Hello guys, this is my first topic in the boards. It took [i]forever[/i] for me to receive my validation email >_>

Well, anyways, these are cards I made, based on characters from Dissidia 012. Go easy on me ^3^b

This set focuses on searching, Normal Summoning, Synchros.

Strengths & Weaknesses (feel free to correct me and/or provide additional info)
+ Consistency. Can search for materials and synchro in the 2nd/3rd turn.
+ Support cards are searchable, recyclable, and useful.

- Minimum swarming capabilities.
- Easily destroyed by lockdown cards such as Wanghu (most monsters are below 1400 ATK, thus it is destroyed, and you can't Synchro with 0 monsters on the field :P) or Rai-Oh (searching effect is nulled) or Shi En (SixSam Synchros faster, and Shi En can negate Harmonic Crystals, thus, no Synchro).

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must be Special Summoned by its own effect, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. There can only be 1 face-up "Shinryu, Creator of Dissidia" on the field. While you have "Cosmos, Dissidia Goddess of Harmony" and "Chaos, Dissidia God of Discord" in your Graveyard: You can banish "Cosmos, Dissidia Goddess of Harmony", "Chaos, Dissidia God of Discord", and 2 "Dissidia Warrior" monsters with different names, then Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card is sent to the Graveyard by your opponent's card effect: You can add up to 3 "Dissidia Warrior" monsters from your Graveyard to your hand. If this face-up card you control is targeted for an attack: You can banish a "Dissidia" monster from your hand or Graveyard to negate that attack and destroy the attacking monster. Hmm, overall not a bad set so far the art looks good (although squenix stuff always does), and they seem to have nice synergy. There are only two problems I can really see; the first being some minor OCG problems, for example yugioh doesn't use target in the way your cards do. The other is that you might want to think a bit more about balanceing the cards, pretty much every effect monster except sephiroth is bannably overpowered and the ex mode just seems to do a little too much. Overall they need some fine tuning but are intruiging in concept. 7/10

Mmm, how should I re-write the targeting part then? EDIT2: You're talking about Ifrit and Shiva right? I have no clue how to write that part, so I'd love some suggestions. Basically, I want Ifrit to be a Stardust Dragon (without the SS during End Phase part) that negates attacks, and Shiva negates Spell/Trap.

I'll try nerfing the cards, too.

EDIT: I'll add "This card cannot be Special Summoned" to all Dissidia Warrior cards (and change Chaos's effect a bit), so the set only revolves around Normal Summoning and searching. Would that balance the cards a bit?

Actually, could you point out exactly which part was OP? I see Warrior of Light as a Karakuri Komachi clone; Firion can search Equips (I might drop it to [i]up to 2[/i] instead of up to 3), but you can't activate it right away; Cloud helps you draw 1 card, but you have to battle a Defense Position monster; Yuna's OP-ness depends on Shiva and Ifrit, so if they're OP, I'll nerf them; Exdeath can only search Dissidia cards. And my set has no Special Summon ability ([i]I will remove that SS thing from Chaos[/i]), which means they can't swarm like Fabled/Six Samurai/Tengu Synchro

On a card by card basis:
#1: A lot like komache yes, but without the attack mandate and her 0 atk. Also karkuris don't have enter play abilities while the warriors do, as he currently stands, he's just free field advantage.

#2: The loss of spells does help but PoD showed us that if a card is powerful enough people will devise ways around the restrictions, and double Power Tool for a normal summon is definately powerful enough.

#8: Defense position monsters aren't that hard to come by (Ryko, spirit reaper, sometimes tengu, snowman eater, treeborn)and the ability to bait out Rykos and Eaters and get repeated draws is just insane.

#10: Free Huge Synchro, need i really say more?

#5: Sams would kill for a recruiter like that, ditch any random useless card for pretty much any monster in the deck.

#12: Free field advantage, kills D.D. Warrior lady, legendary jujitsu master, grand mole, spirit reaper, the odd formula left unattended.

The synchros are pretty balanced really, Shiva might be a little OP, I'd just make her cold wave instead of just freezing the opponent.

Thanks for the input. I thought field advantage would be balanced since this set has no Special Summoning capabilities (let's forget Chaos for now). I'll tone it down a bit then.

I'm thinking of making:

- #1: [s][s]Tribute[/s]/discard a card after each turn, or this card is destroyed.[/s] Discard a card, Normal Summon an additional Dissidia Warrior.
- #2: Can only search out 2 Spell Cards, discard 1 at random. The spell card freeze still applies.
- #5: Dunno yet. Need suggestions.
- #7: [i]When this card destroys a [s]Defense Position[/s] monster, draw 1 card[/i]
- #10: [i]When this card is Normal Summoned: [s]You can add 1 "Dissidia Warrior" monster from your Graveyard to your hand[/s] You can pay 1500 LP to Special Summon a level 7 or lower "Dissidia" Synchro Monster[/i]
- #12: Dunno yet. Still trying to make this guy fit into the deck, but it's quite hard ATM.

After seeing cards: My expectations have been thankfully wrong.

Seriously, these cards are a nice change from he whole "LOL I MAKE CLOUD HAVE 3000 ATK COS HES AWESOME!!1" part of FF cards. Well balanced, and any OCG errors or playability issues I would have ahd were brought up.

By the way, for Exdeath, how about making it so that the "Dissidia Monster" summoned by his effect, if removed from the field, is banished? Might be a bigger limitation than expected, but it'd balance the "dump s*** card for good card" part somewhat

On the whole, a really good set. Keep up the great work!

Thanks. As for the Exdeath part, the problem is that Exdeath's effect isn't to Special Summon, it's just adding cards to your hand. And if I changed it to SS a card, then it'd be too good(?) and it'd ruin the Normal Summon theme.

Also, @ above poster: I think Gabranth might need some tuning (I doubt he'd even reach 1700 ATK...), but I see Exdeath and Sephiroth are fine currently.

Additional notes: I just added Shinryu's Purification. I thought the effect might be a bit... OP? But I really like the idea of bringing fallen warriors back to your hand. If it is OP (or for some reason, UP) then please tell me.

I'm surprised in a very positive way by this set. To think that a user with less than 20 points can add such nice flavor to the game play.
Really good job! You remind me of myself when I started... That sounded stupid.. :D

In my opinion, all of the Monsters with less than 1100 ATK could use about a 200+ ATK boost, nothing too high though. I love Dissidia, and the effects are great.

P.S.: Did you make all of the card images yourself or did you find them online?

Ah, okay, that's what I have too. I'm working on a Mortal Kombat series and I was wondering in case I hadn't found any already made and rendered backgrounds.
