#1 - Introduction:

Since the old thread never has its first post updated, this needs a new thread. Many things from the old thread have been updated or moved to our new website, here: http://www.theCCG.webs.com - Because of this, I have been able to make this thread much shorter and nicer for possible new members to read.

For those who are new to this, welcome to the CCG, or Custom Card Game. This is a large project about making a Yugioh format using only cards made by our members. You can join right in at any time as a player, and even a card creator to have your cards judged and possibly added to the CCG. Remember, this is purely original, so there is no cards from normal Yugioh, and we won't add any cards related to them, such as Elemental Hero cards.

#2 - Getting Started and Playing the CCG:

The first thing you'll need to do is go to our website, http://www.theCCG.webs.com , and follow the instructions in the downloads centre. After this, make a Deck and save it on YVD using our cards. Then, find someone to duel in any way you like, we recommend the IRC channel, and duel using the YVD program.

#3 - How Cards get into the CCG:

For a card to get into the CCG, we currently go through three phases:
Submission:
Firstly, a topic is opened where all members post the cards they want to get into the CCG, following certain criteria, other rules are in the submission thread.
Voting:
A topic is then opened which lists all of the cards that were submitted and everyone votes for the cards they want to see in the CCG, other rules are in the voting thread.
Adding:
Those that make it through the voting phase are changed into YVD format and become part of the latest set, making them an official part of the CCG. As a nice reward, members who get lots of their cards in will get +Reps.

Events

Set #2: The YGO-CCG has entered the Voting Phase of Set #2. This will end on November 12, 2009. After that the Set will be worked on and will will see if anything will be fixed or Changed.

Set #3: I am in charge of posting and working on this Set. There is no Confirmed Date on when this Set will be posted. I am personally guessing around December or January. If you have any suggestions or questions drop me a PM. I will respond to every PM sent about this.

EDIT: OH RIGHT important notice. The member section of the new site is mostly empty. I need everyone in the project to make a post saying exactly what jobs you are willing to do, as noted on the member page.

Just some things:

- what do you mean when you say "this might be the last voting phase we have" ?

- Do we want to include promo card contests, tournaments and the point system?

- Should I post a Thread Discussing OCG errors and the Current Ban List?

- Should I make a Banner for this thread?

- After Set 2 when do you think we will be having Set 3? Could i possibly post it?

1: no, our website has a banlist and individual card discussion in it.

2: you can if you want to. A banner never really came up in discussions, but i think that would be cool.

3: after the voting phase ends, we probably will have like a couple weeks to find card images, convert to yvd format, etc. I don't expect set 3 to come out until maybe december. You can post it, but we will discuss what set 3's categories for submission will be, how many cards in the set and such. Thats something that each of the other sets lacked and i want it to be a decision made by more than just 1 person.


And like i asked, does anyone know how to manually insert images into YVD?

Me and Theepwood have been talking about changing the voting phase to something else. Don't worry, we'll talk about it a lot and make sure it's ok with everyone before we do.

I think tourney's can have their own topics on the site.
I don't think promo cards are that important, so I'm not putting them in the first post, but it's fine for you or someone else to make the booster packs with a promo that people can generally agree on.
The points system was just a way to sort out people getting rep points. I'm still going to give people rep for hard work, and so can everyone else, but we don't need rules on how to do it.

I believe that you need to put it in a very specific folder in the YVD files. I think that it has to be in the image folder and needs to have a folder name with the same name as the card set, so CCG1 or something, and the file's name needs to be the card number that it is the image for.

Ive been trying forever to figure it out. I forgot to name the folder after the set its in. Lol. That wasn't so hard.

I got it to work with just the file's name being the cards name (without spaces and all lower case) , so the card number bit didn't work for me.

Yeah. i knwo quite a few Ideas. thisSet didn't have mcuh support for other Arhctypes and Suhc. i am going to try to work with stuff like that.

Heigh-ho Griffin. I have been interested in this project for quite a while, and I think I have enough free time right now to devote to it. If I'm not supposed to apply here for the CCG, then tell me where to go and I will . But otherwise...

That's exactly what you needed to do, Bringer. The first thing that we'd like to see you do is make some votes in the voting phase, as many as possible, even if none of them seem good or it's a hard choice. The thread is linked to from the home page of http://www.theCCG.webs.com

Awesome! A good few of mine got in. Though i don't think we have a LIGHT LV1 Tuner so PSD is virtually useless.

What'll be the cover card for this set?
