Maiya gave Davian an amused grin at his comment, letting out a light chuckle. "Are they, now? What a comforting thought," she joked, dodging the question "As for my own studies, well they can be quite varied to be honest, it depends whatever catches my interest at the time. Recently for example my attention has been focused on psychic duellists as well as the myths surrounding that Duel Monsters game that is so popular, it is quite a fascinating subject."
"By the way, if I were to consider offering my services then I am more than willing, I do have a small request in exchange, however." She continued "As I have told you, knowledge is something I covert greatly, and I have recently gained an interest in the phenominon of psychic duellists, they seem to be quite a fascinating subject, so I hope you don't mind if I take the opportunity to study it closer, perhaps observe some of the members of your little organization." She paused for a moment "You have my word that I will keep whatever I find to myself, if you do not wish it to become public knowledge, I am purely in this for my own interest after all."

Yue gave a rather obvious frown and shrugged. "Afraid I dunno," she replied "I only met her earlier today, this is the first time it's happened." A psychic duellist losing control was nothing new to Yue, it had happened to her at least once before and resulted in setting a building on fire, she was somewhat glad that Chalise's outburst didn't have nearly as severe consequnces as hers had "Is she okay?" Yue asked "Do you think we ought to take her to the infirmary or something?"

Maiya smiled warmly at Davian "I began in my youth as an apprentice to my grandfather," Maiya explained "Alas, he passed away some years ago but I have continued my own studies since, I have made it something of a point to gather as much knowledge as I can, I find that is a much more useful commodity than wealth or power."

The stranged seemed to ignore Maiya and her question went unanswered. To be fair this may have been due to the arrival of two more people at the cafe, one of them seeming to immediately spot Marzell and make their way over to them. Maiya noticed quickly that this man also bore an unusual appearance somewhat different to Marzell, looking far more bestial compared to Marzell. The strange attract the strange, she thought amused, remaining silent as the scene unfolded before her.
The waited returned with their drinks, Maiya taking hers gratefully and taking a sip from it. Her attention was brought back to the conversation again as the waited was once again intimidated by Marzell, practically throwing a glass into the air. "Oh dear," Maiya sighed, resigned to having to spend the evening watching soda stains out of her robes. Rather than crashing to the floor however instead the glass merely froze in mid-air causing Maiya to stare at it in surprise.
She looked to Samuel as he muttered something, following his gaze to see a man sitting at a table across from them with his hands raised. The glass slowly lowered to the table and the man spoke. Maiya rose an eye brow as she listened in on the converstation, noting that there seemed to be some chain of authority going on here. "Friend of yours?" She asked as the man left, turning her gaze back to Samuel.
It was at that point that the other man returned to join them. Maiya followed his progress to their table with an interested expression, a rather soft smile crossing her face as he introduced himself. "My, how convenient," she began "I believe you're the exact person I've been looking for." She gave a short bow towards Davian, an impressive feat considering she was sitting down "I have had an interest in the Neo-Arcadia Movement for some time now. But I am getting ahead of myself, my name is Maiya Akuzara, an alchemist by trade," she gave Davian a calm smile.

Maiya's expression took on a slight look of dissapointment as Marzell gave his reply. "I see," she sighed "Very well, it's been my experience that strange events tend to attract one another so I was hoping that you would at least know something, but it seems I was wrong."
It was at that point that a waited made their way over, clearly intimidated by the hulking creature and even went to far as to hold his tray like a shield, rather ineffectual really considering Maiya had seen the man punch through concrete. She watched the display silently, somewhat admiring Marzell's attempts to calm the man down without much success. Maiya met Marzell's gaze as he gave her a look of 'I get this all the time' before resuming his attempts to calm the man with just as much success until another figure made his way towards them, apparently attracted by the scene before them, looking around Maiya noticed that several of the cafe's other patrons and staff had stopped what they were doing to watch. The curse of the strangep Maiya thought to herself The stares of the common man are inevitable.
"I believe the man is of a natural nervous disposition," Maiya replied in a rather blank tone, making it impossible to tell if she was being serious or being sarcastic, she turned to the waited, giving him a calm and reassuring smile "If you are now in a decent condition to take our order I would like an iced tea, please." She turned back to the newcomer with a welcoming smile, glancing up and down him briefly before redirecting her gaze to his face "And who might you be, then?" She asked.

"Hey, relax," Yue said as Chalise began to grow hysteric "It ain't that bad, life's a b****, sure, but you can still make the most of it. I mean look at me, I'm blind and I don't let that hold me back, if anything it-" she paused, hearing a thud and feeling a slight sense of pressure for just a moment before the room around her went silent. "Um, what happened?" She asked Koko.

Maiya raised an eyebrow at the creature's answer taking note of his tone of voice, it obviously didn't seem to envoke any happy memories within him so Maiya decided to drop the line of enquiry for the time being. Instead she followed him over to one of the tables and sat down opposite him, ignoring the stares a large, overmuscled green man and a woman in old feudal garb no doubt attracted.
"Hm, where do I begin," she mused "I presume you're aware of the Duel Monsters game that seems to practically rule over society these days, it really starts with that. Phsychic duellists are duellists who are somehow able to form some kind of psychic connection with the game and develop amazing mental abilities through duelling, most often manifesting their creatures into solid forms when using holograms to duel." She paused to give Marzell a chance to digest this information before continuing "They used to be quite well known, around 70 years or so ago, but for whatever reason they fell under the radar. However there seems to have been a resurgance in recent times, you haven't heard of the Neo-Arcadia Movement by any chance, have you?" She asked.
****
"Comes with the package I guess," Yue shrugged "I don't think there's a single person here without a sob story of some kind. If you ask me it's best to just forget it and move on."
