So lets discuss this card and its effect on the game if its un-banned.

To have a discussion on this card we have to remember that this is not 2008 GB format or 2010 Saber Format.

Back then we didn't have hand traps as a staple in all decks to counter plays, we also still had player priority as well.

So taking these points into account...I would like to know your opinion on the potential impact the return of Cold Wave might have on the game....we are to assume that Heavy Storm would be banned if this card was to return.

Well, from what I remember, it was banned because it was used only for OTKs, and instead of attempting to destroy the cards and allowing your opponent to do something to stop their destruction, it just caused them to not be able to use them. My most recent memories of this card are with Zombie Swarm, where they simply didn't need any spells/traps to pull off their combos, and so they could just drop it and laugh.

The one advantage it has over Heavy Storm is that with Heavy you can just set spells/traps after using it, but with this you would also have useless cards on the field. Then again, with this you also don't lose any advantage you might have at the time.

Seriously, there's nothing to discuss. It still does nothing except support OTKs, is terribly designed, and punishes the opposing player for simply playing the game with you.

Hand Traps don't change a thing about how broken this is.

The NPCs in WC11 don't follow the banlist, even though you have to. There is a character in the game who plays 3 Cold Wave and a Giant Trunade in his deck.

This character shows why those cards are on the list.

I'm not arguing that its not broken, it clearly is. But with the current state of the meta...how would this affect that game?

With everyone maining 3 Veiler...stopping a big play is easier than it was back in the day. Lets say your opponent plays Wave and summons TGU/Rabbit you Veiler it they just went -1 and they cant protect themselves. Now take that same play but in place of Wave he uses Storm...even though you Veiler their play..they can still set protection to try and get their play off next turn.

I don't see why we're discussing what a card would be like if unbanned when everyone agrees that it's broken as f*ck and should never come back.

The point of the discussion is to get the opinion of members on how the meta change would IF it came back. I also posted the videos to give you guys a point of view to go off.

I am not asking you weather the card should come back or not...I just wanted to get your opinion on how it would affect the game. That is why I'm trying to have an intelligent discussion about it.
