--------
Several hundred years into the future, working with Pokémon is at its peak; they have become such an integral part of life that nobody would dream of doing something without them. The population of humans have also dramatically increased, and the big towns and cities are growing increasingly large in numbers, thus forcing them to destroy vegetation. Around the same time, numbers of wild Pokémon are depleting, but nobody knows why; at first, people believe that they are just not breeding as much as they used to do, but then it transpires that actually, the destruction of their natural habitat and the constant capturing of Pokémon are causing this threat.

Immediately, the government imposed a worldwide ban on capturing Pokémon, in order to protect those left in the wild. This came at a time much too late, and only a handful of each species were left in the wild. Fearing the worst, scientists extracted crucial DNA from each of the species (including all the Legendaries), and hoped that they could synthetically create more of their numbers, in the same way that they had created Mewtwo.

Using their technology, it took a while, but they eventually succeeded in creating the first ever Synthetic Pokémon; the Togepi in question was the perfect replica of a wild Pokémon - or Natural Pokémon, as they called them - in everything - characteristics, moveset, diet, etc. However, the Togepi died days after being created, and it seemed that the scientists' formula had been inadequate to support life form for more than a couple of days. Baffled, the scientists continued to improve, yet each Synethetic Pokémon suffered the same problem - none of their formulas were working.

During this time, Natural Pokémon were growing increasingly extinct, as more and more species were dead for good. Then, one night, a scientist called Roger Legge had the ingenious idea of infusing a single strand of Ditto DNA into the next Synthetic Pokémon he would create. His reasoning was that the Ditto must be incredibly strong if they were to be able to cope transforming into all known species of Pokémon, and Legge believed that by infusing that single strand of DNA, it should be enough to guarantee a Synthetic Pokémon’s survival. Thus, the male Unfezant that he created did indeed survive past the crucial first days.

At first, it seemed that the formula was a success. However, the Unfezant began to struggle with the Ditto DNA; it would occasionally manifest, and change the Unfezant to another species, completely at random, and vice versa. Legge's work was far from done, and he began to develop a system which would allow him to control the transformation aspect of the Synthetic Pokémon. He rigged a normal Pokédex to an electronic neckbrace, and by using the former to select the Pokémon, the neckbrace would respond and trigger the Ditto DNA to shapeshift the Unfezant into the selected Pokémon.

With Legge's work now complete, newbie Pokémon Trainers once again emerged. Scientists created hundreds and hundreds of Synthetic Pokémon, mainly to do further experiements on the Pokédex system, and also to try and figure how to create a Natural Pokémon again without it dying prematurely.

The RP starts fifty years later with a new generation of trainers from Kanto who are fetching their first - and only - Synthetic Pokémon from Professor Legge’s lab; little do they know that the night before, five of the lab’s Synthetic Pokémon went missing. And they’re more than eager to keep the news hushed up…

Due to the way the Synthetic Pokémon function, there are a few changes in certain areas:

Pokédexes
Nobody will be starting with a complete Pokédex, as the scientists are afraid that people will abuse its use. The most common way to obtain more Pokémon is to beat Gym Leaders, or win Pokémon Contests or League Conferences. The distribution of Pokémon onto the Pokédexes is completely randomised due to the busy workload of the scientists, so nobody knows what they’re going to get next.

There is also a feature on the Pokédexes to ensure that each trainer only has six Pokémon on their team at any one time; this means that once all six slots are full, any more new Pokémon the trainer receives cannot be accessed unless the trainer puts them into one of the slots.

Evolution
As you start to acquire more and more Pokémon throughout your journey, one should bear in mind that each Pokémon must be treated as completely separate, just like one would treat two Natural Pokémons separately. So, say if a trainer has a Charmander and a Torchic at levels 20 and 8, respectively, they can evolve their Charmander, but the evolution will not affect the Torchic.

If a Pokémon needs to evolve by using an item, then it is still used as normal. Once the item has been used, it is no longer a working object, therefore rendering it useless.

With the Pokédexes, there is one unique aspect of evolution that you can do; as a Pokédex will keep a record of every Pokémon, even when a certain one has evolved, it is still possible to select and use their pre-evolution stages. Any EXP they gain will still contribute to their third stage evolution (if applicable).

Regarding Dittoes, Porygons and Legendaries
As all Synthetic Pokémon now have Ditto DNA in them, Dittoes are now considered a “non-species”, and have been erased from the Pokédexes. Their number in the national Pokédex still stays, although when a user tries to load the information, nothing happens.

Porygons are not obtainable via the usual method of downloading data onto the user’s Pokédex; they can only be obtained through the “virtual world”, as it is so-called by the scientists, but access to the place is at their discretion. It is rumoured that to gain a Porygon, one must complete a series of incredibly rigorous tests, although rarely anyone has ever applied for a Porygon, so nobody really knows what to expect.

Legendaries are also available to download, but nobody has yet been allowed to acquire a Legendary. Nobody is even certain as to what the criteria is to gain them. Indeed, they are the only known Natural Pokémon that is still alive. Occasional sightings are reported, but otherwise, they have completely isolated themselves from mankind.

Battling and statistics

Statistics
Your Pokémon’s HP will stay the same across all transformations, regardless of what evolution they’re at. It does improve over time, and it is believed, but not proven, that the more Pokémon you have at the same stage as each other, the better HP your Pokémon will generally have.

Battling
The process of battling remains exactly the same. However, if one switches Pokémon part way through, one must bear in mind that this is exactly the same Pokémon, so any damage will carry through, and one really has only got one chance to win. This is the same for Gym Leaders and League Conferences.

Practice battles
As there is now no wild Pokémon remaining, in every city there are Training Gyms, and they are used to provide opponents for trainers to train their Pokémon. Due to their popularity and limited places, all Training Gyms operate on pre-booked sessions where, for a small fee, one can book a field to use for an hour at most.

These places have everything required to adjust to one’s needs. They even have mock gym leader battles, contests and leagues available.

Rewards
As aforementioned, winning gym leaders, Contests and League Conferences can earn the trainer another Pokémon:

Gym Leaders – 1 Pokémon
Contests – 2 Pokémon (winner), 1 Pokémon (runner-up)
League Conferences – 3 Pokémon (winner), 2 Pokémon (runner-up), 1 Pokémon (third place)

Markets
Evolution items such as the Evolutionary Stones have greatly decreased in quantity, and they have become so rare that people have to join a waiting list in order to be able to acquire them. These waiting lists are incredibly long, and people could end up waiting decades before it is their turn.

Unless one happens to be extremely lucky and stumble across an item (highly unlikely), the only other option is to use the very discreet Black Market. Dealers often have these items in their possession at a more frequent rate than shops, but they charge double the price for the item. They also stock illegal means of increasing a Pokémon’s stats; although they work very effectively, they always leave very nasty long-term effects on the Pokémon’s health, and in the most extreme cases, it accumulates into premature death (how cheerful!).

This is currently what they have in stock:

Potion: 300§
Antidote 100§
Paralyze Heal 200§
Awakening 250§
Burn Heal 250§
Ice Heal 250§
Full Heal 300§
Full Restore 3000§

Total number of people on the waiting list for any Evolutionary Stone/Evolution Item: 297,351 and counting.
Trainer App
Name: Katrina Muskovo
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance:
-Height: 5'11"
-Weight: 140lb
-Complexion: Fair
-Frame: Regular
-Eye colour: Dark grey
-Hair: Elbow-length reddish-brown hair that is wavy and left to let down
-Clothing: Katarina wears a corset-styled navy blue tube top, black skinny jeans, and brown ankle boots. She sometimes also wears a black shrug with puffed sleeves. She has a mechanism attached to her Pokedex which allows her to attach it to her wrist like a D-Pad. Anything else is kept in her rucksack.
-Other: N/A
Personality: Katarina is very demure, and she often acts and speaks sensibly. However, her real personality is quite devious and scheming; she has an extremely keen eye on pulling pranks and excels at lying. She is very good at being secretive and uncaring, and she can suppress her emotions quite well; as a result, she rarely has any real friends, and if anybody tries to entrust a secret with her, she's likely to "accidently" let it slip out, which makes her incredibly unreliable. The only thing she cannot control is her allergy, and Katarina is often paranoid that people will manipulate it against her, thus she turns extremely moody, snappy and sometimes over aggressive.
Biography: Katarina has suffered from hay fever since she was three, but this rather unusually lead to her becoming allergic to Grass-type Pokemon, and sometimes Bug-types. Her parents were first aware of this when she was four; her mother had a Bellosom, and Katarina's hands were covered in rashes from playing with the Bellosom. Ever since then, precautions have been taken to prevent Katarina from coming into contact with any of the two aforementioned Pokemon, but this did not deter her from growing up to be a Pokemon trainer. Indeed, when she turned 16, her parents willingly let her start on her adventure, and they were careful to let Professor Legge know of her unusual condition.

Name: Basden (sometimes "Lord")
Species: Igglybuff
Gender: Male
Personality: Basden is quite ... musical, to put it one way. Despite his limited singing abilities, he is unabashed to break into song at any time; similarly, he's quite unabashed to do whatever is on his mind, and this is often the main source of embarassment for Katarina. Basden is also quite stubborn, as he MUST have his way in virtually everything, and he half-expects people to treat him like he's a real Lord, hence his nickname.

He is very intelligent, and has a vast memory. He is good with language and math, and is skilled at debate. He has a large Egotistical streak. He doesn't respect unintelligent people. he always expects people to keep their word. He considers himself very virtuous, and never swears, uses alcohol or illegal narcotics.
Biography: Edmond was diagnosed with aspergers systems, a mild form of autism. He had a fairly average child hood. His sister cruelly tormented him. His grades were always good, and he was accepted into a good college, at which point he became a physicist, helping to design the spacetime warping, antimatter engines that is making interstellar flight possible. Trainer App
Name: Jake Harrison
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Appearance:
-Height: 6'3"
-Weight: 192 pounds
-Complexion: Palish
-Frame: He looks a bit athletic, though mostly skinny
-Eye colour: Green
-Hair: Medium length straight hair, colored a light brown. He usually has it cut short.
-Clothing: Wears white or grey polo shirts, with blue jeans, usually. His sneakers are white and blue, and he wears a watch, most of the time.
-Other: You can see when he walks - he always seems hurt even if nothing was done to him.
Personality: He is never attentive, and his eyes always flees to something new in his environment. He attempts to me kind, but always finds things boring and looks away. He has obsessive compulsive disorder over numbers, always fixing things so that they're even in number. He will always think over a situation, and before he can rethink it over, he's already moving. He has little control over his quirks, and may say something that he didn't mean, or do something that he didn't mean to do. He isn't very funny, nor is he very serious.
Biography: At the age of 1, Jake fell down the stairs, causing permanent damage to the area of his brain where sight was controlled, and right under that, in the cerebellum, where hand-eye coordination was controlled. As a result, he could never see well, but good enough to function normally - rather, his hand-eye coordination was way off, and he could only move one hand in response to his sight, while the other hand did something different. As he grew up, he wasn't able to play as normally as other boys his age, often dropping of missing a catch cause he could never move his other hand in time to curdle the object. He was really good at math, something that didn't bore him as much as the other subjects, and decided to become an economist (economy doesn't bore him either), and went to college to study economy. He's always able to go and play with his pokemon after his studies, which he finds enjoyable.

Pokémon app
Name: Altair (named after the star)
Species: Swablu
Gender: Male
Personality: In a way, he's very knowledgeable, able to absorb his surroundings and quickly adapt. Altair likes to sing, and sings pretty well, but also uses his singing for communication with Jake, a specific note scheme using a single octave - where single sounds mean different things in different situations. He likes berries and fruit, as well as seeing others. He tries to make up for Jake's inattentiveness. But, similar to Jake's OCD, he has one too - he hates dirty places. He always cleans things with his wings.
Ability: Natural Cure
Other: Cannot fly, yet. Probably at Lv. 10, or something. For now, he just perches on Jake's shoulder. His wings, which have helium on their tips, allow him to jump high by flapping his wings.

Trainer App
Name: Juliet (Real name: "Stephen Magnet"). Also goes by Pink, Pinks or Pinky.
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance:
-Height: 5'8
-Weight: 130 lb
-Complexion: Slightly tan
-Frame: Deceptively slender, to the point he can squeeze into very small spaces with ease
-Eye color: Light blue
-Hair: Flows down a bit below the shoulder, cut into a fairly feminine style that is nevertheless rather easy to keep without much effort. Light brown colored with streaks of tan and dark blond shot through on the right side, the lightest strands giving the appearance of three lines down his left bangs. Hair is rarely worn in exactly the same style twice, usually changing it up with bows or other small accessories that seem rather strange at first blush.
-Clothing: Juliet's signature article of clothing is his bright pink coat jacket, impeccably tailored with cuff-links made of ambered flower petals and a design on the back and on the front pocket of a strange coat of arms, the seal of an obscure acting school marked with images of feathers and flowers.
Beneath the jacket is a bright white shirt, always kept clean, which is nevertheless covered with his personal marks. Various autographs, many of them illegible decorate the back, and the sides include scraps of cloth from different pieces of clothing stitched in. The left sleeve is longer than the right, and is colored a deep pink. Various sticky notes are attached to the sides as well, bearing various reminders and mementos from across the years, most of which he's forgotten about until he checks again.
His pants are a dark purplish mauve, still in the pink spectrum, which are plainly newer than anything else that he wears. Unlike everything else, they are largely bereft of improvements or personal touches added to them, though there is a pocketwatch sewn into one of the left pockets- and a total of sixteen hidden pockets are stored in various spots, allowing him to carry large amounts of small objects at once.
-Other: Juliet carries various accessories, including a silver pocketwatch engraved with the shield of Cinnabar University that has a pressed flower bloom inside of it, and a pair of silvery reading glasses and prescription pink sunglasses in various hidden pockets. He has a small music player equipped with a custom tiny speaker that has a massive maximum volume, used fairly often when music is needed.
Personality: Juliet could be described vaguely as a sort of human parakeet: Colorful and very loud. He is possibly the most cheerful and accepting person could meet, having made it a personal goal to make friends with as many people as possible. He can't stand to see others sad or depressed and goes to great personal lengths in order to cheer them up, even when he has no attachment or obligation to do so. His eccentricities are multiple and obvious, spending most of his time in a world where things are far more colorful and need to make far less sense than they do in the real world, which leads to the occasional conflict when people can't see the method to his madness- if there is one. He speaks frequently and at length, which combined with his status as a cuckoocloudlander, often leads to people tiring of his antics and avoiding him, leaving him with few long-term friends.
Though Juliet is able to deal with people who react negatively to him at the beginning (usually resulting in him trying to help with whatever that person's problem is), he is almost totally dependent on the opinions of his current friends, to the point where he'll react very strongly to perceived notions of betrayal. With his strong imagination, this often causes friction when he images slights that aren't actually there- or, paradoxically, doesn't come up at all if he manages to rationalize these betrayals in his strange way.
In any case, Juliet is flamboyant, expressive, bright, happy and peppy to the point where one assumes he subsists off of sugar. At best, he's a spot of joy and intuition; at worse, he's dangerously unstable and paranoid.
Biography: A thespian from a young age, Juliet got his nickname when he was cast as the female lead in a production of "Romeo & Juliet" and went on to preform it perfectly. Though he loved theater and was content as a professional actor in local venues, he was convinced by his parents to takes some time to see the rest of the world- where he might get some needed perspective, and perhaps mature a bit. Juliet wasn't a hard sale- though he loves acting, the idea of a fantastic journey is appealing in itself.

Pokémon app
Name: Elusive
Species: Archen
Personality: Elusive seems mean-spirited and rather bad tempered in comparison to her master, and that would be largely correct. Finicky and liable to bite anything that looks too shiny, she doesn't appear to be that intelligent and is fine with simply following any orders her master gives, no matter how ludicrous or stupid they may seem... unless she doesn't feel like it, and prefers to just bite the hand of someone annoying.
In critical moments, however, Elusive reveals her true colors. Though incredibly cunning, she is lazy enough that she prefers not to think when possible, and likes the way that people underestimate her when she acts dim. She has an almost supernatural sense of when shiny objects are around, and collects most of them beneath her pinion feathers, hidden away from general people.
Ability: Defeatist
Other: Enjoys eating just about everything. Trinkets, pieces of tech, shiny rocks, trees, expensive pieces of art, small living creatures, bits of large still-living creatures, human fingers if they get too close...

Trainer App
Name: Kaitlyn "Kate" Marsh
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance:
-Height: 5'6''
-Weight: 128 lbs.
-Complexion: Fair
-Frame: Slim
-Eye colour: Blue
-Hair: Short black hair, shiny and straight. Usually braided down her back.
-Clothing: A plain white T-shirt with a gray jacket thrown over it on chilly days. Dark brown capri pants are a usual, but when she wants to travel a pair of blue jeans will suffice. White sneakers are must.
-Other: A slightly crushed photograph of her and her grandmother can be found in her pocket.
Personality: Kate seems like your stereotypical country girl at first glance, born in a small town and speaking with a soft accent, but this image shatters once you get to know her. In truth, she is a genius, cunning and stunningly smart. She seems to find amusement is tricking people in regards to her appearance, oftentimes leading people on with many a "Howdy" and naive comment before flooring the person in question with her searing intellect. However, she'll quickly apologize for tricking you in a such a way (though the apology will happen in-between snorts of laughter) and will be friendly and kind afterwards. She doesn't show people up with her knowledge, but can find people with lesser intellects a bit taxing at times. She is competitive to the extreme, always wanting to be the best around. This can lead her to do things, despite her brain telling her not to, brash and stupid acts.
Biography: A country girl born and raised, Kate grew up in a Kanto town that is so small it's not even marked on maps. She lived with her grandmother, her parents having died in a accident with a Charizard the year after her birth. Her grandmother was a pushy and dominative woman, always pushing her granddaughter to be better and better, and while this occasionally put them at odds, Kate respected her grandmother for this and always tried to please her. As a result, Kate grew up to be very smart and keen, smarter than most. She quickly established her want to be a Pokemon Trainer, often having long talks with one of their (few) neighbors about Pokemon training and battling. Her grandmother, picking up on this and finding Kate to be strong enough to do so, surprised Kate on her 16th birthday with 2000 Pokedollars and a bus ticket to Pallet Town. After stopping at Celadon City, the closest big city to her town, and picking up supplies, Kate left to go to Professor Legge's lab and start her very own Pokemon journey.

He squawks is anyone get's too close to her, and if anyone tries to attack Kate, he will charge them head-on. However, those Kate have told him are "good people" he will treat with austere courtesy, always ready to help them or their Pokemon out. He seems to think of Kate as a god, always doing what she asks. This could be potentially fatal, but Kate loves the little guy and hasn't abused this trust he's placed in her.
Ability: Keen Eye
Other: Gale has a undue fascination with TMs and HMs, and, if Kate is not in any present danger, he will always go off to inspect them.

Generally alright, but elaborate on the hair part of the app. So far as I can tell, he has blonde hair, and that's it. I don't know how long it is, or how it's styled, etc. Oh, and your Cyndaquil's moveset doesn't match either. He should only have Tackle and Leer as his moves, so get rid of Ember.

Moveset:
- Peck
- Growl
- Astonish

No problem Lux

Hmmm ... at this stage, it seems we might not get anybody else. If that's the case, I'm thinking of starting the RP with just the four of us (and anybody else who joins between now and me approving Lux's app)

*Dynamic Entry to the face*
Money: 0 (Not so great with money)
Inventory: 2 Potion, 2 Antidote, 1 Paralyze Heal, 2 Awakening, 1 Burn Heal, 1 Ice Heal

Moveset: Quick Attack, Leer, Wing Attack, Rock Throw

Pokémon app
Name: Gale
Species: Rufflet
Gender: Male
Personality: Gale is fierce and protective. Despite the fact he is less than half her height, Gale has appointed himself Kate's guardian, and is always very suspicious of strangers around her.

@Lux - accepted

@Ty - accepted; the only nitpick is that your character's money doesn't quite match with your character's inventory. Unless they have duplicates of potions and/or full heals, they should have 1400, not 500.

@Alex - reserve accepted.

Once Alex gets his app in, then we can start the RP.
