I'll come right out with it. I'd really want a chatbox here, for the members to use to just discuss things. Appropriate things. It'd really be nice to have it here.

Still the worst YCMember ever.
First, we would actually have to get YCMaker back. Right now, for all we know, he's busy colonizing Mars. Secondly, that's a rather lesser issue, there are many other things that need to be addressed first. Plus, if you want to chat to people, as I've previously said, a lot of people have a MSN, Skype, or both. If you want to chat with one of them, those methods are available. Plus, the status bar serves as a semi-chatroom.

11) Do not request any form of chatroom or shoutbox to be added.
Such a feature has been repeatedly suggested and shot down in the past; they would increase page loading times, be filled with pointless spam, and generally provide nothing of value to the site for which the forums and private messages would not already suffice. If you want to chat in such a manner, go get AIM or MSN or some similar instant messenger and use that.
An old/not active rule that still makes sense. ;]
Plus, chats usually kill board activity.
