The Necloth of Gungnir (グングニールの影霊衣)

Level 7/WATER

Warrior/Ritual/Effect

You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Necloth" Ritual Spell Card. Must be Ritual Summoned and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. During either player's turn, if a "Necloth" monster you control would be destroyed by a card effect: You can discard this card; that monster cannot be destroyed until the End Phase. You can discard 1 card: Target 1 or 2 cards on the field; destroy those targets. You can only use each effect of "The Necloth of Gungnir" once per turn.

ATK 2500 / DEF 1700

Basically, the Necloth version of the other Ice Barrier dragon that didn't get a confirmed one [at the time of posting this; might be one later]. Since the original Gungnir destroyed cards on the field, this one does something similar to it.

So yeah, CnC.

(P.S. I didn't see the other one below this section when making this; but we have different takes on it.)

Fix Log

- Scrapped the discard/nuke effect for a protection effect for Necloths.

- Added a small hand discard for its destruction effect.

It would be cool if making written Necloths became a fad.

Anyways, the discard effect is ridiculous; discard for a +1, kills any monster and S/T, is a Quick Effect, and is not even related to Necloths (doesn't need them nor support them) so you could simply splash 3 of these in any deck. Really, you should scrap this effect and go for a Necloth support effect such as protecting 1 Necloth from destruction, adding 1  banished Necloth to the hand, etc.

The second effect is fine, but I think you should spice it up a bit.

By the way, a Necloth of Gungnir was already done by another YCM member.

We can only guess what the new Necloths will be based on; given the DT monsters. I haven't exactly been reading the storylines on the Wikia.

Anyway, I'll change first effect to a protection effect or something; maybe block a card effect from hitting a Necloth you already got (some protection from Mirror Force, Torrential, Exciton, 101 [considering most of them are SS only monsters]).

Not sure how to make the second effect better, aside from upping the amount of stuff it can take out; but then I have to put in some form of cost. Or I could have it attack the hand; but that pushes it close to what Trishula does [though not exactly].

As for the other member, I didn't see it until later; but I did put the disclaimer below afterwards.

First effect is bonkers. It becomes a splashable +1 that can be used in almost any situation. Second effect is also a bit too good and costless for my tastes.

Yeah, think I'm going to screw that effect and give an anti-destruction effect for Necloths. (I had forgotten to support them while making it; focused too much on retaining the original monster's effects in it, while adapting it somewhat).

I considered giving a discard cost, but then we have Atlanteans to worry about for abusing it for their effects. Then again, keeping a discard cost does retain some of the old flavor, so I'll add one. (Though Voltex said the effect is okay though, but needs to be powered up).

I'll just use my judgment and put a small hand cost to tone it down.
