It looks like at least they tried to come down on all of the decks they expected to be top. I guess they came down on traps a lot because they banned Heavy Storm, and... well, I'm just very surprised. evilfusion Posted August 21, 2013 Report Share Posted August 21, 2013 Honestly, I don't hate this list. There's a TON of changes, but they're not horrible, and it's only until December. Baby Rulers and Spellbook are GREAT, because I was so glad they got banned in the OCG, and they at least followed that much. Stratos...I don't get it, but it lets them unlimit Malicious, A Hero Lives, and E - Emergency Call, which is fine with me. They banned Reborn and Heavy Storm, but I note they learned their lesson about Six Sams in that horrid format by banning Gateway, too. I'm sad, but at the same time, I'm not sad. Storm is a necessary evil, but I can see this experiment proving to be interesting. Monster Reborn, I love, but hate. Pot of Avarice makes me super sad, but I'll live. Number 16 deserved it. Card Destruction is a good ban, as is Judgment, because Judgment is too good of a protection card. Rejuvenation just hurts Rulers more, and Ultimate Offering hits Gadgets. This is smart, because backrow heavy Decks like Gadgets would love Storm being gone to go nuts. I'm not really bothered by ANY of the limits. They're either good choices (Rabbit) or stomping on staples to promote diversity (Torrential/Compulsory). With Storm gone, hitting the backrow staples is wise. We don't want a Set 5 format that has extremely consistent removal cards like Compulsory. Semi-Limits return Zombies to power, and TG and Agents. Good. The unlimits only make sense when you notice Stratos is banned. I really like the list. It hit cards I hate, weakened already deadly deads to a degree (Diva), and allows for a lot more Decks to return or try to regain power. I'm very eager to see where this goes. Slow everything down to the original style of "Set stuff and slow-roll it out" before, possibly, slowly bringing back a handful of cards at a time, to both take the game in a different direction, while also seeing what cards are truly powerful in a slower format.
