The Importance of Being Earnest

Recommended Posts

I don't know art but I do know I like how it looks. The colors were a good choice, in my opinion.

That tie being crooked is throwing me off like crazy though. But that's probably just me.

Bro, that was on purpose.

I think the choice of not including a face and leaving only a suit and tophat speaks to the play itself, considering none of them are really Earnest.

You get it. Also the idea of two different people being bunburiests. That's why I did the mirror-match of colors on the suit.

lol right side of the suit is choppier for some reason. Hat and suit and the colors look pretty legit though. A lot of text, hard to do it minimally, but I'm assuming you can't help that haha

I saw that and I think it is just the pentool messing with me. Tried to fix it and it didn't work. The text is literally all because of the title of the play, which is annoying but doesn't take too much away from the attempt.

Very nice work in some areas, but some other areas can easily be fixed. Something about the colours does feel off, not sure if that brown-y orange is playing well but the teal is nice.

As for the suit, the left hand side is superb however the right sight, as I think you're aware is very jagged and not smooth at all.

As for the tie, the knot itself feels weird, maybe I'm picturing the edges of a collar hanging over the knot and they don't seem to be there, you see it's got more of a 'triangle' shape when I feel it should be more of a 'pentagon' shape, as in, cutting off the two topper corners.

Text looks nice, I can read it but the 'E' caused a little trouble. Other than that I would just say scale is another problem, getting my face right up to my monitor reveals that the text itself is quite 'pixellated' and there's not heavy aliasing on that like the right hand side of the suit itself.

And the overlayed 'grunge' or dirt texture over, the left hand side has a larger stain than any other section and I felt this caught my eye more than it was meant to, maybe reduce that part?

Other than those few faults which are fixable, the rest of the image looks good, especially the line work on the left hand side of the suit jacket.

This is some dope feedback, man. The suit being choppy was just shit because of my pentool, nothing more. I tried to fix it but gave up. I appreciate this, though. Really sound advice.
