Feeling kinda down

Not sure if this is where to post this so sorry.

Just been feeling like this site is kind of worthless. I mean I enjoy helping people with their cards and such but I'll work days/weeks on some and get zero replies/feedback. I don't want it to sound like I'm being a cry baby (just wanting to address this). But I feel like the only way to get recognized is to hold a contest or make either a single card that is either so bad people keep posting about it or occasionally on a good card. I just have so many ideas for cards/archetypes, and try to reply and help people with their cards, but feel like what's the point if I'm not going to get any kind of feedback in return?

I have the exact same problem, buddy.

When it comes to custom cards and archetypes, it's extremely hit or miss whether someone will start up any good conversation that isn't pointless nitpicking. Tell you what- I'll look at yours if you check out mine (I especially want attention given to my "Combat" cards, the "GameChild" set, and the "True HERO" cards).

As bizarre as it sounds, try RPing. If you legitimately want supportive conversation, we take care of out own down there.

The site isn't as active as it used to be, and a lot of us don't have the time or energy to look through and critique whole archetypes of cards. You're best bet is to post singles if you're looking for feedback. Otherwise, hop into another section of the forum  and post there. Join in on the conversation and become part of the community. It will make your time spent here feel more worthwhile. I recommend multimedia, where we talk about games and tv and whatnot, or rping if you fancy yourself a writer. TCG is awesome as well if you play trading card games enough.

As Zai already mentioned, while we'd like for YCM's activity to go back to how it was in the old days; we have to accept that those days are long past.

In terms of multiples, it depends on how many cards you post in one thread; someone of us don't like grading sets b/c it takes a while to do so.

(However, it is perfectly acceptable to CnC only on a select few at a time, then deal with the rest in later replies)

Singles are more likely to get you some form of review; I think most people can handle grading a single card. Otherwise, an optimal amount would be 2-3 at the most for Multiples. I understand the feeling though. (Probably one of the reasons I left for 21 months at the end of 2011; for similar reasons to what you posted above)

The other section things were already elaborated on by last two posters, so I won't say much. You'll probably find somewhere else that'll keep your interest in here.

(Might also help if we design some form of incentive for people who take the time to review cards.)

Thanks for the replies guys :)

I left for a few months earlier this year for the same reason, just didn't feel much use for the site.

And I have been only posting a few cards, on the mutli card thread, to try to get some replies before posting more but oh well I guess people don't like my style lol

I will definitely look into the planning thread.
