Posted again. Next bit of OOC buisness is to clean up the cast library and put the Player character mecha together, so expect that soonish.

Also a reminder for anyone who might be interested in joining/returning, Synchro Frame is always accepting applications, and we'd be overjoyed to have more RPers involved.

EDIT: Trilobite has also been added to the Terra Firma Mecha library.

[spoiler=Description]

The Two-mode Combat Frame is a series of Frame that was designed mainly for high-speed aerial combat. Originally, Avalon was one of the many mass-produced ones, but Adel's personal touch had made it into a far more dangerous machine in the battlefield.

Appearance-wise, it was made to be sleeker and more aerodynamic, with the emphasis on agility and elegance. Though effectively, this Combat Frame packed quite a lot of heat even compared to Synchro Frames, and pretty much more agile than many of them, with the Alter/System just cranking these aspects even higher. Though, the fact that this is not supported by the AMS system dampened it from its true potential, as Adel's reaction time, however fine tuned with experience and skill it is, is no match from AMS supported aces.

During her time in the Shells not long after Leo joined TRAP, Adel installed an optional Extra Pack to her frame for extended, long distance operations.

[spoiler=Armaments and Special Equipment]

Base Armaments

  • 2 Medium Class rapid-fire Plasma Gun: Mounted on its back, it was originally designed to fire normal bullets, but Adel rigged it and turned it into firing superheated plasma.
  • Anti-battleship Heavy-Class Plasma Cannon "Excalibur": Designed to take out battleships in one shot, Excalibur is more like an ace in the hole for Adel due to how much energy it takes to fire each full-powered shot using it, enough to actually drain the entire energy of the Frame. Most of the time it's stored inside the main ship, and will only be drawn when necessary due to it limiting Avalon's transformation ability.
  • Two Medium-Class Plasma Rifle "Caliburn": The main weapons of Avalon, designed for easy use and doesn't drain too much energy. Also doubles as thrusters when in Fighter Mode.
  • Twelve  micro-missile launchers: Two exit ports in each engine pod and 4 exit ports in each conformal armament pods. Maximum of 50 missiles normally, but it could load more with the price of mobility. Small missiles are equipped with the shoulders and sides of the legs. Leg missiles can separate from the center into 2 blocks, and can be launch missiles up to 270-degrees.
  • Two standard-issue arm-mounted Plasma Sabers: Standard issue, really. Nothing much to be said.
  • SF-D "Alter/Frame" System: SynchroFrame-Destroyer, a system that was built in to counteract the opponent's SF units. When in the presence of an unregistered Synchro Brainwave, the system will start overworking the internal reactors to increase the parameters of the Frame to a whole new height at the cost of the Frame's stability and energy consumption. While normally this would give a Combat Frame the capability of standing on a somewhat equal footing to an Synchro Frame one-by-one, in the hands of the experience and reflex of Adelheid and her extensively customized Frame, she could overwhelm Synchro Frames with relative ease. This mode only lasts for around 5-10 minutes before it drains Avalon's energy completely.
  • X-wing Solar Panel System: Avalon's wings can open up and reveal an emergency solar panel system that took form as four additional "wings" that formed the X-shape.

Extra Pack

  • Four Detachable Extra Boosters + Internal reactors
  • Four Wired Detachable Wing-mounted Missile Pods: Containing 15 micro missiles in each. When detached, Adelheid still retains control of their aiming system, which allows her to use them to strike at her opponents from varying angles. It's not exactly a wire-guided missile pods, and the wires themselves are simply a way for Adelheid to be able to retrieve the pods after she detached them.
  • Two Nacelle-mounted Hi-Plasma Cannons: Only usable when in Fighter Mode. Using the power from the additional internal reactors.

[spoiler=Description]Designed as both a high performance combat unit and a testbed for new weapons systems, the SFS-09X Canis is the first Synchro Frame to be constructed exclusively for use by TRAP. Taking its codename from the two dog ear-like fins on its head, the Canis's thin frame stands out from its typically bulkier Synchro Frame brethren. The Canis is built for speed, featuring ultra-lightweight, heat-resistant composite armor and an aerodynamic design. In addition, the body itself is constructed in such a way as to allow for the maximum freedom of movement, and as a result the Canis does not have many of the features normally associated with the silhouette of a frame like skirt armor and bulky joint plating. The purpose of this design ethic is twofold: Firstly, this allows for the Canis's whopping 22 thrusters to be incorporated directly into the armor plating, meaning they are both protected, and placed in such a way that they can more easily assist the frame in combat maneuvers while leaving the heat-resistant armor undamaged. Second, this allows for both ease of repair an maintenance, as well as the inclusion of several hardpoints for the storage of weapons and mounting additional equipment, allowing the Canis to adapt to any conceivable mission role, as well as easily mount new equipment for combat testing purposes.

Though it can handle any mission role, the Canis's primary function is that of a high-speed assault unit, a role that it excels at. Though there are examples of frames that can outrun it, the Canis's design, coupled with the high reaction times produced by is AMS, allows it to perform complex maneuvers at its top speed, meaning that it can out-maneuver any machine capable of keeping up with it. This gives the Canis an unprecedented advantage in combat, where it is able to move at blisteringly high speeds while maintaining the maneuverability that other frames lose when accelerating to their maximum thrust.

Of course, the Canis's high performance comes at the cost of its durability. Due to its construction and lightweight armor, the Canis is unable to take the amount of damage that its more heavily armored brethren can, and as a result is forced to rely on its speed ad maneuverability to avoid damage. As well, its design and combat role make the Canis rather difficult to pilot, requiring excellent pilot reflexes as well as the fortitude to handle the excessive G-forces that its high-speed maneuvers can generate.

[spoiler=Armaments & Equipment Information]Weapons marked with an * are optional/testbed weapons.

  • Enhanced Optics- Though the Canis's optical sensors appear to be a rather typical visor-type setup, in actuality it mounts two separate optical systems. The first is what is known as a mono-eye setup, which takes up the central portion of the Canis's visor and is used for long-range magnification. The second is a bifocal system that takes up the side portions of the visor, and acts in much the same way as similar systems on close-range oriented Frames such as the Drachenrand and Wukong. Both systems can be used independently of each other or together to allow the Canis to have excellent vision no matter the distance tot eh target or the peed of the frame, making the Canis both an adept scouting unit as well as frighteningly accurate at most ranges and speeds.
  • Enhanced Motive System- Thanks to its unique design, the Canis's motive system allows it to move its limbs with a much greater degree of freedom than most other frames, making it capable of movements that are impossible for humans as well as many other frames, as well as allowing it to perform limb movements extremely quickly, which is very helpful given the amount of hardpoints and potential equipment it can carry.
  • "Thruster Strike"- While not necessarily a weapon, the Canis possesses thrusters mounted on its wrists, as well as in it knees, which it can use to enhance the force of any physical strikes it can deliver.
  • Fang Rifles- The Canis's main weapons, the Fang Rifles are a pair of plasma rifles that fire large-sized plasma bolts. What makes the Fang Rifles unique is their high rate of fire (they are technically automatic, though they fire at speeds that fall somewhere in between semi-auto and full-auto weapons) as well as their durability, being tough enough to block solid projectiles and parry non-plasma melee weapons while still remaining fully functional. The fang rifles are stored on recharge slots on either side of the Canis's Strike Shield, adding to its defensive coverage when attached.
  • Strike Shield- The Canis's Primary means of defense, as well as one of its melee weapons, the Strike Shield is a thin, durable shield that mounts an internal generator for recharging the Canis's Fang Rifiles and Plasma saber, and also stores those weapons when not in use. The front end of the Strike Shield is sharpened to a blade, and this combined with the shield's durability and the Canis's wrist-mounted thrusters makes the Strike Shield a surprisingly effective melee weapon. Because it is a very essential piece of equipment, the Strike Shiled is built durable enough to withstand hits from plasma weaponry, and it is even capable of parrying plasma blades. When not attached to the Cani's wrist, the Strike Shield can be attached to any one of the Canis's hardpoints (though it is usually attached to the rear hardpoint to act as a stabilizer/tail binder) and asa result it is possible for the Canis to sortie with multiple Strike shields, should more be constructed.
  • Plasma Saber- The Canis's Primary melee weapon, the Plasma Saber is stored within the Strike Shield when not in use, and is capable of cutting through most armor with ease.

New Machine(s) for Owen. Rough Draft, waiting for cnc and stuff.

[spoiler=Oni]

Unit Model Number & Name: SFS-04v.s 'Oni'

Unit Type: Base Frame

Faction(s): SAF (TRAP)

Pilot(s)/Crew: Owen Bell

Overall height: 14.2 meters

Top Speed: 240 km/h (walking)/Mach 1.35 (flying)

[spoiler=Image(s)]

(Default)

(Arm Cannon Deployed)

(ICD/ACS Deactivated)

[spoiler=Description]

A prototype variant of Canis, repurposed and restored to replace Owen's Nakahi.

The frame was originally designed to be the current Canis, and thus it incorporates a lot of Canis's current frame infrastructure. However, due to weight limitations and design constraints, the design was canned and placed into storage for future testing and development. It didn't have nearly as many boosters as the modern Canis carries, and had heavier armor, leading to a substantially heavier and less agile frame, though it can take a heavier beating.

However, a recent revelation in Artificial Combat Simulation (ACS) systems gave Oni a new purpose: a test bed for Integrated Combat Drones (ICD). With a newly inducted TRAP pilot in need of a new Synchro Frame, it was the perfect opportunity to field test their new designs.

Despite it's relative inferiority to Canis, Oni still keeps some of it's traits, including increased reaction times and spot-on movement mimicking. This is only increased with the extra information provided by the ICD/ACS.

[spoiler=Armaments & Equipment Information]

• ICD/ACS Combat Visor: A scanning device that feeds more advanced information to the frame's ICD. Also provides extra information to the pilot for use. Data includes enemy frame specs/conditions, including speed, armaments, and current damage level, among many other data categories. Deactivated by rotating the head 180°, revealing the Standard Visor on the back.

• Magmoor Cannons: Integrated and concealed 120mm Autocannons. Fires high-speed high-explosive proximity-activated projectiles from an internal magazine. Two can be deployed at once. When not in use, they are retracted into the arm, and are replaced by fully-functioning hands.

• Plasma Daggers: Short plasma blades used for CQC. Hidden in leg compartments. Nothing special about them.

• Compartmental Boosters: A Post-Storage addition to Oni, taking advantage of the many hidden compartments it has. In addition to the two primary boosters on the back, an additional 6 boosters are concealed all across the frame, revealing themselves when in use and hiding just as fast.

[spoiler=Tengu]

Unit Model Number & Name: UACD-X.OS.32 'Tengu'

Unit Type: Combat Drone

Faction(s): SAF (TRAP)

Pilot(s)/Crew: N/A

Overall height: 10.9 meters

Top Speed: 340 km/h (walking)/Mach 1.45 (flying)

[spoiler=Image(s)]

(Base Form)

(Scythes and Missile Tubes Deployed)

[spoiler=Description]

Artificial Intelligence technology has been slow going, despite the innovations that were created for Synchro Frames in terms of automatic function. However, a recent breakthrough in intelligence operation led to the development of the Artificial Combat Simulation (ACS) system. Through a highly complex web of systems, the ACS lets Unmanned Drones operate completely separately from an operator, only relying on basic initial instructions provided by a human to function. Commands are interpreted through the information either gathered from the field or from humans in the field, meaning an ACS drone does operate best when used in conjunction with a human.

In an effort to improve the effectiveness of Synchro Frames through drone support, the Integrated Combat Drone (ICD) chassis was developed. Housing an ACS unit and additional programs that let it communicate directly with the AMS of a Synchro Frame, its design demanded speed, compactness, and a plethora of weapons to support a Synchro Frame effectively.

While capable of moving at numbing ground speeds and highly efficient airspeeds, the design ended up being a whopping 10 meters tall, just for an unmanned drone. Due to the size and potency needed for the generator, it could only fit a paltry number of weapons as well. However, due to it being more of a proof-of-concept, it was deployed regardless, being paired with a recently reactivated and re-designated Canis chassis.

[spoiler=Armaments & Equipment Information]

• High-Capacity Plasma Cannon: Mounted on top of the machine, with the on-board sensor and camera attached on the tip of the barrel. A powerful and rapid-firing plasma gun, it takes up an unfortunately large amount of energy. If standing on the ground, it can fire at its maximum rate for tremendous effect.

• Heated Scythes: Two hidden scythes that fold out from the body, replacing the pincers. Can be done on the fly. Meant more for gripping or piercing rather than slicing. Can penetrate thick materials to get a grip on, or specifically target important parts of a machine.

• Long-Range Missile Tubes: Two sets of missile tubes that fold into the leg, with one on each side. Each tube carries two missiles approximately half the length of a tube. They travel far and carry a high-capacity explosive payload, along with anti-armor flak and a proximity sensor. Cannot turn very sharply, limiting close quarters use.

• Afterburner: Along with an assortment of boosters, the Plasma Cannon carries a powerful afterburner on the aft-end. While it usually is running at half-capacity, once running at max, it gives an incredible boost of speed to the machine, hitting nearly Mach 2 at the cost of not being able to turn at all. The drone will automatically use this to escape to the nearest base when it begins to take took much damage, even if doing so will destroy the machine in the process.

• Pincers: Basic manipulators. Can lift very heavy weights, though it cannot do much once holding them. Used in the combination process with Oni when rearranging parts.

[spoiler=Daitengu]

Unit Model Number & Name: SFS-04v.s/ICD.v 'Daitengu'

Unit Type: Combination Frame

Faction(s): SAF (TRAP)

Pilot(s)/Crew: Owen Bell

Overall height: 14.2 meters

Top Speed: 230 km/h (walking)/Mach 1.50 (flying)

[spoiler=Image(s)]

(Basic)

(In-Flight)

[spoiler=Description]

As part of the proposed design, a Synchro “Base” Frame and an ICD can combine into a greater whole, when the need rises. In a process taking about 2 minutes, the ICD strips itself of many vital components and installs them on the Base Frame, rearranging items on the Base frame as well. The result is a much more powerful and capable Synchro Frame, leaving the ICD as no more than an scout, which, in Tengu's case, isn't even capable, as the ICD loses it's visual sensor.

Oni and Tengu combine into a machine known as 'Daitengu.' Tengu relocates the hidden arm cannons to the back of the machine, and attaches the Plasma Cannon and Afterburner to the bottom of the right arm, now feeding off of the more powerful Synchro Frame generator. Extra armor pieces and boosters are additionally attached to various points across the machine, improving both armor and agility. With the addition of Tengu's visual unit now hooked directly into the AMS, the use of the ICD/ACS Combat Visor is no longer needed, freeing up more RAM for combat simulations.

Tengu, on the other hand, is capable of operating if given a direct order from information gathered from Daitengu. It maintains its missile payloads and scythes, but is incapable of using either effectively. However, with a few on-board systems left, Tengu can be turned into a stationary missile turret, firing at targets designated as “enemy” so long as it has missiles left. It still has proximity avoidance systems installed, so it is capable of avoiding medium-range enemy attacks, if only to a mediocre degree.

While powerful, this form cannot be maintained for an infinite amount of time, as the presence of the extra parts means that the generator is now at a net-loss. It also defeats the purpose of having two separate units and the advantages gained through that, so it is generally only recommended to form Daitengu in situations in which a drone would be useless, or a more powerful Frame is required.

Once Daitengu is no longer required, it travels down to Tengu and activates the reconstruction protocol, returning every part to their right places on both machine. While this process can be accomplished solely through the actions of the Frame's pilot, not only does it take an incredibly longer amount of time, it's also easy to mess up, and the frame lacks the dexterity to reach and install on some parts of itself.

[spoiler=Armaments & Equipment Information]

• Magmoor Cannons: Now situated in the back. Capable of firing simaltenously.

• High-Capacity Plasma Cannon: Now installed on the right arm. While incapable of firing as fast as when on Tengu, the shots are more powerful. Comes with the visual scanner of Tengu.

• Afterburner + Extra Boosters: Improves agility exponentially, allowing for more advanced maneuvers.

• Armor Plating + Shoulder Shield: For a defensive boost, some of Tengu's armor playing has been placed on various points of Daitengu, including a large shield on the left shoulder.

[spoiler=Evette Fontaine]

Name: Evette Fontaine

Age: 22

Gender: Female

Faction: SAF (TRAP)

Occupation: Frame Pilot

[spoiler=Appearance]fYseSL1.jpg

Evette looks incredibly young for her age, standing at only 5' 3" and being quite thin. Though she's in her 20's Evette much more closely resembles a girl in her early teens, with a soft, pale complexion and a round, incredibly cute face. Aside from her apparent age, her most striking feature is her hair, which, quite contrary to SAF regulations, runs all the way down to the back of her thighs. When not in uniform Evette prefers stylish, feminine clothing like sweaters and skirts, though the one part of her wardrobe that usually remains constant is her hat, which was a gift from her late sister. Being a former fashion model, Evette sometimes walks with a rather noticeable strut, though she usually does so reflexively and is generally unaware of it. Her measurements are 29-23-32.

[spoiler=Personality]Outwardly coy, flirtatious, and playful, Evette seems to be a bit of a ditz at first glance. In reality however,  she is much more perceptive than she lets on, putting up a nonthreatening front in order to make those around her more malleable. In reality, Evette is extremely manipulative, hyper-observant, and is often prone to fits of anger. She makes constant use of her charm to get what she wants from others, and is not above manipulating people to suit her own ends. That being said, calling Evette self-centered and callous would be wrong. Quite the contrary in fact, she is capable of a great deal of empathy (provided the person in question isn't Terran), and she is ever willing (not to mention quite able) to manipulate others for the benefit of others. That isn't to say that Evette isn't out for herself, because she is, but she can, and often does, feel for others on an emotional level.

Beneath her persona and all the manipulation, however, Evette is lonely and hurting. Still reeling from the loss of her family, she's unwilling to open up to people, or even admit to herself that she desires companionship. Consequently, when someone does begin to get close to her, she'll push them away, only to try and vie for their attention again once she's done so. This cycle often strains her relationships, and as a result she tends not to keep friends for very long. Despite her problems though, Evette has a great deal of self confidence, both in her looks and in her piloting abilities. She's a bit of a glory hound, and is willing to disobey orders if she believes doing so will bring victory or fame.

Evette is also violently prejudiced against anyone who lives on the surface, in part due to her upbringing in the shells and dramatically heightened by the loss of her family at the beginning of the war. Her hatred extends to the battlefield, where she takes an unnerving amount of pleasure in scoring kills.

[spoiler=Biography]The eldest child and heiress to the Fontaine family fortune, Evette's childhood was one of comfort and luxury. Evette's father was a member of SAF parliament, and her mother a prominent businesswoman. Though both were often busy and their occupations necessitated moving between Shells rather frequently, they made a point of spending time with their two daughters whenever they could. As a result Evette's early childhood was a comfortable, though somewhat isolated one, having spent a great deal of her time with her younger sister Stella.

At age 11, Evette began her modeling career at the behest of her mother. She thoroughly enjoyed it, and though her career was slow to take off, by the age of 15 she had made quite a name for herself; appearing in teen fashion magazines and even making a few television appearances. Evette adored the attention and adulation, and as she grew older she became something of a media darling. Had she continued, she could very well have become a major celebrity.

Unfortunately, her life was to take a different course. Evette's entire family was among the 18 million civilian casualties of Terra Firma's bombardment of Shell Eden, Evette herself having only been spared due to being on the opposite rim of Eden for an event. After taking a few months to grieve, Evette enlisted with SAF. Though originally placed in a non-combat role assisting government sponsored citizen morale campaigns, Evette soon demanded that she be placed on the front lines, ultimately bribing and persuading her way into a combat frame squadron.

She soon proved her worth however, achieving the status of ace in just two months of combat and becoming one of SAF's most talented pilots by January 2220. Later that year, she was found to be AMS-compatible, and she was moved away from the front lines and into a test pilot position on the expanding SFS-09X project. Given the second completed 09-2 model Synchro Frame, Evette was transferred to active combat duty in October after the completion of the entire 09-2 test battery. She was then assigned to TRAP at the request of Thomas Renner, who was in need of replacement pilots for the unit.

Machine: SFS-09-2/2R Cabernet

[spoiler=Skills/Specializations]

  • High Speed Combat- Evette's forte, she does best with a fast and maneuverable machine, relying on her own superior piloting skill instead of advanced weaponry.
  • Hyper-observant- Evette is unnaturally perceptive, so much so that she is able to pick out minute details and recall specific events with startling accuracy. This helps her immensely on the battlefield, where she is able to make extremely accurate shots and excel in a reconnaissance role.

[spoiler=Misc. info]Theme- Scope Eye

[spoiler=SFS-09-2/2R Cabernet]

Unit Model Number & Name: SFS-09-2/2R Cabernet

Unit type: High Speed Reconnaissance Synchro Frame

Faction(s): SAF

Pilot(s)/crew: Evette Fontaine

Overall Height: 15.15 meters

Top Speed: 260 km/h (walking)/ Mach 1.5 (Flying)

[spoiler=Image(s)]fe842ffa-s.jpg

[spoiler=Description]The SFS-09-2/2R Cabernet is the second Synchro frame in the 09-2 series: the first wave of prototype machines based on the SFS-09X Canis testbed. While still synchro frames, the 09-2's were constructed using standardized parts derived from the 09X, and then customized to suit their pilots' needs after construction. As a result, though their combat roles vary, their appearance and base capabilities very closely resemble those of the Canis.

In the Cabernet's case, the numerous thrusters and hardpoints of the original 09X have been removed in favor of additional lightweight armor plating. Though this results in the loss of some of the maneuverability and dexterity of the 09X, the 09-2/2R makes up for this with much greater durability than its fragile predecessor, all the while still retaining most of the Canis's high speed. The innovative optics of the 09X have also been expanded upon and developed into a new, more efficient compound eye system, which allows for similar, if not superior performance than that of the 09X while making use of a single optical system. The new optics also allow for more armor to be mounted on the head, ensuring a greatly reduced chance of a loss of vision during combat.

Befitting its role as a scout unit, the Cabernet comes equipped with a highly advanced sensor suite, which boasts a far greater range than most contemporary combat frame radar units, and also comes equipped with analysis equipment advanced enough to detect even the minute anomalies produced by SAF's own Sensor Disruption System. This combined with the Cabernet's unique AMS-linked communications system allows it to provide incredibly detailed and up to date information to its allies in real time.

[spoiler=Armaments & Equipment Information]

  • Sensor Suite- Built into the Cabernet's backpack is the most advanced frame-mounted detection and analysis system ever built. Possessing capabilities similar to that of a radome equipped AWACS aircraft, the Cabernet can precisely identify enemy contacts within a 15 km radius, and can also detect sensor anomalies given off by all known frame-based stealth systems, even including SAF's own cutting edge SDS. The drawback, however, is that the sensor suite has immense power requirements, which prevents the Cabernet from equipping any fixed weaponry.
  • AMSComm- The Cabernet's Laser-based communications system is linked directly to its AMS, allowing its pilot to modify and annotate any data the machine transmits to allies with a thought. This allows for much more detailed information to be transmitted in much less time than usual.
  • Compound Optics- A development of the 09X Canis's own optical systems, the Cabernet's compound optics provide a similar level of performance in a more compact package, allowing greater energy efficiency and a more heavily armored head.
  • Multi-modal Plasma Rifle-  The Cabernet's main armament, the multi-modal plasma rifle is a large bore plasma rifle that is effective at medium and long range. What makes it unique, however, is that it mounts its own miniature ST drive and computer software, which allows the pilot to alter the size and effective distance of the rifle's plasma bolts to fit the combat situation. Smaller bolts are more effective at closer ranges, and allow for a higher rate of fire, while larger bolts can cover a greater distance and deal more damage.
  • Plasma saber- Identical to the plasma saber found in the 09X Canis's strike shield, the Cabernet's plasma saber is stored on the barrel of its plasma rifle, where it is recharged by the rifle's ST drive.  The Plasma Saber can either be used as a handheld weapon or a bayonet.
