RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
Okay, can I request a rule against FANFICS WITH SCRIPT FORMAT?
It's seriously annoying when reading them.
Also, it goes against the purpose of writing.
RolePlaying, is okay. But FANFICS!?

I was just going to say this. Scripts are for movies and TV. No book is ever written in script format, so why should we accept it? It removes almost all description and intrigue from the story as well.

i tend to agree.. the creative word only spills out when there is more than a few paragraphs of descriptors and all the rest dialogue.. scripts/screenplays are irritating to try and enjoy, since they are supposed to be guidelines for something that we will end up watching in the near future. i would agree with the above posts on this new rule, should it be enacted. I could care less if it happened, however. Wink

RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
I have made a Fan Fic, and it is technically going to be more than one story. These storys are only related in setting and the main character's goal. One Story (The stories go in sequence, so Story 1 is before all other stories, Story 2 is before all other stories except Story 1, etc.) can affect the other, but they all start with seperate prolouges and end with seperate epilouges. Would I have to post these stories seperate, or can they all be in one post?

RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
They would be in one post, because the're more like 'books'.
Well, that's what I think.
And could Dealer Umbra please reply to my/Rinne's/Kale's request for banning script format?

Script Format? Isn't that for television shows and such? Script Format is literature, but it is more of a play then fiction. Unless they want to state that it is Script Format because of the theme...

A rule against Script Format has been added. You are given one week to adjust.

...what?

Really?

People agree with my stance on script format years after my original post on the subject was deleted?

Nice

How much is PG-16 sexual and graphic content? Like what would be the maximum?

RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
TPD: I would say that sex, but not described graphically, could be classified as PG-16. Even so, the PG markings are guidelines if anything: Put the one you think fit, and remember that M-rated stories aren't allowed.

Kale: Yes, you can.

RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
I have a question the "Script Format" rule. As you know, I'm a Screenwriter. So if I wanted to post one of my Screenplays on YCM, where would I be posting it? General?

RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
Wow!
I have a question!

So I could not post a Fanfic where the characters are talking?
Such as:
Goku: Kamehameha!
Gohan: Dad!

RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
That is correct. For example, you cannot do this:

Character A: You realize that makes absolutely no sense, right?
Character B: ¬.¬ Shut up.

The correct way would be the following:

"You realize that makes absolutely no sense, right?" Alice asked.
Bob shot Alice a glare. "Shut up."

RE: YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
Man there is no way my new Fan Fic can be in that format.. It would not make sense at all.
Can the story be narrated by the main character?
