Equip this card to a Spellcaster-Type monster you control. Once per turn, during your turn, activate one of these effects based upon the number of monsters your opponent controls.
* 0: Destroy this card and the equipped monster.
* 1: Destroy this card.
* 2: The equipped monster gains 300 ATK.
* 3: The equipped monster 1000 ATK
* 4: The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK and cannot be destroyed by battle.
* 5:  Destroy all monsters on the field. Then, you can special summon (from your hand) 1 level 4 or lower monster in defense position.

Allow me to help.

Equip this card only to a Spellcaster-Type monster you control. Once per turn, during your turn, activate one of these effects based upon This card gains the following effect depending on the number of monsters your opponent controls.
* 0: Destroy this card and the equipped monster.
* 1: Destroy this card.
* 2: The equipped monster gains 300 ATK.
* 3: The equipped monster 1000 ATK
* 4: The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK and cannot be destroyed by battle.
* 5: Once per turn: You can activate this effect; destroy all monsters on the field, then you can Special Summon (from your hand) 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand in face-up Defense Position.

So, your opponent needs to control at least 2 monsters to have this card actually do something, but then all you get out of that is a paltry 300 ATK increase. 3 to 4 puts it on par with Axe of Despair, while 5 eliminates the entire boost but lets you boardwipe - assuming your opponent actually lets you do that.

As mentioned a few posts earlier, just Axe of Despair outclasses this card in most situations, especially since it can freely equip to any monster.
