[spoiler=Dante, the Scrapper]

hawlucha.gif

"Whatchya lookin' at, bro? I'll knock you shitless!"

Personal Information:

Name: Dante

Species: Hawlucha

Gender: Male (he/him/his)

Age: 23 months.

[spoiler=Appearance]

heroic_hawlucha_by_red_flare-d6xev4s.png

Always primed and ready to fight, Dante is in peak physical condition. Across his left pectoral muscle are three parallel scars left from an encounter with a protective, mother Pyroar a few months ago. While noticeable, they are modestly hidden by Dante's feathers.

[spoiler=Personality]

Dante has little to no impulse control and as a result often gets himself into trouble. Harboring an obsession with combat, he tends to challenge just about anyone and everyone to a battle at some point or another. To him, it doesn't matter by how much he is outclassed, he is willing to give any fight his all. So, give him points for courage and determination, but maybe not for brains. Thinking more with his gut than with his head, Dante allows his emotions to rule his decision make process. Often times, this causes his temper to flare up pretty dramatically but it is also quick to cool off.

Dante is a truly genuine individual and has no concept of deceit or trickery. This makes him a truly good friend and ally, but puts him at a disadvantage against more duplicitous foes. Dante would rather lose fair and square than to win by cheating, likewise he has no respect for those that rely on cheap tricks to win fights. He does, however, harbor a deep respect for anyone that (1) can best him in a fight or (2) will gracefully lose a match or recognize when they have beaten.

Having been cooped up in the White Forest his entire life, Dante has recently entertained the idea of leaving, but has confided these thoughts in no one.

[spoiler=Biography]

Dante has lived in the White Forest his entire life and has become a familiar face to its inhabitants throughout his almost two years of existence. And while he's generally well liked, he's also well known for knack for violence and destruction of property. No one suspects him of malicious intent, but good intentions doesn't fix broken nests...or broken bones for that matter. As such, the community has trusted Master Shaolin to wrangle in this exceptionally hot-tempered youth.

One of the Dojo Masters most keen and talented students, Dante is constantly at work in the dojo to improve his fighting skills...which is a relief to the other inhabitants of the forest because if he is at the dojo, it means he isn't causing trouble somewhere else. Dante has won the title of Junior Forest Brawling Champion in the last two seasonal competitions, each win granting him the opportunity to learn a move from Master Shaolin's vault of TMs. He is quite proud of these accomplishments and is eager to be eligible for the Elite Forest division when he reaches 24 months of age.

Dante works primarily as a student and attendant at the dojo, but is eager to take on the responsibilities of Border Patrol. The Chieftain and commander are hesitant to allow him any type of responsibility within Border Patrol because of his overzealous, combative temperament but they are hopeful that Master Shaolin will be able to beat some discipline into him.

Dante has no notable family to speak of, the closest thing he has to a parent is Master Shaolin.

[spoiler=More info on Junior/Elite Forest Brawling Competition]

Hosted by Master Shaolin at his dojo at the start of every season. It is split into two divisions, Junior and Elite. The Junior division consists of Pokemon that are younger than 2 years, Elite is anyone that doesn't fit into Junior. The competition is a hand-to-hand fighting competition where only physical moves are allowed. Anyone is allowed to compete, although it is usually only inhabitants of the White Forest that compete. The winner of each division is allowed to pick a move from Master Shaolin's extensive collection of TMs and learn it. Dante has won the Junior division the last two seasons.

Combat Information:

Level: 16

Ability: Limber

Held Item: Not applicable.

Moves:

> Low Sweep*

> Aerial Ace

> Detect

> Roost

> Power-Up Punch*

*non-level up moves

[spoiler=Fighting Style]

Dante is an all-out brawler. Trained by Dojo Master Shaolin, he has a perfected flurry moves that quickly incapacitate an opponent, even those several times his size. Should he be victim of a surprise attack, a successful Detect will guard against unforeseen damage and then he can quickly counter with a Low Sweep, knocking an opponent off balance, which can be followed up with a Power-Up Punch. Roost often goes unused, despite the fact that Master Shaolin has stressed numerous times its importance.

Other Information:

> Dante curses a lot and is very fond of the words 'dude' and 'bro'

> Dante is a devout believer in Arceus and prays to him many times a day.

[spoiler=Janum the Narcoleptic]

315.gif
"Huh...? Can I go back to sleep now...?"

Personality Information
Name: Janum

Species: Roselia

Gender: Female. She, her.

Age: Fourteen months.

[spoiler=Appearance]
roselia_speedpaint_by_haychel-d6kuenb.jp

[spoiler=Personality]

Janum is excessively complacent. She doesn't believe that she really needs to try in life, instead opting to let most of her time be devoted to one of two things. A: Training her combat prowess, or B: Sleeping. It's rather odd, considering how young she still is, but her early evolution contributed to a false sense of superiority over other Pokemon. Despite this, she isn't rude, she's just overly confident in her abilities to the point where she forgets about her inexperience.

Beyond this, when interacting with other Pokemon, it's usually kept brief and simple. She's in a constant state of drowsiness, nodding off at all times of the day. Her ability to stay awake is always tasked, as sleep seems to the default state of Janum. Despite this, she never seems to completely lose track of a conversation, always finding her way back into a discussion with very little effort.

Being a Grass-type, Janum is very in tune with nature, able to tell about any major disturbances. This shows her Calm nature, which shines through her interactions with others. Even if she might see herself as superior, she will rarely say this directly to someone, instead opting to play nice in hopes of making progress in making her life much easier in the future. Despite her high opinion of herself, she honestly does care about the Pokemon of the White Forest, and wishes to protect them if she can.

[spoiler=Biography]

Janum was born to a Cacturne and Roserade, both of whom have migrated away from the White Forest, leaving her on her own. Her parents felt as though the Forest was doomed and chose to leave before anything could happen to them, and while Janum loved her parents, she refused to go with them.

Before they left though, Janum adored her parents. She inherited the move Spikes from her father, while inheriting Synthesis from her mother. Her father was the main source of controlling her prideful nature, often keeping the girl calm when she began to think higher of herself than was reasonable. Often times, he was the one teaching her to fight as well. The majority of the tactics she uses was passed on to her by her father, who's fighting style was tinted with nothing but waiting and deceiving the opponent.

From her mother, she inherited a narcolepsy problem. The two of them could often be found passed out in the forest on walks, resulting in much stress on her father's part. It wasn't until the incoming sense of danger that her mother began to properly live, focusing on finding a safe place for her family to live. Eventually the duo decided that the best course of action was to go on a scouting trip and try to find a safe place for the Pokemon of White Forest to migrate too if needed. Of course, Janum refused, claiming that she can do some good by attempting to join the Border Patrol as a scout for the forest. And that's what she's currently pursuing.

Combat Information:
Level: 14

Ability: Natural Cure

Held Item: Black Sludge

Moves:

*Synthesis

*Spikes

Growth

Stun Spore

Mega Drain

[spoiler=Fighting Style]
Despite Janum's very... Relaxed, outlook on life, she does intend on learning to fight, and spends a good deal of her time that isn't sleeping learning to. She's very conservative in her attacks. very rarely launching any attack until she's observed every angle and set up the situation in a way that she's okay with. Because of this, most of her time is playing dodge and avoid while she sets up for her attacks. Her fighting in battle is almost rhythmical, as her battle style seems to appear more of a dance to her than just a fight.

[spoiler=Lumina the Riolu]

447.gif

"Well would you look at that? You lost to a baby Pokemon. You're really pathetic, aren't you?"

Personality Information

Name: Lumina

Species: Riolu

Gender: Female, She

Age: 4 years old

[spoiler=Appearance]

riolu_by_all0412-d6rpz49.jpg

[spoiler=Personality]

Lumina is a fierce, stubborn, and cocky individual. She is loud and not afraid to get in someone's face. Lumina can be quite crude with how she speaks and how she acts, the type of female to snort in derision and roll her eyes when she sees something she doesn’t like. Lumina has no problem saying what she feels or thinks, for better or for worse, but she does have a habit of teasing and insulting others including those she may consider to be friends. When she can't solve an issue with her harsh words or dismissive insults, she's more than willing to get her fists involved.

Lumina likes to keep a tough front, which includes not getting too close to others. She's vocal and social enough but she doesn't really open up to anybody unless she's gotten very close to them. A funny quirk of hers is that she doesn't like bullying or bullies, despite her teasing nature to her friends and tendency to taunt her enemies and gloat when she wins. She's more likely to turn her aggression on someone she deems a bully than anyone else.

However Lumina is a bit of a sadist, a trait that's only growing, and really doesn't mind who she's fighting or why if she's in the mood. When Lumina gets riled up and excited for a fight she'll even go so far as to sabotage her allies' attempts to end the fight early, just to “make it more fun”.

If you do managed to become friends with Lumina, you'll find that you have a friend who will fearlessly stand up for you no matter what, but also fearlessly tell you off if you're in the wrong. All of your enemies become her enemies, unless she thinks you've made an enemy over stupid reasons. She's also very competitive and has a deep passion for winning/succeeding at whatever she sets out to do.

Behind her tough exterior, Lumina is a troubled little girl. She has trouble showing her empathy towards others and is pretty useless at helping someone through a difficult time or event in their life, making her awkward to open up to or cry around. This is because she feels that, if she empathizes with someone, she'll wind up looking weak.

Lumina has an ideal of “strength” that she strives to live up to. Much of her personality is built around matching this image of being strong that she has in her mind. Being emotional, showing vulnerability, backing down from a challenge are all things that Lumina strives to avoid. Beneath her tough image she's insecure about her abilities, and often thinks that despite her attempts to get attention from others through her boasting and her battling feats, nobody really cares about her or pay attention. Lumina is both too proud and too afraid to show these weaknesses to anyone and continues to lock away her insecurities.

It should be noted that Lumina resents the method of which her evolution occurs, despising the dependency it gives her.

Nature: Adamant

Characteristic: Likes thrashing about

[spoiler=Biography]

Lumina was born to the pairing of a Lucario female and a Scrafty male. However the union wasn't exactly a standard loving one, and as such Lumina's mother left her life very early on. Her father kept Lumina but didn't exactly care for her in the most loving manner. It was more akin to allowing Lumina to tag along than him watching over her and raising her.

Lumina learned much of what she knows by emulating her father. She'd see him challenge other Pokemon for their territory and fight them mercilessly. Lumina began to think that, if she could become strong like her father, then perhaps she'd earn his respect and attention. For years she went about doing all she could to impress her father but her efforts were often in vain. Lumina eventually learned that she'd need to go off on her own and become strong elsewhere to really earn his approval, otherwise her growth would be stunted.

Lumina eventually stumbled upon White Forest and saw potential for her to grow strong there. While she served the border patrol she could also train with the Dojo Master and push her abilities to the limit.

Combat Information:

Level: 15

Ability: Steadfast

Held Item: None

Moves: Foresight, Quick Attack, Force Palm, Feint, Counter, Crunch*

*Crunch is an egg-move from her Scrafty father. Every other move is natural by level up

[spoiler=Fighting Style]

Lumina has a very aggressive battle style, her focus being on outmaneuvering her opponents with her speed and mobility and chaining heavy hits on them. However, if in a particular mood, Lumina might underestimate her opponents and toy with them, during which she'll taunt her opponents and talk down to them. Normally she's rather direct and even a bit harsh. Her greatest weakness is that she holds back when she gets cocky. She drags fights on longer than they need to be for entertainment and to show off, but also loses focus on actually attaining victory if she goes too far.

Okay, just looked them over and aside from a couple hiccups, they all look good.

Ren, your character has a couple TM moves, so just make sure you explain how he came across them somewhere in the app.

Vanguard, for this RP, movesets are limited by level, so your character wouldn't have learned a couple of those moves yet.

Aside from that the apps look good. I'll be making the skype chat for this soon too.

[spoiler=Pandora]

absol.gif

"Disaster is going to happen; it's inevitable. I can sense it, after all."

Personality Information

Name: Pandora

Species: Absol, the Disaster Pokemon.

Gender: Female (she/her)

Age: 25 years.

[spoiler=Appearance]

__absol___by_slifertheskydragon.jpg

Her fur is longer than the traditional Absol's, and the horn on her head is slightly longer than average as well.

[spoiler=Personality]

Some would assume Pandora to be a pessimist, being that she's an Absol, it would be natural, right? Wrong. She's simply a realist, and prefers it that way. Also a fairly introverted individual, she prefers to keep to herself, but she isn't against talking with others every now and again. Being noted to be a wise, intelligent Pokemon, Pandora enjoys keeping this image a reality.

The one thing she has a deep mistrust of are humans, being that she had been abandoned by the trainer who had owned her for the short duration after hatching.

One particular trait of Pandora's is her fondness of the nighttime sky, she can be found on top of one of the larger hills in the White Forest observing the starry night skies fairly often.

Her sense of disaster is something that she typically keeps to herself, being that she does not want to scare the fellow inhabitants of the White Forest, as it has not yet become severe enough to warn anyone.

She wishes to one day travel to the mountains to find her species' natural habitat.

[spoiler=Biography]

Born to a pair of other Absol who were under the ownership of a trainer, Pandora was released into the wild soon after hatching from her egg and eventually found her way into the White Forest. She is one of the more well-respected inhabitants of the forest, one reason being that she is one of the older Pokemon who reside there. Otherwise she has had a relatively boring life. She's made her home by burrowing into a fairly large hillside. She hasn't joined any specific grouping of Pokemon, such as the Border Patrol or the Forest Watch, nor does she has a clique of her own, she simply does her own thing.

Though she has had some odd moments, such as finding the TM for the move Dark Pulse hidden inside a hollowed-out tree stump, and discovering that she had learned the move Perish Song from her mother.

As of late, however, she has begun to sense a danger approaching, though she cannot tell what it is...

Combat Information

Level: 20

Ability: Justified

Held Item: N/A

[spoiler=Moves]

Dark Pulse*

Double Team

Bite

Perish Song**

Taunt

Pursuit

*Learned by found TM

**Inherited from mother

[spoiler=Fighting Style]

A much more tactical fighter, Pandora prefers to keep her battles short and sweet, giving the opponent almost no time to react. Preferring to keep from being too aggressive, she forces the opponent into striking much more desperately by using Perish Song and Taunt, allowing her to end it quickly while their guard is down.

Alright, I've finished work on Dante. I took a lot of liberties with the biography, so let me know if anything needs to be changed!

Accepted! Looks great to me. And the liberties are perfectly fine, since I was hoping you guys would make the setting yours, expanding upon it when necessary. :)

Edit: I missed the age thing (oops), but yeah try and either adjust the age or tweak the details a bit.

On thing though Ren, your character is kinda young for having helped out the border patrol. Since 1-5 is basically 10-19 years old. You'd be about 13 years old or so.

Maybe you could have done some things for them not directly involved in the protecting of the forest though.

Actually... Ice Punch can be both an egg move and tutor move. I thought it would be better if tutor... But okay!

Will change to inherited.

Oh I forgot about that, sorry. I was mainly looking at Bullet Punch. Yeah, you can keep Ice Punch as tutor if you want, but Bullet Bunch for sure is inheritance only.

The issue should be cleared up. He no longer works for Border Patrol, just dreams about doing so.

So I started this thread last Friday, and I figured a week of messing around and figuring out apps would be a good time limit. So either tomorrow or Saturday I'll have the IC up. We'll still be accepting apps afterward to an extent, but I want to get this RP going.
