So after sitting around for a bit doing literally nothing but looking at picks of destroyed ruins and the like, mainly because I had nothing better to do, I began to think about Yu-Gi-Oh. And looking at the ruins, it reminded me a bit of Seasons 4 and 5 of the original Yu-Gi-Oh and of a few other things. While thinking about this, I decided to make an archetype based around certain relics people might've made in the past, since in the Yu-Gi-Oh universe, the game has been played since the dawn of time. So, here they are- my Relic monsters! As always, CnC is accepted and appreciated.

 

((As a final note, I also figured that these "Relics" were tributes to a group of ancient monsters who supposedly created the world.))

"Relic Hunter Brock"

Warrior-type / EARTH Type / Level 4 Monster

Effect: When this card is Summoned, you can change its battle position. Once per turn, you can reveal one Rock-type monster in your hand; add one "Relic Stone" monster from your Deck to your hand. While this card is face-up on the field, Level 4 or lower Rock-type monsters can attack your opponent directly. While you control a face-up Rock-type monster, this card cannot be targeted for an attack or by card effects.

Effect: During each End Phase, if this card you control was tributed or destroyed and is in your Graveyard, you can Special Summon it. Once per turn, you can have this card attack your opponent directly if they control a Monster, but if this card uses this effect, all damage it deals is halved.

Rock-type / EARTH Attribute / Level 1 Monster

Effect: When an opponent's monster would declare an attack, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; negate that attack, and set the attacking monster. Once per turn, if you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. If this card is tributed for the summon of a Rock-type monster, you can add one "Relic Stone - Imitatient" from your Deck to your hand.

"Relic Stone - Imitatient"

Rock-type / EARTH Attribute / Level 4 Monster

Effect: When an opponent's monster would declare an attack, you can Special Summon this card from your hand to negate that attack, and set the attacking monster. Once per turn, you can pay 500 Life Points; add one "Lustrous Polish" from your Deck to your hand. If you Fusion Summon a Rock-type Monster from your Extra Deck, you can count this card as one of the necessary Monsters (or Attributes) for the Fusion Summon, but all other materials must be the same. Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by battle, and if it's targeted for an attack, switch it into Defense Mode.

Effect: When this card is Summoned, you can change its battle position. When this card is Normal Summoned: add one "Relic Stone - Marble Golem" from your Deck to your hand.

Effect: This card's name is treated as "Relic Stone - Geode Golem" while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. You can tribute this card; add one two Level 4 or lower "Relic Stone" Monsters with different names and levels from your Deck to your hand. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Special Summon one "Relic Stone - Magneton Golem" from your Deck to the field ignoring its summoning conditions. You can only each effect of "Relic Stone - Geoimposter" once per turn and only one effect per turn.

Rock-type / EARTH Attribute / Level 5 Monster

Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Tribute Summoned by tributing a "Relic" Monster, or Tribute Summoned while you control no monsters without using a Tribute, and cannot be Summoned any other way. When this card is Tribute Summoned with a tribute, change its Battle Position, then Special Summon the card used for its Tribute Summon from the Graveyard. While this card, "Relic Stone - Geode Golem" and "Relic Stone - Marble Golem" are on the field, your monsters cannot be destroyed by card effects. This card can attack while in Defense Position, and if it does, use its Defense during damage calculation.

Effect: This card cannot be Special Summoned. If you control no monsters, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. When this card is Normal Summoned, change its battle position. Once per turn during either player's turn, you can target one face-up Monster: change its battle position. If this card is in the Graveyard, you can banish it to act as a tribute for a Summon of a Rock-type monster.

Rock-type / EARTH Attribute / Level 5 Monster

Effect: This card cannot be Special Summoned. If you control no monsters, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. When this card is Normal Summoned, change its battle position. Once per turn, you can target one face-up Monster your opponent controls: tribute this card; that card is sent to the Graveyard. If this card is in the Graveyard, you can banish it to act as a tribute for a Summon of a Rock-type monster.

You can only use one effect of "Relic Fossil - Domination" per turn, and only once that turn.

Rock-type / WATER Attribute / Level 2 (Pendulum) Monster

SCALE: <7 / 7>

Pendulum Effect: If you would Tribute Summon a Rock-type "Relic" monster, you can send this card from your Pendulum Zone to face-up in your Extra Deck; this card counted as one of the necessary tributes to summon that card.

LORE: The reborn form of the fallen being of order. Said to bring harmony to the soul of its protector, as its radiance fills one with hope...

Winged Beast-type / EARTH Attribute / Level 6 Monster

Effect: Cannot be Special Summoned, except by the effect of "Relic Fossil - Supervision". This card cannot be targeted by your opponent's card effects. If this card attacks a defense position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. If this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent, you can either have this card gain 300 attack points, OR: add one Rock-type "Relic" Monster from your deck to your hand.

Field Spell Card

Effect: While this card is on the field, Rock-type Monsters you control can attack while in Defense mode and their Defense is used during damage calculation, and gain 100 Defense for every EARTH Attribute Monster in your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can send 1 EARTH Attribute Monster from your Deck to the Graveyard; Normal Summon one Monster from your hand in addition to your regular Normal Summon/Set for the turn.

 

 

"Ruins Excavation"

Normal Spell Card

Effect: Add one Level 4 or lower "Relic" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate one "Ruins Excavation" per turn.

 

 

"Lustrous Polish"

Normal Spell Card (Fusion)

Effect: Fusion Summon one Rock or Machine-type Monster from your Extra Deck using Monsters you control or in your hand. If you control no face-up monsters, you can also banish monsters in your Graveyard for the Fusion Summon. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the number of banished Rock-type monsters you have x200. You can only use this effect of "Lustrous Polish" once per turn.

 

 

"Magnepolish!"

Quick-Play Spell Card (Transformation)

Effect: Target one face-up "Relic Stone" or "Relic God" monster you control; Special Summon one "MAGNEGod" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck who has the targeted card's name within its own. When this card leaves the field, banish it.

 

 

"Relicslide!"

Quick-Play Spell Card

Effect: Immediately after this Spell Card resolves; Special Summon as many "Relic Stone - Geode Golem"'s as possible from your Deck. They cannot be destroyed by battle this turn, and during your End Phase, are shuffled into the deck. You can banish one Rock-type Pokemon from your Graveyard; add this card to your hand. You can only use each effect of Relicslide! per turn, and only once that turn.

 

 

"Relic God's Altar"

Continuous Spell Card

Effect: While this card is face-up on the field, you can tribute Rock-type monsters for one less tribute and Normal Summon Rock-type monsters in addition to your original Normal Summon or Set. All Rock-type Monsters you control gain 500 Defense, and can't be destroyed by battle while in Defense mode.

 

 

"Solidarity of Stone"

Continuous Spell Card

Effect: When this card is activated, you can add one Rock-type Monster from your Deck to your hand. If the added monster is level 4 or lower, you can immediately Normal Summon it, in addition to your Normal Summon / Set for the turn. Once per turn, you can banish one "Relic Stone" Monster from your Graveyard to target another "Relic" monster in it; Special Summon it to the field, disregarding Summoning Conditions.

"Relic Battlefield"

Normal Trap Card

Effect: If you control a face-up Rock-type Monster, you can target it and one other monster your opponent controls; switch your target into Defense Mode (if you can) and force that other monster to do battle with it. If your opponent's monster has fewer Attack Points than your monster's Defense Points, it's destroyed, ignoring its effects and your opponent takes the difference as battle damage. You can only use "Relic Battlefield" once per turn.

 

 

"The Way of the Relic Creatures"

Normal Trap Card

Effect: When this card is activated, both players choose one monster they control with an original Level/Rank; they tribute these monsters, and each Special Summon one monster with an original Level/Rank higher than the tributed monster from their deck in Defense Mode. Those monsters cannot declare an attack this turn, nor be targeted for attacks. You can only use one "The Way of the Relic Creatures" per turn.

 

 

"Mount Nerga Crevasse"

Continuous Trap Card

Effect: Once per turn, when an opponent's monster declares an attack; negate that attack. This card cannot be destroyed while you control a face-up Rock-type monster OR a face-up "Relic Hunter Brock". If you control a face-up "Relic Hunter Brock", you can activate this effect once per turn: pay 500 Life Points; draw cards from your deck equal to the number of Rock-type monsters you control, OR: destroy one card on the field.

This card is also treated as EARTH Attribute. Once per turn, during either player's turn, you can double this card's Attack until the End Phase, but it's shuffled back into the Deck after the next Battle Phase. If this card attacks a non Rock-type Monster, that monster destroyed before damage calculation.

This card is also treated as EARTH Attribute. Once per turn, you can shuffle one face-up Monster your opponent controls into the deck, and if you do, deal damage to your opponent equal to that monster's attack, and if you do, shuffle this card into the Deck after the next Battle Phase. During your End Phase, you can Special Summon one Rock-type monster from your Graveyard.

Effect: Must be Special Summoned from the Extra Deck by the effect of "Magnepolish!" and cannot be Summoned any other way. This card is unaffected by your opponent's card effects while face-up on the field. If this card attacks an opponent's monster with fewer Defense Points than this card's Attack Points, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, you can have it declare a second attack OR: Special Summon one Rock-type "Relic" card from your Deck, disregarding summoning conditions. During the End Phase, return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, Summon the monster used to Summon it.

This card can attack while in Defense Position, and if it does, use its defense while in damage calculation. Once per turn, you can destroy one card your opponent controls. During the End Phase, return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, Summon the monster used to Summon it.

Well, that's my archetype! I hope you enjoyed it- if you noticed, I dragged a few ideas from Superheavy Sams into this deck in order to make it play how I wanted, but instead of taking the Synchro route, I went the Fusion Route instead, since it just seemed more like these kind of monsters to fuse together and fight than to synchronize each other and come together to fight. That's enough from me, however. I hope you can give me some CnC to help fix whatever may be wrong with the archetype, since it's probably needed, and much appreciated. Have a good day.
