Guidelines to Making Good Movie Topics

Ok. We are trying to make this forum quite popular and organized. To do this, I created a guideline inspired by .Traveler.

Ok, here we go.

Guideline:
-Movie Poster
(obtainable through photobucket or google search)
-Actors
(Obtainable through Wikipedia)
-Directors
(Obtainable through Wikipedia)
-Producers
(Obtainable through Wikipedia)
-Background Information
(Either a hand-written one from you or a wikipedia quote)
-Review
(Optional)
-Conversation Starters
(Easy, just say what you like/don't like about the movie and relate to it)

::How To Properly Create a Movie/TV Show Discussion Thread::

I thought it would be better to create a more extensive tutorial, on how to properly create a discussion thread for a movie, here in this section of the Multi-Media Board. You can follow these steps if you would like, or copy/paste the code at the end of this tutorial and simply edit the details in.

Step One - The Name (Click to View)

When making a discussion, it's obvious you want to choose the right name for the title of the thread so as to draw readers in. The best way, and I want to put an emphasis on Best, to name your topic is to simply use the name of the Movie/TV Show. Don't use any extra characters like '?' or '!' it's really annoying and makes you look unprofessional. Try & capitalize the first letters of every word, but don't do that in the content of your discussion, only do it to the name of the Movie. Inside the thread, make sure the name of the movie/tv show is in the largest font and bolded, to clearly show the topic at hand.

Step Two - Film Poster (Click to View)

The best way to remind someone what the film may be about, because they don't remember which film it is, is by providing the Poster for the movie. Even then, having the image right there makes the thread look more professional.

Step Three - Movie Details (Click to View)

To give readers a better understanding of the film, it is nice to include some details about the movie. This can easily be found on Wikipedia or Yahoo Movie Profiles. Let's use the movie 'Up' for example. If you search for the movie 'Up' on Yahoo, on its main page you will find all of the main details there. Link to Movie Details for Up. You can simply copy/paste, just include where you got your resources.

Step Four - More Images (Click to View)

It's not necessary but makes your thread look a lot better. Include a spoiler, and post some more movie stills which can also be found at Yahoo.
Another example for the movie 'Up'.

Step Five - Cast and Credits (Click to View)

Next thing you might want to add are a list of the actors. You can do this, and make it look good, by putting it in a quote. Under the list of the Actors, put a spoiler, maybe adding the rest of the crew. Again, this information can be simply copy/pasted from Yahoo. Cast & Credits example for the movie 'Up'.

Step Six - Trailers & Videos (Click to View)

This is probably the most important and probably the most wanted description a viewer will be looking for. I suggest looking for videos to link members to for more information on the said movie. Again, I suggest yahoo for videos and trailers. Here you can find a wide selection of trailers and videos for the movie 'Up', 18 of them in fact.

Step Seven - Opening Up Discussions (Click to View)

You don't really want to create a thread about a movie without starting a discussion right? How about listing some discussion starters to get people talking about the film. Use the List BB Code to list some possible discussion starters.

Taking these step are not necessarily needed, but it makes this section look more professional. Remember to credit your sources.

Do I have to??? D: I highly doubt all this info will be critical to the discussion, even though I love trivia. Plus, how do you have the producers on there but no writers? Srsly, just my opinion, this is unnecessary effort when most of your responses will be "its good" or "its funny" "I like Megan Fox"
