4Kids is selling the rights to many of their shows, including Yu-Gi-Oh!

Saban > 4Kids, so this is actually an improvement. How much of an improvement it is debatable.

Shradow already explained why, but I'll give my own answer. 4Kids has no choice but to sell the rights if they want money, and petitioning isn't going to stop that, especially because most people want 4Kids to stop dubbing it. Keep in mind that right now 4Kids still has the rest, so they can still finish airing the first season before they no longer have the rights.

Just sampled a Dragon Quest dub from Saban, it seems...I dunno, this one guy made a lame pun, I don't know if Saban made it lame or it's just the character.
But I'll take Roxas' word for it. As long as they don't go overboard with edits, then wynaut.
What channel would this be on though?

When i first heard about this i was like 'Seriously?' because they went through the whole lawsuit thing, plus they filed for bankruptcy, so i agree that they had no choice if they wanted money. I can't remember sampling a Saban dub, but surely they can't do a worse job than 4kids

To clarify, 4Kids is only auctioning the rights, and Saban is just one of the first people to bid on it. We won't know all the details until May 31, so right now we'll just have to see who gets it. I'm hoping that either Funimation or even Viz Media has a chance to get the rights to Yu-Gi-Oh!

Saban dubbed Digimon and Shinzo, if that helps you understand what they've done.

I really hope FUNimation gets it. If they can make it anything like those uncensored DVDs of the first Yu-Gi-Oh!, that would be great. (Hellfire's Rage, Exodo Flame anyone?)

Saban did some pretty major edits as well. For example they removed the auto rifle and the magnum 44, from the pinocchimon episodes , and not to forget the editing of pinocchimon killing two of his henchmen (Blossomon and Mushromon) with the above mentioned Magnum 44. I'm most certainly sure there were more edits, but since i watched the direct port of the original in german and italian, i've got no idea.

Saban? He did bring us shows like Power Rangers, VR Troopers, Digimon, Tekkaman Blade, and X-Men. He also was the first to dub Dragonball Z. He took Super Sentai and made into something more entertaining. Are you aware of how often I fall asleep watching Zyuranger regardless of how good the episode might be, but stay wide awake watching MMPR because of the inevitable Putty fight to Ron Wasserman music 5 minutes into the episode that has little relevant to the episode other than show us the Rangers CAN fight unmorphed, making the show more credible? Saban should get Yugioh and Saban, and for Christ's sake, bring back Ron Wasserman and Shuki Levy and have them do the music for Yugioh, and also for the next season of Power Rangers!

I just hope Funimation or whoever gets it keeps the voice cast. I don't wanna have to go through another Pokemon Switchover.

Sadly thats true. If these guys can do better than 4kids even a little, and don't over edit, then I don't min dif they get it. Though I watch the sub onine anyways so...... Be great if Viz got it.

Well, whoever gets it better keep the dub voice cast the same. Then again P USA did a good job with Pokemon, and Nickelodeon picked up where 4kids left off with Winx.
