Strider Tigerwolf
I've been testing this: Both players start with only 2 cards in their hand. Same Phases occur: Draw Phase 1, Standby Phase, Main Phase 1, Battle Phase, Main Phase 2, End Phase. Then after End Phase: Draw Phase 2. Also, at the End Phase you would discard cards until you have 5 in hand, since you'll max out in Draw Phase 2. If you draw more cards in Draw Phase 2, those stay in your hand (for example activating Jar of Greed or such). So far the implications of this method of dueling seems quite different, with a very strange way of changing speed. At first, it's slow, but as the game progresses, speed increases. But enough of me, what do you guys think?
The Hounds Of Anubis
This is just pointless.
Zazubat
I don't get it, so you don't end your turn at the End Phase, but instead during a Draw Phase?
Strider Tigerwolf
Pretty much. Basically: Draw 1 Do your turn normally End Phase (apply all effects you need too such as Lightsworns/Veiler/etc) Proceed to draw 1 more card during this phase (and play quickplays)
Althemia
So where does the Standby Phase go? After first Draw or second Draw?
Zazubat
Sounds silly, but hey I havn't tried something like this, it might be interesting.
Zazubat
So where does the Standby Phase go? After first Draw or second Draw? I think he just forgot to put it in, as he has stated, everything else happens as normal.
Strider Tigerwolf
XD thanks for catching that Dictator. It's after Draw Phase 1.
D.A._Sakuyamon
I wonder how this would impact chance format. <-<

ihop
Can you Time Seal to make your opponent skip Draw Phase 2? More importantly, does Droll and Lock Bird stop the Draw Phase 2? It can't be errata'd to until the End Phase because it wouldn't negate Judgment.
Strider Tigerwolf
Time Seal skips all their draw phases, so yes, it would include Draw Phase 2. Droll and Lock Bird says "except during the Draw Phase" which would be errated into "Draw Phases", and it would be for the entire turn, not until the End Phase. ihop
DL Bird can't activate in the Draw Phase, it says nothing about not restricting draws in any Draw Phase.
D.A._Sakuyamon
DL Bird can't activate in the Draw Phase, it says nothing about not restricting draws in any Draw Phase. Well of course it doesn't because there isn't a 2nd draw phase in the real game. <-< You just have to use common sense.
Strider Tigerwolf
Droll and Lock Bird just wouldn't stop the "regular draw" from Draw Phase 2. :o That's basically it.

But I'm interested to know whether it would restrict the Draw in the Draw Phase 2 which could go either way, it's not that silly a question. Agro
Well, it'd mean Yata wouldn't be as deadly. I think
Canadian
Reminds me of the format where both players started with 60 card decks and 1 card in hand. Bubbleman and Infernity Randomizer were epic.

Canadian
I am going to see if people want to try this again with the new archetypes. Its been about a year and a half or so since we tried it. EDIT: http://duelistgroundz.com/index.php?showtopic=140580&&page=5 Top deck'n Highlander Format.
Strider Tigerwolf
Well, I may start a mini regular tournament in this way soon...anyone would like to try?
D.A._Sakuyamon
Question, when would the mandatory discard until you have 6 cards in your hand take effect.
Zazubat
When it normally does, at the End Phase. At least that would make the most sense.
D.A._Sakuyamon
When it normally does, at the End Phase. At least that would make the most sense. Here's the problem with that. After the End Phases happens the 2nd Draw Phase happens which means your hand size will go to 7.
Zazubat
Here's the problem with that. After the End Phases happens the 2nd Draw Phase happens which means your hand size will go to 7. So? You still discard a card. If this is suppose to be a new way to play, let it be as such. I don't suggest that it should be changed. But that's just my 2 cents.
