Effects make them more than just beaters. It let's them deals with current game stuff. While they're in the Graveyard, they can equip themselves to other Fiend-Type monsters to give the equipped monster their effects. They're also Rekindling and Flamvell Firedog targets, adding more swarming. Their Xyzs make them crazier and add bigger monsters to the arsenal. (not a complaint im just wondering) personally id add a special typing of the card similar to: Fiend / [color=#B22222]OniUnion[/color] / Effect. this would strengthen the Arch type. the names run together......... Ex: Jigokunoni. Suggestion: Jigoku-Oni It dosent really feel like an arch-type the way you named them. Also limiting the number of effects that can pile up on a single Oni would better balence the set. There's dealing with the current Meta, and then theirs just downright overpowered monsters. Give them some form of drawback, maybe have them all switch to Defense or something that will give some sort of chance against them. I also noticed that these monsters cannot protect de-equip from their wielder and re-Special Summon, which is somewhat a relief, but it doesn't tone down the substantial level of overpowered cards you've done.
