Altered Subtype!!

Altered Mechanic:

Altering a monster basically changes its effect(s) to their Altered Effect(s), by the effect of a Field Spell that says,"Alter all Altered monsters". Also, the ATK and DEF of those monsters switch, and its Attribute becomes the opposite (Water becomes Fire, Earth becomes Wind, Light becomes Dark, Dark becomes Light, Fire becomes Water, and Wind becomes Earth). If an altered monster goes to the Graveyard, its effect that it has unaltered is its effect (I.E. If "Serious Clown" is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard while Altered, you can still activate its effect. Incase you cannot tell, the monsters, spells, and traps names (aside from altered reality) are oxymorons (DERP).

Destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card on the field. Then your opponent draws 1 card. If you control "Altered Reality", destroy all Spell and Trap cards on your opponent's side of the Field instead.

 

Calm Storm

Spell Card

During the turn this card is activated, neither player can activate card effects or attack. If you control "Altered Reality", Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower Altered monster from your deck instead.

 

Pot Luck

Spell Card

Draw 1 card. Then, take 1000 damage. If you control "Altered Reality", flip a coin and apply the appropriate effect instead:

*Heads: Draw 1 card. Then, remove from play 1 card in your hand.

*Tails: Remove from play 1 card in your hand. Then, draw 2 cards.

 

Marketing Strategy

Spell Card

Add 1 Altered monster OR 1 "Altered Reality" or "Shining Darkness" from your deck to your hand. Then, remove from play 1 card in your hand.

 

Forever's End

Spell Card

Remove from play the top 5 cards of your deck. If you control "Altered Reality", Special Summon up to 2 of your removed from play Altered monsters instead; remove from play any monsters summoned by this effect during the End Phase.

 

Shining Darkness

Field Spell Card

While this card is face-up, its name is treated as "Altered Reality". Alter all face-up monsters you control. During your Draw Phase, you can add 1 Altered card from your deck to your hand instead of drawing. You can send this face-up card to the Graveyard and pay 2000 Life Points to activate the following effect:

*Your opponent cannot activate any Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster's Effects until their next Draw phase.

 

Altered Reality

Field Spell Card

Alter all face-up monsters you control. Once per turn, you can select 1 face-up card on the field and negate its effects during this turn. If you control an Altered monster, this face-up card cannot be destroyed and other Field Spell Cards cannot be activated.

 

Trap Cards:

 

Living Dead

Continuous Trap Card

All face-up Altered monsters gain 1000 ATK. If you control "Altered Reality", Special 1 removed from play Altered monster and have it gain 1000 ATK instead.

 

Timely Paradox

Counter Trap Card

If you control an Altered monster that is Altered, and your opponent Summons a monster or activates a Spell, Trap, or Monster's Effect, negate the activation and effects of that card and destroy it.

This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing Altered monsters whose levels equal 8 or more from play. Once per turn, you can remove 1 Altered monster in your hand from play.

* Once per turn, you can add 1 removed from play Altered monster to your hand. When this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the DEF of that monster.

non-Altered effect is contradictory to its first Altered effect and vice-versa. Decided that this card should be the boss monster as well.

I feel like Altered Reality should be called Altered State for some reason.

I feel like Altered Reality should be called Altered State for some reason.

This is not a bad idea. It's interesting to see someone come up with a new subtype, and the oxymoronic names are a nice touch. However, I have one major problem with this: the "Altered Reality" field card itself. I strongly suggest using the explanation given in the beginning of your post as the actual card text, as "altering" a monster is an entirely new concept; no-one could possibly know what the hell the card does. Nevertheless, this set gets a 9/10 for originality.

 

Incidentally, would you mind checking out my "Nuclear Doomsday" set? I want to see what people think of it before I make them into actual cards.

not bad guys. land locked is pretty good. where were they supposed to be rfgd from? also, u didnt add the altered text to it. Also, the attribute needs to be the opposite of what it should be.

this isnt bad but if you havent noticed from my altered cards, theyre more about speed. They can OTK like nothing.

 

This is not a bad idea. It's interesting to see someone come up with a new subtype, and the oxymoronic names are a nice touch. ummm sure. the explanation to altering cards is practically in the altered monster's text. that's what altering a monster does.

When this card is altered it becomes a Wind type its attack and defense are switched and it gains the following effects:

*This card becomes a tuner monster.

*Once per turn you can send the top card of your deck to the graveyard, If that card is a monster card this cards level becomes 4 until the end phase.

*Once per turn remove from play one altered type monster from your field, this monster gains attack equal to double that monsters until your opponents next end phase.

*During each of your end phases halve this monsters attack points.
