I was thinking about that too, at the begining, but then there's 1 important point. Nothing else in the rules is supposed to change. Just Life Points... how would just the cards alone handle this?

Okay, no, not really, but, many OTKs are no longer OTKs. Duels would probably last longer. That's one of the few changes that would happen as a result of this rule change.
Oh yeah, and Final Countdown could actually be a usable deck type.
