Minimods: Just Report It!

Hello, everyone, and I'm the ever-so-helpful The One. I've been around for a while and seen alot in my days here. The thing that gets on my nerves the most though is Minimods. Minimods are those special (in a derogatory way) members who go around, negging people for spamming, instead of reporting people. First of all, the reputation system is useless. Look at Nazello. He is a fine example of a member with a good reputation with a negative number of Reputation Points. Secondly, the rules say anything that is spam should be reported. Therefore, if you see a minimod, don't let him sit there doing his thing. Instead, report the spam post in question and tell him he shouldn't Minimod.

Honestly general isn't quite the right section to have such rant, my friend.

So I'll move this to comments and suggestions.

But the thing with mini-mods, is their intention is to help out. Repping is pointless and being a mini mod and neg repping spammers just starts neg-wars and most are legitimate.

So yeah, reporting things DOES IN FACT, contrary to popular belief, get things seen at some point in the near future.

And also, some members have permission to go around and act like a mini-mod, but this only happens on certain occasions.

Telling someone not to be a minimod might be spamming in itself.

I just get ticked off when a post is reported, then another person has to post saying it's reported.

I agree with OMGAKITTY. Let them have their wars. Just put up a new rule not to drag Mods into it unless there is rulebreaking occuring.

The thing that makes me laugh about this thread is that I've seen over half the posters minimod before, including myself.

It's just human nature. We believe that because somebody's done something wrong and we've reported them, we have to say, "Ha! You did it wrong! I reported you [so I'm clearly better]!" It's just how people work, in real life as much as forums.

On a note, Arcane is Nazello. As said above, Nazello has negs because he likes them, probably because he started doing noobish things and got negs before changing his ways and knowing he couldn't equalise. What's wrong with that? Nothing tbh.

But everyone mini-mods. It just happens; some people don't even realise they do it. Reporting a thread then quoting the rule it's broken and posting it is somewhat mini-modding.

So yeah, people do it, sadly.
