[Sakura] The Necloth of Dewloren

ドゥローレンの影霊衣
(Durōren no Nekurosu)

Level 6 / WATER / Warrior/ Ritual / Effect

ATK 2000 / DEF 1400

You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Necloth" Ritual Spell Card. Must be Ritual Summoned using monsters other than "The Necloth of Dewloren" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can discard this card; target 1 of your banished "Necloth" Monster Cards, except "The Necloth of Dewloren", and if you do, add it to the hand. You can only activate this effect of "The Necloth of Dewloren" once per turn. When a "Necloth" monster you control battles an opponent's monster: It gains 500 ATK until the end of the Damage Step.

So basically, I decided to make a Necloth version of the Ice Barrier's other Synchro. Yeah, the DT storyline doesn't really mention him, but it needs one since the dragons got one each.

  • Discard effect allows you to recover banished Necloths (either their Rituals or the monsters themselves), which works somewhat in conjunction with Kaleidomirror.
  • On-field effect is essentially a small pump for other Necloths when they battle a monster; amount is similar to what the original Dewloren gains per card when it bounces a card (you control).

Anyway, CnC please.

Reps will be given to properly written reviews.

This card seems a little too powerful for its own good. Adding 1 would be powerful enough, but 2? It can even add itself, which is always an issue, since you can easily loop it that way. They already have Unicore for the Graveyard, though this is way better since it grabs 2 cards. Another problem is that it makes you able to basically banish Exomirror and another copy of itself each turn and grab itself from the Deck and a Ritual Spell Card, grab the banished version of itself and what you just banished. It's on field effect, while not the best, still is pretty good and makes Unicore harder to get over. It being Level 6 also means that you can use it for Brionac while in the Graveyard with Exomirror to set itself up to grab itself as well. It's the only one that lacks the Level/except itself clause, which makes it way easier to actually Summon. I would reduce it to only be able to get 1 banished card, and it must be a monster that is not itslef and give it the clause of "Must be Ritual Summoned by using monsters other than "The Necloth of Dewloren".

I originally had it discard self, add 2 Necloths besides it, but require you to banish the same amount of cards from hand.

Don't know why I forgot to add the "except itself" clause, like most of the other Necloth Rituals have, but it's there now.

Fixes have been made accordingly though.

It can still grab the Ritual Spells, but eh, I guess that's fine.

Right now, they only have Kaleidomirror and that other one; but they have ways of returning themselves to hand and fueling more Necloths to be Ritual Summoned.

I forgot to put the monster restriction on it when I made the edits; guess I'll do that now and fix the OCG a bit while I'm at it.

But if it's okay as is, guess I'll leave it that way. Hopefully Konami doesn't make another Ritual for them, but they might.

(Would be great if there was a suitable pic that could be used for it; otherwise I could try my hand at drawing one, then move this to main RC when finished.)
