Challenger may pick theme.

Been really rusty after returning so was looking to face someone for a Warmup.

THEME: Card must reference a Video Game in some capacity.

CARD A

QJBtEO9.jpg

If you only have Zombie-type monsters in your Graveyard (min. 1), you can Set this card in 1 of your Spell/Trap Card Zones (from your hand). If this card in your Spell/Trap Card Zone is destroyed: You can Special Summon this card, then target 1 monster on the field; Banish that target.

CARD B

If your opponent controls a face-up DARK monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card destroys a DARK monster in battle, you can Tribute 1 monster you control to Special Summon the destroyed monster to your field in face-up Attack Position. The Special Summoned monster cannot attack on the turn it is Special Summoned by this cards effect. When this card is removed from your field, you can Banish 2 DARK monsters from your Graveyard to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard and increase its Level by 1.

I'm not sure if we can do this as Leaderboard right now, but I'll do it anyway.

Let's make a card that references a video game in some capacity.

Interesting Concept. Also sounds like I can dabble into Pop Culture too. You're on. But we should wait for confirmation first. Never realized that we were in a Transition between seasons.

Card A requires that you only have Zombies in the Graveyard (which may prove to be a problem nowdays, given some of them run mixed Extra Decks [with typing]).

Oh wait, Zombie World solves that problem, so you can run whatever you want while it's up + set this card.

If Zombie World didn't exist, I'd be saying this has a lot less utility, but because it does, it affords to let you go mixed + not worry about whether or not you have pure Zombies in the grave.

It functions very similarly to an Artifact in terms of application, and the monster banish is nice when it punishes blind MST attempts.

---------

Card B can be used as an anti-DARK measure (which is probably going to be useful as we get stuff like Burning Abyss, Dolls and other stuff coming into the mix).

Tributing stuff is nice, but no attack isn't great here [especially since it is indeed limited to DARKs only].

I suppose you could use DNA Transplant or something, but even that's situational.

We have its revival effect to make it a Level 7, but don't think Decks will want to banish stuff just to revive this.

It's a vampire and revives, yes, although I just don't think it's really worth the banish for a 2.5K monster.

You can Tribute itself to get that monster here, then revive it right away, but in the end, you're ending up with monsters that can't do much, except be Xyz bait in MP2.

In all, card is essentially only good in DARK oriented Decks and against mirrors, but even that's getting far-fetched.

---------

In all, card A gets my vote for being more versatile.

While yes, one can argue that it requires pure Zombies in the Graveyard, their Field Spell makes that point moot most of the time (assuming you can keep it up). Plus, the card can work against any Deck.

Card B is restricted to DARK Decks, which cuts down on its usefulness, and doesn't offer much else against others.
