Night Posted March 24, 2014 Report Share Posted March 24, 2014 It's been in my head for quite a while and has been brought up here and there quite a bit in the past but never fully conceptualized. I've personally been meaning to get around to uploading some Showcase-related video/audio, this is pretty much just an excuse to do so. If people are intrigued by the idea of video content then I'd say it's worth a shot. Don't really want to go into specifics and make organizing it a huge fuss at this very moment since at it's core it should just be about showcasing member created content in a different form for enjoyment. As such, the handling of the account and the content that is produced should be conceptualized only after we decide we want to go ahead with the channel. Thoughts? We have a similar thing over at Metroid Construction where some members get together and discuss contests/ stream games, then put them on Youtube. Indeed a good representation of what could be showcased. Seeing as this is a yugioh forum, it's only fitting that content related to said game be presented. Although I see it as being a small part of a much larger spectrum of entertainment. Get some people together and do stuff. Pretty much exactly what I want done. You and another member plan on playing a game together? Record it, make a let's play of it and then upload it to the channel for the entire forum's enjoyment. I want it to be used as a tool for shaping the community, getting people involved with one another and producing new content in a different way. Not just YGO, but other stuff like CFV since we a small community for that, and a good number of people seem to like that Hearthstone game. Also, anime discussion since pretty much everybody watches anime here. Then, there's music, gaming like I mentioned previously, the clubs, etc. There's a lot that can be done on a YT channel to represent this forum. If so we should have at least 2-3 mods to manage the account so that one isnt overloaded with requests. I can imagine someone making a voice walkthrough of their custom cards deck, or two people dueling. Or showcase creations (Renji showcases his GFX creations in Youtube a lot over cool music, so its not a bad concept) We can even plan for a weekly YCM news show XDD I like this.
