How can I be a more "confident" writer?

Recommended Posts

Alot of people I know personally say I'm a good writer, but part of me worries that I'm still not that good. I feel that this lack of confidence makes it hard for me to write as often as I'd like. Thus, I'd like to hear what the readers of this thread think of some of my work (below) just to see how good I really am. Any review within the site & section rules is fine by me and if you think I've got potential, that's good to hear too.

edit: general advice is fine too I guess.

Yeah man, there was a time where I thought the same thing.

The biggest thing with writing is that you gotta be flexible with that you like writing about. If you don't enjoy writing a story for a major audience that prefers to read about a certain thing, then you've kinda backed yourself into a corner. But since that's mostly just limiting your options, the best thing to do as a writer is just experiment with your subjects. If an idea hits your mind that you think is good, post the idea for an interest check. If people are curious, then that's your cue, but this is where confidence and dedication is key; you HAVE to follow through with your idea, otherwise it's either a load of pressure or it's as if it never existed.

tl:dr - Post your ideas, get people interested, and just do it.
