CLG Klavier
So, seeing as the first attempt at this didn't go too well due to lots of factors (mainly the host disappearing, RIP in peperonis Digital), I figured we can try giving it another shot, with a more solid host this time around. /humbleSo what is this? For people who don't know - CCG means 'created card game', and that's what we're going for here - creating our own custom MTG environment to play in. We get to make cards, and play cards. Twice the fun! How? Luckily, MTG is a very comfortable place for such a project - there are multiple tools available for us to make this a smooth, enjoyable experience. Cockatrice is a popular MTG simulator that has an open structure, which allows for adding custom cards if you fiddle around a little. Multiverse is a replica of a database of the same name used by Wizards of the Coast themselves, giving a possibility of multiple people working on a set, commenting on cards, suggesting fixes etc. (Links to be added)Who? CLG Klavier
Since the topic of set structure will pop up sooner or later, I propose the following: Split sets in 2. So instead of working on an entire 254 card sets, we'd be parallely working on two 127 card ones. End result is the same, but it keeps things fresher, more interesting and allows us to be a bit more creative.

Rodrigo
Hmmm, that sounds like it makes our work simpler and cleaner, I like the idea :
CLG Klavier
We can do stuff like: -"duel" sets (Ninjas vs Samurais?) -parallel alternate stories (Mirrodin Pure/New Phyrexia?) -dual planes (Lorwyn/Shadowmoor) So yeah, sounds like a plan~
Gokai-Red
Correction:Ninjas vs PiratesLet's Do itXDEDIT: actually maybe o as that would make 2 Blue Decks, I mean Ninjas are Bule-Black and Pirates seems to be Blue-Red (Ignore the fact that Ramires de Pietro is BU, RU seems to fit Piracy a lot better)EDIT2: If Ninjas are UB, Pirates UR...Samurais WR? And what else can we fit?EDIT3: Faeries (UG) vs Witches (RB) :o
CLG Klavier
No, I don't mean such color specific. Only like, imagine it as an entire set with 2 distinct themes - Samurais and Ninjas. Of course, there would be some overlaps since it's still Kamigawa, but one side of the set would be more deceptive-y, and other more about straight out combat. Themes still overlap, but are different in their own way.
Gokai-Red
Oh! Now I get what you mean... Then yeah my ideas where more for a Duel Deck esque ideas But this one has to be good Past vs Future Sort of like a Days of Future Past kinda stuff
CLG Klavier
Yep. To take more examples from real MTG: imagine a past Tarkir full of dragons and the current dragonless one together. Might create a lot of funny situations. So guys, I guess we gotta decide - what would be the first theme(s) we approach? IMO, let's skip that entire Alpha set bullcrap. Too much of a hassle. Gokai-Red
We could if you want cheap us a "Core" Set thought...except that instead of creating it from Scratch let it be so, more or less we vote a number of cards for each color (Around 20ish) from the current MTG pool so we can Functionally reprint it and have our "Core" set, well set. XD EDIT: More or less actually it is like making a cube, but more limited and with generic stuff only
CLG Klavier
That's... ...not half bad of an idea to be quite honest. Dunno what the rest thinks.
Rodrigo
I'm up for it. It'll make us more comfortable with card creation to be honest.
CLG Klavier
So, should we just go with the most staple cards for each color? You know, Shock (Bolt?), Doom Blade and whatevs.

.Rai
What sort of format are we designing for here? I figure it's going to essentially be an Eternal format. If not, I dislike Day of Judgement and Lightning Bolt. If yes, then fine. Either way, Oblivion Ring should be Banishing Light.
CLG Klavier
but I like the O-Ring tricks Also yeah, we'll probably got for eternal. Rotations would be boooooring.
.Rai
O-Ring tricks are hilarious but unfortunately unintuitive. No point designing a format with a design technicality just because it's more competitive or abusable. I'd focus on honouring good design principles straight out.
