Firework Archetype

Nu-Mou Knight

Recommended Posts

This is just a little Archetype I thought up after the 4th of July. It doesn't really fit in Pop Culture, and isn't really realistic either, so hopefully this would be the proper placement. Also, I've tried using the full new OCG, minus that mess of colons and semi-colons they're pushing on the Xyzs.

This card can attack twice during the same Battle Phase. When this card destroys a monster by battle, this card can gain or lose 1 Level.

This card gains 100 ATK points for each "Firework" monster you control, excluding "Firework Wolf". When you control 5 "Firework" monsters, including "Firework Wolf", this card inflicts Piercing Battle Damage.

Once per turn, when this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, it can attack again during the same Battle Phase. This card can attack your opponent directly during a turn where you activate this effect. When this Defense Position card is targeted for an attack and you control no other "Firework" monsters, it is destroyed without Damage Calculation.

This card cannot attack more than once during the same Battle Phase. If this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. When this Defense Position card is attacked, you can discard 2 cards and this card gains DEF equal to the total Level of "Firework" monsters you control x100 during the Damage Step.

When this card declares an attack, it can gain ATK equal to half of the total DEF of "Firework" monsters you control, excluding "Firework Falcon".

Twice per turn, when this Attack Position card would be destroyed by battle, it loses 150 ATK instead. When this card's ATK becomes 900 by this effect, it is destroyed. This card is unaffected by Trap Cards.

This card cannot be sent to the Graveyard by a Trap or Monster Effect. When this card is returned to your hand, Special Summon it during the End Phase. Battle Damage taken by this card is doubled.

When this attacking monster does not destroy the target monster by battle, it is not destroyed. (Damage Calculation is applied normally.) The targeted monster loses 200 ATK and DEF points for each "Firework" monster in your Graveyard during each of your Standby Phases. When the monster's ATK and/or DEF becomes less than 0, it is destroyed.

When this card is Normal Summoned, add 2 "Firework" monsters from your Graveyard to your hand. Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 "Firecracker Token" (Pyro-Type/FIRE/Level 2/ATK 1000/DEF 100) in Attack Position. You can Tribute 2 "Firecracker Tokens" to destroy 1 Level 4 or lower monster on the field and your opponent takes 400 points of Effect Damage. This card cannot be treated as a "Firework" monster while you control another "Firework" monster.

1 "Firework" Tuner + 1 or more LIGHT or FIRE non-Tuner monsters
This face-up card is also treated as a FIRE and Dragon-Type monster. When this card battles with an opponent's monster, you can pay 600 Life Points and the opponent's monster loses ATK and DEF equal to the total Level of "Firework" monsters you control x100. This Defense Position card cannot be destroyed by battle with a non-"Firework" monster.

1 "Firework" Tuner + 1 or more LIGHT non-Tuner monsters
This face-up card is also treated as a Dragon-Type monster. "Firework" monsters you control gain 200 ATK points during battle with a DARK monster. When this card destroys a monster by battle, you can Banish 1 card in your hand and Special Summon 1 "Firework" monster from your Graveyard. 1 monster your opponent controls loses 300 ATK points when you activate this effect.

1 "Firework" Tuner + 1 or more FIRE non-Tuner monsters
This face-up card is also treated as a Dragon-Type monster. Defense Position "Firework" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by an opponent's Spell or Trap Card effects, except this card. This card inflicts Piercing Battle Damage. When a Level 3 or lower monster your opponent controls loses ATK, it is destroyed.

3 "Firework" monsters
The Fusion Material Monsters used in this card's Fusion Summoning cannot be equipped with Equip Spell Cards. When this card destroys a monster by battle, 1 "Firework" monster you control gains 300 ATK, except "Firework Lord - Radienne". When this card is destroyed by the effect of a Spell or Trap Card, Special Summon as many Level 3 or lower "Firework" monsters from your Graveyard as possible.

Once per turn, you can add 1 "Firework" monster to your hand from your Deck or Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Firework" monster from your Graveyard. If you activate this effect, skip your next Draw Phase.

Select 1 Level 4 or lower "Firework" monster and 1 WATER monster you control. Tribute selected WATER monster and Special Summon 1 "Firework" monster from your Deck or Graveyard with the same name as the selected "Firework" monster.

"Firework" monsters you control gain 300 ATK until the End Phase. If this card was activated during your turn, "Firework" monsters inflict Piercing Battle Damage during this turn's Battle Phase.

Equipped face-up monster you control is treated as a "Firework" monster. The equipped monster gains 1000 DEF and 300 ATK points when it battles with a FIRE monster. When this card would be sent to the Graveyard, you can place it on top of your Deck.

This card can only be equipped to a Normal monster. The equipped monster gains 100 ATK and DEF for each "Firework" monster on the field. When this card is removed from the field, you can Banish it and Special Summon 2 Level 3 or lower "Firework" monsters from your hand.

Increase the DEF of "Firework" monsters by 200 points. When a monster gains or loses ATK and/or DEF by the effect of another "Firework" monster, double the gain or loss.

Select 1 face-up monster. The selected monster loses 3 levels for each "Firework" monster you control. If the selected monster loses levels equal to or more than it originally had, it is destroyed.

Select 1 monster your opponent controls. The selected monster loses 200 ATK and DEF for each "Firework" monster you control. The selected monster cannot declare an attack or apply its effect during your opponent's next 2 Battle Phases.

During your Standby Phase, you can pay 600 Life Points to Banish 1 Level 5 or lower "Firework" monster from your Graveyard or Deck. When you control 2 or fewer cards during your opponent's Standby Phase, you can discard your hand to Special Summon "Firework" monsters Banished by the above effect up to to the number of cards discarded by this effect.

This card can only be activated when your opponent's "Firework" monster declares an attack. Destroy the attacking monster and flip a coin. If heads, your opponent takes Effect Damage equal to the monster's Level x half of its DEF. If tails, you take Effect Damage equal to the monster's DEF.
All helpful comments welcome. Also, if anyone happens to have or see a good picture of firework displays that they'd like for me to use, feel free to PM me with a link and I'll credit you with the image.

OK!
A.) Damn. Nice cards.
2.) The OCG normally doesn't allow the word "Piercing Damage" to be put onto an effect with the exception of the 2 monsters. But I don't care about that rule. And
C.) No Field Spell card? That's not fair....I wanted to see a Field Spell Card as the theme for the archetype.

Why thank you for that...rather exacting number, Arceus. To address your concern with "Reflection", it might actually be viable to toss in a few WATERS. Are we forgetting "Cape of Fire"? WATERs could actually support the "Firework" effects should they be equipped with it, and if the Cape is destroyed, one needs more pure "Fireworks" for Xyz and Fusion, the WATER can't perform as well due to some effect, etc., then you can produce another "Firework" on the spot. Just a thought, and I am working on a few Fusions for the update. Again, thanks for the comment.

Firework Serpent's effect is almost useless. It can attack directly after it already attacked but nowhere in the effect does it state it can actually attack again.

For Cape of Fire, the first part of it's effect makes more sense to say something like:

While you control the equipped monster: It is treated as a "Firework" monster.

I also like the idea because I made some cards with that Archtype. Don't worry, you didn't miss them. There's no way you could have seen them because I made them for a contest. Try to continue it.

I thought that was understood, but looking back I can see your point. It will be fixed.

Meh, I think what I have comes across clear enough. The equipped monster, while face-up and under the player's control, is treated as a "Firework".

I panicked for a second there. Don't worry, I will do my best to continue it.

Thanks for the critiquing, Eclair. Hope you'll check back when I update, which should be by Wednesday.

And you need less:

Thank you for saying what we were thinking. Konoe, I'd appreciate a word on my work instead of a Katy Perry music video.

Again, I will be updating this. As I said in the OP, if anyone happens to have an interesting image of fireworks that I could use, kindly PM it to me and I'll credit you for the image if I can find a use for it. The update should come by Wednesday.
