People don't like originality or innovation on this forum. Just look through any one of my realistic threads.

I have nothing against "Vanilla Monsters" but someone needs to make one so I can see what a "good" one looks like.

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets [Part 1 up]
Vanillas are nice cards!

People can't stop moaning about Vanillas: "must have an effect", "useless without an effect", "needs an effect".

Why? Tell me why!
Cards like Opticlops, Dark Blade etc, do they need effects? Of course not! These cards are very usefull in the beginning of a duel, but also during the duel. You can equip them, tribute them, make them powerful!.

But noo....they need an effect because otherwise they are useless. I fully disagree to that. Every set, every Deck needs Vanillas!.

Vanillas are wonderful cards. They must not be messed up with effects.

Even powerful Effect Monsters like BLS - Envoy of the Beginning...one Man-Eater Bug and the Soldier is dead. Or 'Mr. Volcano' with Axe of Despair Razz. Vanillas should be in every Deck, and they are as important as Effect Monster Cards. No Vanillas, no Yugioh.

Ugh, Vailan has spoken.

Part 2 will be about synergy and stuff. Not just how it works.
And I'm not sure, but it's on my to-do-list.

Vanilla is good, but I prefer the taste of chocolate, could you whip up a set of chocolate cards?

I've got proof that you said that. Now you have to make chocolate cards

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets [Part 1 up]
Vanilla is an expression of the plant Vanilla's dew mixed with sweet sugar and alcohol to create a creamy flavor that everyone has to love. Many people have made their own versions of this delicious flavor, thus making it an important basis for food. There is ice cream, and those coffee creams, and there's ice cream, and those cookies from your nearest supermarket, and there's ice cream, and... and... and there's ice cream... And yeah, that's vanilla for you. But my explanation could be completely wrong. If you really want to know what Vanilla is, Google is your answer.

Sorry for going off topic.

Anyway I despise vanillas. But I can completely understand why they are needed in a set. I would never bash on a vanilla unless the vanilla clearly needs a bashing. But vanilla's are hard to work with. If you really want to keep the vanilla on the field so it could be of use, it has no way of protecting itself by itself. You will need another monster's effect or a Spell/Trap. If too many of your cards are vanillas, you are going to start depending on certian cards to make your deck useful. What I really don't like are the vanillas that need tributes to be Normal Summoned. I think you would understand why. I could understand if the vanilla is for a good Union/Fusion, or maybe they have a higher attack/defence than most of my other non vanillas. But I usually try to avoid having to tribute for a vanilla.

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets [Part 1 up]
Vanillas are awesome because sometimes you can use them as one of the following:

1. Support.
2. Distractions?? O.O

What happened to all the good ol vanilla cards we used to know? Like Dark Blade, Opticlops, Gemini Elf, etc?

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets [Part 1 up]
I only liked Dark Blade because I like even numbers...
I especially hated Gemini Elf for that same exact reason, I like even numbers.
But it's very mean to judge based on your likings of even and odd... But what I'm really saying is that not all vanillas are like that. There are vanillas that are just a waste of time and cannot do anything without support.

But could you explain "Support" a little more?

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets [Part 1 up]
Support.

Like Dark Blade is a Warrior-Type. He is "support" for a warrior type deck.

If vanillas have no purpose, then why are they here?
