RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets
Hey, my question, can you put a flavor text on a synchro? I;ve seen synchros with just saying the monsters and nothing else, so why not have a flavor text for the fun of it? Just a thought, thats all.

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets
If you did, it would have to be in Any Other Cards because they aren't done like that on real cards, I believe.

I guess so, only if they were realistic like that, lol. Oh well. He maybe I should make a set of vanillas that aren't supposed to be vanillas, like the ritual cards, synchros, and fusion monsters. That would be cool, or fun atleast and tie them all together somehow. oh well, thanks. Thanks for your help.

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets
Why isn't there any Vanilla type monster in the Vanilla Thread and why is it so full of useless and spamming comments like "GO VANILLA" ? Shocked

Thank you very much. I have always loved vanillas and hopefully more people will realize just how great they are.

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets
I haven't been a member here for too long, but the problem I've seen with custom vanillas is that much of the time, people don't spring for custom artwork.

The Gigobyte series was able to tell a story effectively because, in addition to the flavor text on the Gigobyte cards, Gigobyte's forms appeared on the artwork of a few dozen Monster, Spell, and Trap cards depicting Gigobyte's (and especially Gagagigo's) trials. Without that artwork, the Gigobyte series wouldn't tell much more of a story than, say, Ryu-Kishin > Powered. So, if you have a story-based Vanilla set in mind, it's probably best to contact a friend who can draw your monsters well, or something.

Also, Monsters don't necessarily have to be Vanilla to tell a story. Effect monsters like Marauding Captain and Freed the Matchless General have appeared on their fair share of cards and have stories of their own (although it helps that their stories are both associated with Gigobyte's).

I also have not been on the site for long, but i really enjoy a good story to go along with Yugioh cards. My favorite part of Normal Cards and Set themes is the flavor text and the story. My set's full of them, and it just adds to the fun :]

RE: The Taste of Vanilla: Normal Monster Sets
Problem is, people really *HATE* custom vanilla's.

Btw, Fusion Monsters(Not the Synchro crap) can have flavour text(See Thousand Dragon)

Vinallinas rule! They get way to much criticism I think they are awesome! They need more credit!
