Verðandi Cards (Norse Goddess of Time) Updated 7/16/2009
I'm quite sure I got the wording wrong for today's standards.

Move this to Pop Culture if it doesn't belong here, although I have seen other anime-related images in this section.

Obviously based on Ah! My Goddess. These are different versions than the ones posted in my Pop Culture Thread.

And yes, while the ð worked in the titles (somehow), it doesn't work in the body. So the text version is anglicized. Treat both "Verðandi" and "Verdandi" as the same.

Effect: During the End Phase of the turn which this monster was attacked, you may pay 1000 Life Points and remove this card from play to Special Summon 'Verdandi Unlocked' from your Hand or Graveyard. This effect cannot be activated from the Deck.
Errata/Notes: This effect activates from anywhere, except if it was already removed from play (as it's effect requires it to be removed from play as part of it's cost) or the Deck (as it specifically states it cannot).

Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of 'Verdandi, Goddess of the Present'. Both players gain 500 Life Points during your Standby Phase. Increase the Level(s) of Fiend-Type monsters in both player's hands by one.
Errata/Notes: Only affects Fiends in the hand, requiring that a player Tribute one monster for a four star and two monsters for a six star. Once on the field, they go back to normal.

Effect: Equip only to a monster with "Verdandi" in it's name. Decrease the equipped monster's ATK by 900. The Equipped monster can attack twice during the same Battle Phase. Whenever the equipped monster attacks, the controller of this card gains 400 Life Points. Once per turn, if the equipped monster would be destroyed by battle, it is not destroyed. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) Remove this card from play after the third Standby Phase after activation.
Errata/Notes: Balanced somewhat with the lowering of attack power and the destruction timer. This leaves Verdandi Unlocked with 2400 ATK, but turns her into a wall that can heal and take out smaller monsters. And while it's not obvious, you can attach it to the 1400ATK card to receive a multitude of boosts, one of which is actually keeping the card on the field.

beautiful pics, well done effects. I personally still feel Verdandi's atk is too high, but whatever

9.5/10

I felt it justified due to the mid-difficulty of bringing her out in the first place. Not only does she require that a certain card be attacked (but not bounced out of play or to the deck in the process!), 1000 life points, AND having to be in certain locations to be summoned...

Her effects go both ways, for better or for worse.

figures. It's a double edged sword, and that's why I didn't take off too much

Yeah. I can see more combos against her than for her, and a good amount of real cards can and will counter her easily. Damage decks in particular might counter her without even trying to.

And she's able to be bounced out, where it'd be hard to summon her again unless you were carrying copies of the lesser card.

Hmmmm. Impressive. I love the cards. Got to say, you have talent. I see that you really know what your talking about. 9/10. I saw an error on the Spell Card.
"Decrease the ATK of the equipped monster by 900. The equipped monster can attack twice during the Battle Phase. When a monster equipped with this card declares an attack, increase your Life points by 400...."
I think that sounds better, but other than that, quite nice my friend.

Fixed, although I don't like the tiny-text T_T

Whoops, I'll reup the card, ending part of the effect is old.

EDIT: managed to fix that.
