Golems, Golems Everywhere

Recommended Posts

So I have been using a Catapult Zone/Bull Blader deck and I though to myself, lets us abuse Catapult Zone. So i made these cards.

I like em. Let me go through them 1 by 1:

1. Being an easy 23 beater or 25 defender is pretty nice, and block golem can grab this for xyz plays like making Ptolemys to reuse blocky or bounzer for extreme lockdown. I think this card was made with block golem in mind, and I like that.
2. This is where things start to get iffy... It's a super splashable 25 beater. Alright, that's not god awful given our meta. Then, it summons even MORE splashable 25 beaters to protect itself from card effects, which would be the most common way of getting rid of this thing. Dem mini-loops. If I were you, I'd drop the ATK to 24 and make it send a rock from your hand to the grave to negate its destruction by an effect. Then it's fair.
3. I don't understand why this has so much defense... Defense isn't very viable in our meta. This does nothing except stall with catapult zone, and that decreases the quality of P2P interaction in a duel. Then, it summons stuff. I really think this card would be better as a more offensive monster, with something like 22/26 stats, so it can still be a defender but not a stupid one.
4. I like it! It's not too hard to make with this deck, albeit still moderately difficult, and it rewards you for doing so. The 3k beater ability is nice, and the self-protection is pretty snazzy. However, the second part of the card removal effect is actually pretty negative, because you'll be losing a power s/t card if you use it, and that's never good, so I'd cut that effect out altogether OR just make the card mill 3 as a cost to remove a card.
5. I think it's fair. It does work as a reborn, but its too slow to be much of a problem. Catapult zone could help you turbo through this, but that cards solely defensive, and if you're using it then you're in a bad spot anyways. So yeah, it seems fine to me.

Overall, nice cards, they just need a few tweaks and they'll be good to go. 8/10

So, Catapult Zone + this + all those self-summoning-Rock-banishing cards (Gigastone Omega, Megarock Dragon, Gaia Plate the Earth Giant, etc.) + a whole load of XYZ's = ragequit?

I'm not sure if I'm deeply in love with this or deeply terrified of it. In fact, since my deck making skills are pretty poor, I bet there is even more that I'm missing.

I apologize for the shorter reply, looking for confirmation on this, then I can rate properly, or something.

@altair
The first two you just mentioned are bad and should feel bad. Anyways, the catapult zone combo with these guys wound probably be inconsistent because if you draw into one of them, you're screwed. Given our meta, it's really not that bad. Besides, I'm pretty sure they miss the timing with lightsworns anyways.

Hm. I had totally misread the star number for Megarock and thought it was 6 (never seen it used before).

You can't facilitate that with something? Like Dark World Dealings or something similar?

No, it isn't bad, but considering I'm scared of every deck in the metagame at the moment, yeah...
