how does Skill Drain affect xyz monsters

Xyz monsters have no levels, and cards that deal with levels(Gravity Bind, Super Transform, etc), have no effect/cannot be used on them.

Only if they have an effect that lets them do so, I.E., Utopia.

Xyz Materials are basically counters.
If the monster is removed from the field, the materials just go straight to the Graveyard.
Cards like Quillbolt Hedgehog, Chain Dog, etc, say they are Banished when they are removed from the field after being Summoned in their own way~ Becoming an Xyz Material simply moves them to an unspecified area, and go to the Graveyard regardless.
Cards like Giant Rat, if used as Xyz Material, just go to the Graveyard when detached/the Xyz monster is destroyed, it's effect doesn't happen.
Cards like Dandylion, which specifically say:

Having a Rank rather than a level is not part of the effect, it is a condition of the card in the same way that Skill Drain does not, say, stop Tour Guide having 1000 ATK and being a DARK Level 3 Fiend.

It doesn't affect the ranks, their ATK/DEF (unless their effects changed them otherwise), their Attributes, their Types, their names, their pictures, their sexiness, thei-- Oh, sorry, going off too much on the details. You get the picture, though.
