding monster appeared and fended off the flames of Horus. “Inferno, burn that little devil into the ground,” Ramut called and the living bonfire shot out a blast of fire at Kushano. “No…these cards can’t be discarded yet,” he thought and Kushano was burnt away. “And now my Inferno’s effect activates; after destroying a monster, I can inflict 1500 points as damage to you,” Ramut said. Suddenly, the Inferno unleashed a powerful wave of fire at Chiming’s Rouge Bourdon and burnt it badly. Ramut (LP: 2900) Chiming (LP: 1900) “Ramut…is that your…test?” Margarf thought. “Now I Set a face-down and end my turn,” he said, “and will is your protection.” Indeed, Depth Amulet was destroyed. And then, Chiming drew his next card. (5-6) “By removing Urstos and Girmlo from play, I can Special Summon the Soul of Purity and Light,” Chiming declared. Both Urstos and Grimlo appeared before they entered into a portal of shining light, and the female phantom of peace appeared. (2000/1800) “So those so-called ‘Fiends’ are LIGHT Monsters,” Ramut realised. “You better believe it,” Chiming said, “I Normal Summon the Level 2 Tuner, the Amorphous Tuner.” (0/0) The next Monster was nothing to be impressed about; it was merely a dark blob of slime always changing its shape. “This guy is completely unique as a Tuner,” said Chiming, “as its effect allows me to remove a Tuner Monster in my Graveyard from play, and it will take its identity for the turn.” He then took out his Kushano card from his Graveyard, and then the shapeless blob moulded into something similar to Kushano itself. “Now I Tune the Level 6 Soul of Purity and Light with the Level 2 Amorphous Tuner taking the name of Fiend Roar Deity Kushano,” Chiming declared. Amorphous Tuner dissolved into 2 rings, and encircled the Soul. It dissolved into 6 stars, and then majestic light shone upon the field. “The Gates of Tartarus swing forth open. The fallen ones shall ascend again,” he chanted, “Synchro Summon! Arise again, Fiend Roar Deity Valkiris!” A dark form loomed over the ever-moving D-Wheels. It was a fallen angel with leathers wings and shielded with armour of an infernal general. (2900/1700) “And Valkiris shall attack your Inferno with Fallen Pressure!” Chiming cried. Valkiris raised its two arms far apart, and a demonic circle was erected. From there, a glowing hand came out and crushed the Inferno as it was mere dust. (4-6) Ramut (LP: 1100) Chiming (LP: 1900)
“Next I use his special ability,” Chiming said, “by discarding a Fiend Monster; I can draw a new card.” He discarded his Archfiend of Gilfer and then drew a card, Hate Buster. Suddenly, Gilfer reappeared and grappled Horus’ neck. (2500/2000) “Just a measure to seal off the mighty Horus,” Chiming said, “I add a face-down to it and end turn.” “Draw,” said Ramut. (5-7) He then looked at the only one card on hand, and focused on his just-drawn Equip Shot. “Ok, I Set two face-downs…” he said, then he glared at his foe. “That’s all? I’ll give you more,” Chiming said, (6- “Activate Trap Card, Equip Shot,” Ramut declared, “this card here gives you back the Archfiend of Gilfer. I really appreciated it, but it is your monster after all.” Horus roared as it struggled and Gilfer was forced out of the Black Flame Dragon and it clung onto the attacking Valkiris. (2400/1700) “And your point is…” Chiming asked. “Now my Horus and your Valkiris must do battle instead,” Ramut said. “No…activate Trap Card,” Chiming countered. He pressed the button on his dashboard, but nothing came up. He tried again and again, but it was all to no avail. “Oh yah, once I play Equip Shot, you can’t play any other card to interfere,” Ramut mentioned. So Valkiris had no other choice than to fly towards Horus, even if it were a death match. Horus spewed its black flames and burnt the general demon. Ramut (LP: 1100) Chiming (LP: 1300)
“Damn it, I Summon the Fiend Roar Deity Luri in Attack Mode then,” Chiming relented as he placed another card down. Suddenly, a demonic cherub appeared and it grinned deviously. (200/400) “End turn…” he then said. “I draw,” Ramut said, (7-9) “you must be very much desperate that you went mad, I will just have to put you out of your misery. In fact, I won’t use my mightiest beast on you. Max Warrior, vanquish Luri now with Swift Rush!” Max Warrior cried a war cry and charged in with his pitched forked staff, and striking it down fiercely in a series of blows. (2200/800) “That’s it! Activate Trap Card!” Chiming cried and the Trap Card opened, “this is called Hate Buster, a powerful card indeed. The power of hatred shall destroy both Luri and your Max Warrior, and then you take damage equal to your Warrior’s Attack of 1800. End of story, you lose.” “Oh by the Osiris’ name, whatever should I do?” Ramut sarcastically cried, “…oh I know…activate my Damage Polariser Trap Card.” During Max Warrior’s attack, Luri broke into rage and literally exploded in its tiny fury. That explosion also took Max Warrior in it, and he was destroyed along. However, the blast was blocked off by a shield and both of them drew a card each. “Looks like you have squirmed in resistance for long enough and Divinity has judged upon thee,” Ramut chanted, “Smite him down, my Horus with your Darkness Giga Flame!” Horus let out a mighty screech and launched a blast of black flames at Chiming himself. The blast was so intense that his Rouge Bourdon was nearly destroyed by that blow. Ramut (LP: 1100) Chiming (LP: 0)
“What savagery, truly tales spoken of the Mongol Hordes or the Ottoman Turks,” General Mugabe remarked. “I can tell you that his ancestors perform such a duty of guardianship, and fought off the Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, Mongols, British and the Axis,” Margarf mentioned. “But why they would be duelling…that’s quite a mystery,” the General inquired. “But Ramut…what is your intention here…your truest intention…” Margarf wondered. After the duel, the Rouge Bourdon was rendered immobile and the Khemwar stopped by it. Ramut removed his helmet and looked at Chiming. “Ok, I will give up my plan to let slip the tunnel in Nouvelle-Orleans,” Chiming said. “I never set such conditions in the duel, this was merely a practice round and this will go down on the official records,” Ramut said as he looked up towards the towers of the Generals, “and our own higher-ups are our witnesses.” “Then why…” Chiming cried. “I hop you should be aware of staging an attempt to take them down is needed to make it convincing,” Ramut said, with his eyes glowing, “…or they could just send you back to Indochina…” 18:11, 14 May 2092 Liberty Tunnel, Outer Rim – Gaia, Franco-Protectorate of Nouvelle-Orleans The Franco-Protectorate of Nouvelle-Orleans was a small city-state exclave bordered by Dixieland after independence supported mainly by France and Quebec. It was divided into Rims, with the Inner Rim as the centre of government and military administration and the Mid Rim set aside for refugees. The Outer Rim would be split into 2 parts, the Outer Rim – Gaia and Outer Rim – Neptune. Outer Rim – Neptune was the seaport of Nouvelle-Orleans, where the Nouvelle-Orleans Shipyard resided over 500 warships from France, New England, Quebec and some from Vietnam and Maghreb Empire. Likewise, Outer Rim – Gaia was the land frontier facing Louisiana and the rest of Dixieland. Due to the endless threats from the Confederate States Army, the military was stationed there to face the battle head-on. It was there where the French Foreign Legion along with various other armies stood guard – the gates of Liberty Tunnel, a free passage for freed men under prosecution. “So everything’s according to plan,” Chiming asked, to which Ramut nodded. “I’ll cover up as much as possible for you,” Ramut whispered, “but note that this may be dangerous if discovered by anyone, especially the Lt. Colonel or the Lord Protector himself.” He then walked off inside his private tent to rest, but it was only shortly that Margarf Godwin showed up there. “Ramut, I believe I had once told you not to engage those…deadly duels with others,” Margarf warned, “I didn’t request you to be sent to the French Polynesia for nothing.” “I have no idea what you could be talking about,” Ramut replied. “Then what’s with you and Chiming, I saw that duel in Corsica that night,” he said, “and the damage, it was a Shadow Duel…just like the one you put me through…” “No, back then in Alexandria it was one. But not in Corsica,” Ramut claimed, “I have a bigger plan up here in store…for the one who defeated the Dark Synchro.” “You couldn’t be saying that you wish to…” Margarf exclaimed. “Not my wish, but the Lords of the Valley of the Kings have decreed for me to do so,” Ramut said, “this matter also affects us, the Gravekeepers too.” NAPEU Archive (Click to View)

During the 2060s, the “Decade of Balkanisation”, France held the distinction of not breaking up its vast territories unlike Communist China or the former United States. Corsican independence fronts were quickly crushed by the French Army. Since then, rebellions in the region were unknown. Next Chapter (Click to View)
Priests would say that God has a plan for all of us, so what would be the “plan” set for NAPEU in Dixieland. Now they enter a city of Virginia and see for themselves the cruelty of racism. Next on Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU – Ch 18 – Blind Faith! Lost in faith, the Lord shalt guide thee. |

RE: Yu-Gi-Oh NAPEU (Ch 17 /Arc 2 - 8 UP)
Aahh, all this political stuff is over my head.
“Don’t just anyhow incriminate me,” Chiming implored Umm... Perhaps it's an accent, but I didn't quite get that line. The Fiend Roar Deitys? Pity they lost, I was always interested in them... ...But hey, the preferred CHARACTER of mine won at least. ...The Gravekeepers are getting involved? The problems just get bigger and bigger, don't they? Anyway, looking good! |
