#6083493 [Aix's Single] Spell Seeker Shaman *Reviewers get Reps*

Posted by .Leo on 02 December 2012 - 03:52 PM

Interesting card to say the least. It is good that it wastes a normal summon to get the spell card. Good support for spell books as well, as it can get to their important cards faster. I see this card being very potent late game as well as it can give you that Heavy Storm or Monster Reborn that you would need to push you over the edge in a duel to get the win. Overall, I like the card and it seems very strong. Good job!

As I can tell, you are a newer person to the forum, so for future threads, if you could include the effect text at the bottom of the card so we can make OCG fixes plus give you some ideas for effect changes that would be appreciated.

First off, I will supply you with an OCG fix:

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by banishing 1 Spell Card in your hand and 1 Spell Card on the field. When this card is successfully Special Summon: Banish all Spell Cards in your Graveyard; Inflict 400 damage to your opponent for each card banished by this monster's effect.

Now onto the card itself. The summoning cost is a good cost in my opinion. For the utility of being able to drop a 2400 beatstick with a special summon condition is a very good thing, so the cost seems to be a good one. The abuse of this effect will most likely be minimal, seeing as most Monarch decks do not run S/T Cards, but it would be interesting to banish an opponent's card for your cost. This card obviously brings good Xyz potential with Monarchs, as you can quickly go into a Photon Strike Bounzer and start to take control of the game. The burn effect is interesting as well, as you could quickly rack up 2000 damage. Might provide a deck with some OTK potential. Overall, the card is quite a good card and is very useful. It is somewhat balanced, but be weary of the fact that it might bring some decks some good OTK potential.

#5747202 In Realistic Cards: Long effects = good

Posted by .Leo on 03 January 2012 - 09:12 PM

To be honest, this is more of a rant thread than anything else. I am honestly sick and tired of hearing this and it has pushed me to the point of making a thread specifically for this. Realistic cards, long effects are always good and short effects aren't always bad.

This is something some of you fail to realize. It enrages me that if I don't post multiple effects on a card, I get instantly bashed for it because it is said to be bland and could be better. The sad thing is, the most simple of cards are the best ones. Cards like Mystical Space Typhoon, Heavy Storm, Tour Guide, Morphing Jar and many more are very, very good even with short effects. Just because a card's effect is super long or short, doesn't make it better or worse. The quality of the effects and how good they are, determine the playability and the want for people to want to use it.

So here is an example, of what happens, when you make a super long effect. How complicated it becomes and how bad they can be. This used to be the norm of YCM back in the day. You guys have gotten better by a short amount, but I still think this needs to be said.

Cannot be Special Summon. Can only be Normal Summoned by Tributing 2 Fiend-Type monsters you control. You can only control 1 "Darksoul Calling Nightmare." Once per turn; Banish 1 card in your hand: Destroy 1 card your opponent controls. Activate one of the following effects depending on the type of card destroyed: - Monster Card: Place 2 Darksoul Counters on this card. -Spell Card: Add 2 monsters from your Graveyard to your Deck. - Trap Card: Add 1 Darksoul Counter to this monster. You can remove 6 Darksoul Counters from this card: This card gains 1500 ATK until the End Phase.

Well I guess this thread has already been summed up on how horribly broken this card is.

#5665373 The Duel Portal Program - available now

Posted by .Leo on 25 November 2011 - 05:29 PM

This is the Duel Portal, a virtually no-maintenance Dueling program presented to any and all YCM members. This program is a great for testing new cards and archetypes! Helps people in RC get a better grasp on how good their cards actually are.

Now before you guys jump to the conclusion, this is NOT an LCCG project. This was a project that was made by LCCG members to help better the experience in custom cards, mainly Realistic Cards, where most of the traffic is directed.

Now how is this working, you wonder? Simple! Here is a screen shot of the main screen:

RED: This is where you upload cards. You get a code creator which creates codes to be uploaded to the server. Once you have completed your card with all the necessary attributes and Tier associated with it (explained in the program) and you generate it, you can than upload to it to the server. The upload is virtually instantaneous. The cards you upload can be used by you and anybody else.

PURPLE: This is the duel feature. It is very likely you will need assistance from Hamachi or a similar program (see below explanation) to duel.

ORANGE: This is the list of cards uploaded to the server. You can add these cards to your deck. Pretty straight-forward.

GREEN: This shows the cards stats, effect (vanilla lore) and other important information.

YELLOW: This is your deck-list, pretty straightforward as well.

TURQUOISE: This is the warning list. You can add cards in the server that you want to be warned of if you duel them. If your opponent has that card, the program will immediately inform you. This is useful if you don't want to duel against insane cards.

There are already some cards in there to give you guys an idea of tiers, but these are mostly for example. We want you to upload everything else! =)

If you want to upload your own cards, say so in this thread and what username you will go by. Cards are occasionally checked by the name they are made by, and to prevent abusing the system, we need you to mention your name. Any cards whose usernames are not found here will be deleted!

We also highly recommend using Hamachi to duel because of its user-friendly interface. Hamachi gives you another IP address to work with. It is likely that a firewall could prevent you from dueling other people, so it is very possible you need to use a program like Hamachi. We’ve also made 2 networks, this is the one that isn't full:

Network Name: DuelPortal3
Password: DuelPortal3

Within the network you can find duelists who are online and chat with them to request a duel. Also note that sometimes firewalls can block a connection. It may be necessary for you to disable a firewall during a duel.

Have fun with it!

So, with Seattleite and I deciding that in the next week or two we might need to appoint a new co-leader. We have an idea on who we might appoint, but if you have any ideas on who you think should be appointed, you can do so.

Btw, the tourny will be starting soon once the cards are all fixed if need be.
