YCM Official - Rules of the Fanfiction Section
Index
To be added
General Rules The fanfiction forum is a part of the Yugioh Card Maker community. Henceforth, all rules specified by the moderators are applied here as well. PG-Marking Not all fanfics are appropriate for all members here on YCM. Therefore, when posting a fanfic aimed at a specific group, put the appropriate tag in the title:
Threads and Fanfics A fanfiction does not need more than one thread. There's no need to clutter up the forum with each new chapter in a new thread, and you surely don't need a “Table of Contents” thread with links to all chapters. The first post should also include an excerpt from your fanfiction, may it be a prologue or a chapter. Anything, as long as it contains a story. Other Threads
Plagiarism When posting a fanfic that you are not the original author of, you must credit the original author. Otherwise, the thread will be locked and you will be warned. (The exact amount is yet to be specified, will be around 20-30%.) The Jack Witt Clause You must be able to take criticism for your fanfic. Neg-repping a person just because they gave you a bad review or told you that your fanfic was bad in any other way is NOT OK. And most definitely, you should NOT REPORT IT. Instead, learn to live the comments and improve from them. Counter Clause! The Jack Witt Clause does not validate personal insults. "This fanfic is bad" is ok, since it might be. "You are a worthless piece of sh't" is not valid. If you want any specific posts in your thread deleted (because of spam or other valid reasons), either report it, or if I'm online, send me a PM and I'll handle it personally. Script Format Script format, writing your fanfic with a layout similar to a theatrical play or a film manuscript, is not allowed. Example (Click to View) NOTE: This post has been reported, and is awaiting moderator review |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
how long will you give everyone to make the necessary adjustments?
And, for purpose of "there must be a story on slide one", does a synopsis count? I can move my prologue back to page one if I need to. I just need to know when this will be enforced. :/ |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
I can give you two weeks to adjust.
A synopsis is a valid start; a bunch of characters scrabbled out is not. |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
two weeks is more than generous.
But, is there anything that I personally need to change on Edge of Justice to conform it too the rules? I am sure you don't want to check all the threads for "correctness" but I am a bit confused by what I need to change, if anything. :/ |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
The inclusion of a story in the first post is mainly for new fanfics created after these rules are enforced.
However, if you feel that you should add a PG marking (You know your story better than I do), do so. |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
Role-plays have their own rules. I might revise them sooner or later, but for now: They have their own rules.

Honest [Umbra Wrote:' pid='1157774' dateline='1222259559'] Thank you. So all I need to do is add a PG marking and my fan fic is safe? Thanks! ^_^ |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
Add this one: NO PLAGIARIZING.
Although it's rare, I've seen it happening before, and it hurts both the stealer and the victim. |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
Still, why would you have any reason to post someone else's work? If it's someone else's, lock and warn, regardless. At least that's what I think.

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
If you want to distribute a fanfic that you would like YCM to be able to read, for example.
(Simple version: If you found a good fanfic and want to give it to us.) |

RE: The Rules, Third Edition
So if I were to post a Fan-fic could I post a Chater 1 and then in the other chapters could I put them in spoilers that way I have ch 1 unspoiled and ch 2-? in spoilers giving me more room to post more or would I just have to post them in different posts in that 1 thread? And also How do you get it so you can click on a click to view button and it takes you to that thread without any additional clicking(srry I'm new and was thinking of starting a fan-fic,so I got a lot of questions.Again Srry).
