A few things will have to be worked on. Trade for example. Players will need a link cable to trade. How can it work, like how can we evolve our Kadabra's into Alakazam's? Plus, what can they do. I mean it's not like they can take pokemon from all three versions and put them into one game.

These games will be its own thing that only has compatibility with other R/B/W games on Nintendo. If you actually paid attention to the Direct, or even watched at all, the link cables are linked with the new infared technology/ local connection basis, it just that the games are now altered so that it properly shows something like a link cable connection.

I've always wondered why they didn't have the old Pokemon games on the VC. I honestly never thought they would get put on there, but I guess I was wrong.

Words cannot express how excited I am for these. I'm pretty sure Yellow was the first Pokemon game I played, so I'm definitely going to pick up that one. I still have the cartridge for that game and a GBA to play it on, but I haven't played it in awhile and I was just thinking about starting a new game on there recently so this announcement was perfect timing. I never played Red or Blue, at least from my knowledge, so I'm interested in getting them and playing through them. Especially if they have the glitches and everyone still in them.

I'm so hyped for these.

I feel like Missingno is so iconic with Gen 1 that he would be left. Stuff like walking through walls and the various speed run glitches might not make it though.

Though the technical bugs like Ghost doing 0 vs. Psychic or the CRAP move pools for most type are built in and thats something I'm really looking forward towards.

I'm looking forward to having ALL 3 Legendary Birds learn Sky Attack. My old game I had to redo 3 times just for that. Fortunately I had Pokemon Stadium at the time so when learn time came, I traded with one version, delete data from the other, and when I had enough, trade back. The result was All three of my legendary birds learned Sky Attack. Since TM's were disposable pre-Gen V.

Fly is likely better than Sky Attack. They both take two turns, but being more or less immune to damage for a turn makes it preferable. Though if you can get Drill Peck that is strictly better. 80x2 damage over two turns vs 140 over two turns.

I remember needing a lot of help to beat Red my first play through. Also remember using Missingno too. One of the things I'm looking forward to is a legit run.

To expand on from my previous post, even though it was like 15 years ago, I still remember beating Yellow predominantly using Pikachu and Dugtrio for most of the game.

I'll say this though, I'm definitely not looking forward to "missing" the wild pokemon when I toss balls at them (like the birds for example).

O my god, I forgot that was a thing. Gen 1 man. It is glorious for all the wrong reasons. I love it so much.

To be fair, I forgot it was a thing for a while too, but then it came back to me like a bad penny.

I wonder if they will keep the blank grass patches in the forest.

For this that don't know, Viridian Forest has grass patches with a flower on the bottom right square of the tile. Because of how the game is programmed those tiles don't give encounters.
