Brutal Death Metal

:S I've personally never understood a lot of metal genres simply because it's basically listening to the atonal ramblings of an extremely loud guitar mixed with unrestrained percussion.

Besides, I don't trust anything with a name like brutal death metal.

slayer, kreator, celtic frost and Venom were very important influences to crafting of the genre of death metal

pffff, Slayer, Kreator and Celtic Frost are trash metal, Venom is metal. Death Metal band such as Death, Morbid Angel, Autopsy and Cannibal Corpse already existed at that time.

Melodeath > Brutal Death.

I'm not a big melodeath fan. The only melodeath I really like anymore is At The Gates (not their old stuff), and even they got old. In Flames used to be my favorite band, then they got overly metalcore and whatnot. Plus their sound just gets stale and their lyrics are bland.

I still vote Grindcore. >:3

You should try Between The Buried And Me then. They're good.
I listen to a few grindcore band but even the fanbase of those bands argue whether they're grindcore or mathcore (i.e Iwrestledabearonce).
And Brutal Death Metal is as bad as Deathcore.

I remember there was a point in my life where I listened to Necropsy 24/7. <3 them
[/quote] I remember listening to Wormed and Disentomb 24/7.

Not really following to brutal death metal scene that much anymore. I rarely look for new stuff since I'm pretty much content with my current collection.

Technical/Progressive Death Metal > Brutal/Slam Death Metal anyday

I myself usually tend to lean towards Thrash Metal, but some Death Metal bands are great. Death, Obituary, and Meshuggah are pretty neat. It's people starting to get unnecessarily vulgar or gory that push it a little to far for my tastes. Cannibal Corspe is an example.

CC isn't even that bad.

A better example would be Guttural Secrete. They have a song called Larva Masturbation.

Also, Phantom Stranger, Iwrestledabearonce isn't grind OR math. They're just kinda... ehhh...

Deathcore?

Anyway, I would have to agree about a lot of those harsher DM bands. The gore lyrics are just plain silly after a while. (Not to mention the album covers.) At least a lot of prog/melo death bands are half-way tasteful.
