It had been almost 10 years since "the incident". And the remaining people on Earth had repopulated, nature had taken over earth again and all was beautiful. Jade was part of a new organisation of people, the "UPE" - United People of Earth, or commonly referred to as "Upe" [pronounced "yoop"] this organisation were true social communists, all people were equal, nobody was corrupt. They arrived in ausrtalia 2 years after the incident, and Jade herself founded the UPE. They treated animals as other animals would treat them, they were either prey, or just another animal. They didn't keep pets. They lived off the land, they farmed crops, but not animals. They only killed animals when they needed the protein in their diet. All had put the horrific "incident" out of their minds. In fact some of them cherished it. They had no celebration days, only a day where all quietly reminisced in their own ways about "the incident" - the 31st of October. They wouldn't talk about it but many of them loved the fact "the incident" had happened, for it was that incident, almost 10 years ago, that created this haven for mankind. However, it was nearly the 10th anniversary of the event and Jade had not forgotten the horrors of that night. Soon things would change, the heaven on earth these people lived in would no longer be the same... things were not just about to change, they were about to change for the worse, rapidly.

The Incident happened on the 31st of October 2009. It killed over 6.9 billion people out of the 7 billion on earth. Only a lucky few survived, and the numbers of survivors were only under a thousand. Out of 7 billion people, only 918 remained. The Incident was, in short, a bombing. A vast, worldwide bombing. Not only did people die, but animals, and plants alike. The bombing was not created by any man on earth. So who was it?

The Haven was the on place on earth where the bombs didn't affect anything. It is located in Australia, near the coast. Through this place. 900 survived. The other 18 came from somewhere entirely different. Duel Academy. However Duel Monsters has been long forgotten...

Bio: Joel was one of the 900 Australians who survived, unaffected by the bombing. He was only 16 years old when the incident happened. He lost his parents and brother. When the group was forming he was a bit of an outcast. The group treated him well and gave him a home. But he was too depressed to talk to anybody. He didn't sleep in his allocated home, he slept outside in the wilderness. He hunted his own food and cooked it himself. However when he was 18 years old and Jade and her group of people arrived, the created the UPE, it was only then when Joel became one of the group. He soon was allocated a placement as weapons manufacturer and hunter due to his recently developed skill.

Bio: Since the incident, Jade has worked hard to set up UPE. Although it hasn't been easy resuming full responsibility as well as getting over Poseidon's demise, she has steadily grown in character and, despite almost loosing UPE several times, has kept her feet firmly on the ground. Eventually she managed to set up the haven, yet she has never felt too comfortable, like it is missing something which she can't properly grasp yet.
Appearance: Elbow-length untidy hair, dark brown eyes, still wears the Millennium Necklace and the three pendants DM gave her even though they no longer work. She also keeps the now-slightly scratched DM card hanging on a pendant, even though he no longer appears to her. She has a straw hat with a wide brim on her head and wears suitable farm clothes, as well as using her once-duelling-sleeves as gloves.

Opening post:
Jade fruitlessly tried to whistle a simple tune as she withdrew the half-full pail of milk from underneath the cow. She couldn't whistle, no matter how hard she tried. Sighing, she looked up and saw it was sunny. Not that it mattered; since when did the weather ever affect their lives? She half-meanderingly walked to the next cow and began milking again. The images of the bombing still flashed in her mind ... seeing Poseidon live his final moments in the heart of the radiation, and when her arm slipped out of the shield - she had lost so much feeling then. For a moment she had feared she would be crippled, but amazingly she wasn't ...

The past is the past, she thought to herself. I must be lucky I didnt loose my arm ... still, this isn't such a bad life... She looked down at her arm. Although it couldn't be seen now, her sleeves were covering the scar she had gained from the explosion. It was marked exactly where her arm had been hovering between shield and air. It had no real purpose, it was nothing more than an ugly, despised, unwanted souvenir.

Bio: After the "incident" Kyosuke had his mind wiped as an effect from it, he vaguely remembers it but his mind is still a haze. After he regained his mind he strangely found a love of fish, and pursued a career in fishing, that only falls second to his job as a Council Member.
Appearance: Mousey brown hair that flicks to the right, ocean blue eyes and fairly brown skin. he wears a brown jacket and a ripped blue t-shirt whilst fishing.

Kyosuke sat on a rock just off the coast of the island, he flicked his fishing rod high in the air, as the drops of water from previous attempts to catch a fish, dripped on to his face.

The echo of the sea was the only true "friend" he had. He completely cut his life as a council member off from being a fisherman, although he had a love for the sea his life got quite lonely. This managed to get on his mind at this moment in time, however that was nothing a whistle couldn't help.

The wind started to get stronger, making it harder to whistle a tune. Soon the wind got too much as it began to blow him down the rock...

Bio: Shinji was originally a sergeant from the Japanese army before the incident. He was on his treasured down time from the army and went on vacation in Australia. Fortune favoured him when the conflagaration occured as he was in a basement of the house of a family who let him stay the night. When he emerged, there was nothing left. Following the road, he eventually found a group of people who would form the UPE.
Appearance: Tall, athletic frame. Tanned. Thin brown eyes that seem carefully calculate everyone he meets. He has short and controlled black hair. He wears simple clothing over the protective vest from the army. He also carries a brass plated revolver, the only remaining gunpowder weapon known.

Opening post: Shinji hammered away the hot chunk of metal with his hammer. The clinking of the two hitting eachother made a hypnotising rhythm. Shinji then began to think of what was to be of the tiny community that was UPE. According to his scouts and his own explorations, there wasn't much left of the world outside of the haven. It was all burning wasteland, full of potholes and craters. The only thing in the wasteland worth anything were chunks of mysterious metal, apparently from the bombs that destroyed the world. These were a source of essential metal, which he now worked with.

"Shinji! Jack wants to see you! It's about his exploration!" called out one of his neighbors. Shinji was snapped out of his trance, put down his hammer and submerged the metal spearhead into the tub of water next to the anvil. He wiped his hands and walked over to where Jack stood, carrying a sack.
"What do you have to report?" asked Shinji with a slightly annoyed voice.
"Sir, I've found a house that survived the...incident. There wasn't any food, but I found some of these!" Jack replied, showing Shinji the contents of the sack. It was full of metal cutlery and knives.
"Excellent! I'll be sure to get you extra rations tonight!" Shinji thanked, taking the sack.

Jack departed to return to his house, leaving Shinji alone. The sun was setting. He decided to call it a night and returned to his house. Lying on his bed, he let the thoughts of the world before the incident slowly bring him to sleep.

Bio: He graduated from Harvard Medical School 2 years before "The Incident" took place. He left his college dorm the day before, but when he heard about the mysterious bombing he was able to find shleter and survive. However the bombing affected his health and he nows tends to cough blood every so often. He is unsure of how long he has left to live. He joined the UPE in hopes that they could somehow rebuild the population of earth and get it back to what it once was, even if he may not live long enough to see it.

Appearance: long white medical coat, short sleeve white button up shirt, and long faded black pants, glasses, silver/white hair, hazel eyes, 6ft. 4. inches (carries suit case of medical supplies)

It had been a while since that fateful day. Since everything known to him was lost.....family...friends......he tried not to think too much about it. Dwelling on the past wasn't going to help him get threw this. He looked threw his medical case to see that everything was still in tact. As a doctor he would have to make sure that he was ready for any situation, ready to fix any problem or illness.

Even if he couldn't fix his own.

He quickly took out a white hanckerchief and coughed into it. A think blotch of blood now stained it. He glared at the stain and sighed. He dipped it into a nearby puddle and cleaned it off. "Thirst.....starvation....exaushtion....or my disease....wonder which will claim my life first?" he said laughing darkly to himself. Sick as he was however, he knew he was a vital part in this. He was playing a crutial part in their survival, and if he went down, he might end up taking the rest of them down with him.

His name was Damion, and at the age of 27, he found himself to be amoung the last of the living people of earth.

Matt sat on the roof of his home, watching the sunset. "Its days like this, that I miss the old days." He sighed. He was now 24, but he still missed the Academy he attended when he was younger. So much happened there. Finding out that Poseidon's past and meeting his friends, like Jade and Liang.

Soon, he cellphone rang. He picked it up and said,"Hey, Matt Hawk here." As he heard the voice, a grin appeared on his face. "JADE!!! Is that you??"

Bio: One of the "Lucky 900", he just happened to enter the Haven before the shield went up. He was also lucky because he was on vacation with his family at the time. He had always been the best in his chemistry, biology, and physics classes. He is also an expert with swords and he has a black belt. He is mostly found mixing chemicals.
Appearance: he has brown hair and green eyes. He usually wears a black T-shirt and long, wide jeans. He has glasses and is 6" 7' tall.

Opening post:
Jason was frantically looking for the tube of cyclodium he had in one of the racks. He had to hurry, because the chemicals he had been mixing could ruin any minute if he didn't add the cyclodium and put it on the Bunsen burner. He finally found the tube and added 2 millilitres to the flask. He put the flask on the burner. Letting the flask sit for more than 1 minute would completely ruin the experiment. Once it had been sitting for about 45 seconds, he turned the burner off and used a gas syringe to collect a sample of the vapor. He scanned it, only to find out he had just barely missed his goal of discovering a new element. He sighed, condensed the vapor, and set the flask into a rack. Who knows, he might be able to use it sometime...

Bio:When the incident happened, Josep wasn't sure whether he would live or die, With Xian-li's passing he was left distraught at the thought of being alone, when he heard Jade had founded the yoop(he prefers to announce it that way) he had decided he would live the rest of his life alone, in the now desolate plains of lower India, but after several years he had decided that living alone wasn't the best and around the ninth year he had decided to at least try to live with the others as a farmer, where he could hopefully be useful to them.
Appearance: his hair grew unmanageable after 9 years of exile so he chopped off a large amount and he complains about how it just won't stay like it used too, he hasn't grown much taller but he's proud to say he's at least 5'9 now, while it may be torn up he still keeps his former slifer red jacket as a scarf of sort which he normally wears, the rest of his clothes are some things he managed to take from a wrecked clothing store so they have some tears from the force of the bombs. the only thing he has left from his time at the academy is a special pendant he made by carving his and Xian-li's to connect to one another, she kept the other half but before she died from fallout radiation she made him take it back, while he wears his own he keeps hers tied on to his belt, keeping them separated as a sign of a broken heart.
Opening post: It was just another day, the birds chirped as the sun shone into his makeshift home, he still preferred living away from the others and only went to their main settlement when he was bringing in fresh fruits and vegetables. It had been 1 year today since he had arrived, and he hadn't even gone to say hello to Jade in that whole time."Maybe I should today...I guess that would cheer me up..." he said as he got up and looked outside, where he saw them out the window, the crows."oh hell no! you ain't gettin' my corn! you feathery sons of...." he yelled as he fell out of his rickety bed

Bio: Selene was a rich familys girl, in times before the "Incident". Her famylis somehow know that the bombs will fall down.. Her family and her were located in somkind of "Vital Chambers", wich were located somewhere underground. For some reason, Her familys chambers were defect, so they die. Only Selene survived, and now she is awake again. She cant remember anything, dont even know that it were her parents in the other chamber. She only knows, that she have to get out...

Dont worry Selene, everything is going to be allrigth Her daddy smiles at her, pushing her into the underground shelter. But why do we have to do this? I want to visit grandmother now! You promised it! Daddy wasnt friendly any more, and just pull her more. Selene saw some guys with scientist outfits, wich point at somekind a chambers. Her daddy and her mother head towards those chambers. Just get inside. In a few weeks we will get out again, and we are going to visit grandmother, i swear it!

The dream vanished, and Selene wakes up. At first she just look around verry sleepy. Looks like she was in somekind a capsule. Suddenly she crys out loud when she realized all those tubes, wich were fixed at her arms and feets. She pull them out one by one, ignoring the pain as good as possible. Than she crushes the glass of the capsule... "Where am i...?" She tries to step out of the capsule, but slipps at the ground. It seems her feet wont carry her. (Remember, 10 years!!!) She tries it again, more carefull and helding some parts of that capsule. She trys to make some steps with caution, it works...
She looks around in the room she was. It was a dark, metal covered room. Selene opens a cupboard and put out some clothes. Suddenly she realize som other capsules, next to her. Walking up to them she looks inside. One of them gots crushed, and the other is out of order. Two dead bodys lie inside of them. "im... Im pretty sure i should know them.." she thinks, starts crying. "I dont even know who I am!"
Selene puts herselve together, and look for an Exit. She opens a huge door and gots dazzled by the sunligth. After her eyes adapted the new ligth she watches out in this new world...

Bio:When the incident happened, Josep wasn't sure whether he would live or die, With Xian-li's passing he was left distraught at the thought of being alone, when he heard Jade had founded the yoop(he prefers to announce it that way) he had decided he would live the rest of his life alone, in the now desolate plains of lower India, but after several years he had decided that living alone wasn't the best and around the ninth year he had decided to at least try to live with the others as a farmer, where he could hopefully be useful to them.
Appearance: his hair grew unmanageable after 9 years of exile so he chopped off a large amount and he complains about how it just won't stay like it used too, he hasn't grown much taller but he's proud to say he's at least 5'9 now, while it may be torn up he still keeps his former slifer red jacket as a scarf of sort which he normally wears, the rest of his clothes are some things he managed to take from a wrecked clothing store so they have some tears from the force of the bombs. the only thing he has left from his time at the academy is a special pendant he made by carving his and Xian-li's to connect to one another, she kept the other half but before she died from fallout radiation she made him take it back, while he wears his own he keeps hers tied on to his belt, keeping them separated as a sign of a broken heart.
Opening post: It was just another day, the birds chirped as the sun shone into his makeshift home, he still preferred living away from the others and only went to their main settlement when he was bringing in fresh fruits and vegetables. It had been 1 year today since he had arrived, and he hadn't even gone to say hello to Jade in that whole time."Maybe I should today...I guess that would cheer me up..." he said as he got up and looked outside, where he saw them out the window, the crows."oh hell no! you ain't gettin' my corn! you feathery sons of...." he yelled as he fell out of his rickety bed
