What are your favourite Yu-Gi-Oh! Decks V3

Recommended Posts

I shalt bring the fad back.

My current favourites are literally any deck that can stops my opponent from playing, to be more specific, Yosenju (stun version). I like their immunity against floodgates (barring Skill Drain), and the fact that they are 99% immune to Macro Cosmos and Dimensional Fissure.

So, what are yours?

Yosenju Kaiju-The most fun deck I've ever played. Kaijus get over nearly everything and when combo'd with Yosenju Kama 1 to return them to hand, they can set up for an OTK quickly.

Kozmo-I love Star Wars and I've been playing it since it was available on DN with only Sliprider, Forerunner, Goodwitch, Farmgirl, and Town. The deck has won me a lot of duels and I love it to death.

Harpie Lady-The deck that got me back into Yugioh. The consistency is insane and Phantasmal Dragon is my favorite XYZ monster in the whole game.

My favorite decks are the ones that make it so that both players get to use their combos, but that defend me well enough that we just end up grinding off each other's resources over time.

Something like Ghostricks, Traptrix, that sort of thing.

Ghostricks are my babies, people be whispering about that jackass playing the Ghostricks at every regional

Raccoons were legit during Nekroz, and I was stoked at how RaccoonDolls didn't suck as bad as I thought they would, so they hold a special place in my heart

And I also play Harpies and Kozmos, but as I continue to brick I like the decks less and less

Raidraptor because I love birds and RUM spam.

Heraldics because I like their playstyle.

X-Saber because Yaiba brought me back. It's also the only synchro deck I'm good with.

Batteryman because batteryman.

Fire Fist because flooding the fields with fire formations is funny and leads to funny shenanigans with FF Kirin

Last but not least BA, I just kinda like them. BA PK was a deck I used for awhile and then stopped. Seems the deck picked up hype for reasons.

Bricking in Harpie? I have a hard time believing that.

It's either triple Party, or a bunch of dead single Harpies. Granted I haven't played Harpies irl since UTL or Twin Twisters, but I don't think those change the consistency all too much

Fluffal. The deck has so much destructive power all wrapped up in a deck that can easily Fusion Summon powerful cards multiple times in a turn. I regularly end duels with four Frightfur monsters on the field at once, the effects of cards like Fluffal Cat and Edge Imp Chain just extend combos like nothing else.

REALLY growing to like Cyber Angels. Gishki Zealgigas spam is still my favorite ritual deck I've ever played, but this is really quickly making a case to replace them.

Trains are just ham as hell and a ton of fun while being surprisingly resilient due to Dora. My favorite Xyz deck ever, along with Heraldic Rank-Up.

While Dinomists are kind of weak, they're steampunk dinosaurs. The cool factor makes up for the power level. They fact they can beat large amounts of face is just icing on the cake.

OK, here are my favorite decks

BA - it's meta and spamming Dante and Beatrice is fun.

Kozmo - it's meta and spamming Dark Destroyer and Soartroopers and Dark Lady is fun.

Monarchs - it's meta and spamming Ehther and Ultimaya is fun.

Iris Pals - it's meta and vomiting my hand is fun.

Exodia - cause it's not meta and failing to draw exodia is not fun.

Let's see:

  • Majespecter (what, I like the Deck and still on my usable list, despite part of the key pieces being hit hard. I still haven't found space for Kirin, even though I want to. Probably the most expensive Deck I want to build, since Raccoon is still $20+/each and the other parts are more. Least some of the other parts were reprinted and are more affordable.)
  • Ice Barrier (this and Blackwings are probably the 5Ds decks I actually can play well enough)
  • HEROs (well, I kinda liked them better when they weren't another Rank 4 spam - the Deck [or Dark Law spam], but yeah.)
  • Trains are getting fun now (I have to thank VCR for the quick guide on them; #35  = massive damage. Mine is pure Trains though; no Doll spam like some recipes do)
  • Mecha Phantom Beast (still my main Deck IRL [albeit budget Synchro version b/c Draco is still expensive as sheet + so are the other good Rank 7 options])
  • U.A. (now if Konami would've actually given them another Level 4 and under to work with, so they don't brick like hell. Cutting RoTA didn't help them. At least they were really cheap to build)

I will admit that Monarchs are getting there, mostly since I don't really need an ED. I'd make this IRL, but Mega Caius is still above my price range (or rather, the whole Deck anyway, given it sold out a few times). Yosens probably get a spot here, but I haven't used them for a while.

Gonna add Gem Knight to my next pet deck meme thanks to Block Dragon

tbh my favorite thing about blck dragon existing is that it works for zirconia and they go R8

and it's not like dropping a free elvel 8 that mills a good card (in the future) is bad.

Currently, I'm loving SUperheavy Samurai and Dark Magicians. Dark Magicians can wreck a full field with Circle, Eternal Soul, Illusion Magic, Ebon Illusion, Dracossack, etc which is awesome. Superheavy Samurai die really quickly if their plays get disrupted, but the feeling when your Susanowo, equiped with various Superheavy Samurai Soul cards, wipes out a Titanic Hope and a Dark Matter is amazing.

Gadget Dinomists remain my IRL deck of choice. Budget, as I'm saving up to buy all the DM stuff when it hits, but can pull off some nasty stunts on the unworthy.

I got the Xyz Symphony deck from a relative recently for my birthday, so I bust that out at locals occasionally for a giggle.

That is about it really, at the moment.

My favourite decks always had a noticeable pattern of being control decks that include power cards that don't target at all.

- Bubblebeat: Had absolutely amazing control thanks to Alius and Gemini Spark, and Miracle Fusion non-targetting was great to dodge specific counters like D.D. Crow, which was a popular main board card at the time. It had a fantastic match-up against a lot of meta decks at the time and made card advantage really relevant until you manage to drop your opponent's LP to 0. We now have the Shadow Mist for searches, but its really is not the same without Stratos and this game's powercreep is gotten so high that destroying things simply isn't enough anymore.

- Prophecy: A searchable non-targetting removal card that is REALLY hard to counter, feeds Eternity and can be recycled and get an additional draw by Towers is absolutely ridiculous. Back then, it made the small blue boy into a legitimate threat because Fate made powerful control boards just by setting it. The deck also has the best waifus

- Madolche: A deck that aged gracefully. While not as consistent as the meta decks of today, going Anjelly + a Level 3 monster is still an extremely powerful and relevant play because it gives instant access to an Xyz that not only recycles your monsters, but also does not care at all if cards are Pendulums, recruiters, immune to targetting or chainable; nothing on the field is safe from it and you better have a direct counter to it or else you are guaranteed to lose cards from the board.

I also used to like Synchro Zombies with them Mezukis, but everyone and their grandma's deck has such powerful revival these days, I didn't bother with the deck anymore :|

synchro zombie is playable again, you know

Not a best deck, but playable for sure, as opposed to being total trash. Also beats Kozmo fairly easily.
