Is getting this for birthday/Xmas.
It's an enjoyable tale, not amazingly well written or as good as hyped, but enjoyable fantasy.
Should never have been stretched out over 4 books.

For the longest time.
I read the first three, but I just can't force myself to read #4. Not only was it so long ago that I barely remember where we left off, I've also reached the point where I've stopped caring. There's just nothing that makes me want to read it.

I think 4 books was a good idea, there's just so much I can't imagine it being fit into 3 books.
There was so much pointless dragged out filler in book three it was unreal.
I read the first three, but I just can't force myself to read #4. Not only was it so long ago that I barely remember where we left off, I've also reached the point where I've stopped caring. There's just nothing that makes me want to read it.
I had this with Harry Potter and to an extent this now, just 'we've come this far might as well see the end' syndrome. But never with Dark Materials.

Actually surprised it was the green unhatched dragon on the cover.
Was expecting that to only hatch at the very very end, like the last chapter, and for Shuriken to be on the front (would have looked badass).
I'm intrigued.

I haven't read it yet, and no one tell me anything about it, but I think it would be Arya. Now way Roran would get it, he cares too much about his family to go out and do it, and it doesn't fit him. Though not like he would have a choice, I think.

Rorans son then. I think Arya is very unlikely. You have Eragon, then you have Murtagh, Eragons half-brother. Its only logical that the next Rider is his cousin or nephew.

You mean Roran's as of Brisingr unborn son? If he's in the fight against Galbatorix with a dragon, there would have to be a major timeskip, or he'd be a magic fighting baby.
