I know your reading this. If you had the curiosity to click this thread, might as well leave a post / review, no? If you like this archetype, you should show your appreciation on how much you like this archetype (if you do) by giving me some positive reps saying how much you like the archetype and maybe why you like it :) It'd be really, really appreciated. I am willing to give positive reps in return as well for your reviews on this archetype.

Well. This is one of my many Archetypes called Gamets. Gamets are an EARTH Attributed Machine-Type Archetype, that are also treated as Warrior-Types as well. The main strategy of the Gamets are a classic, original, yet somewhat forgotten thing, which is the use of Columns. They use Columns in a way to gain advantage through many different ways, but most likely for field control. There main strategies / tactics, also come through the Spells and Traps, which all have some sort of effect that would also somehow resemble something that would be done in battles, or maybe even video games. There main win condition / big monsters comes from their numerous amount of Synchro Monsters, along with a decent amount of Effect Monsters as well, which as well revolve around Columns. All Gamet's resemble some sort of video game-like image. Either as the heroes in the game, those cute little things that guide you in some games, or perhaps even some glitches in the system.

So, without further ado, I present....

In the year 2222, a new generation of gaming began. All games were taken in by the government, and returned as the product "GAMET". The GAMET product made every single game out there pop out from their game console screens, appearing in 3D, and with such stunning graphics, as if they were real. People heard rumors about who made the product, but never knew what the creator of the product really looked like. It wasn't until 2 months after GAMET had launched, the people knew that the creator had more evil intentions for the games.

All games under this product around the world suddenly burst out of their screens, breaking the consoles, TV's, and whatnot they were encased in, and started destroying anything in sight. After what it seemed like hours, but only a few minutes of their release, they started walking straight to what seemed like an abandon military testing grounds. The testing grounds led to an underground base, where the creator of these monsters hid. He redesigned all of them, slightly improving their appearance and actions. 2 days after this havoc, these "Gamets" came out from their underground base, and acted as if they were in the military, seeing all their actions were actions somewhat related to old-time military strategies and tactics.

Every time the military, or someone, would try to attack the underground base, they were brutally murdered through these video game characters. The Gamets what seemed like the mind of a super computer, in fact, just had a slightly more improved mind then before while they were encased in their games. This did not make them easier to handle though, seeing as a last resort, these video game characters would fuse together, making a new video game character that were much more powerful then the previous video game characters which were used for the summoning of this new monster. It has also been rumored these new video game characters were the characters that the creator thought off, but the government had rejected.

Nobody knew what the creators main goal was with this army. Was it world domination? Was it for fun? Nobody really knew. The only person who did know though, was the creator himself, who in very rare occasions, could be seen hidden within the center of his army of characters during an attack.

Lore:
Special Summon 1 "Gamet - Aerial Bombardment Token" (Machine-Type/EARTH/Level 1/ATK 100/DEF 100) in this Column and in the Column(s) next to this card. These Tokens cannot be destroyed except by their own effects. During the second End Phase of when this card was activated. Destroy all "Gamet - Aerial Bombardment Tokens" on the field. Then, your opponent selects one card on their side of the field that is in the same Column of each Token. The selected cards are returned to the Deck. The Deck is then shuffled.

Lore:
When this card is activated, it is also treated as a monster (Machine-Type/EARTH/Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 0). It cannot declare an attack or be destroyed by battle. You do not take any battle damage from battles involving this card. Your opponent must select this card as an attack target. When a monster that attacks this card is not in this card's Column, decrease that monster's ATK and DEF by 400 at the end of the damage step. You can Tribute this card to decrease the ATK and DEF of all monsters your opponent controls by 400.

Lore:
Up to twice per turn, when your opponent declares an attack on a "Gamet" monster you control, you can negate that attack. Each time you use this effect, remove from play 1 "Gamet" monster you control. It is returned to your side of the field during the End Phase of your turn. Your opponent cannot declare an attack on any monsters in the same Column as this card or that are in a Column next to this card.

Lore:
Activate only when a "Gamet" monster(s) you control is selected as an attack target, or by the effect of a monster that is at least 2 Level's higher then it. Negate the attack or effect of that monster, and remove it from play. Any other monsters of that Level on the field that are in a Column next to the original monster that was removed from play are removed from play as well.

8-10 I like the idea of these monsters resembling vid games. They actually do.
YES A POSTER :D Thank you for the review. Did my best for them to resemble video game-like characters. It'll make more sense though when I post up the story, which most likely will be somewhere today. A rep for you for being the first poster, and giving your opinions on the Archetype so far.

I won't go in depth for now on the single cards, but let me say just one thing: I got ninja'd :(

Anyways, first come, first serve, let's see what you can do with the column theme. Of course it's based on a Field Spell again, and I love this one in particular, because it has a huge impact on the gameplay without being overly long and complicated. And with enough possibilities to change the column of your monsters (or Spell/Trap Cards), this could be a masterpiece... yes, better than your Magicians, I believe in that ;)

Again, I hate you for taking that theme, but I love the cards made so far, this archetype is well worth exploring :)

And while we're at it: Video Games are awesome, I'm pretty curious how you keep this theme up... will we see some actual heroes or only their stereotype?

You know you still get a rep for feedback correct? xD Or do you mean you were going to use the Column theme as well?

HOW DARE YOU SAY THIS IS BETTER THEN MY MAGICIANS!!!!

I kid, I kid. I was actually quite excited for this Archetype, to revive such an old mechanic in YGO. And just so you know, all of my Archetypes, including the ones in the later on future, will always be based on some sort of Field Spell.

Again, I hate you for taking that theme, but I love the cards made so far, this archetype is well worth exploring :)
Why hating on the columns? D:

And while we're at it: Video Games are awesome, I'm pretty curious how you keep this theme up... will we see some actual heroes or only their stereotype?
Hm....lets see. You will see the following.

- Those cute little things in some games that teach you the basics
- Those little monsters that you have to fight before the big monster
- Those medium monsters that prepare you for the big monster
- The big monster
- Those heroes in some games
- Even some 'glitches'

All that I recall so far. And, Spells and Traps will also have some sort of a theme, Tactis and Strategies if you will, which most people would use when playing games involving battle, war, and / or tactics / strategies. In all, the Archetype is going to have a video game battle / war theme.

+Rep for you! :)

Why thank you, thats a rep for you for being so generous!
Why thank you :) But I'd like it if you were to rep me, to rep the first post of this thread (so the main post with the cards and everything). That way I don't need to scroll down to see how many reps did my Archetypes get me, and how much people appreciate my card making :)

Wow. 6 Comments. 70 Views. 4 of those comments being mine. YCM needs to start posting on this :D Oh one more tiny detail. Like my last Archetype, I am aiming for this to get me 10 Reps and 10 Pages. So every page, I will post 4 new cards. That way by the end, I will finally reach 10 Pages, and hopefully 10 Reps. Remember, if you rep me, please rep the main post of the thread.

Sadly, I agree xD No offense, but I hate seeing unoriginal cards, no matter how balanced it may be, I mean, of course a card is going to balanced if it's something from an already made card with a standard effect.

No worries, a review is all I ask for, no need for it to be over the top.

No problem. I really need the comments / reviews / whatnot. Well, it depends really. Seeing I post 4 cards every new page, and this thread is not really getting much attention, I just hope this will reach page 2 within a week or so, maybe before winter break at the least.
Thanks for the review forteller :) +Rep for you!

And to those currently reading this. If you have the time to look / skim through the card / thread, you might as well leave your comment / review on the Archetype so far. So please, please leave something to help me improve on the simplest things that may need well, improvement. It'd be gladly appreciated, and I give reps as well.

It's an overall nice take on that whole "column" business/theme, which has been attempted plenty of times; though, this one seems better, as if actual thought and effort was put into it. So, kudos for that.

The pictures and all that flow nicely, giving it that archtype feel, which I always like. And the style of this archtype—that being videogame-esque characters—is a nice touch; there's too many archtypes nowadays filled with nothing but dragons, warriors, etc.

I'm not one to critique single cards, so i'll just say it's excellent overall, and keep it going.

This I can agree on, even though my last Archetype was somewhat filled with 'nothing but Spellcasters'

although"Gamet - Linked Tops " is Teddy from Persona 4
Hm?

-Searches up-

:O well to be honest, I didn't know, seeing I get them from Jazin Kay's Image Archive, but either way, the Archetype is suppose to be based on video-game like character images xD And the Image itself is quite nice. But thank you for that bit of 'trivia' on the image.

I hope you will continue on giving reviews on this Archetype / It's Cards until it finally comes to an end. +Rep for you!

5 more posts is all is needed, hopefully at least 3 of those being reviews and 2 of them me either bumping the thread, or giving thanks to the reviews being given. Either way, 5 more posts until 4 more cards!! So....post people post!!

Wow, that really caught my eye! I'm a video game maniac, i'm just playing video game most part of my time.

This idea is awesome, recreating videogame heroes as yu-gi-oh cards, but still keeping an interesting, easy and balanced effect that could be used in lots of different techniques.

I couldn't see any OCG error or stuff like that. Effects are good, althou probably they'll just work well with the full set, or maybe with an really addicted person, if you understand what i'm saying .-.

My vote goes for 9/10 for now, since i think the effects for linked tops are kinda O'ped, and i haven't seen all the rest.
Good job! 9/10

As so am I. I'm more of a Computer > Video Game kinda guy, but Video Games I'm quite fond of as well.

Why thank you. Even though there not from actual video games (although I was told one of the images was), and not all the cards will be heroes, I see what your saying :)

aWW MAN THXS FOR THE INBOX :)

Your so freaking good at this i wanna be like you when i get older <3 lol

But really the new cards are pretty cool as the last cards i reviewed there not reliant on the field spell, but still allow the spell to benifi them a whole hell of a lot.

Out of the three new monsters my fav is the security device. you could stop your opponent from setting or summoning which is obviously devastating when the field spell is in play and still kinda useful when its not.

Your totally inspiring i think im gonna make my first set now.....

There still no story :(

I like these cards (Being a video game fanatic has nothing to do with it though >.>)
The effects seem fair and balanced and can't complain about the art either.
I will hold off my rating for now, until I have seen more of the set
But I will be watching this thread

Ok, OCG for the new cards seens fine, althou piercing damage should be Piercing Damage, with capital letters.

Ok, the images for the cards do combine, but i don't know, actually don't remeber me much of video games, but they are cool.
As for the effects, they seen very original to me, each card do a different thing then the other, and clearly the easyest connection way are only the columns.

I think there are two monsters that are kinda O'ped, security device and outer space protector.
Outer Space Protector is fine for the effect, but when you think about it, the effect + de level + de stats make it a little Op, since its ATK and DEF are to high. I may be wrong but thats my opinion. For Security Device i think you know why, a level 3 monster that can make your opponent not being able to summon monsters /spell/trap cards for 3 turns is kinda oped, since the drawback is extremely low. You just have to sacrifice it, that is to easy to do it, and you probably always have a gamet monster in the next column;
Well, my rating for the new cards is 8.8/10
Good job, but i dunno, just sounded a bit strange to me.

Thanks. I'm saving more of the video-game pictures for Boss Monsters / Synchros.

Yeah, 1700 ATK might be too high, but I want to keep the DEF to fit with the name. I'll think about reducing it to 1000 ATK or so.

For Security Device i think you know why, a level 3 monster that can make your opponent not being able to summon monsters /spell/trap cards for 3 turns is kinda oped, since the drawback is extremely low.
