MARVEL BATTLEFIELD (CHAPTER III)

[Mad Hopz]

Basically, this is probably a lot like MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE except with some of my own twists and turns added. We've got the usual superheroes and villians like Doom, Spidey, Wolverine and Venom and some not-as-well-known ones like Omega Red and Crimson Dynamo. Anyway, here's PART I, tell me what you think, I'll be making more.

MARVEL BATTLEFIELD CHAPTER I (Click to View)

Spider-Man swings swiftly through the city, somersaulting and flipping across the concrete jungle below. He flicks a piece of webbing and flips over a large dome when suddenly, he notices a commotion below.

Spider-Man: You can’t just ever have peace in this city, can you?

A car explodes below and screaming is heard. Smoke pours out from the explosion and Spider-Man swings down quickly, flipping to the ledge of a nearby building. Rhino bursts from a hole in a wall, glaring around, snorting.

Spider-Man: Hey, Rhino! Is that a pencil on your head or are you just happy to –

Rhino: SPIDER-MAN! I knew if I hung around here long enough, you were bound to show up!

Spider-Man: Actually, man, I was just on my way to find a good hot dog stand.

Rhino: Enough of your talk, web-head!

Rhino roars and tears across the road, trampling several cars and ramming right into the building upon which Spider-Man is perched. He punches a hole through the wall and it collapse. Spider-Man flips off nimbly and lands on his feet.

Spider-Man: Careful, big man, if you’re not careful, you might get a concussion.

The Rhino roars again and charges towards Spider-Man, Spider-Man sighs and simply flips over the charging Rhino’s back. However, he notices a black, slime-like substance on Rhino’s back.

Spider-Man: Whoa, been hitting the tar pits lately –

Suddenly, the slime materializes, forming the ghastly face of Venom. The freakish tongue snakes out, followed by the teeth and the entire body of Venom suddenly leaps off of Rhino’s back, diving towards Spider-Man.

Spider-Man just manages to twist in mid-air with a gasp and avoid Venom’s outstretched claws. However, Venom manages to claw a piece of Spider-Man’s arm, tearing his costume and drawing blood.

Spider-Man flips onto a wall, sticking onto its brick surface with his feet while Venom finishes materializing, tentacles wrapping themselves around his body. Spider-Man reacts quickly, completely serious now and flings himself off the wall, attempting to deliver a devastating kick to Venom.

However, Venom simply grabs Spidey’s foot with his hand and flings him into a wall, smashing the brick surface. Meanwhile, Rhino recovers and seeing the stunned Spider-Man, begins to move towards him. Venom stops him with a gesture.

Rhino: But he’s just laying there, we can kill him!

Venom: That’s not what we came here to do. We completed our objective; now let’s get out of here before anybody else gets here.

Rhino grunts a reluctant agreement and they begin to sprint down the road, Rhino’s heavy footfalls shaking the area. Spider-Man shakes his head and stands up shakily looking after the retreating duo.

Spider-Man: Retreating, huh? Guess I’m too strong for you!

Spider-Man leaps onto the rooftops and begins to swing speedily towards them. However, when he gets nearby, there is BAMF of black smoke and suddenly, Venom and Rhino are gone.

Spider-Man: Whaa - ?

Spider-Man lands on the street, looking around, still in a fighting pose. He turns around and is startled by Wolverine, who is right in his face.

Spider-Man: AAH!

He shoots a ball of webbing right into Wolverine’s face. Wolverine grunts and tears it off.

Wolverine: Good to see you too, kid.

Spider-Man: Logan? Why are you here?

Wolverine: Some punks kidnapped Nightcrawler, Xavier tracked him down to here.

Meanwhile, Venom and Rhino appear in a large chamber, accompanied with a BAMF of smoke. Nightcrawler is strapped to a machine next to them, hardly conscious. He murmurs slightly and his tail flicks. He raises his head, straight into Doctor Doom’s fist.

With a grunt, Nightcrawler falls back into unconsciousness. Doom looks at him with disgust and turns towards Rhino and Venom.

Doctor Doom: I take it that the machine worked well?

Venom: He got us in and out without a word.

Doctor Doom: Did you get what I asked?

Venom: Yes.

From somewhere inside his blackened depths, a tentacle divulges a test tube, holding the piece of flesh and blood that Venom had ripped from Spider-Man’s arm.

Doctor Doom: This is good. Very good.

A plastic king is knocked over by a finger. Magneto, sitting within the confines of his plastic chamber, leans back and stretches. Suddenly, he hears a commotion outside. The sounds of fighting are clearly heard and then the catwalk to his chamber extends. The door is busted down and Juggernaut stands in the opening. An armed guard walks calmly down the walkway, changing shape into Mystique quickly.

Magneto: I thought you’d never come.

Mystique hands Magneto his helmet and cape. Swathing the cape around his body and placing the helmet on his head, Magneto walks down the plastic walkway.

Magneto: How did you get past all the security?

Mystique: That would be Forge. He’s somewhere outside the building, using some electromagnetic thing to turn off all the cells’ electricity. I’m sure Captain America and his crew are busy dealing with the hundreds of super-powered criminals he’s set loose.

Magneto steps through the hole in the wall created by Juggernaut and surveys the scene. He breathes in deeply.

Magneto: It’s been too long since I’ve felt metal around me.

With a flick of his hand, Magneto creates a hole in the ceiling, which widens rapidly. He floats quickly to the ceiling of the complex, looking around at New York City. He breathes in deeply and raises his hands. Metal scaffoldings rip off from nearby buildings and gather around him, creating a ring of death.

He spins and aims it towards the heart of the city, prepared to deliver death to hundreds of thousands of people with a single strike. However, just as Magneto is about to deliver a death strike to New York, he hears a faint whistling noise.

Magneto turns just in time to rise up a small metal shield to block the speeding shield of Captain America. With a KLANG, the shield rebounds and Captain America swiftly picks it out of mid-air.

Captain America: Give it up Magneto; you’ve got nowhere to go.

Thor swoops in behind Magneto, brandishing his hammer threateningly. Iron Man blasts in to Magneto’s left, floating gingerly in midair via his rockets. Meanwhile, Hawkeye is perched on top of a nearby tower, arrows at the ready.

Magneto: Really? And you’re going to take me in? I hope you’re joking. Armor made from metal tends to be rather vulnerable to masters of magnetism, wouldn’t you agree.

Captain America: Tony - !

Before Captain American can say another word, Magneto clenches his fist and Iron Man’s suit crumples like a tin can. Then, with a flick of his wrist, Magneto sends the crumpled suit straight towards the tower where Hawkeye stands, knocking it off its foundations.

Captain American acts swiftly, throwing his shield with deathly accuracy towards Magneto’s head.

Magneto: Stupid man! Your metal shield is nothing to me!

Magneto quickly extends his arms, redirecting the shield straight into Thor’s gut, knocking the God of Thunder out of the sky. Magneto turns to find Captain America directly in front of him, aiming an elbow at his chin. With a sickening CRUNCH, Magneto falls to the ground. Captain America breathes deeply.

Captain America: We got him.

Meanwhile, Magneto sweeps into the chamber where Doctor Doom awaits him, without his cape or helmet.

Doctor Doom: I was beginning to think you weren’t going to make it.

Magneto: There are many things you can accuse me of, Doctor Doom but never, ever insult my honor. I am NEVER late.

Doctor Doom: Venom and Rhino completed their mission. My scientists have begun the construction. However, we require samples from several more people…

“Magneto” sits again inside the plastic chamber, calmly twiddling his fingers. There is a slight whooshing sound as the door opens and Nick Fury steps into the room. He strides across the room and sits across from Magneto.

Nick Fury: Where are your friends, Magneto?

Magneto: Long gone, I expect.

Nick Fury: Don’t play dumb. They wouldn’t have just left you here.

Magneto: It IS hard to find good henchmen these days.

Nick Fury: Alright, fine, if that’s how you want to play the game… Just remember, we’ve this place on security so tight that not even a cockroach could get in here without us knowing. Don’t try anything, understand?

Nick Fury stands up and begins to leave the room. Magneto smiles and a strange yellowish tint crosses his eyes.

Magneto: Indeed, Fury, indeed.

MARVEL BATTLEFIELD CHAPTER II (Click to View)

The sun sets slowly over the X-Mansion as a lonely motorcycle pulls into the garage. Wolverine walks into the mansion, looking slightly disappointed. Professor Xavier waits for him at the top of the stairs.

Professor Xavier: You did not find Kurt then?

Wolverine: There was no scent, nothing.

A slight pause as Wolverine walks into the kitchen, snapping open a beer. He pauses, sniffing the air. Suddenly, Xavier is weary too. A CRACK is heard as a device hits the window, a flashing light followed by a beeping noise begins.

Wolverine: GET DOWN!

An EXPLOSION rocks the room as the window blasts open, Wolverine lunges and tackles Xavier to the ground before the force of the explosion can hit either of them. The smoke clears and Wolverine growls, unsheathing his claws with a SNIKT!

Quicksilver suddenly tears into the room, delivering a swift punch to Wolverine’s jaw. Wolverine shakes it off and Quicksilver quickly delivers several more punches, too fast for the human eye to see. Wolverine lunges with his claws but Quicksilver leans out of their way.

Wolverine: Still running away, huh Petey?

Quicksilver: I’m not –

Wolverine takes advantage of Quicksilver’s momentary pause to deliver a crushing kick to his kneecap. There is a sickening CRUNCH as Quicksilver’s knee bends back and he falls to the floor.

Wolverine: And still an idiot…

Wolverine leaps on top of Quicksilver, ready to strike when suddenly, a pair of ropes appears around his arms, binding him to the wall. Scarlet Witch floats into the room, an aura of red light around her.

Wolverine: Both of you guys, huh? What’s this, some kind of reunion?

Scarlet Witch: Oh, don’t worry, Logan, we’re not here to kill anyone –

Wolverine: Oh, shut up.

Wolverine twists and manages to stretch his claws around the ropes and rip them apart. With a roar, he lunges at Scarlet Witch, claws pointed towards her throat. Suddenly, Wolverine is frozen in midair. He quivers, looking clueless until Magneto floats calmly into the room and thrusts out his hand, sending Wolverine crashing into a wall.

Magneto: You stupid, stupid man…

Quicksilver: ENOUGH.

Magneto turns in surprise to see Quicksilver glaring at him. Suddenly realizations hits him and he turns to see Professor Xavier leaning against the wall, staring at Magneto.

Magneto: Ah, Charles… Skilled though you may be, you were always a fool.

Magneto raises his hand and the remnants of Xavier’s wheelchair wrap around him, tying him up. Then Magneto smashes Xavier into a wall, and Quicksilver awakens, shaking his head as though from a dream.

Magneto: Let’s go.

Magneto floats away, quickly accompanied by Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. A few moments after their departure, panting and heavy footsteps are heard. Cyclops rushes into the room, bloody and bruised.

Quickly assessing the situation, he runs towards Professor Xavier and helps him up. Xavier gasps in pain and looks at Cyclops, who seems breathless and afraid.

Cyclops: Professor, professor. They took her.

Professor Xavier: No.

Cyclops: Yes, yes, they took Jean…

Meanwhile, snow blisters down in a high-security facility in Greenland. Two guards stand outside a large metal door. Faintly, two shapes are seen moving towards them. The guards look towards them wearily, raising their weapons.

Multiple Man stands next to Mastermind, who wears a heavy coat. Multiple Man shivers from the snow and cold while Mastermind smirks at him. Annoyed, Multiple Man speaks.

Multiple Man: Hey shut up, alright?

Mastermind: Did you take care of those guards yet?

Multiple Man: I’m working on it.

The guards stare at the approaching figures, weapons at the ready. Suddenly, two copies of Multiple Man drop down behind them softly. Without a word, they snap the soldiers’ necks.

Inside the building, several other soldiers are inside unaware of what has happened. So when the massive door slides open, they are caught completely caught off guard by the horde of demonic monsters that pounce in from outside, screaming and roaring.

Instead of fighting back, the soldiers turn tail and run the opposite way, straight into a squad of Multiple Man clones, armed with automatic rifles. The soldiers are gunned down quickly and Multiple Man and Mastermind continue into the building.

Multiple Man: That was pretty convincing.

Mastermind: Aren’t I always?

Elsewhere, the screams of soldiers and gunfire are heard as Multiple Man’s miniature army proceeds through the building, killing all opposition.

Mastermind: How many of those things can you make?

Multiple Man: Around fifty before I start to get some major déjà-vu. After making seventy of them, it took me a while just to write my name again. What about you? Is it true you fed Captain America and his crew an illusion that they already had you when you already escaped?

Mastermind: I was halfway to Florida in a Greyhound bus before they even realized I wasn’t there.

Multiple Man: Ah, here we are, Cell Number 329.

Multiple Man takes out an access card taken from a guard and slides it on the slot outside the door. The door slides open and Sabretooth looks up from where he sits.

Sabretooth: I thought you’d never show up.

A few minutes later, Sabretooth is free, as well as the residents of several other cells. Multiple Man holds a clipboard in his hand. He looks at the next number.

Multiple Man: This one looks interesting: Extreme healing factor, telepathic and telekinetic abilities as well a genius-level intellect.

Sabretooth: Open it up.

Multiple Man slides the door open and they all look into the eyes of a pale-faced man, a red diamond resting in the center of his forehead. His long black hair hangs messily down his neck and he looks rather amused by his rescuers.

Sabretooth: What do they call you?

Sinister: Sinister…

MARVEL BATTLEFIELD CHAPTER III (Click to View)

Jean moans and opens her eyes. Wearily, she looks around. Her hands and feet are strapped to some weird device and there is a metal band around her head. She looks to her left to see Nightcrawler in a similar device.

Jean Grey: Kurt!

Nightcrawler turns his head and smiles weakly at her.

Nightcrawler: Ah, Jean. It would be nice to see you if we were under different circumstances.

Jean Grey: I can’t use my powers!

Nightcrawler: That would be the inhibitor on your head, I have one too. It blocks our powers.

Suddenly, a door slides open and Doctor Doom steps into the room, followed by a group of scientists. He smiles grimly when he sees them awake.

Doctor Doom: Finally awake, are we? Well, that is good. This will make your suffering infinitely more enjoyable. My new friend Sinister has informed that he a geneticist of great merit and would be delighted to utilize your unique abilities to our advantage.

Jean Grey: What do you plan on doing with us?

Doctor Doom: You don’t need to worry about that…

Sinister walks into the room, an evil grin on his face. He walks over to a console and taps a few buttons. The devices that Jean and Nightcrawler are strapped to, fall over, leaving them on their backs. Sinister walks over, a scalpel in his hand.

Fury storms into the plastic chamber, furious. He walks over to Magneto sitting in front of a table, and slams his fist on the table, holding a gun to Magneto’s head.

Nick Fury: Somebody better do some explaining around here or thing’s aren’t going to be pretty.

Magneto: What are you talking about, General Fury?

Nick Fury: What am I talking about? I just get off the phone with Xavier and apparently, you were just at the X-Mansion. Are you going to explain to me how that’s possible or am I going to have to get some psychics in here?

Magneto: There’s a very reasonable explanation for that, General, and here it is…

Magneto morphs into Mystique while Fury gasps in surprise. Taking advantage of Fury’s surprise, Mystique leaps onto the table before delivering kick to Fury’s jaw. She grabs Fury’s gun and sprints out the door. Fury spits out a tooth before lifting his radio.

Nick Fury: Fury to all points: MYSTIQUE WAS IMPERSONATING MAGNETO, SHE COULD BE ANYONE! REPEAT: MYSTIQUE COULD BE ANYONE!

Hawkeye lifts up his bow and arrows and turns to rush out the door but before he can leave, Captain America rushes into the room and stops him.

Hawkeye: Cap, what -

But before Hawkeye can say another word, “Captain America” delivers a crushing punch to Hawkeye’s jaw, followed by a kick to the gut that leaves Hawkeye writhing on the floor.

Mystique turns to run but is floored by the real Captain America’s shield. Cap runs into the room, delivering a swift kick to Mystique to keep her down. He pins her to the ground using his shield. Mystique smiles grimly.

Captain America: What’s so funny?

Mystique: I’m just imagining what my buddies are gonna do to you when they find you.

Captain America: Wha - ?

Suddenly, there is a loud creaking noise as the roof of the room is ripped off. Magneto floats in the air above it as Sabretooth leaps into the room, pouncing on Captain America. With a grunt, Cap kicks Sabretooth off by rolling through, but Sabretooth simply rebounds off the wall.

With a roar, Sabretooth leaps on Cap again, slashing and tearing with his teeth and claws. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, there is a blast of light and Sabretooth is blown off Cap by a blast from Iron Man.

Meanwhile, seeing Iron Man below, Magneto smirks and clenches his fist. However, his smirk disappears when nothing happens. Iron Man looks up at Magneto.

Iron Man: Too bad, Magneto. After our last encounter, I redesigned the armor to be resistant to your abilities. So, now it’s even.

Iron Man jets up to Magneto and sends a burst of energy towards him, but Magneto raises his hand to use a piece of steel to block the attack. But when he lowers the shield, Iron Man blasts towards him, knocking the wind out of him with rocket-powered fists.

Magneto crashes into water below but quickly resurfaces, flinging shards of sharp steel at Iron Man. Iron Man blasts out of their way, but Magneto simply flicks his hand and the shards redirect themselves.

Iron Man then just raises his hand and blasts the tiny shards of metal using blasts from his hand. He turns to see Magneto rise up behind him, using a large piece of steel to wrap around him. Magneto then clenches his fist and the piece of metal around Iron Man begins to squeeze, crushing him.

Iron Man gasps and wheezes and attempts to escape but to no avail. Magneto grins evilly as he tightens the pressure. Suddenly, a drop of rain falls on Magneto’s helmet, making a dull THUNK. Magneto looks up in surprise as a barrage of rain clouds form overhead, pouring tons of gallons of water upon them.

Magneto: What is –

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning streaks down from the sky and strikes Magneto head-on. There is a sick sizzling sound as Magneto’s flesh burns. He falls down to the ground, as Thor swoops in, catching the defeated Iron Man.

Thor: I am sorry, my friend for being late. I was somewhat delayed.

Thor looks back to see a defeated Juggernaut lying on the ceiling of the building, smoke pouring from the edges of the crater in which he lays. Meanwhile, Magneto plunges downwards, towards the water. But just before he hits the water, a ring of red light surrounds him and Scarlet Witch telepathically pulls him up.

She flies away, carrying Magneto and Mystique with scarlet force fields. Thor looks on, smiling despite himself. He floats down to the ground, giving Iron Man to the medics. Fury walks towards him.

Nick Fury: Well, it looks like Magneto’s little rescue party got more than they asked for didn’t they? Sure, Mystique got away, but now we’ve got two additional prisoners; this Sabretooth fellow and that giant, Juggernaut they’re locking away. It seems we win this time, huh?

Thor grins as well, seeing Hawkeye groaning as some medics inspect his jaw. Suddenly, something strikes Thor as odd and he looks around anxiously.

Nick Fury: What’s wrong?

Thor: Where’s Steve? Where’s Captain America?

Captain America moans and opens his eyes. Startled by what he sees before him, he instinctively whips backward but is restrained by a device around his neck and body. Sinister steps forward, his black eyes cold and calculating. To the left, Nightcrawler and Jean lay on separate metallic tables, a group of surgeons crowding around each of them.

Sinister: Ah, Captain America, you’re finally awake… I always enjoy live victims to play around with rather than the usual not-so-alive ones, if you catch my drift…

Captain America: Where am I?

Sinister: You, Steve Rogers, are in Hell.

Seriously, I'm a huge Marvel fan, so this is epic for me! It's kinda like the game Marvel: Ultimate Alliance!

The guards stare at the approaching figures, weapons at the ready. Suddenly, two copies of Multiple Man drop down behind them softly. Without a word, they snap the soldiers’ necks.

Inside the building, several other soldiers are inside unaware of what has happened. So when the massive door slides open, they are caught completely caught off guard by the horde of demonic monsters that pounce in from outside, screaming and roaring.

Instead of fighting back, the soldiers turn tail and run the opposite way, straight into a squad of Multiple Man clones, armed with automatic rifles. The soldiers are gunned down quickly and Multiple Man and Mastermind continue into the building.

Multiple Man: That was pretty convincing.

Mastermind: Aren’t I always?

Elsewhere, the screams of soldiers and gunfire are heard as Multiple Man’s miniature army proceeds through the building, killing all opposition.

Mastermind: How many of those things can you make?

Multiple Man: Around fifty before I start to get some major déjà-vu. After making seventy of them, it took me a while just to write my name again. What about you? Is it true you fed Captain America and his crew an illusion that they already had you when you already escaped?

Mastermind: I was halfway to Florida in a Greyhound bus before they even realized I wasn’t there.

Multiple Man: Ah, here we are, Cell Number 329.

Multiple Man takes out an access card taken from a guard and slides it on the slot outside the door. The door slides open and Sabretooth looks up from where he sits.

Sabretooth: I thought you’d never show up.

A few minutes later, Sabretooth is free, as well as the residents of several other cells. Multiple Man holds a clipboard in his hand. He looks at the next number.

Multiple Man: This one looks interesting: Extreme healing factor, telepathic and telekinetic abilities as well a genius-level intellect.

Sabretooth: Open it up.

Multiple Man slides the door open and they all look into the eyes of a pale-faced man, a red diamond resting in the center of his forehead. His long black hair hangs messily down his neck and he looks rather amused by his rescuers.

Sabretooth: What do they call you?

Sinister: Sinister…

so far i only read the first one, i think its very good but into the middle it gets tiring, the only thing that kept me reading is trying to find out wat character is coming up next so............i think leter on in the fic i will stop reading it =(, but overall 7.5/10

MARVEL BATTLEFIELD CHAPTER III (Click to View)

Jean moans and opens her eyes. Wearily, she looks around. Her hands and feet are strapped to some weird device and there is a metal band around her head. She looks to her left to see Nightcrawler in a similar device.

Jean Grey: Kurt!

Nightcrawler turns his head and smiles weakly at her.

Nightcrawler: Ah, Jean. It would be nice to see you if we were under different circumstances.

Jean Grey: I can’t use my powers!

Nightcrawler: That would be the inhibitor on your head, I have one too. It blocks our powers.

Suddenly, a door slides open and Doctor Doom steps into the room, followed by a group of scientists. He smiles grimly when he sees them awake.

Doctor Doom: Finally awake, are we? Well, that is good. This will make your suffering infinitely more enjoyable. My new friend Sinister has informed that he a geneticist of great merit and would be delighted to utilize your unique abilities to our advantage.

Jean Grey: What do you plan on doing with us?

Doctor Doom: You don’t need to worry about that…

Sinister walks into the room, an evil grin on his face. He walks over to a console and taps a few buttons. The devices that Jean and Nightcrawler are strapped to, fall over, leaving them on their backs. Sinister walks over, a scalpel in his hand.

Fury storms into the plastic chamber, furious. He walks over to Magneto sitting in front of a table, and slams his fist on the table, holding a gun to Magneto’s head.

Nick Fury: Somebody better do some explaining around here or thing’s aren’t going to be pretty.

Magneto: What are you talking about, General Fury?

Nick Fury: What am I talking about? I just get off the phone with Xavier and apparently, you were just at the X-Mansion. Are you going to explain to me how that’s possible or am I going to have to get some psychics in here?

Magneto: There’s a very reasonable explanation for that, General, and here it is…

Magneto morphs into Mystique while Fury gasps in surprise. Taking advantage of Fury’s surprise, Mystique leaps onto the table before delivering kick to Fury’s jaw. She grabs Fury’s gun and sprints out the door. Fury spits out a tooth before lifting his radio.

Nick Fury: Fury to all points: MYSTIQUE WAS IMPERSONATING MAGNETO, SHE COULD BE ANYONE! REPEAT: MYSTIQUE COULD BE ANYONE!

Hawkeye lifts up his bow and arrows and turns to rush out the door but before he can leave, Captain America rushes into the room and stops him.

Hawkeye: Cap, what -

But before Hawkeye can say another word, “Captain America” delivers a crushing punch to Hawkeye’s jaw, followed by a kick to the gut that leaves Hawkeye writhing on the floor.

Mystique turns to run but is floored by the real Captain America’s shield. Cap runs into the room, delivering a swift kick to Mystique to keep her down. He pins her to the ground using his shield. Mystique smiles grimly.

Captain America: What’s so funny?

Mystique: I’m just imagining what my buddies are gonna do to you when they find you.

Captain America: Wha - ?

Suddenly, there is a loud creaking noise as the roof of the room is ripped off. Magneto floats in the air above it as Sabretooth leaps into the room, pouncing on Captain America. With a grunt, Cap kicks Sabretooth off by rolling through, but Sabretooth simply rebounds off the wall.

With a roar, Sabretooth leaps on Cap again, slashing and tearing with his teeth and claws. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, there is a blast of light and Sabretooth is blown off Cap by a blast from Iron Man.

Meanwhile, seeing Iron Man below, Magneto smirks and clenches his fist. However, his smirk disappears when nothing happens. Iron Man looks up at Magneto.

Iron Man: Too bad, Magneto. After our last encounter, I redesigned the armor to be resistant to your abilities. So, now it’s even.

Iron Man jets up to Magneto and sends a burst of energy towards him, but Magneto raises his hand to use a piece of steel to block the attack. But when he lowers the shield, Iron Man blasts towards him, knocking the wind out of him with rocket-powered fists.

Magneto crashes into water below but quickly resurfaces, flinging shards of sharp steel at Iron Man. Iron Man blasts out of their way, but Magneto simply flicks his hand and the shards redirect themselves.

Iron Man then just raises his hand and blasts the tiny shards of metal using blasts from his hand. He turns to see Magneto rise up behind him, using a large piece of steel to wrap around him. Magneto then clenches his fist and the piece of metal around Iron Man begins to squeeze, crushing him.

Iron Man gasps and wheezes and attempts to escape but to no avail. Magneto grins evilly as he tightens the pressure. Suddenly, a drop of rain falls on Magneto’s helmet, making a dull THUNK. Magneto looks up in surprise as a barrage of rain clouds form overhead, pouring tons of gallons of water upon them.

Magneto: What is –

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning streaks down from the sky and strikes Magneto head-on. There is a sick sizzling sound as Magneto’s flesh burns. He falls down to the ground, as Thor swoops in, catching the defeated Iron Man.

Thor: I am sorry, my friend for being late. I was somewhat delayed.

Thor looks back to see a defeated Juggernaut lying on the ceiling of the building, smoke pouring from the edges of the crater in which he lays. Meanwhile, Magneto plunges downwards, towards the water. But just before he hits the water, a ring of red light surrounds him and Scarlet Witch telepathically pulls him up.

She flies away, carrying Magneto and Mystique with scarlet force fields. Thor looks on, smiling despite himself. He floats down to the ground, giving Iron Man to the medics. Fury walks towards him.

Nick Fury: Well, it looks like Magneto’s little rescue party got more than they asked for didn’t they? Sure, Mystique got away, but now we’ve got two additional prisoners; this Sabretooth fellow and that giant, Juggernaut they’re locking away. It seems we win this time, huh?

Thor grins as well, seeing Hawkeye groaning as some medics inspect his jaw. Suddenly, something strikes Thor as odd and he looks around anxiously.

Nick Fury: What’s wrong?

Thor: Where’s Steve? Where’s Captain America?

Captain America moans and opens his eyes. Startled by what he sees before him, he instinctively whips backward but is restrained by a device around his neck and body. Sinister steps forward, his black eyes cold and calculating. To the left, Nightcrawler and Jean lay on separate metallic tables, a group of surgeons crowding around each of them.

Sinister: Ah, Captain America, you’re finally awake… I always enjoy live victims to play around with rather than the usual not-so-alive ones, if you catch my drift…

Captain America: Where am I?

Sinister: You, Steve Rogers, are in Hell.
