Chitiknights Revisited

Back in 2014, I created an archetype called the chitiknights. It got off to a good start, but, in the life of the post, it was never really fleshed out completely. Since then, I've worked on fine-tuning the effects and actually printed the cards to play test, which helped a great deal in balancing some of the effects. Where, before, I had a nice idea that struggled with consistency, I now have a concept that (IMO) could make it into the meta.

 

Chitiknight (キトンナイト Kitonaito, pronounced as "kī-tə-nīt," is an Archetype of EARTH-Attribute monsters. The name is a portmanteau of "Chitin" which insect/arthropod exoskeletons are made from, and "Knight." All monsters in this archetype are Insect-Type, and all share the following effect:

 

            "This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster."

 

The effects of some of the monsters and most of the Spells and Traps play around with the idea that Chitiknights are simultaneously Insect-Type and Warrior-Type. The bugs swarm and the knights train to get strong...or thats the feel I wanted this deck to have. For all of the MTG players...this is a green deck...

This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. While you control this face-up card, Your opponent cannot target face-up "Chitoknight" monsters for attacks, except this one. When this card is destroyed: Add 1 "Chitiknight" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Chitiknight Drone."

This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. This card can attack monsters twice per turn. If this card was not Summoned by the effect of an Xyz Monster: It can be treated as 2 Xyz Materials for the Summon of a "Chitiknight" Xyz Monster. An Insect-Type Xyz Monster that was Summoned using this card as an Xyz Material gains this effect:

When you detach an Xyz Material(s) from this card to activate its effect: You can Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. When this card is Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Chitiknight" monster from your hand (That monster cannot attack this turn and it is banished during the End Phase) OR Tribute 1 "Chitiknight" monster; add 2 "Chitiknight" monsters from your Deck to your hand (You can only use this effect of "Chitiknight Hunter" once per turn).

This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. "Chitiknight" monsters you control with an original ATK lower than this card's ATK can attack your opponent directly.

Once per turn, you can change 1 face-up Attack Position "Chitiknight" monster you control to face-up Defense Position; add 1 "Chitiknight" card from the Deck to your hand.
 
This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. When this card is Pendulum Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Chitiknight" monster from your hand or Graveyard. The ATK of a monster Summoned by this effect becomes 1000 and it can attack your opponent directly this turn.

This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. Once per turn, during either player's turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; "Chitiknight" monsters you control are not affected by your opponent's card effects, until the End Phase. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to the Special Summon of a "Chitiknight" monster(s) this turn (This is a Quick Effect).

6 Level 4 Insect-Type Monsters

The Xyz Summon of this card cannot be negated. This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. This card gains 500 ATK and DEF for each Xyz Material attached to it. Cannot be targeted by a card effect)s) that would remove it from the field. Once per turn, when your opponent activates a card effect: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate that activation. During each of your End Phases, you can target 1 Level 4 "Chitiknight" monster you control; attach it to this card as a face-up Xyz Material (max 6).

This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. Once per turn, you can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; destroy 1 card on the field, then, if both detached monsters in your Graveyard are Warrior-Type, you can destroy up to 2 more cards on the field.

1 Insect-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. Other cards and effects cannot be activated in response to this card's Synchro Summon. Once per turn, you can send up to 2 Warrior-Type monsters you control to the Graveyard, shuffle that many Insect-Type monsters from your Graveyard into the Deck, and draw 1 card for each card sent to the Main Deck this way.

1 Insect-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. When Summoned: Target 2 monsters in your Graveyard, 1 Insect-Type and 1 Warrior-Type. If both targets have the same name, Special Summon them, otherwise, Special Summon 1 and banish the second target. Once only, if this card was Synchro Summoned: You can draw 1 extra card during your Draw Phase.

2 Level 3 Insect-Type monsters
This card is also always treated as a Warrior-Type monster. Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Shuffle 1 "Chitiknight" monster from your Graveyard into the Deck, then, you can shuffle 1 "Chitiknight" Pendulum Monster from your Extra Deck into the Main Deck to draw 1 card. While this card has Xyz Material, it can not be destroyed by battle.
